Rick Rosses Flashes Car Show Prize

Rick Ross loves cars. In fact, Rick Ross loves cars so much that last year he started his own car show. The Rick Ross Promise Land Car & Bike Show was launched last year at the musician’s Georgia estate. Last year’s five winners (plus The Turkey Hut food stall) went home with a diamond-encrusted key worth $5,000. The event was also attended by celebrities galore, making for an unforgettable day for those in attendance.

But the Rick Ross Promise Land Car & Bike Show is back for 2023. The event, once again held at Ross’ estate in Fayetteville, Georgia, will be held on June 3. Ross has been heavily promoting the event in recent days and dropped some white-hot details about what’s in store. That included revealing the grand prize, as well as some of the guest performances that will be adding to the festivities.

Key Necklace For Winners And A Lil Wayne Performance

Let’s start with the prize for the 2023 show. Taking to Instagram, Ross showed off the diamond-encrusted keys that would be given away. Similar in style to the 2022 prize, the key is covered in diamonds and bears the RR mark on one side. The key itself is reportedly 14-carat gold. It’s safe to assume they are worth something similar to the $5,000 mark of the 2022 keys. Though maybe not, as Ross says the 2023 prize is “four times bigger than last year’s”. However, these keys come pre-loaded onto some iced-out chains, making for some awesome drip.

But Ross wasn’t only flashing off the keys. He also revealed that the 2023 event would feature a performance from Lil Wayne. “The hot boy, you better believe it – Lil Tunechi,” Ross said in his video. While many celebrities were (and likely will be) in attendance, Ross is clearly going to all out to make this year’s show bigger and better. Ross will also be performing, making this an unmissable event for car and music fans alike. The Rick Ross Promise Land Car & Bike Show will run from 11am to 6pm on June 3. You already know that HotNewHipHop will have all the best rides and celeb sightings from the event.

Conway The Machine Songs: Rapper’s Best Collabs

Conway The Machine has created well over a thousand songs throughout his career. An American rapper based out of Buffalo, New York, he’s a member of the famous Griselda crew. The group has spearheaded the revival of the East Coast underground scene alongside the likes of Westside Gunn and Benny the Butcher. Spending time in jail at the age of 23, Conway used the experience as motivation to spur his rap career. He has utilized collaborations throughout his career, working with rappers that capitalize a sound rooted in the streets of New York.

There’s no doubt that New York no longer runs the American hip-hop scene. With the bling era coming to a close, much of the allure of the Big Apple’s sound died with it. However, there are still pockets of rappers who provide a modern take on the ’90s era of New York hip-hop. One of these pockets was founded in 2014, when Westside Gunn created Griselda Records. Thirty-two-years-old at the time, Conway was the first rapper that Westside Gunn would bring on.

Griselda Records’ lyrical heavyweight released God Don’t Make Mistakes, in March of 2022. Conway was as vulnerable as ever on the record, picturing his trying childhood. He references the deaths of his son and cousin, personal bouts with alcoholism, and being abused at 10 months old. In fact, Conway The Machine has long been one of the more lyrically compelling rappers out. In an interview with Billboard, he stated, “I’m usually more bottled up and keep my personal stuff and shortcomings in life to myself personally, but this was the album for me to (not) do that.” With fans soon anticipating a new record, we’re going to take a look at some of Conway The Machine’s best collaborations on songs to date.

“Chanel Pearls” ft. Jill Scott (2022)

Predominately known for collaborating with other rappers, “Chanel Pearls” saw Conway push his boundaries by working with an iconic female vocalist. Scott made her name in the late ’90s to early ’00s, curating groovy soul cuts such as “Golden” and “A Long Walk.” She was best-known for creating slow and sensual music in the R&B space, releasing multiple multi-platinum projects.

However, the track sees Scott detour from her usual style. Rather than utilizing her booming vocals, she meets Conway’s energy with an energetic rap verse. The two rap about their shared hardships growing up. Conway states, “My life a series of drama just like them HBO shows / When I die, I’m goin’ out like the pharoah, drape me in gold.”

“John Woo Flick” ft. Benny The Butcher & Westside Gunn” (2022)

The most commercially successful track off of God Don’t Make Mistakes, the Griselda heavy hitters came together for yet another iconic song. “John Woo Flick” pays direct homage to the legendary Hong Kong action movie director. Featuring a looping sample and an incumbered drum pattern, the lyricism of the trio takes the forefront. The three flex about their wealth on the song, reflecting on how far they’ve each come. Conway states, “Now I’m in the Mayback sippin’ a Spade mimosa.” Standing on top of New York, it’s an iconic rags to riches anthem.

With Conway branching out with Drumwork Music Group, he had recently left Griselda Records. “John Woo Flick” shut down reports that his relationship with Westside Gunn was strained. While the two are no longer under the same label, they’ve made it clear that they’re still brothers for life.

“Scatter Brain” ft. J.I.D & Ludacris (2021)

Conway The Machine’s most commercially successful song to date, J.I.D and Ludacris each contribute fantastic verses on the backend. The day before the track released, the world witness Ludacris flying a car into space in the exhilarating Fast & Furious 9 trailer. A day later, he’s flexing hard on Conway’s track. There wasn’t anyone more deserving of the blockbuster feature than Conway, who’s meticulously been developing as an MC through pure grit over the past decade. Featuring an eerie beat, all three of them are talking their s**t from start to finish. “Scatter Brain” was the last single released before 2021’s La Maquina. The song is about to surpass 50 million streams on Spotify alone.

“200 Pies” ft. 2 Chainz (2021)

Another song off of Conway The Machine’s La Maquina, “200 Pies,” features Atlanta Hall of Famer 2 Chainz. A relatively mellow beat produced by The Alchemist, it’s interesting to hear 2 Chainz over a more minimally produced beat. In fact, it’s probably the best version of him we had heard in a while. The two trade bars throughout, with Chainz stating, “I’m a money-getter, business leader, vibe-reader.” His ability to garner features from household names speaks volumes to his notoriety with hip-hop circles.

Conway references Drumwork Music Group, a record label which he founded himself. He states, “Build the next powerhouse record label, that was the next plan / Drumwork like Death Row in the 90s mixed with Def Jam.” With 2 Chainz being a multi-business tycoon, Conway makes it clear that he’s looking to follow in his footsteps by being more than just a rapper.

“Lemon” ft. Method Man (2020)

Conway The Machine’s “Lemon” features iconic Wu-Tang legend Method Man. The song displays venom and raw skill from start to finish, with production chops from Daringer and Beat Butcha. With Pray For Paris and The Price of Tea in China elevating Griselda to pristine relevance in mid-2020, Conway The Machine lived up to the pressure on the song “Lemon,” refusing to be a weak link of any sorts. Method Man is potent throughout, stating, “I use the system / you cowards use euphemisms / Women call me Super Daddy, my powers is supervision / Who gave you permission to speak?

“Anza” ft. Armani Caesar (2020)

Featuring production chops from Murda Beatz, “Anza” sees Conway and Armani floating over a heavy 808. More traditionally rooted in trap compared to Conway’s usual sound, the two Griselda Records headliners flow seamlessly over the beat. “Anza” is a primary example of Conway looking to elevate his sound beyond the touted sample looping associated with the New York rap scene. The result is surprisingly great, with Armani delivering one of her better verses.

“Tear Gas” ft. Lil Wayne & Rick Ross (2022)

Throughout much of God Don’t Make Mistakes, Conway The Machine references his life-altering shooting as a catalyst rather than a deterrent for his rap career. Back in 2012, he was shot in the back of the head and neck, which paralyzed the right half of his face. As he references throughout the project, there was a significant social fallout after the incident. His supposed close friends were quick to turn, doubting that Conway would ever be able to become relevant as an MC.

“Tear Gas” sees Conway reflect on his legacy as a rapper. He states, “Probably won’t get my flowers while I can smell ’em / It’s gon take my untimely demise ‘fore they realize I was a legend.” However, he makes it clear that his career is only just getting started. Bringing in Rick Ross and Lil Wayne in itself is a statement of how far he’s come since the incident. Every verse is fantastic, as the three bounce off each other seamlessly.

NLE Choppa’s “Cottonwood 2” Album Is Here, Featuring Kevin Gates, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, And More

Another New Music Friday (April 14) is upon us, and though two of the biggest releases of the week came from female artists like Nicki Minaj and Doja Cat, we’ve got plenty of male entertainers to give flowers too as well today. Among them is NLE Choppa, whose follow-up to his 2019 project, Cottonwood, arrived on DSPs at midnight. On the original, 10-track effort, the Memphis native worked with just Blueface and Meek Mill, but this time around, his roster of collaborators has become considerably more impressive.

Of course, we’ve already heard Choppa work with 2Rare on their “DO IT AGAIN” single, and he came together with rap legend Lil Wayne on “AIN’T GONNA ANSWER” ahead of Cottonwood 2 as well. Aside from those, the release’s other singles include “MO UP FRONT,” “IN THE UK,” and “CHAMPIONS.” There was also “SLUT ME OUT,” which landed the 20-year-old in some hot water after dog walking Sukihana and Sexyy Red in the accompanying remix’s visual earlier this month.

NLE Choppa Shines in the “TALK DIFFERENT” Music Video

As for previously unheard joint efforts, the 22-track album boasts “COLD GAME” with Rick Ross, “ON GOD” featuring Queen Naija,” and “DISABILITY CHECKS” alongside Polo G and G Herbo. Other noteworthy guests tapped by Choppa are Duke Deuce, Kevin Gates, Fivio Foreign, Lola Brooke, and Modesty. We also hear some impressive solo work from the rising star on his latest release, including titles like “ALL I KNOW,” “PRETTY BROWN,” and “THUG IT OUT.”

Meek Mill’s Atlanta Mansion Sale To Rick Ross For $4.2 Million Marks New Beginning

Meek and Rick

Rick Ross made a $4.2 million cash purchase of Meek Mill’s Atlanta mansion, following the rapper’s pardon for past criminal charges. The sale could mark a fresh start for Meek’s career. Rick Ross And Killer Mike Showed Off Their Comedic Chops In ‘Dave’s Latest Cameo-Packed Episode

Lil Dicky’s tour stopped in Atlanta for this week’s cameo-packed episode of Dave, leading to appearances from some of the city’s most recognizable faces. The plot revolves around Dave and GaTa‘s efforts to retrieve Rick Ross‘ stolen chain after a night at the strip club as Dave agonizes over possible Twitter beef with Killer Mike. Dave tries to get Usher and Lil Gotit, Mike’s fellow Atlantans, to assist before he goes to confront the man himself at a Black business brunch (don’t worry… he was invited!).

The episode gave Ross and Mike, two charmingly effective comedians in their own right, a chance to really flex their funny muscles alongside Lil Dicky, playing off of his neurotic energy with a combination of sanguine interest and outright confusion. Mike really gets the upper hand on Dave Burd’s heightened self-parody, conning Dave into giving the money he didn’t have to ransom Ross’s missing chain to support the cause. The show’s fans certainly seemed to enjoy Dave’s Atlanta-based misadventures:

Of course, if you’ve been following Rick on social media at all, you know the man born Leonard Williams is about as naturally funny as a human being can be. From self-gardening his massive estate to save money, to keeping a herd of buffaloes as pets, to avoiding Teslas because he doesn’t trust self-driving cars, he’s a walking meme — and seems to be a pretty good sport about it. Just check out his reaction to almond milk.

For more about season three of Dave, check out our interview with the show’s creator and star Dave Burd (aka Lil Dicky).

Rick Ross Cops Meek Mill’s Mansion For A Light $4.2M

Meek Mill finally found a buyer for his Georgia mansion. Over the past two years, the rapper attempted to push the sale of the estate with little success. However, it turns out that the person who had an interest in the property is someone who he holds close to his heart. TMZ reports that Rick Ross purchased the property for $4.2 million. Still, Meek apparently wasn’t aware that the head honcho of the label that started his career was the one who scooped it up.

Ross’s realtor, Alisha Gillooly, confirmed that the MMG boss paid for the house in all cash. “I’ve been working to make an impact in the luxury market and this did just that,” Gillooly said. The Luxe pad is filled with amenities, from a tennis court, jacuzzi, swimming pool, movie theatre, and a sauna. It’s unclear what plans Ross has with the new pad but we could imagine it’s a home that’s fit for a boss. So far, Rick Ross hasn’t publicly acknowledged the sale but Meek Mill did a few days prior to news of Ross’ purchase.

Meek Mill Reacts To Rick Ross’ Sale

A few days prior to the announcement, Meek took to Twitter to celebrate the sale. “I sold that house that quick… It was for sale for like 2 years,” he wrote. “I knew it would soon as I posted it too!” Earlier this year, the rapper posted a virtual tour of the home as he flirted with the idea of becoming a realtor himself. However, he didn’t realize who purchased the home until TMZ came out with their report. “Sold Rozay the big dish estate,” he wrote. “I ain’t even know he bought this lol.”

Ross’ purchase is the latest development in his reconciliation with Meek Mill. As fans suspected the two were at odds in recent years, the Expensive Pain star brought out the MMG founder on stage during the 10-year anniversary concert for Dreams & Nightmares. Shortly after, the two joined forces in the studio where they previewed a new collaboration. Hopefully, we’ll hear that soon. Check out Meek Mill’s post above.

Rick Ross Has Some Fun On The Water In Jamaica

Rick Ross seems to have enjoyed his time in Jamaica. Ross was in the country to perform at the Sandz Caribbean Music Festival over the weekend. Ross was one of the headliners at the festival. Additionally, Ross could be seen on social media taking in the many sights and sounds Jamaica has to offer. In addition to his music career, Ross is perhaps best known for his love of luxury items. However, that doesn’t mean the “hustlin’” rapper can’t enjoy more down-to-earth activities as well.

DJ Akademiks recently took to Instagram to share a video of Ross’s trip to the Caribbean country. The video shows Ross and two other men tubing while a fourth man drives the boat. Ross’s Jamaican adventure was clearly a success. There are many tourist attractions in Jamaica to occupy one’s time. But these activities often have little resemblance to the day-to-day life of Jamaicans. However, Ross was intent on getting an authentic Jamaican experience during his trip. Indeed, he held a press conference shortly after his arrival to discuss the activities he wanted to partake in. “I just want to absorb that real Jamaican vibe,” he said. “I let everybody know as soon as I land, I want to go by the best fish spot,”

Rick Ross Takes In Authentic Jamaican Experience

Additionally, Ross also discussed his desire go rafting in Jamaica’s famous waters. “I told them the next day I want to go ride water rafting, I want some real curry chicken and oxtails. I want live to life. We only have one life.” Elsewhere, photos were taken of Ross enjoying a drink on the beach. Other highlights from the trip include a humorous mix-up. One fan mistook Ross for fellow hip-hop superstar Drake. However, Rozay responded to the case of mistaken identity by claiming he and Drake are identical twins.

Furthermore, Ross clearly has an appreciation for Jamaican culture. In 2020, he collaborated with Bob Marley’s grandson, Skip Marley, on the track “Make Me Feel.” Additionally, last year, Ross was filmed trying his hand at a Jamaican accent during a recording session. Let us know what you think of Ross’ vacation, in the comments below.
