Machine Gun Kelly Divulges On His Rehab Journey

Machine Gun Kelly guested on Bunnie XO’s Dumb Blonde podcast on Monday. During their near two-hour conversation, they touched on a number of topics, including his rough childhood, issues with his mother, and why he left hip-hop to do rock instead. MGK also revealed that he has been sober for a year, having gone to rehab at the conclusion of his European tour for several substance-related issues.

“I’m completely sober from everything. I don’t drink anymore. I haven’t drank since last August,” MGK revealed. The Cleveland artist says being sober has benefited his relationship with his daughter Casie. “I’m really happy when I’m clear and me and my daughter are having our conversations and I’m coming from a place of being centered and holding space for what a child needs from their parent,” he added. “Both of my feet are on the ground and I’m unstoppable.” MGK also recalled his daughter saying that she knew when he was high during their conversations, which was a wake-up call.

Machine Gun Kelly Reveals He Is Completely Sober After Rehab Stint

In March, Megan Fox confirmed her and MGK’s engagement was off. During the recent interview, MGK admits his substance abuse had to do with the relationship ending. He also mentioned that Fox’s disappointment in him not being able to get clean was part of the reason he went to rehab at all. The two have been in a relationship since 2020. Fox also sparked pregnancy rumors after her cameo in the video for MGK and Jelly Roll’s song, “Lonely Road.

At one point during the show, Bunnie asked MGK if he was up for a drinking contest against Jelly Roll. Kelly had to politely decline, though he did make it clear that he would have taken up that offer if he wasn’t on the sobriety path. “It just kills me because I just know I would have f*cking drank that man under the table!” It was a brief moment of levity during what appeared to be a very heavy podcast episode. MGK’s full conversation with Bunnie XO is available everywhere that podcasts are available, though the video version is not yet on her YouTube channel.

Bam Margera Says He’s 120 Days Sober, Gets Shoutout From Mark Wahlberg

Bam Margera has told TMZ that he is 120 days sober and doing well in his recovery. The former Jackass star told the outlet that his partner Dannii, skateboarding, and going to the gym have all helped him stay on the wagon. Furthermore, he revealed that he is currently in San Antonio to design artwork for a clothing company. Additionally, Margera’s gym of choice earned him from Mark Wahlberg. The owner of the gym worked with Marky Mark to get in shape for 2013’s Lone Survivor.

Wahlberg congratulated Margera on his sobriety, something he himself has been aiming for his year, and extended an invitation to connect next time Margera is in Las Vegas. Additionally, Margera revealed he had recently been cleared to see his son Phoenix. As a result, he plans to drive from Texas to California, stopping to visit Wahlberg along the way.

Britney Spears Inspires Bam Margera’s Latest Tattoo

Back in September, Margera got a new neck tattoo inspired by Britney Spears. The former Jackass star’s new ink reads “Britney Spears [heart] oops they did it to me too! [stylized smiley face]”. In a video sent to TMZ, Margera claimed that the tattoo was a reference to the “Florida Shuffle”. The term is a slang phrase referring to substance addicts who are “shuffled” between Florida rehabs that repeatedly charge the stays to the person’s insurance. “[I’ve done] the Guinness Book of World Records of longest Florida shuffle of nearly 2 years,” Margera said. Reportedly, he has done 10 back-to-back stays in rehab for a total cost of $660,000. Furthermore, Margera blasted the “controlling c-cksuckers that act like they care for your well-being when it’s all about money.”

Meanwhile, Margera drew comparisons between his experience and the torturous ordeal Spears went through during her infamous conservatorship. That, he said, was the primary reason he got the tattoo that he did. However, it’s not the first time that Margera has made reference to Spears recently. Earlier this year, while doing stand-up with Steve-O, Margera referred to himself as the “Britney Spears of Jackass“. Margera also recently celebrated a month of sobriety and told TMZ that he is residing just outside of Philadelphia with his girlfriend Dannii.

Flavor Flav’s Inspirational Post

“But I’m still here and you know what,” Flavor Flav continued. “I DID IT,,, and if I can do it,,, anyone can do it,!!! Macklemore Reflects On Addiction, Says It Is “Like An Allergy

Macklemore discussed his past struggles with substance abuse and getting sober during a new interview on the health podcast, On Purpose with Jay Shetty. The Grammy-winning rapper revealed that his addiction began when he was just 14 years old. When he had his first shot of alcohol at the time, it quickly became 12 shots within a span of 30 minutes.

“The easiest way for me to describe it is that it was like an allergy,” Macklemore, told host Jay Shetty. “It was once I had a sip or a hit or a sniff or whatever it was, I wanted more and I couldn’t turn that off. And I never could.” From there, he admitted that he didn’t understand the root of his problems until he met “a community of men in recovery,” in particular, those who had experienced “sexual trauma.”

“I had been lucky enough that I had already been to rehab,” he said. “I had already understood that this is the disease of addiction. This is an incurable disease.” He continued, “This is something that I don’t graduate from. This is something that I don’t go into remission — like this will be with me forever. And as a daily reprieve and a daily practice, what am I doing for my recovery?”

Later, Macklemore credited his wife, Tricia Davis, with helping him throughout his recovery. The two married back in 2015 and share three children: Colette Koala, 4, Sloane Ava Simone, 7, and Hugo Jack, who is 17 months.

As of now, Macklemore says he’s two years sober. “There’s so much work to be done. I’ve been in and out of the rooms of recovery for 14 years now, and I relapsed at the beginning of Covid,” he admitted. “So I have a couple years, but I still feel like a newcomer. I still feel like this is brand new and I’m just on the precipice of figuring out something that’s gonna open a new door.”

Kodak Black’s Team Made Sure He Was Sober During Rolling Loud

Rolling Loud took place in California this weekend and Kodak Black delivered an excellent set. The rapper appeared on stage to deliver his biggest hit records without little issues. However, he almost beat a concertgoer with a belt for throwing water on him. But besides his brief issue with a fan, the entire set went down without a hitch. Yak breezed through hit records like “Super Gremlin” and more. Fans were happy, as was his team, as he crushed his performance ahead of his stint in rehab.

According to TMZ, Kodak Black’s team ensured his sobriety throughout the event. His attorney confirmed a number of personnel attended the festival and dedicated their time to keeping Kodak Black away from negative influences. A physician was around who observed Yak’s eating habits while another individual sat by the rapper throughout the entire day to make sure he didn’t touch any substances. Additionally, the rapper veered clear of the after-party, which is apparently quite normal for Yak.

Kodak Black Heads To Rehab

Last week, a Florida judge ordered Kodak Black to enter 30 days of rehab after he tested positive for fentanyl. The rapper was expected to do two drug tests in February as part of his conditions related to a drug bust last summer, though he failedto appear for both. However, the fentanyl found in his system breached his conditions. Though the lawyer successfully argued that it was likely a mistake in the lab, the judge agreed to allow Yak to enter a 30-day rehab program after his performance at Rolling Loud.

Yak’s conditions stem from his arrest last July for possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and drug trafficking. Police found over 30 pills of oxycodone in his car after he was pulled over in Florida. The rapper posted $75K bond while his attorney, Bradford Cohen, said that the arrest wasn’t exactly what it seemed. “There are facts and circumstances that give rise to a defense, especially in this case,” Cohen said. We’ll keep you posted on anymore updates surrounding Kodak Black.

Macklemore’s Daughter, Sloane, Attends AA Meetings With Him: “I Don’t Want To Hide That”

Like so many others in the public eye, Macklemore has become accustomed to having little privacy. Thankfully, this seems to be something he’s learned to embrace, especially with his family. The Kent-born artist has always been candid about his past substance abuse struggles, but in an interview earlier this month, he revealed that his older daughter, 7-year-old Sloane Haggerty, attends Alcoholics Anonymous meetings alongside him.

“Sloane’s been to meetings with me. She asks me questions like, “Daddy, how’s your sober meetings going?” We talk about it,” he shared on the Audacy Check-In podcast last Friday (March 3). “And I don’t want to hide that because it’s not something that I need to feel guilt or shame or secrecy around. The whole intention is to put it out into the open… I’m not a finished product. This is what I’m working on. These are my struggles,” Macklemore proudly explained.

Sobriety Slip-Up

While he’s obviously in a much better place now, the “Thrift Shop” hitmaker previously admitted that the COVID-19 pandemic is what led to his unfortunate relapse. “I am a recovering addict and alcoholic and have been for the last 14 years,” he told audiences at The Tonight Show during a recent appearance. “A big part of my recovery community is going to physical 12-step meetings,” he noted, going on to mention that a lack of access to these services was seriously detrimental to him.

“I was alone, and the disease of addiction was like, ‘Yo, this is crazy. The world has stopped; you can get high,’” Macklemore added. His relapse was thankfully short-lived but has left him with trust issues to work through “within [himself] and within [his] close circle of friends.” Above all, the most important lesson learned by the 39-year-old is that “whatever [he] puts in front of my recovery will be the first thing that [he] loses.”

Macklemore’s BEN Album

After working through his issues with addiction, the father of three poured his energy into creating art. Countless studio sessions and collaborations with friends both new and old led to the creation of his long-awaited follow-up to 2017’s GEMINI.
