Diddy & His Legal Team Seek Appeal After Court Denies His Release Request

The court previously denied Diddy release from jail on bond on two separate occasions in his sex trafficking case, but it looks like his legal team will continue to fight for it. Moreover, according to court documents obtained by journalist Meghann Cuniff, his lawyers filed a notice of appeal on Monday (September 30) concerning Judge Andrew Carter’s decision to deny their requests for a release under any circumstance ahead of his trial. In addition, Cuniff also reported that a new member joined Sean Combs’ legal team recently: an attorney by the name of Anthony Ricco. We will see in due time whether this appeal is a successful attempt.

According to court documents reportedly obtained by AllHipHop, Diddy’s lawyer Marc Agnifilo stated that they couldn’t do much more to get him out of Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, which Agnifilo described as “horrific” after failed bail attempts and a failed request to move him to Essex County. “Following the September 18, 2024 court appearance, the court ordered a status update from counsel concerning any request related to the location of Mr. Combs’ detention,” the attorney expressed. “At this point, there is no request from counsel that the court take any action.”

Diddy Appeals His Bail Denial

Furthermore, the court allegedly denied Diddy’s bond due to supposed victim intimidation and bribery. Prosecutors claim that he “used his considerable wealth and influence to make victims rely on him financially, for example, by paying for their rent or their cars or by offering them career opportunities. The bail package proposed by defense counsel is insufficient because it fails to adequately protect others from the defendant’s violence, impose measures to prevent and detect obstruction, or prevent the defendant from accessing his vast resources.”

“He’s going to clear his name and we’re going to stand by his side as he does,” Diddy’s lawyer told reporters previously, per CNN. “We believe in him wholeheartedly. He came here to turn himself in. Why doesn’t the government want him to turn himself in? Because then they can’t ask for detention. All we can do is show good faith. He got on a plane and he came here. They arrested a guy who came here to turn himself in.”

Drake Called Out For Top5 Support By Alleged Murder Victim’s Family

For a couple of different reasons, Top5’s release from prison drew a lot of controversy online. Of course, a big and obvious one was how he threatened Kendrick Lamar and Metro Boomin while livestreaming with DJ Akademiks shortly after returning home. But a larger point of contention is how the Toronto rapper (real name Hassan Ali) claimed via social media that Drake paid for his legal fees. For those unaware, he faced trial for the fatal shooting fo 20-year-old Hashim Omar Hashi. Earlier this week. a judge determined that various pieces of evidence were inadmissible in court, so the case stopped there.

However, while Top5 thanked Drake for this, he reportedly edited the post afterward to remove any mention of him. Many believe that this case is one of mistaken identity, as Hashi studied accounting and had no verifiable gang ties. Now, the OVO mogul received some scathing criticism from the victim’s cousin. “Zero clue this was even a thing,” they shared on their Instagram Story. “This s**t hit like a blow to the stomach […] THIS IS THE WILDEST MOVE. WHAT THE F**K ARE YALL DOING @champagnepapi #JusticeForHashim.

Drake Gets Harsh Criticism For Supporting Top5

“Thank you @champagnepapi your version of justice means Hashim’s sister had to watch her brother’s murderer celebrating on TV,” they continued against Drake. “He insisted if that tells you anything about the [caliber] of people we’re dealing with here – during her honeymoon. When I came back from Portland, they told me @ovo40 was one of the good guys, he was really tryna find a solution for what’s going on in the city. THIS IS THE SOLUTION?! Any and everything he does hereafter, every mom that has to hear him sing abt murdering their kid — THAT’S ON YALL!! The blood is on your hands.

As for Top5’s case, he was not the suspected gunman, but rather a passenger alongside whoever shot Hashi from a vehicle. He continues to stand by his innocence in this case and denies any and all ties to any gang. “An innocent man just came home. I hope they find whoever they did that. R.I.P.,” the Toronto MC told press outside of the courthouse after his release.

Hotboii’s Attorney Clarifies Confusion Over Hashtag That Was Mistaken For A Gang

Hotboii was recently released from prison after a three-year RICO bid, and we now have some new details about how he achieved this freedom. Moreover, the Orlando Sentinel reported on Wednesday (September 18) about his lawyer Lyle Mazin and what he had to do in court to get his client out of his legal troubles and dismiss the matter. According to Mazin, the Florida rapper’s case centered around two main offenses. These are the use of electronic communication to promote gangs and possession of a firearm by a person with a conviction history.

For those unaware, authorities accused Hotboii of encouraging guns and gang-promoting lyrical content via Instagram, as well as of possessing a weapon in his vehicle. Allegedly, he led the 438 gang in Orlando, which fought up the Army gang allegedly fronted by 9lokknine. The “NASA” MC’s attorney Lyle Mazin argued in court that 438 is no gang, but rather just a social media hashtag to represent his Pine Hills neighborhood in Orlando. Mazin argued that even his client’s Instagram handle, @itshotboii438, and other posts including that number are just promoting his neighborhood and not any sort of criminal organization or activity.

Hotboii’s “9/11 (First Day Out)”: Stream & Watch The Music Video

“He wasn’t promoting a gang,” Mazin said of his client Hotboii. “He was promoting his label and his music. That’s what he was doing. It’s equivalent to Biggie Smalls, or to Kodak Black, or any major artist promoting their music.” In addition, he argued that his client’s security possessed the weapon in question to protect him from threats against his life allegedly pushed by the aforementioned rival gang. Due to these arguments and others, the court eventually dropped the RICO charges against the Blinded By Death artist, who pleaded guilty of one count of conspiracy as part of a deal with prosecutors.

Meanwhile, we’ll see what else Hotboii does this year to celebrate his freedom. He already dropped a “first day out” single with “9/11,” and we can only guess as to what his priorities look like. Maybe the “Throw In The Towel” creative just wants to lay low with his loved ones before planting his flag again.

Chrisean Rock Wows Fans With Post-Prison Transformation

Earlier this month, Chrisean Rock was released from prison following a three-month stay. Immediately, she reunited with her son and revealed that her top priority was being a good parent. It appears as though she’s been on the right track since her return home, and even formally changed his name to Chrisean Jesus Porter.

Now, the Baddies star has hopped online to share a clip of herself all made up and sporting a new hairstyle. Clearly, she’s feeling herself, and fans are glad to see her back to business as usual. “My favorite back to herself I love to see this,” one fan writes. “That’s all we want to hear,” another notes.

Chrisean Rock Is Back At It After Getting Out Of Prison

While Chrisean’s supporters are certainly happy for the reality star, not everything in her life has been smooth sailing since her release. Earlier this week, she took to Twitter/X to ask her followers for help finding a good rehab facility for her mother Charla. She claimed that Charla has been struggling with addiction, and offered a prayer for her wellbeing. “Mommy you did ya best I love you I’m praying for restoration I love love love you amen amen amen So do anyone know about any great marriage rehabs in DMV pls Dm them !” she wrote in part.

The father of Chrisean’s child, Blueface, is also currently behind bars. Last month, the “Thotiana” rapper was handed a four-year sentence, and he’s since been moved from the Men’s Central Jail in downtown LA to North Kern State Prison in central California. His new mugshot made its rounds online a few weeks back, showcasing what seems to be a fairly drastic physical transformation. What do you think of Chrisean Rock showing off her post-prison transformation? Are you glad to see her back home? What do you think is next for her? Hotboii Celebrates Prison Release Three Years After RICO Conviction

The Florida hip-hop scene got some heartening news this week, as reports emerged that Hotboii has been released from prison. For those unaware, he had turned himself in back in July of 2021 on RICO charges against him and almost three dozen other alleged gang members in the state. Following his conviction, the rapper served around three years of jail time, during which he still released plenty of music from behind bars. Still, the circumstances around this release are still pretty murky, so we encourage you to keep your eyes peeled for any significant updates. After all, this story is still developing and in its early stages in the press cycle.

Furthermore, the last we heard from Hotboii before this reported prison release was the October 2023 track “NASA” produced by ATL Jacob. New music releases became understandably scant ever since he turned himself three years ago, but the fact that they never completely disappeared is at least admirable or satisfying for fans. Other artists don’t connect to the outside world during their terms at all, and others flood the market with their moves in almost unrealistic ways.

Hotboii Reportedly Released From Prison

Clearly, Hotboii doesn’t really fall into any of these two categories, and his case might not compare easily to others in the rap world. For example, this RICO case involved a lot of individuals, and we still don’t know the extent to which his actual career was a factor. Nevertheless, the Orlando native will probably make a more official comeback, perhaps through a track or two. In fact, maybe he follows up 2022’s Blinded By Death quickly with a new album, shorter project, or perhaps something else entirely.

In any case, congratulations are in order. We wish Hotboii the best with his newfound freedom, and hope he can reconnect with family and loved ones with peace and joy. We’ll see what happens with his career, and whether or not the “Throw In The Towel” MC decides to re-plant his flag ASAP or eschews the spotlight altogether. We can’t say we could blame him either way. Since this story still needs further development, make sure to keep an eye out for the next update.

Chrisean Rock Reunites With Son After Being Released From Prison: Watch

Chrisean Rock has had a difficult 2024. The rapper was arrested while attending a hearing for the father of her child, Blueface. She was subsequently accused of possession of controlled dangerous substances with intent to distribute. According to TMZ, she was also accused of failure to have a tax stamp affixed to the substances in question. The rapper faced up to eight years in prison. There were rumors of her being released soon, but no concrete dates were given. It turns out that September 6 was the fateful day. The rapper was set free, and allowed to reunite with her son.

A video of Chrisean Rock holding and kissing her son was uploaded to Instagram. The rapper also wrote a lengthy, heartfelt message about how much her son means to her. “To be with you today,” Rock wrote. “Set free a couple days from your birthday is a blessing.” The rapper was behind bars when her son had his first birthday, and she admitted that missing out is something she’s going to struggle with for a long time. “Missing a significant event like a first birthday can bring feelings of sadness or regret,” she added. “But it’s also an opportunity to reflect.”

Chrisean Rock Regrets Missing Her Son’s First Birthday

Chrisean Rock was initially hesitant to turn herself in because she didn’t want to miss crucial time with her son. She made this point very clear during an Instagram Live prior to her arrest. “I have my son,” she asserted. “The old me would’ve just turned myself in… Right now I gotta play it cautious because, you know, I don’t plan on being in jail while my son is growing.” The cautious plan did not work out, however, and Chrisean Rock wound up having to miss her son’s birthday regardless.

The charges against Chrisean Rock stem from a 2022 incident. She was pulled over by police for an unpaid traffic toll, and the officers in question smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search led to the discovery of roughly one pound of cannabis inside the car. Rock’s next court date is September 27. If convicted on both of the aforementioned counts, the rapper will be behind bars for the better part of a decade.
