YNW Melly’s Friend YNW Bortlen Reportedly Told Police About Shootings

The case of YNW Melly is still developing, and his associate YNW Bortlen allegedly spoke to police about the incident that provoked his arrest. Moreover, newly released audio shows a conversation between Bortlen and an unidentified speaker. During the exchange, the YNW associate spoke briefly on the night two close friends, YNW Sakchaser and YNW Juvy, died in a shooting.

FT. LAUDERDALE, FL – FEBRUARY 13: In this handout photo provided by the Broward’s Sheriff’s Office, rapper YNW Melly, real name Jamell Demons, is seen in a police booking photo after being charged with two counts of murder in the first degree February 13, 2019 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Demons allegedly conspired with Cortlen Henry to fatally shot two other Florida based rappers, Christopher Thomas Jr and Anthony Williams, October 26. “I’m trying to make sure I don’t get hit,” the rapper began. “And you’re telling me about this- I don’t know, you know what I’m saying? I’m driving… S**t crazy, bro.”

Furthermore, the last update we got from Melly was a plea for his life. Moreover, the “Mixed Personalities” rapper posted on Instagram that he “feared for [his] life” after threats from officials at his prison.

“As of this moment today I am officially in fear of my life,” Melly wrote last December. “A new Captain named Hubert and XO Jenkins have taken over the jail for two weeks now. They’ve handed out even harsher punishments for me [than] the previous ones in place.

“They are watching my every move on camera,” he continued. “Making sure I don’t use the phone to tell the world how I am being mistreated, discriminated, threatened physically, harassed… [Deputies, lieutenants, and sergeants] say ‘they will hide me from the world’ and threaten to ‘beat my ass every day.’ If I tell my lawyers they will lie and say I hit them first.”

Meanwhile, many assume that the person Bortlen spoke to is a detective. While the rapper did not provide any specific details or incriminations in the clip, the other voice goes on.

“I know it’s not for you to worry about,” he began. “But if you told me it happened there, there’s got to be some evidence there… There’s going to be broken glass over there, when the windows got shot out. There’s going to be casings from the people shooting at your car. Okay, there’s going to be stuff, evidence over there. Right now, there’s nothing, okay? I kind of think I know what happened.”

While it seems the other voice sought out more details, the released clip cuts off at that moment. Moreover, the lack of evidence as of now seems to hint at a difficult case to make heads or tails of. Regardless, confessions and conversations like these will prove instrumental to the “Murder On My Mind” rapper’s case.

Still, what do you think of YNW Bortlen speaking to police about YNW Melly’s charges and the incident that locked him up? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments down below. Also, as always, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest on YNW Melly’s case.

Gunna Dissed By Lil Durk & Unfollowed By Lil Baby

After Gunna’s release from prison following a plea deal, the rap world reacted with mixed emotions. Many thought the YSL rapper snitched on his codefendants, while others understand the circumstances. However, some are apparently taking stronger stances. Lil Durk teased a song on Instagram that seemingly shaded Gunna, while Lil Baby unfollowed the “pushin p” rapper on Instagram.

“What happened to Virgil? He probably gon’ tell,” rapper Durk in the song tease. “I let him go because Timo ain’t selling / Thank 7 and Booka I’m bragging on Melvin / When lil boo and them mad it ain’t nothing you can tell them / I can tell you what I did for the streets / you got the paperwork, did it and reached / I got on Clubhouse and got in the beef.”

Moreover, both Durkio and Gunna appeared on the track “What Happened To Virgil,” which is what really points this diss. Also, there’s the mention of paperwork. While this could honestly be interpreted as an open diss, it’s hard not to think of Gunna given their collab and the timeliness of his release. Still, this one is relatively up in the air.

Meanwhile, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Lil Baby stopped following his “Drip Too Hard” co-spitter on Instagram. What makes this exchange interesting is that the It’s Only Me rapper has a collab album with both these artists. In fact, given the wide overlap of their fanbases, this news is as sad as it is understandable. With the current conversation around snitching, artists are bound to draw the line somewhere.

These developments came during Young Thug’s RICO trial, which he faces with 13 other codefendants. Furthermore, the last update we got was a report that someone tried to smuggle marijuana to an unnamed defendant.

What do you think of Lil Durk seemingly dissing Gunna and Lil Baby unfollowing his Atlanta partner? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments down below. Also, as always, check back in with HNHH for the latest from Gunna, snitch allegations, and the YSL case.

Bobby Shmurda Drops Diss Track Allegedly Aimed At Gunna Titled “Rat N****s”

There’s no secret that Brooklyn drill mainstay Bobby Shmurda is a “no snitching” advocate, but it appears that the “Hot N***a” took his ideals a step further after teasing a new track that seems to be aiming at YSL’s Gunna titled “Rat N****s.”

Some say that Shmurda is aiming at Gunna, who took a plea deal in the YSL RICO case, which still leaves Young Slime Life capo and Gunna’s partner in rhyme, Young Thug, still behind bars. In the lyrics, Shmurda rapped, “Took a plea deal … left your dog in that pen … why they playback in that courtroom, keeps playing back in his head.”

Shmurda’s loyalty to his crew can never be questioned, as he added two years to his sentence in 2016 to take five years off Rowdy Rebel’s sentence.

Gunna took an Alford Plea in his RICO conspiracy case, which his lawyer Steven Shadow says does not influence the result of any of the other YSL members’ cases.

Waka Flocka Flame Addresses Gunna, Young Thug & Snitching Allegations

Waka Flocka recently addressed the upcoming trial for Young Thug and other members of YSL while speaking with Shannon Sharpe. Appearing on his podcast, Club Shay Shay, Waka said that he’s praying for the best for the artists.

“God bless their situation and I hope they learned from it and I pray they become bigger & better people,” Wake said when asked about the situation.

Waka also labeled Young Thug one of the hardest-working artists he knows.

Gunna has denied that his plea deal came as a result of snitching on his associates. Additionally, his attorney has said that the rapper will not testify against Thug or anyone else in YSL.

“While I have agreed to always be truthful, I want to make it perfectly clear that I have NOT made any statements, have NOT been interviewed, have NOT cooperated, have NOT agreed to testify or be a witness for or against any party in the case and have absolutely NO intention of being involved in the trial process in any way,” Gunna said in a statement.

Elsewhere in the interview, Waka reflected on the death of Takeoff. The Migos rapper was shot and killed in Houston, back in November during a dice game.

“I can’t tell you why, and I never want to speak on nobody’s death, but I could tell you this: when God blesses you, you have to change your ways, you have to evolve — you have to,” he said. “I could just say wrong place, wrong time for these guys.”

Screen Shot 2022 12 06 at 9.40.35 AM

In a 2020 episode of his expediTIously podcast, self proclaimed King Of The South T.I. admitted to snitching on a dead family member in order to get out of an illegal gun case.

T.I.’s cousin, Toot, was killed before the two could go to trial for a gun case caught in the early 2000s near ATL’s Lenox Mall, but Tip says Toot’s beyond the grave blessing made it ok to use his cousin and production collaborator a posthumous scapegoat.

“We caught those gun cases, Toot died. My lawyer said, ‘Well, you know, I could make everything go away if it was Toot’s, it was Tremel’s,’” he said. “After he had passed, I had a talk with him. Toot said, ‘I’ll take all the charges you got! If you can walk away free and put it on me, goddamn right! ‘Cause I’ll be damned if they gon’ come and muthafucking extradite me from here!’”
