Snoop Dogg & Master P Sue Walmart Over “Diabolical Actions”: What We Know About The Snoop Cereal Lawsuit

Snoop Dogg and Master P embarked on a journey to bring Black-owned brands to households across America. However, the launch of Snoop Cereal hasn’t gone without its headaches. On Tuesday, Feb. 6th, Snoop Dogg and Master P filed a lawsuit against Walmart and food manufacturer Post Consumer Brands, alleging a conspiracy to undermine their recently launched breakfast cereal enterprise. Below, we’ll be breaking down everything you need to know about the legal battle but first, let’s look at the inception of Snoop Cereal and its parent company, Broadus Foods.

A New Player In The Cereal Game

Since leaving Death Row to join No Limit in the South, Snoop Dogg, known offstage as Calvin Broadus, has held a tight bond with Percy Miller, more famously referred to as Master P. In 2022, the two joined forces to establish Broadus Foods, which would introduce two new cereal brands: Snoop Cereal and Momma Snoop.

Last summer saw the launch of Snoop Cereal, offering enticing varieties such as Cinnamon Toasteez, Fruity Hoopz with Marshmallows, and Frosted Drizzlers. However, this venture wasn’t their first attempt. The pair had previously tried to introduce Snoop Loopz in 2022, only to face a trademark infringement claim from Kellogg, the owner of Froot Loops.

Master P hailed Snoop Cereal as the inaugural Black-owned cereal company in the United States under the umbrella of parent company Broadus Foods. Then, they struck a partnership with Post Consumer Brands to help facilitate the production of the cereal. It was a move that appeared to be a step in the right direction to help shape a more inclusive industry. However, recent events paint a different picture altogether.

Allegations Of Sabotage

Attorney Ben Crump, representing Snoop Dogg and Master P, has announced a lawsuit against Post Foods and Walmart. Crump alleges that Post Foods engaged in deceptive practices to sabotage the Snoop Cereal brand, while Walmart obstructed its placement on store shelves.

According to reports from Billboard, the lawsuit alleges a series of “diabolical actions” and “underhanded dealings” orchestrated by Post Consumer Brands to stifle the growth of Broadus Foods. The crux of the matter seems to stem from the rappers’ refusal to relinquish full control of their company to Post. As a result, Post purportedly engaged in covert tactics to undermine Snoop Cereal’s presence in retail spaces, particularly at Walmart.

The Battle Against Retail Obstruction

The lawsuit contends that Post collaborated with Walmart to impede the placement of Snoop Cereal on store shelves. Claims suggest that despite the product being available, it was deliberately marked as out of stock and concealed in stockrooms, effectively preventing it from reaching consumers. These alleged actions, coded to prevent the product from being displayed, highlight the extent of the alleged collusion between the food manufacturer and the retail giant.

Response From The Defendants

As the legal battle unfolds, neither Post Consumer Brands nor Walmart have issued official responses to the allegations. Walmart, however, released a statement affirming that the company “values our relationships with our suppliers…” They added, “And we have a strong history of supporting entrepreneurs. Many factors affect the sales of any given product, including consumer demand, seasonality and price to name a few. We will respond as appropriate with the court once we are served with the complaint.”

Snoop Dogg nor Master P have issued any specific statements regarding the matter. However, the No Limit founder shared a suggestive caption surrounding the lawsuit on Instagram. “We are building a family brand. Dr Martin Luther King showed us how to dream, fought racism and guess what? We’re doing the same in corporate America for equal rights for everybody.

Conclusion

Through their company, Broadus Foods, Snoop Dogg and Master P aim to foster economic empowerment by diversifying the grocery store landscape and providing opportunities for minority-owned food products and brands. Their commitment to this cause underscores a broader mission to challenge systemic inequalities and pave the way for inclusive entrepreneurship in the food industry.

As the legal saga unfolds, the case of Snoop Dogg and Master P versus Walmart and Post Consumer Brands serves as a microcosm of larger battles for economic equity and corporate accountability within the business world. It’s a reminder that even in the realm of breakfast cereals, the fight for justice and opportunity persists.

Snoop Dogg And Master P Are Reportedly Suing Walmart And Post For Allegedly Sabotaging Their Cereal Sales

Rap icons Master P and Snoop Dogg are filing a lawsuit against Walmart. The two revealed the news in a press conference today, and alleged that Walmart purposely hid their cereal they launched last year with their brand, Broadus Foods.

According to the reported suit, which was filed by attorney Ben Crump, Walmart and major food brand Post partnered with Broadus Foods to distribute the cereal in the super retailer, however, intentionally stocked their cereals in shelves and areas that weren’t immediately visible to customers.

“Broadus Foods is seeking damages suffered by the deceptive trade practices under various causes of action,” reads a press release on Crump’s website.

According to a report from TMZ, Walmart showed the cereal, called Snoop Cereal, to be sold out at various Walmart locations, however, employees reportedly discovered cases of Snoop cereal in the back room of a Walmart store, allegedly uncoded for sales.

At the time of writing, it appears Walmart has not been served with a complaint yet.

“Walmart values our relationships with our suppliers, and we have a strong history of supporting entrepreneurs,” said a Walmart representative to TMZ. “Many factors affect the sales of any given product, including consumer demand, seasonality, and price to name a few. We will respond as appropriate with the Court once we are served with the complaint.”

Additionally, Post also issued a statement to TMZ, claiming that consumer demand did not match what Post and Walmart had initially imagined.

“Post Consumer Brands was excited to partner with Broadus Foods and we made substantial investments in the business. We were equally disappointed that consumer demand did not meet expectations.”

Snoop and Master P were reportedly expecting their cereal to be stacked with other leading brands, however now feel that Post and Walmart only agreed to the partnership to shut them out of the market.

This is a developing story and will be updated.

Snoop Dogg & Master P Sue Walmart For Allegedly Sabotaging Their Cereal Brand

In one of the strangest stories of 2024 so far, Snoop Dogg is taking on Walmart and Post Foods in court. At the center of the debate is a cereal that Snoop and Master P created that is fittingly called Snoop Cereal. In a statement made by their attorney they told the story of marketing the brand. “To expand their reach, Snoop Dogg and Master P approached major brands to engage in a partnership and promotion agreement to distribute Snoop Cereal with national retailers. However, despite one company agreeing to the agreement, it allegedly sabotaged the success of Snoop Cereal by preventing it from reaching consumers through deceptive practices.”

The company in question is Post Foods, which distributed the cereal to Walmart. “Post Foods allegedly used deceptive practices to sabotage the success of Snoop Cereal, such as intentionally holding boxes of Snoop Cereal in the stockrooms of Walmart stores, marked with ‘no location’ coding, preventing them from being placed on store shelves,” a tweet made by their attorney reads. The cereal, which was originally called Snoop Loopz, was first crafted back in 2022.

While some social media users are laughing at the woman for the confusion, others are coming to her defense, claiming that the two of them actually look pretty similar. “Close enough,” one Instagram commenter jokes. “The disrespect,” another adds alongside a series of laughing emojis. Moreover, Sukihana’s gesture was a lifeline, relieving some of the financial burdens that had clearly weighed heavily on both of these women. Both of the women couldn’t thank her enough. Tears of joy welled up in their eyes as they expressed their deep gratitude for this unexpected blessing. Sukihana’s act of kindness not only filled their carts but also their hearts with immeasurable joy. As the women left the grocery store, their children by their sides, they smiled and posed for a pic. It was a reminder that, in the midst of life’s challenges, blessings could appear when you least expect them, and a community’s support could make all the difference in the world.

However, as far as what Sukihana’s been working on, she says that she has new music coming and had to finish moving into her house. Chrisean Rock Under Fire For Using Baby Carrier Improperly

Chrisean Rock has been under fire as of late after a fan spotted her at Walmart with her newborn son. They managed to sneak a video of the reality star, which has now sparked a great deal of debate. In the clip, the infant is seen strapped into a baby carrier on his mother’s chest. Social media users were quick to note how he doesn’t look properly supported by the device, and appears to be hanging in an uncomfortable and potentially unsafe position.

Countless viewers are now expressing concern for the newborn, and accusing the 23-year-old of being an unfit mother. “This looks really bad,” one Instagram commenter writes. “The baby has no support and is supposed to be more secure.” While some are going in on Chrisean, others are coming to the new mother’s defense. “You can support instead of criticizing,” a commenter notes.

Chrisean Rock Criticized For The Way Chrisean Jr. Is Hanging Off Of Her

Though it’s clear that adapting to motherhood can be challenging, it doesn’t look like social media users will be letting this one slide. Unfortunately, this also isn’t the first time Chrisean’s been accused of making the wrong move since her son’s arrival. She’s been facing some criticism for choosing to take the newborn out in public so early in his life, especially since his celebrity parent is sure to draw attention. Chrisean’s also raised some eyebrows by featuring Chrisean Jr. in music videos, bringing him along to the studio with her, and more.

It doesn’t look like Chrisean’s receptive to the feedback, however, as she recently took to social media to clap back. “What advice are you giving me, the f**k?” she asked. “Nine times out of ten, I got way more money than advice any of y’all giving me.” What do you think of the backlash Chrisean Rock is receiving over the clip? Cardi B’s Mom Hacks Include Tips For Not Scratching Your Baby With Giant Nails And Booger Picking

Cardi B is giving new parents some serious tips and tricks to the game that help her make it through the day, as she promotes a new partnership with Walmart.

“Welcome to motherhood. It’s hard, but we got you,” Cardi says, making sure to throw in some jokes about the purpose of her typically long nails. “Square off your pointy nails so you don’t scratch your baby. I might keep my pinky nail pointy though, so I can take out my baby’s boogers.”

“Let them sleep with lots of binkies, so if they lose their main one, they can find another,” she adds. “Gently bouncing on a yoga ball will soothe a fussy baby, and you’re working your abs.”

Cardi has two kids with Offset: her daughter, Kulture, who was born in 2018, and a son, Wave, who they welcomed in the fall of 2021. Since then, she’s accepted more child-focused gigs, including the couple making a guest appearance on Baby Shark’s Big Show last year.

Gunna & Goodr’s Charity Event Canceled Over Security Concerns

Walmart has canceled Gunna and Goodr’s planned charity event where they intended to distribute $100K in gift cards. The City of South Fulton Police Department confirmed the decision in a statement on Sunday. Authorities say that the store was concerned about security for the event.

“As we had been working with Walmart to address security for the gift card giveaway that was to be hosted by Gunna and Goodr company on Sunday, we learned that Walmart has canceled the event,” the department said.

They added that Walmart can provide further reasoning for the cancelation.

The giveaway would’ve gone down on Sunday at the Walmart location in College Park. Gunna intended to pass out $100 gift cards to 1,000 shoppers for the holiday season. It would’ve been the fifth year of “Gunna’s Great Giveaway.” It is one of many charitable events Goodr has partnered with Gunna for in the past.

Goodr Founder and CEO Jasmine Crowe-Houston apologized “for any inconvenience this unexpected turn of events has caused.”.

“Goodr was saddened to learn of Walmart’s decision to cancel the 5th Annual Gunna’s Great Giveaway event today,” Crowe-Houston further said. “Gunna and the entire Goodr team were looking forward to brightening the holidays of the 1,000 families that registered. We are aware of how much the promised gifts meant to those families and we are collectively working to find an alternate solution.”

The event would’ve come shortly after Gunna’s release from jail after he accepted a plea deal, earlier this week. His arrest was a part of the sweeping indictment against members of YSL back in May. He pleaded guilty to one charge of racketeering.
