Boosie Badazz Reacts To YFN Lucci’s Plea Deal Offer

Boosie Badazz recently shared his opinion on Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis offering YFN Lucci a plea deal. Earlier today, it was revealed that the rapper has chosen to turn down the deal. This means that he’s now headed to trial to fight the RICO charges. The deal would see Lucci serve 17 years behind bars if he had accepted. He would have had to plead guilty to felony murder, racketeering, aggravated assault, and violation of the street gang terrorism and prevention act.

On Instagram Live, Boosie claims that he knows Lucci doesn’t deserve the charges he’s been hit with. He explains that Lucci “goes home every night to his family,” saying that he’s “doing none of that sh*t [that he’s accused of].” Boosie also says, “it’s a bad RICO, dog.” He goes on to question statements made by a witness, claiming that they sound as though they’ve been paid.

Boosie Says Witness Sounds “Paid”

Lucci’s attorneys, Drew Findling and Gabe Banks, told TMZ that they believe the plea deal offered was “absurd.” They also claimed the DA is prioritizing “newer, high-profile cases that have completely monopolized the Court’s resources” over Lucci’s case. The attorneys noted the DA’s “utter inability to prosecute complex cases.” Lucci has denied his charges, and now he plans to fight them. His attorneys say, “Despite the obstacles consistently placed in the way of Mr. Bennett’s constitutional right to a speedy and fair trial, we continue to be ready and prepared to defend these false allegations.”

Despite speculation that he may choose to do so, Lucci refused to testify against Young Thug amid his own RICO charges in March. Earlier this week, it was reported that Young Thug, Gunna, and Lil Baby were added to the witness list in the YFN RICO trial. Gunna has faced a massive amount of public backlash following his decision to accept a plea deal in the YSL RICO trial. Since his release from prison, he’s been dealing with rampant accusations that he “snitched” on Young Thug.

“The Idol” Praise: Sharon Stone Applauds The Weeknd & Lily-Rose Depp As HBO Series Slammed For Nudity

The Idol‘s big debut at Cannes Film Festival last week made one thing abundantly clear – not everyone is a fan of The Weeknd’s first TV series. The Canadian multi-talent stars in the new HBO series alongside 23-year-old Lily-Rose Depp, who’s pulled into the cult-like world of fame and fortune to fulfill her dreams of becoming a massive pop star. The previously released trailers have hinted that plenty of salacious content is in store, and the fact that Euphoria director Sam Levinson is also on board led viewers to go in with an “expect the unexpected” mindset.

Still, it seems many were left upset by the near-constant nude imagery of Depp, whose breasts and bottom are reportedly shown off in every episode. For the most part, the negative reactions have outweighed the positive ones. However, Hollywood icon Sharon Stone’s Instagram Story lit up with praise for The Idol and its leads. “I just watched the first two episodes of @theidol. @lilyrose_depp and Abel (@theweeknd) [are] so sure-footed,” she wrote a few days ago.

Sharon Stone Shares Massive Praise for The Idol

“Sam Levinson addresses the root of crisis in entertainment,” the 65-year-old further remarked. “Which comes first, the brilliance? Or the heartache?” Obviously, not everyone agrees with her take. However, seeing as Stone has appeared in projects like Catwoman, The Quick and the Dead, Casino, and the Basic Instinct franchise throughout her career, she certainly knows a thing or two about the industry and its shadow side.

Interestingly enough, it was actually Stone’s Basic Instinct character who Depp drew on for inspiration, as the young starlet told Entertainment Tonight. Rather than directly taking influence from pop stars who already exist, she also looked at figures like Gene Tierney and Lauren Bacalls. HBO’s The Idol is set to premiere next Sunday (June 4). Halle Bailey Cried Seeing Young Black Girls’ Reaction To “The Little Mermaid”

Disney initially announced the casting of Halle Bailey as the lead in their live-action remake of The Little Mermaid in 2019. Unfortunately, since Halle is a black woman, it ignited a firestorm of controversy. Her community understandably rejoiced at the success of the talented 23-year-old. However, racists took to social media to spew their objections towards the push for diversity. Yara Shadidi faced a similar backlash when she landed the role of Tinkerbell in Peter Pan & Wendy. However, both young actresses have skillfully silenced their critics with their exceptional performances.

After much anticipation, Bailey’s debut film finally premiered in Hollywood earlier this month, marking a significant milestone in her career. The general public has had to wait a bit longer to watch it. However, a select group of celebrity friends, including Offset, Chlöe Bailey, and Kelly Rowland, were personally invited to an exclusive early screening. Many influential figures were able to attend the premiere. Afterward, many took to Twitter to share their enthusiastic thoughts on The Little Mermaid.

With the release of The Little Mermaid drawing near, Halle Bailey is looking back at her remarkable journey, emotion-filled journey. Her audition for the lead role was reportedly so powerful that it brought everyone in the room to tears. The film has sparked many important discussions about representation. Over the last few months, Bailey’s resilience has shone through. Despite facing backlash, she found strength in her grandparents’ words of encouragement. They expressed how her portrayal would empower their community. They said she would inspire young black and brown girls to see themselves represented in a meaningful way. Their support has fueled Bailey’s determination to make a lasting impact through her role in the film.

In a recent interview with Glamour, Halle opened up about seeing videos of young black girls reacting to her as Ariel. “When I saw those for the first time, I just cried,” she told the magazine. “I was sobbing uncontrollably. The fact that these babies are looking at me and feeling the emotions that they’re feeling is a really humbling, beautiful thing.” The actress will no doubt continue to inspire more children when the film opens this week. Ice Cube On AI Music: “I Don’t Wanna Hear That Bullshit”

While the recent advancements in technology certainly have their benefits, it’s hard to deny that some of them are terrifying. Over the past few months, an increased number of artificial intelligence-generated music has been coming to the forefront, whether in the form of artists covering unlikely songs (such as Drake on Ice Spice’s “Munch (Feelin’ U)”) or using the voices of dead rhymers to cover tracks from other artists made long after their passing. We’ve heard several public figures using their platform to voice the dangers of AI. The latest is Ice Cube, who candidly shared his opinion during this past Friday’s (May 19) episode of the Full Send podcast.

After one of the hosts asked the NWA alum if he heard the recently circulating The Weeknd and Drake AI collaboration, Cube made it abundantly clear that he “doesn’t want to hear” such things. When it was argued that “everyone on the internet” has been listening to the track, the Californian shot back, “Yeah, I don’t wanna hear that bullshit. He should sue whoever made it.” When it was suggested that the technology is coming for his career too, he made it known that he won’t hesitate to take legal action against anyone who tries.

Ice Cube isn’t Feeling Music’s AI Advancements

“Yeah, and I’mma sue the muthaf*cka who made it and the people and the platform who play it,” the “No Vaseline” hitmaker declared. “It’s like a sample, you know what I mean? Somebody can’t take your original voice and manipulate it without having to pay.”

As HipHopDX notes, others who have spoken out about their issues with AI lately include will.i.am. “We all have voices, and everyone’s compromised because there are no rights or ownership to your facial math or your voice frequency,” he told DJ Whoo Kid on SiriusXM, addressing the dangers that face everyday people too. “So, forget songs. Banks. People calling up your bank pretending to be you.”

Vic Mensa Says He’s Praying For Ja Morant

The Memphis Grizzlies suspended superstar Ja Morant on Sunday, pending an NBA investigation. It came as a result of, for the second time in 2023, Morant appearing on Instagram Live with a gun. The first time occurred in March at a Denver nightclub. That incident led to an eight-game suspension for Morant. The second, which went viral on social on May 13, appeared to occur while Morant was cruising with longtime friend Davonte Pack. Morant has since released a statement about the incident.

The NBA world, and beyond, has reacted to the news of Morant’s suspension. While he has had support in one form or another from the likes of JJ Redick and BlocBoy JB, many of the reactions have been negative. Stephen Jackson called him a “moron” while Stephen A. Smith said that Morant is “more associated with guns than he is with winning.” Meanwhile, Kwame Brown called him the “stupidest mfer in the league.”

Vic Mensa Hopes Morant Overcomes

The latest figure to share their take on the situation is rapper Vic Mensa, who was interviewed by TMZ in New York. Mensa’s take focused more on supporting Morant than actively discussing the situation. “I think God blessed Ja Morant, man,” Mensa told TMZ. “I pray that that brother gets it together and he figures it out because he’s too brilliant and so talented. He’s got a gift, he’s got a real gift. So, I don’t want to see him have to go down that path because he’s so good. I think God blessed him,” he continued. “I’m not gonna say anything to disparage him. There’s enough people doing that.”

It’s unclear how severely Morant will be punished for this latest incident. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said he was “shocked” by the video, and expressed disappointment over Morant’s relapse into such behavior. However, the NBA will have to find a way to show their stance on the issue while also acknowledging that they are a business and Morant is a major revenue draw. Fans have called for everything from no punishment to a full-season suspension. However, this is a developing story and any updates will be found here on HotNewHipHop.

Adam Silver “Shocked” By Ja Morant Video

The Memphis Grizzlies placed Ja Morant on an indefinite suspension on May 14. The decision came after a video of Morant flashing a gun on Instagram Live went viral on social media. Morant served an eight-game suspension during the 2022/23 regular season for the same offense.

However, the NBA declined to comment on the video, opting only to say that they were investigating. It was clear that the league was unwilling to let the latest Morant drama derail one of the biggest NBA Draft Lotteries in recent years. Despite this, the league finally broke its silence on the Morant situation when Commissioner Adam Silver sat down with ESPN.

Silver “Shocked” And Disappointed

There were two aspects to Silver’s reaction – shock and disappointment. “We talked directly about the consequences first,” Silver told ESPN on Tuesday, in regard to Morant’s original suspension. “Before we got to a subsequent potential to have done something wrong, we were very focused on the misconduct that was in front of us at the time. Frankly, most of our conversation was about how incredibly serious the first incident was of waving a firearm on social media. Again, the consequences there — an eight-game suspension — was pretty serious and something that he, at least to me, seemed to take incredibly seriously in that time. And we spoke for a long time about not just the consequences that could have on his career, but the safety issues around it.”

This background led to a frank and candid reaction from Silver about the latest incident involving Morant. “Honestly, I was shocked when I saw this weekend that video,” Silver said. “Now, we’re in the process of investigating it, and we’ll figure out exactly what happened to the best we can. The video is a bit grainy and all that, but I’m assuming the worst.” It’s unclear what punishment the NBA will hand down for this latest incident. Morant is one of the league’s biggest young stars and a major draw for fans and viewers. However, the NBA cannot afford to look as those its players can openly flaunt the league’s disciplinary policies. This is a developing story and any updates can be found here on HotNewHipHop.

Fans Swipe Left On Jonathan Majors And Meagan Good News

Amidst his ongoing legal troubles, it appears that Jonathan Majors is getting back into the dating game. TMZ reported that Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good were in the early stages of a new relationship. According to a witness, the pair were spotted at the Alamo Drafthouse in Los Angeles last weekend.

The initial reaction to the news was fairly cool, with a number of people seeing it as nothing more than a PR move. “Meghan [sic], get out. He’s using you to get black women on his side,” one commentator wrote on TMZ‘s Instagram post. “I don’t think she can clean this up for him. He trying to get the black votes back, once he’s famous again, he will leave her,” theorizes another. Majors is facing numerous charges in relation to allegations stemming from his ex-girlfriend. Majors denies the charges but is expected back in court in June.

Social Media Largely Mocks Rumors

As the news spread, more and more fans dogpiled on the rumored couple. Common rhetoric is that Majors is suddenly dating Black women after very publicly dating a number of white women. “so now that Jonathan Majors got pending criminal charges for choking a bitch out he’s good enough for a sister?? smh,” wrote on Twitter user. “Jonathan Majors going back to the ancestors after the Milk allegations trying to put him back into slavery?? Welp!!” added another.

Furthermore, there is a wide range of messages expressing a variety of opinions. “Last week, y’all tried to unalive Jamie Foxx…… I’M NOT BELIEVING A WORD Y’ALL HAVE TO SAY ABOUT JONATHAN MAJORS AND MEAGAN GOOD.” remarked on Twitter user. “I believe the Jonathan Majors Megan Good tea. Someone quietly spilled that about a week ago but didn’t mention her by name as the woman he was spotted with. Clearly a move to pander to a specific audience tho,” someone else added. It’s clear that fans are not supportive of this relationship for the most part.

Snoop Dogg’s Mind Blown After Conversation With A.I. Model

Artificial intelligence technology in music is all the rage these days, whether for the hype or how much it literally enrages people. Regardless, Snoop Dogg’s already thrown his two cents on the matter, calling its development in music “outta hand” after sharing an A.I. Michael Jackson cover of C-Murder’s “Down For My N***az.” However, this tech is blowing the West Coast legend’s mind no matter what industry it finds itself in. Recently, Snoop went to the 2023 Milken Institute Global Conference, where A.I. and other similar topics took center stage. During his talk, he spoke on talking to an A.I. model like it was nothing, and how that shocked him.

“I got a motherf***in’ A.I. right now,” Snoop Dogg began. “They done made [it] for me, this n***a can talk to me. Like, me and this n***a can hold a real conversation, like for real for real. It’s blowing my mind because I watched movies on this as a kid years ago when I used to see this s**t. I’m like, ‘What is going on?

Snoop Dogg Asks If We’re In An A.I. Disaster Movie After Conversation With Model

“Then I heard that the old dude that created A.I. said ‘This is not safe because the A.I.’s got their own minds and these motherf***ers gon’ start doing their own s**t!’” the 51-year-old continued. “I’m like, ‘Is we in a f***in’ movie right now or what?!’ The f**k, man? Do I need to invest in an A.I. so I can have one with me? Do y’all know, s**t, what the f**k?” Not only that, but Snoop Dogg also commented on the possibility of a collaborative A.I. project between Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls. While he didn’t dismiss the idea of pulling old vocal tracks together for something like that, he wasn’t too keen on their voices being computer-generated.

Meanwhile, an A.I. Biggie cover of Tupac’s “Hit ‘Em Up” saw him hilariously diss himself and Bad Boy. With that in mind, maybe that future that the “Lodi Dodi” MC is hesitant towards might come sooner rather than later. Still, the industry pushback against the abuse of artificial intelligence in music seems to resonate with fans a lot. However, it doesn’t take away from people’s less disrespectful or malicious uses of the technology, which could actually usher in a new era of creativity. Until then, maybe hold off on that investment, Doggfather; it might just clone you for profit. Regardless, come back to HNHH for the latest news and updates on A.I. music and Snoop Dogg.

Kai Cenat Wants To Speak On Nicki Minaj’s “Queen Radio” After Twitch Ban

Nicki Minaj is perhaps best known for getting into heated blowouts with enemies on social media. Still, the Queen of Rap is also known to give out flowers to those who deserve it too. Earlier this month, she did just that to streamer Kai Cenat, who was unfortunately banned on Twitch for “stimulated sexual activity” while playing GTA RP during one of his shows, something that others have faced similar punishment for in the past. While it’s certainly frustrating for one of the platform’s biggest names to be unable to create content for his fans, it helped him get the attention of Minaj, who’s expressed interest in working with him.

“I’m gonna get cute. I’m gonna dress up nice and cute and I’m gonna go on Live with him,” she told listeners on Queen Radio recently. “And speak to him if that’s cool with him. Let me reach out to him and stuff because I really like him. I really like him a lot.” Elsewhere in her broadcast, Minaj publicly pleaded with Twitch to remove Cenat’s ban, which was finally lifted earlier this week.

Kai Cenat Thanks Nicki Minaj for Speaking Out Amid Twitch Ban

Now that the 21-year-old is back doing what he loves, he took a moment to respond to the “Super Freaky Girl” hitmaker’s kind words and request to collaborate. “Auntie Nicki, I see what you said,” he exclaimed during one of his first shows back on the air. “Nicki Minaj said, ‘Why would y’all do that to that boy? Why would y’all ban him?’ She said she gotta get all nice and cute to come on a stream, but Twitch, hold on! This is chess, not checkers. Should I give y’all a big stream like that?” Cenat openly pondered.

“Should I let the Queen come on y’all platform? I’ll go to Queen Radio! If I’m invited, if they want to do anything,” he quietly added. “I’ll just talk to her, one-on-one, audio only.” Would you tune into a Nicki Minaj and Kai Cenat live stream? Coi Leray Admits To Overreacting In Latto Call-Out

Coi Leray recently ruffled some feathers on Twitter for directly calling out Latto for addressing her body on her latest single. However, her more recent tweets indicate a more reflective and conciliatory stance compared to her initial outburst. Still, she made it clear that she doesn’t want people speaking on her name for clout if they don’t actually have beef. While many are still divided on whether the 777 MC intended to diss Leray with her bars, any reference within the rap world was bound to turn heads. Even with that in mind, it seems the backlash also got the “Players” artist quite tiresome of all the drama.

“Maybe I over reacted idk,” Coi Leray tweeted about Latto. “End of the day. Don’t say my name for clicks and likes. Specially if we don’t speak or communicate. I’m not a big blunt small blunt. Don’t compare me to nada. Mention b***hes you actually beef with. Put it on the floor but leave me out of the bs. There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes. y’all don’t be knowing the half of the s**t that goes on in this s**t. But the main goal is ICON S**T . If it don’t make me rich or better person. Stay away.”

Coi Leray Clarifies Latto Beef

Screenshot via Twitter @coi_leray

Of course, this exchange is curious because Coi Leray had previously supported Latto amid her complaints of a “Latto hate train.” However, when she heard her track “Put It On Da Floor” and the bars “Smoking on that gas, blunt big as Coi Leray,” she seemed to forget that exchange. “Latto bye,” she reacted on Twitter. “Here you go taking about my body. Please do not come on here and talk about nobody BODY. Lol like seriously . Out of all things . Lmaooo ya blunt my size ? Lmaooo this s**t is never ending.”

Meanwhile, Iggy Azalea recently had to clear up whether she was beefing with Coi, too. When Iggy tweeted about not understanding people’s endless arguments over nothing online, many thought she referred to the Latto beef. However, she quickly shut that down. “I’m talking about the [people] legit arguing online about trivial ass topics that can never have a clear answer and yet are argued about passionately for hours on end,” she wrote. “Anyone who thinks I’m commenting on anything else only furthers my point that this cannot be reality.” Regardless, log back into HNHH for the latest on Coi Leray and Latto.
