Snoop Dogg And Master P Are Reportedly Suing Walmart And Post For Allegedly Sabotaging Their Cereal Sales

Rap icons Master P and Snoop Dogg are filing a lawsuit against Walmart. The two revealed the news in a press conference today, and alleged that Walmart purposely hid their cereal they launched last year with their brand, Broadus Foods.

According to the reported suit, which was filed by attorney Ben Crump, Walmart and major food brand Post partnered with Broadus Foods to distribute the cereal in the super retailer, however, intentionally stocked their cereals in shelves and areas that weren’t immediately visible to customers.

“Broadus Foods is seeking damages suffered by the deceptive trade practices under various causes of action,” reads a press release on Crump’s website.

According to a report from TMZ, Walmart showed the cereal, called Snoop Cereal, to be sold out at various Walmart locations, however, employees reportedly discovered cases of Snoop cereal in the back room of a Walmart store, allegedly uncoded for sales.

At the time of writing, it appears Walmart has not been served with a complaint yet.

“Walmart values our relationships with our suppliers, and we have a strong history of supporting entrepreneurs,” said a Walmart representative to TMZ. “Many factors affect the sales of any given product, including consumer demand, seasonality, and price to name a few. We will respond as appropriate with the Court once we are served with the complaint.”

Additionally, Post also issued a statement to TMZ, claiming that consumer demand did not match what Post and Walmart had initially imagined.

“Post Consumer Brands was excited to partner with Broadus Foods and we made substantial investments in the business. We were equally disappointed that consumer demand did not meet expectations.”

Snoop and Master P were reportedly expecting their cereal to be stacked with other leading brands, however now feel that Post and Walmart only agreed to the partnership to shut them out of the market.

Ahead of his upcoming album AUSTIN, Post Malone just dropped another single from the project titled “Overdrive.” Despite what the song’s title might have you believe, this is actually a softer cut that functions more like a ballad with its instrumentation, tempo, and vocal style. Sure, this is far from the first time that the Texas artist worked with more indie-rock, alt-rock, or even singer-songwriter sounds in his discography. That being said, this is still definitely one of the most overt and well-crafted examples of that in his hit-filled repertoire. On “Overdrive,” Post champions simplicity as his way forward, keeping things short, sweet, and structurally swelling.

Furthermore, on that last point, the track’s melodic and harmonic elements come from some simple piano chords, guitar strumming, and a string arrangement that pops out here and there. As such, the strings are what really elevate “Overdrive” and give it some forward momentum, coming in and out of the mix at various points. Elsewhere, Post Malone’s vocal melody is fitting for this type of track, as is the slinky bassline and melancholy guitar riff. Considering his career trajectory, this hints at a very compelling direction for the 28-year-old’s next full-length, as he fits this ballad mold quite well. His vocals soar without excessive tampering, the chord progression changes are tasteful, and he presented some interesting lyrical themes.

As such, many fans reacted with shock and confusion, wondering why the influencer and businesswoman is apparently acting so messy.

For those missing context, Ari Fletcher and G Herbo broke up after incidents of him cheating on her. “I was young, I ain’t know no better, man,” he told Yung Miami on her Caresha Please podcast. “I was just doin’ s**t. On Wednesday (May 17), the acclaimed producer posted a picture of a few tracks and regions on a song that he was mixing. “‘TOPIA,” he captioned his post, which obviously got fans incredibly ecstatic. However, he quickly deleted that post and uploaded the same picture. This time around, though, he made no such allusions to La Flame’s next project, and instead gave producers and mixing engineers some game.

“#levels,” Mike Dean began his new Instagram caption on the same picture. “If u got too many tracks and your songs not big. Make bigger sounds. Doesn’t take a hundred tracks. All the best album in history are on 24 tracks.” Given Travis Scott’s recent comments on Utopia, seeing Mike in mixing mode is quite interesting.
