Usher’s back in full promo and music mode these days, dropping a new single with 21 S*vage and Summer Walker and enjoying his Las Vegas residency. Recently, to talk about upcoming plans, a new album, and all that’s going on in his life, he sat down for a cover interview with VIBE magazine. Moreover, the R&B superstar reflected on a lot across his storied career, including the warring sides of his personality and what his experiences have taught him. However, he also backtracked on famous lines from “Confessions Part II,” and did so to many fans’ amusement on social media. They thought that the most difficult challenge in Mr. Raymond’s life was telling the girl she loves that he’s having a baby with a woman he barely knows, as the song goes.

Jokes aside, Usher said”the hardest thing that [he’s] ever had to do” isn’t that, but rather just being single. “The idea of creating a life with someone is what I would like to do, maybe because I didn’t have or didn’t see that,” the 44-year-old remarked. And I get to remedy that idea by having an incredible partnership. I can then have the thing that I ultimately wanted to see.”

Overall, it seems like this obstacle in the crooner’s way is due to the fact that he doesn’t like to be alone. He previously claimed that he was only under house arrest because he took charges for Chrisean. “Y you think their is no warrant for her arrest. Y would I let her stay in my house when I’m stuck in another state and I got my BM ready to drive me with the kids,” he wrote, “Rock is out Jaidyn is in it’s that simple. The best female is gone start none personal. I said no I’ll take the deal an plead guilty cuz her name is all in the work.”

Recently, the rapper has also faced a great deal of backlash for a clip he shared to social media. In the clip, he’s seen encouraging his 6-year-old son to engage with dancers’ “booty cheeks” in their living room. The boy didn’t seem interested, prompting his father to ask him whether or not he’s gay. After the young boy claimed he’s not, the father celebrated. Many users found the clip offensive, and believed his behavior bordered on predatory.

Osaka and her boyfriend, rapper Cordae, welcomed their firstborn into the world today in Los Angeles. Both Osaka and the baby are doing well, as confirmed by sources who told PEOPLE. Cordae and Naomi Osaka announced the pregnancy back in January via Instagram.

The love story between 25-year-old rapper Cordae and 25-year-old four-time Grand Slam singles champion Naomi Osaka began before 2020. The power couple is going strong, with a new addition to the budding family arriving today. Osaka and Cordae aren’t married, but that could be in the works after the birth of their baby girl. As for a potential name for the newborn, Naomi offered a little insight into her thought process to PEOPLE: “We have been discussing names. Darius was invited to the party by his brother Sarunas. A little over two months later, Darius posted Palmer on his page, showering her with love on her birthday.

U.S. Attorney Damian Williams stated in a press release that “Caswell Senior is not just a notorious recording artist, but he is also a high-profile leader of a vicious street gang and a magnet for gang violence.” He continued, “At a crowded Miami house party, Senior personally fired a gun that seriously injured and could have killed a victim, inciting a shootout.” “Senior’s stature in the community was central to Gorilla Stone’s successful recruitment and nationwide expansion,” Williams explained, “Today’s sentencing — along with the other significant sentences that have been imposed in this case — shows once again that gang life is not worth it and will lead to many years in prison.”

In his letter to the judge, Casanova renounced his ties to the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation gang. This reportedly led to a bloody prison altercation between him and another inmate at Essex County Correction Facility in Newark earlier this month. His lawyer has previously stated that him cutting ties with the gang, “has and will continue to pose a threat to his life which will make his future incarceration far more onerous than contemplated by our judicial system.”

Erykah Badu Reflects On J. Dilla’s Greatness

Erykah Badu is currently on her “Unfollow Me” tour with rapper Yasiin Bey (formerly known as Mos Def). During her stop in San Diego, CA, she opened up about her musical relationship with the late J Dilla. Via Detroit rapper Frank Nitt’s Insta feed, she talked about the rap producer at length. “He didn’t really talk a lot,” Erykah said when a fan asked about what it was like to work with him. “He was very quiet… [Communicated] through the music, mostly.”

She also called J Dilla “super organized.” She referenced a detail that all of J Dilla’s Coca-Cola cans in his fridge were aligned so the logo was facing out. Dilla was an engineer through and through, and it showed. Erykah continues by saying he was generous and merciful. He taught people in the music industry, but Erykah Badu also says he would let others get away with stuff. “Like, he let a lot of people get away with, like, biting his sh*t,” Badu says. J Dilla died in 2006 from lupus complications. But his resolve impressed Erykah: “This is the most important thing; he was sick, but nobody knew. That speaks volumes.”

J Dilla was a tremendous hip-hop producer. His career, which started in the ’90s, included collaborating with A Tribe Called Quest and Common. He became a part of the Soulquarians collective, with Erykah Badu also being a member. Mama’s Gun, Badu’s second album from 2000, features the track “Didn’t Cha Know.” Dilla produced that track for his collective teammate, creating a solid friendship built around music. Recently, Logic claimed he had an entire album full of J Dilla beats that he eventually scrapped.

Erykah Badu’s “Unfollow Me” Tour is speaking to the current rampant cancel culture. Breaking down the meaning with VIBE a few weeks back, the Neo Soul artist lets her fans know if they don’t agree with what she says, then they should simply unsubscribe. “Whenever someone says something in the comments, they don’t agree; I don’t care, unfollow me, doesn’t matter.” She says she’s on a journey and that her audience is on their own journey, and that that’s all okay. Eminem seems to have faced difficulties in finding a woman he can trust. A close friend revealed that the renowned rap superstar is still deeply affected by his ex-wife, Kim. The tumultuous nature of Eminem and Kim’s relationship has been extensively documented. Over the years, tales of the marriage have appeared in his music and elsewhere. The couple initially met during their high school years in 1989. In 1995, they had a daughter named Hailie. They got married in 1999 but divorced in 2001. They briefly remarried in 2006, but that ended in divorce again a mere three months later.

According to RadarOnline, an allegedly trustworthy source informed them that Eminem has no intentions of getting married again. Apparently, the rap icon has not been involved in a serious relationship since his intense romance with Kim. The source stated, “When Eminem and Kim were together, he had very little money. Marshall is now extremely wary of a woman’s intentions for wanting to be with him.” Despite the challenges in their romantic relationship, Eminem and Kim have managed to maintain an amicable connection. This report about Eminem’s reluctance to trust emerged shortly after the rapper became a father-in-law. Last week, his adopted daughter Alaina got married in Detroit, Michigan. The wedding took place on June 9. Eminem walked his daughter down the aisle during the ceremony. Alaina, whom Eminem affectionately calls “Lainey,” tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend Matt Moller. Hailie Jade Scott, Alaina’s younger sister, even participated as a bridesmaid. Alaina expressed her joy on Instagram about the event. “June 9, 2023, simply one of the best days of my life,” she wrote. “In this lifetime and in the next, my soul will always find yours.”
