Simone Biles’ Estranged Birth Mother Expresses Desire for Reconciliation and Financial Help

Last week, Shannon Biles, the birth mother of Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles, expressed a desire to reconnect with her daughter, whom she has been estranged from for decades. Shannon, who lives in poverty, also shared that she would welcome financial assistance if offered by Simone.

In an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail, Shannon, 52, opened up about the strained relationship between her and Simone. “Of course, I would accept her help,” Shannon stated, adding that Simone has not extended any financial support to her thus far. “I’m here. I’m okay,” she said, reflecting on her situation.

Simone, now an accomplished and celebrated Olympic gymnast, was separated from her birth mother as a child due to Shannon’s struggles with substance abuse. Shannon lost custody of her four children, including Simone, who was later adopted by her maternal grandfather Ron and his wife Nellie Biles, who raised her in Texas. Despite her remarkable success, Simone has chosen to maintain her distance from Shannon, who continues to live in the same modest row house in the crime-ridden neighborhood of Franklinton, Ohio.

While Simone’s life has been marked by extraordinary achievements, it has not been without its share of scrutiny. Recently, Simone found herself addressing criticism from online trolls after sharing a video of herself enjoying a luxury shopping spree following her victorious performance at the Olympic Games. Some critics took issue with her flaunting her wealth, particularly after she was seen with an Hermès handbag. Simone responded to the backlash on Threads, cheekily clarifying that the expensive handbag was actually a gift from her adoptive parents, writing, “My parents bought me my Hermès bag. Don’t be mad at me, be mad at your parents.”

Shannon, who has been sober for years but continues to struggle financially, has expressed her desire to mend the broken relationship with her daughter. However, Simone has yet to show any interest in reconciling with the woman who abandoned her during her early years.

As Shannon navigates life with little to no contact with Simone, the question remains whether the two will ever find a way to reconnect, or if the rift between them will continue to grow.

Simone Biles’ Biological Mother Wants To Rekindle Their Relationship

Simone Biles put together another incredible Olympics performance over the last couple of weeks during the Paris games. She went on to add another four medals to her previous collection of 10 overall, which included seven golds. After it was all set and done, the Columbus, Ohio native snagged another three golds in addition to a silver. The constant theme throughout these 2024 events for her and Team USA was that it was the “redemption tour”. They certainly accomplished their mission, putting their respective country back on top in the sport of gymnastics.

While the whole U.S. was cheering for Simone, so was her biological mother, Shanon. In fact, she even held a backyard party to celebrate her run this year. You may be wondering, “‘why was she not in attendance?’”. Well, since about the age of three, Shanon was not able to care for Simone due to a troubling addiction to drugs and alcohol. Her, along with her siblings, were placed into foster care. Then, at the age of six, Shanon’s dad (Simone’s grandpa), Ron Biles, and his wife Nellie Cayetano Biles, took them in.

Simone has constantly referred to them as her actual parents and overall, her and Shanon’s relationship has been nearly nonexistent since then. However, shortly after the games, Shanon is hoping that they can reconnect. She sat down with The Daily Mail to express these feelings and is waiting for Simone to decide what she wants to do. “I would like to make amends with Simone personally. I’m just waiting for her and Adria. I speak to Adria more than I speak to Simone. I would just ask her to forgive me. Can we move forward? Don’t judge me on my past. Let’s move forward”.

What are your thoughts on Simone Biles’ mom wanting to work things out between them? Do you think that this is fishy given the Olympics just ended, why or why not? Is this the right way to go about reuniting? If you were in Simone’s spot, what would you do? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Beyoncé Continues Her Team USA Support By Honoring Simone Biles In A Powerful New 2024 Olympics Video

The United States is doing great at the 2024 Olympics so far: As of this post, the US leads in overall medals and trails behind only China in gold medals. Superstar gymnast Simone Biles has contributed to the US medal count, and now she is the subject of a new Beyoncé-narrated video.

The spot, which offers a visual overview of Biles’ journey, is set to the Cowboy Carter song “Just For Fun” and also features narration from Beyoncé. She says, “Let’s talk about power. Because, really, that’s what this story’s about: Physical power. Its beauty, its wonder. The way it never stops amazing you. Then there’s spiritual power, the kind that really matters. The power you can’t see, only sense. The power you need in those moments when life goes a little sideways on you. And, of course, lasting power. Only a select few know what it feels like to get to the top and stay there. And, somehow, keep getting better.”

This comes days after Beyoncé starred in a Cowboy Carter-style hype video introducing the USA athletes, before the games officially kicked off. In the video, she gives props to some athletes specifically while also saying more generally, “Get a look at America, y’all. These hopes and dreams. These superstars that represent us, the people of this big, bold, beautiful, complicated nation, all rooting together for them.”

Simone Biles Wins Historic Sixth Olympic Gold Medal In Women’s All-Around Final

Today, Simone Biles made history, winning her sixth Olympic gold medal in the gymnastics all-around final. She’s now the first American gymnast to do so. She narrowly defeated Rebeca Andrade of Brazil, who finished silver, and her teammate Suni Lee who finished bronze. The 27-year-old is now the oldest Olympics all-around champion since Maria Gorokhovskaya, who secured the title in 1952. Biles is also the third woman in history to win multiple gold medals in the all-around.

Following a mistake on uneven bars, she put on impressive balance beam and floor performances. While this put her above both Lee and Andrade, Biles admits that the mishap shook her confidence. According to her, she was “praying to every single God out there trying to refocus and recenter myself because that’s not the bars that I had been training.”

Simone Biles Celebrates Her Win

“I’m not the best bar swinger like Suni or Kaylia, but I can still swing some bars,” Biles also added. “I don’t want to compete with Rebeca no more. I’m tired. Like, she’s way too close. I’ve never had an athlete that close.” She celebrated the exciting win by debuting a silver goat necklace, symbolizing her undeniable GOAT status.

“My GOAT necklace is just kind of an ode, because the people love it and some people hate it,” she explained. “So, it’s like the best of both worlds. I was like, ‘OK, if it goes well, we’ll wear the GOAT necklace.’ I know people will go crazy over it but at the end of the day it is crazy that I am in the conversation of ‘Greatest of all athletes’ because I just still think, ‘I’m Simone Biles from Spring, Texas who loves to flip.’” What do you think of Simone Biles making history with her latest win? Simone Biles and MyKayla Skinner’s Tension Continues Post-2024 Women’s Final in Paris

Screen Shot 2024 08 01 at 9.49.38 AM

The world of gymnastics were in for a shock following the 2024 Women’s Final in Paris. On Tuesday, July 28, Simone Biles led her team to a gold medal victory, marking a triumphant return after her withdrawal from most of the 2020 competitions due to the “twisties.” However, the celebration was short-lived with tension between Biles and her former teammate, MyKayla Skinner.

The friction between Biles and Skinner traces back to earlier this month during the Gymnastics US Olympic Team Trials in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Skinner posted a video on YouTube, which she later deleted, criticizing the current generation of gymnasts. “Besides Simone, I feel like the talent and the depth isn’t what it used to be,” Skinner stated. “I just noticed, obviously, a lot of girls don’t work as hard. The girls don’t have the work ethic.”

Skinner also commented on the shift in coaching styles, saying, “Coaches can’t get on athletes which in some ways is really good but at the same time, to get to where you need to be in gymnastics you do have to be… a little aggressive, a little intense.”

Biles responded to these remarks through Instagram Threads, writing, “Not everyone needs a mic and a platform.” Jordan Chiles’ mother also expressed her disapproval on X, formerly known as Twitter, noting, “Whoa. She really said that out loud and posted it. That’s something….”

In the wake of the backlash, Skinner issued an apology via Instagram Story, stating that her comments were based on personal experiences and were not intended to offend the 2024 team. “Sorry for anything that got out of context or seemed hurtful,” she said. She emphasized her support for the team, expressing her happiness for their achievements.

Despite the apology, Biles’ Instagram post celebrating the team’s Olympic win appeared to subtly reference Skinner’s comments. “Lack of talent, lazy, olympic champions,” the caption read, prompting fans to acknowledge the apparent dig at Skinner. McKayla Maroney even chimed in with a comment jokingly apologizing for sharing the same name as Skinner.

Skinner did not publicly respond to Biles’ post, but the tension escalated when Biles posted on X, “oops I’ve been blocked.” Speculation that Skinner was behind the block was seemingly confirmed by Chiles, who shared a photo on her Instagram Story showing Biles’ phone unable to access Skinner’s posts. Chiles captioned it: “When she blocks Simone.”

As the gymnastics world processes the drama, the focus remains on the remarkable achievements of Biles and her team. Despite the personal conflicts, their gold medal win stands as a testament to their dedication and talent.

Megan Thee Stallion Celebrated Simone Biles’ Latest Gold Medal By Sharing A Video Of Biles Dancing To ‘Where Them Girls At’

Simone Biles posted a video of herself dancing to Megan Thee Stallion’s “Where Them Girls At” ahead of her Olympics performance, and Megan herself was all too happy to reshare the video after the US Olympic Gymnastics Team took home the gold medal — bringing Biles’ total to 38. In the video, Biles shows off her nails (“check”), hair (“check”), and makeup (“face pretty”) along with her star-spangled leotard. Megan, in reposting the video on Twitter (never going to call it “X”), added a trio of heart-eye emojis.

In addition to shooting a commercial with a horse to promote NBC’s Olympics coverage, Meg’s also showed off her patriotism by announcing that she’ll be performing at Kamala Harris’ upcoming campaign rally in Atlanta. With plans to “stream Harris’ speech on Facebook, YouTube and the FOX Local App” according to Fox 5 Atlanta, that could mean a chance for those of us not in The Big Peach to follow along.

“Where Them Girls At” is the fourth song from Meg’s new album, Megan, which dropped a little over a month ago on June 30 via Megan’s own independent imprint Hot Girl Productions with distribution through Warner. The song is hugely popular on TikTok, for exactly the reason that Biles used it in her video, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see her win spark a resurgence. You can hear it in full below.

Snoop Dogg Blew Off Simone Biles’ Mom Years Ago And She Let Him Know About It At The 2024 Olympics

As of this post, the United States is crushing it at the 2024 Olympics, as the US is tied with host country France for the most total medals, with 14. Perhaps the most visible American at the games, though, has been Snoop Dogg, as an official torch bearer and member of NBC’s Olympics broadcast team.

That came back to (playfully) bite him in the (figurative) butt, though, as Snoop found himself (literally) face-to-face with a (low-stakes) demon from his past.

As part of NBC’s coverage, Snoop and Hoda Kotb had a chat with some members of star gymnast Simone Biles’ family. At one point during the segment, Kotb mentioned in reference to Biles’ mother, “Snoop, I don’t know if you know this, but Simone and you have known each other for a long time, right, Nellie?”

Nellie then told her story: “I remember, I will never forget that we met you in Times Square [in] 2010, and you said, ‘cause we asked for a picture, and you said, ‘Two minutes.’ One, two, and you were gone.”

There was nothing bitter about the good-natured call-out, as everybody had a good laugh over the anecdote. Check out the clip, which took place during the opening ceremony, below.

Snoop Dogg Trolled By Simone Biles’ Mom For Snubbing Them Years Ago

Snoop Dogg was called out by Simone Biles’ mom, Nellie Biles, during an opening ceremony interview with NBC at the Paris Olympics. The iconic gymnast’s mother recalled she and her daughter asking Snoop for a picture during a trip to New York City back in 2010. Despite promising to hook them up, he apparently snubbed them just minutes later.

“I will never forget that we met you in Times Square. 2010. And you said—’cause we asked for a picture—two minutes. One, two, and you were gone [laughs],” Nellie joked. Snoop laughed off the remark as the interview moved on to another topic. Snoop has been commentating on the 2024 Olympics for NBC and Peacock.

Additionally, he served as a torchbearer for the opening ceremony. Speaking about the honor afterward, he recalled seeing Muhammad Ali at the Olympics in 1996. “It was emotional for all of us to see the champ holding that torch and walking up there,” he said. “This is my own version of it. I don’t want to get too emotional, but I know that this is special. This says a lot about America as far as where we’re at in this world […] I would have never dreamed of nothing like this.” Check out the clip of Biles’ mom speaking with Snoop Dogg below.

Simone Biles’ Mom Speaks With Snoop Dogg

As for Simone Biles, she sustained a lower left leg injury during qualifications on Saturday but endured to put together a strong performance regardless. Be on the lookout for further updates on Snoop Dogg as well as Simone Biles and the 2024 Paris Olympics on HotNewHipHop.

The ‘Cowboy Carter’ Herself, Beyoncé, Introduces Team USA In The 2024 Paris Olympics Commercial

The 2024 Paris Olympics games have begun. From Snoop Dogg’s carrying of the torch to Lady Gaga, Celine Dion, and Gojira’s trending performances, cameos featuring musicians are in abundance.

But in typical fashion, Beyoncé surprised the world with a patriotic promotional video that nearly crashed the internet. Yesterday (July 26), while after everyone processed the dazzling opening ceremony, NBC Olympics & Paralympics dropped their Team USA introduction video lead by none other than the Cowboy Carter herself, Bey.

In the visual, Beyoncé dressed in fully customized Americana regalia fit for the now reigning rodeo queen as a reimagined version of her song “Ya Ya” soundtracked the moment.

Beyoncé’s entry into country music, often viewed as the most red-blooded American genre, wasn’t exactly appreciated at the time. Despite the tension from naysayers, the Houston native preserved and make musical history along the way. The true American way.

This complex dynamic of who is considered to be a proper representation of America made its way into the promotional clip as Beyoncé said: “These hopes and dreams. These superstars that represent us. The people of this big, bold, beautiful, complicated nation.”

Call it what you want, but this type of alignment couldn’t have been more divine.

SZA Relives Her Freakishly Flexible Gymnast Dreams With Simone Biles In The New 2024 Paris Olympics Promo Video

Similar to professional sports, music is a competitive arena. The 2024 Paris Olympics has only heightened the tension in the air. But the lighthearted mashups of competitors in the games and music’s biggest stars has shown just how interwoven things are.

Last month, Snoop Dogg vowed to give up smoke (but for real this time) to cover the showdowns. Yesterday (July 1), SZA relived her inner gymnast dreams with Simone Biles.

In the pair’s sit down, SZA showed off her freakishly flexible skills in a friendly handstand battle. When asked about her abilities, the “Saturn” singer revealed to Biles that before pursuing a career in music, she trained to be a gymnast. Biles then asked what made her leave the life of an athlete behind.

“When it was clear to me that I wasn’t going to be a national gymnast,” she said. “I was like, ‘Ok, let me see what I can do. See what else I could do.”

SZA took to Instagram to share the episode and praise Biles. “I was SO honored to hang out with you, Simone Biles 🥹🤸🏾‍♀️🐐,” she wrote. “THIS FELT LIKE A FEVER DREAM. Good luck at your THIRD Olympic Games ! 🤞🏾🏅#ParisOlympics.”
