JT remains at the top of her game, as her Billboard Hot 100 single “OKAY” is now RIAA-certified gold. Following her headlining City Cinderella Tour, JT (Quality Control Music/Motown) received a gold plaque for “OKAY” in Los Angeles from Quality Control’s Pierre “P” Thomas and Kevin “Coach K” Lee. JT’s unrelenting work ethic has paid off this year, as many publications lauded the Miami superstar for her project City Cinderella.

Essence glorified the project in their review, saying: “The City Cinderella soundscape is contemporary and nostalgic, blending classic Miami influences with modern forces,” while Billboard noted City Cinderella is an impressive manifesto for the next stage of JT’s career. Chart-wise, City Cinderella enjoyed a splashy debut, entering at No. 3 on Billboard’s Top Rap Albums and debuting at No. 5 on the Top R&B / Hip-Hop charts.

Did JT Diss Cardi B On ‘City Cinderella?’

After months of anticipation, JT’s debut solo mixtape, City Cinderella, has hit streaming platforms. Since the disbandment of City Girls, the “Sideways” rapper has endured immense pressure from the public to outdo her work in the culture shifting duo.

Unfortunately, during the transition, JT found herself in a heap of beefs (GloRilla, Sukihana, and Cardi B). So, naturally her super fans, the Juvies, hoped that she would address it on the body of work and that she did. The most notable being toward her former collaborator Cardi B.

Did JT Diss Cardi B On City Cinderella?

The answer to this question is yes, and multiple times, according to fans. Supporters of both ladies have taken to their social media platforms to call out the subtle jabs across the album on tracks “Intro (Hope),” “Servin,” and the project’s single, “Okay.”

On “Intro (Hope),” JT brought up a longstanding rumor about Cardi B’s time as an exotic dancer. Users alleged that Cardi performed a NSFW party trick during one of her shifts with an alcohol bottle. Back in 2018, Cardi B denied the rumors. But that didn’t stop JT from joking about it, rapping:

“Non-rapping b*tch who the f*ck you talking to / I was off in Saks Gucci alligator bags while you was laying on your back and shoving bottles in your ass.”

Then on “Servin,” JT clapped back at Cardi B’s remarks about her fashion sensibilities. Previously, the pair were entangled in a heated exchange on X (formerly Twitter) about JT ripping looks from Cardi B’s past, among other things. She raps on “Servin”:

“I got on sh*t you can’t pronounce, wait, let me spell it out / L-O-E-W-E and I don’t care ’bout the amount / These b*tches into fashion mad ’cause I’m into fashion / Mad I got that sh*t on and they sh*t was in the past tense / Talkin’ ’bout you had that sh*t on in 2017, b*tch, it’s 2024 / And you ain’t got that sh*t no more, hoe / You ain’t got that sh*t no more, hoe / I’m that b*tch, I’m that b*tch, and you can’t stand it, ho.”

Last, on the project’s breakout single, “Okay,” fans caught the shade JT threw about Cardi B cracking her tooth on a hard bagel. Although JT altered the details (which lead to a dust up with Sukihana), the line was supposedly intended to whack Cardi:

“Maserati mami, and the roof missin / She ate crab legs, now her whole tooth missin’ / Cheap-ass veneers, you stay talkin’ sh*t / Put a marker to this b*tch, she’s so counterfeit.”

With “Dade County Dreaming,” Camila Cabello seemingly treated fans to the last time we’ll hear the City Girls on a track (for now). While, the culture shaping duo is officially done, former member JT is just getting starting.

In March, the “Okay” rapper hinted at her debut solo project, City Cinderella. Yesterday (July 2), JT officially unveiled the forthcoming body of work’s cover art and release date.

“City Cinderella coming….7/19 👑🧊✨,” she wrote. “My hands shaking posting this. Juvies we here…..🥹.”

Users online were frozen with shock over the creative direction of the cover. Many quickly praised JT for taking an artistic risk.

“This one of the best covers I’ve seen from a rap girl this year ngl,” wrote one user.

“BEST COVER ART OF THE YEAR. YES JT!! 😍💎,” echoed another.

“The cover? WE READY, WTF,” chimed another.

Others pointed about the direct references subtly hidden in the photograph—specifically the incorporation of high fashion house, Margiela’s highly sought after Spring 2009 Cinderella Glass Heels.

“JT aligning her fashion interests with her solo music pursuits/positioning is so intentional,” penned another.

Although the official tracklist hasn’t been rolled out, JT has dropped several tracks including “Okay,” “Sideways,” and “No Bars,” all of which fans hope will make the final cut.

JT and Jeezy Drop Fiery “OKAY” Remix

JT and Jeezy Drop Fiery "OKAY" Remix as Summer Heats Up

With summer officially here, JT (Quality Control Music/Motown) looks to topple the competition again, teaming up with Jeezy for the official remix of her hit single “OKAY.” Teasing fans with billboards across Atlanta featuring a Cinderella heel and a snowman, JT and Jeezy’s collaboration makes them an unbeatable duo.

In a candid verse following his divorce, Jeezy raps about being “single as a dollar bill” while maintaining his status as one of hip-hop’s most influential figures. Directed by Gerald Victor, the music video matches the song’s intensity, with JT and Jeezy dressed in all black, flexing their dominance as they rap back and forth.

JT has enjoyed an incredible run in 2024 with “OKAY,” which has netted over 40 million U.S. streams. Building on her success with City Girls, JT has emerged as a solo superstar, impressing with her swagger and unshakable confidence. Billboard has named her one of the hottest female rappers of the moment. This year, she not only dominated the Hot 100 but also set the club circuit on fire with her celebrated “JT’s Coming Tour.” With hits like “Sideways” and “No Bars,” JT is gearing up to drop her highly anticipated project, City Cinderella.

Next week, JT will take her talents to the ESSENCE Festival, performing on the Coca-Cola Stage on July 5 and participating in the ESSENCE Gu’s BeautyCon Panel the following day. She was also highlighted in Ebony’s Black Music Month Freedom List.

JT Grabs The Trap Rap OG Jeezy For Remix Of “OKAY”

JT is doing one heck of a job this year. Whether it be her solo work or team-ups, the Miami, Florida rapper has not missed a beat at any point. After making some noise last summer with “No Bars”, the run she has been on since then is quite remarkable. She nabbed a massive song on Kali Uchis’ latest record ORQUIDEAS with “Munekita”. Her and TDE signee Doechii were all gas and no brakes on “Alter Ego”. Then, you have her laid-back and confident “Sideways” to pair with the high-octane “OKAY”. The latter is now getting a new version and it is arguably better than the original. For the remix of “OKAY”, JT is teaming up with Jeezy and this was honestly the perfect selection.

It seems that JT was somewhat inspired by the 2000s and the bling era, a period in which the feature thrived in. The triumphant, horn-filled instrumental for “OKAY” is something that Jeezy would have certainly rapped over and its why this marriage works so well. The Atlanta legend kicks the remix off, delivering some hilarious one-liners. At one point, he even makes a reference to the Drake and Kendrick Lamar beef, claiming that even though it is all the craze right now, he has still managed to stay relevant through it. As for the rest of the structure, it remains the same. This alternate version of “OKAY” could certainly be a bonus track for JT’s upcoming solo album, City Cinderella. We still do not have information in regard to the album cover or release date, but it should be coming in 2024. For now, give the remix a try below.

Why Are Sukihana And JT Beefing?

Seems like it’s beefing season in the rap world. While Kendrick Lamar and Drake have been at each other’s throats for the past few weeks, other rappers aren’t mincing words with each other. Today (May 8) rapper Sukihana released “Cocaine,” on which, Suki accuses JT of City Girls of using the titular drug. She also has some other scathing bars for JT and her boyfriend, Lil Uzi Vert.

While the beef has fans divided, many are confused as to when and how the beef began.

Why are Sukihana and JT beefing?

Neither Suki nor JT have explained why they’re at odds with each other. But shortly after the release of JT’s solo single “Okay,” a line seemed to strike a cord with Suki.

On “Okay,” JT raps “She ate crab legs, now her whole tooth missin’/ Cheap ass veneers, you stay talkin’ sh*t/ Put a marker to this b*tch, she’s so counterfeit.”

At the time of the song’s release, Suki was in jail for possession of codeine and ecstasy, with intent to distribute. After her release, she took to Instagram live, and shared that people had been tagging her in posts featuring the song. After the fact, she immediately caught onto the “crab legs” line.

“We all know I did break my teeth on some crab legs,” said Suki. “I love crab legs, that’s normal sh*t. I posted it, it’s real sh*t and I’m living my truth. But I don’t talk sh*t about b*tches. I always show b*tches love. Never hate on a b*tch. Never call a b*tch names.”

JT is currently gearing up to drop her solo debut project City Cinderella.

Again THANK YOUUUUU thank YALL.” The summer-ready single has fans looking forward to what’s to come on her mixtape, and speculating about a few of her lines.

“She ate crab legs, now her whole tooth missing,” she rhymes in the song. “Cheap a** veneers, you stay talking s**t / Put a marker to this b***h, she’s so counterfeit.” Many suspect this could be a jab at Cardi B, who lost her tooth eating a “hard-a**” bagel just last month. JT Is More Than ‘Okay’ On Her Ultra Confident Single Ahead Of ‘City Cinderella’

JT has gone hard for “Okay,” her latest single that finds her bars going even harder. “I’m about to get super annoying promoting okay!” The Miami rapper admitted to her followers on X (formerly Twitter) ahead of the song’s release. “I want this song to GO!”

JT shouldn’t have to try too hard to convince people on “Okay,” considering the song oozes infectious confidence. “I’m pretty than a motherf*cker, hoes be looking okay,” she raps. “She think that she f*ckin’ with me, is this b*tch okay? / He said he ain’t f*ckin’ around, I look at him like, ‘Okay’ / I used to down bad, but now a b*tch okay.”

The City Girls star is currently on her first headlining solo US tour, with her next show set for Friday, April 26, at The Harbor in New York, New York.

“The Harbor said I can go all night,” JT posted on Thursday night, April 25. “Safe to say WE OUTSIDE tomorrow & that’s on OKAY!!!”

“Okay” follows “No Bars” and “Sideways” as JT’s solo releases — all generating anticipation for her forthcoming solo project City Cinderella.

The project is named after JT’s fund “uplifting local partners who work tirelessly to ensure that every girl who dreams of going to prom can do so in a dress that makes her feel like royalty” because “economic barriers should not prevent any high school girl from experiencing the joy and self-confidence that comes with feeling beautiful on of the most memorable nights,” as detailed on the campaign’s official website.

In other words, JT is trying to make as many people as possible feel as good as she does in “Okay.”

Yung Miami Gets Called Out For Supporting JT Following Feud, She Fires Back

Last month, the City Girls found themselves wrapped up in a social media feud, after Yung Miami accused JT of sneak dissing her “for weeks.” From there, JT suggested that her fellow femcee was “playing d*mb,” and expressed interest in hashing things out in person. “I know I come off cr*zy but never in my life did no wack sh*t to this girl,” she also added. “She literally enjoys seeing me being dragged when ppl show me love she goes cr*zy & call it a hate train! But like I said we can sit & talk about it!”

Yung Miami then accused JT of “playing victim,” and claimed that her last two solo singles, “Sideways” and “No Bars,” were written about her. “Oh wow you’re really losing it!” she fired back. Shortly after, the two of them were able to work things out, and publicly made up. Now, JT is gearing up to release yet another solo single, “Okay.” She’s been promoting the track heavily on social media, urging fans to pre-save it.

Yung Miami Shows Love To JT’s New Song “Okay”

Yung Miami decided to hop online to show the song some love, posting a few lyrics from the anthem on Twitter/X yesterday. “I’m prettier than a mf hoes be looking okay!!!!” she wrote. Unfortunately, her post left many followers confused and throwing shade in her comments section. “You knew you never wanted to switch sides p*ssy,” one critic wrote, prompting her to respond. “Shut up P*SSY n***a!!!! Go suck some d*ck & get tf out my mentions,” she said. Clearly, she didn’t appreciate the call-out, and doesn’t plan on letting strangers dictate whether or not she supports her friend.

What do you think of Yung Miami showing love to JT’s new song? What about her firing back mid critics rehashing their online from earlier this month? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.
