NLE Choppa Adds Another Nine New Tracks To “Cottonwood 2 (Deluxe 2.0)”

On October 20, multiple publications, including us, reported that NLE Choppa’s mother, Angela Potts, was extremely concerned about her son’s whereabouts. Many were concerned, especially his mother. However it was more of false alarm, as NLE went back to his old neighborhood of Cottonwood to work on music. His debut project is pays homage to it as well as his most recent LP. In fact, NLE filmed a music video there for a hot freestyle and single, “CMON FREESTYLE.”

It saw the rapper perform like the rent was due and it lands on his newest project. Cottonwood 2 came out back in April and it already received the deluxe treatment just three days later. Now, we have a second expanded edition with Cottonwood 2 (Deluxe 2.0). The first deluxe tacked on nine new songs and so does this one.

NLE Choppa’s Mother Shares Update On His Well-Being After Rumors He Was Missing

NLE Choppa fans recently expressed a lot of concern online after rumors suggested that he went missing. Moreover, it stems from his mother, Angela Potts, who asked fans if they had any information on his whereabouts on Friday (October 20). “Y’all help me pray over my child,” she expressed on Instagram. “He plans on moving back to Cottonwood where we worked hard to get out of just for a mixtape SMH! I ain’t talked to this boy in hours and he usually doesn’t do this. One thing I know about my son is that he doesn’t go ghost for any reason. Whatever your working on I pray GOD is guiding you. If y’all hear from him PLEASE CONTACT ME ASAP ! To the fans he wants to please thanks a lot.”

“Contact Momma Choppa via instagram if you hear from NLE Choppa ! -Management,” the Memphis MC’s Twitter account posted shortly after. Of course, this prompted thousands on social media to send their well-wishes and try to find any possible information on NLE Choppa. Even though this was a mostly speculative situation, the fact it came from the most firsthand source imaginable gave it a lot of credence. Fortunately, it seems like things are much better now, and his mother came through with another, more assuring message in the post-midnight hours of Saturday (October 21).

NLE Choppa’s Mom Confirms He’s Safe

“Thank you for the PRAYERS and SUPPORT,” Potts wrote on social media. “Choppa’s ok he just needed a minute, but didn’t communicate it to his love ones. I never intended to scare anyone with my post nor did I expect for people to think he is missing. But the frustrations of being the mother of a celebrity can be a bit much and overwhelming at times.”

Meanwhile, it seems like this was just an unprompted or unclear break in communication and nothing more. Now, the 20-year-old can go back to firing off against haters as he continues to develop his career. It’s heartening that this will not be a saddening headline, and that this family was able to be assured of his safety. For more news and the latest updates on NLE Choppa, come back to HNHH.

NLE Choppa Partners with Hart House for “Study Break Sessions” Benefiting Black College Success

DSC04043 (1) selects

Memphis-born rapper NLE Choppa took center stage at Kevin Hart’s Hart House at University Park South, hosting “Study Break Sessions.” The event was a delightful mix of serving food to college students and donating 10% of proceeds to LA Promise Fund’s Black College Success Initiative.

During this lively gathering, USC’s Majorette Team performed impressive routines to the rapper’s chart-topping hits, including the latest single, “College Girls.” NLE Choppa also seized the opportunity to spotlight his brand, Eat Virgin Meal Bars, which officially launched earlier this year, alongside Co-Founder Natasha Pestano Rice.

In an episode of “On The Beet With Jermaine Dupri,” NLE Choppa shared his journey towards a vegan lifestyle, motivated by struggles with mental health. The rapper observed the positive impact of plant-based eating on his well-being and decided to embrace veganism fully.

The event celebrated Hart House’s first anniversary and its commitment to providing plant-based, real ingredients to the community. With four locations across LA, including Westchester, Monrovia, Hollywood, and Downtown, Hart House is a beacon of “plant-based for the people.” Their menu showcases a delectable range of plant-based options, from burgers and chick’n sandwiches to salads, nuggets, fries, tots, and milkshakes, all free from antibiotics, hormones, artificial colors, preservatives, or high-fructose corn syrup. NLE Choppa’s partnership with the plant-based chain underscores the growing popularity and importance of plant-based dining in today’s world.

NLE Choppa Faces Copyright Infringement Lawsuit Over Hit 2020 Song

CHOPPA

West Coast rapper Rodney O has taken legal action against NLE Choppa, alleging copyright infringement over the unauthorized use of elements from his 1987 track, “Everlasting Bass,” in Choppa’s 2020 song, “Who TF Up In My Trap.” The lawsuit marks another case in the music industry’s ongoing struggles with copyright disputes. NLE Choppa Sued By Rodney-O Over “Who TF Up In My Trap”

Just over a couple of years ago, NLE Choppa really broke into the mainstream with his 2020 album, Top Shotta. It was a huge project for him for a few reasons. Firstly, compared to its predecessor, Cottonwood, which is also NLE’s debut, it nabbed more features. The first of the Cottonwood series only included two artists and one was for a remix. While Meek Mill and Blueface are still big names, those were the only guests. Even though Top Shotta was longer in length, it still contained more names. Lil Baby, Latto, Roddy Ricch, and Chief Keef all did their thing.

Secondly, NLE also had more bangers in the tracklist. These also helped mold him into the rapper we know currently. “Walk Em Down” set the bar high for him but he has been able to replicate that level of songwriting. Another solid track is “Who TF Up in My Trap.” It samples the iconic “Everlasting Bass” from legends Rodney-O and Joe Cooley. Unfortunately, according to a report from AllHipHop, we have come to learn that he never got permission to use it.

NLE Choppa Is Going To Court

Music Business Worldwide was the first to bring this about and they have learned that a lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California on Tuesday (October 3). One of the official statements read, “The composition of [Who TF Up In My Trap] substantially comprises the composition of Everlasting Bass and is either a verbatim copy or encompassed and embodied in an audio sample of Everlasting Bass found in the infringing work.” Other defendants that will be joining NLE include Juicy J, Project Pat, DJ Paul, and more.

What are your initial thoughts on NLE Choppa receiving a lawsuit from Rodney-O over “Who TF Up In My Trap?” How much money do you think Rodney will get out of this? Does this hurt NLE’s career at all? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below. Fredo Bang And NLE Choppa Bring An Undeniable Groove On “Sideways”

Fredo Bang has been one of the most consistent rappers of 2023. What we mean by consistent in this situation is the amount of material that has been dropped. The quality of the material is up for debate, but there is no denying that the Louisiana product is always ready to please his fans. Prior to the release of this latest single, “Sideways,” Fredo has put out 11 other singles. Those include releases under his name or as a feature.

On top of that, Fredo dropped a six-track EP titled Ape Talk. There were a couple of features on it from Kevin Gates and B.O.G. Vonnie. One of his most interesting singles this year has to be “Bang Man.” The rapper is oozing all sorts of confidence on it. He continues to thirst over GloRilla saying, “I love my b*****s, still wan’ f*** GloRilla cause I’m toxic.” Now, he is back with a sexually charged track, “Sideways.”

This one features NLE Choppa who is also having a solid year, too. Both have worked together a couple of times before this. You can check out Fredo and Choppa on “Gangsta Talk” and “Trust Issues (Remix).” “Sideways” brings a great danceable beat with both rappers talking about their favorite ways to get freaky.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand new single from Fredo Bang and NLE Choppa, “Sideways?” Do you believe this is Fredo’s best song of 2023? NLE Choppa Is Open To Working With NBA Youngboy On A Track

NLE Choppa’s resume is quite impressive even though he has only been in the rap game since 2019. Most rappers have a hard time carving out a niche and fanbase for others to grasp onto. That has not been the case for Choppa. The Memphis MC has just under 20 million monthly listeners on Spotify and has serious hits to his name. “SLUT ME OUT,” “Walk Em Down,” “Shotta Flow,” and countless others have millions upon millions of streams. On top of that, he has also scored some big features like Roddy Ricch, Lil Baby, Latto, Chief Keef, Kevin Gates, and plenty more.

Now, he wants to join NBA Youngboy in the studio for another smash hit. However, it might not be the easiest thing to do. A little while ago, NBA Youngboy was beefing with Lil Durk and dissing the deceased King Von on his album, Colors. Lil Reese then said he feels that NBA is rapping like every other rapper, in a response to DJ Akademiks’ tweet. DJ went after NBA a bit saying he was on demon time. Choppa replied to Reese saying he stamps that. However, he was siding with the Reese tweet and that Von was not there to defend himself. In an article from Complex, he says, “It wasn’t ever with me picking a side. Honestly, bruh, I barely read what Lil Reese said. I just know what he was saying was siding with my boy [King] Von.”

NLE Choppa Says He Wants To Work With NBA Youngboy

In another recent radio interview with 99 Jamz (second Via below), he shut down the “beef” between him and Youngboy. The interviewer asked him if they were cool and he said yeah. She then inquired about the two collaborating and he said, “If he up for it I’m down.” The Baton Rouge artist has yet to reply on NLE’s wishes, but hopefully the two can come to an agreement.

What are your initial thoughts on NLE Choppa saying he wants to work with NBA Youngboy? Do you think this collaboration will ever happen? Would that song do massive numbers? We want to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below. NLE Choppa Claims “College Girls” Have More Fun On His Latest Single

NLE Choppa’s controversial nature is one of the reasons why he is a popular name in the current hip-hop landscape. His most recent solo single, “It’s Getting Hot,” paid a fairly standard homage to Nelly’s classic party tune, “Hot In Herre.” That track came out at the end of July and it sparked a lot of people to debate whether the song was indeed, hot. For many, it was not raising the temperature, but Choppa is back to try and fix the heat he has been receiving. His newest effort, “College Girls” already has some people buzzing about it.

The reason for that is Choppa went to his Twitter to post about the meaning of the song. In his message below to his followers, he believes girls attending university know how to have a good time. Besides, he has experienced it before, “College girls have mooo fun. I know from experience [three partying face emojis].” That was sent without much context at all, until about three hours later he shared the cover art for “College Girls.”

RapTV confirmed this on their Instagram page saying that the track’s inspiration stems from Choppa’s threes*** he had with college girls. Apparently, according to the lyrics it seems these girls could have been attending Duke University and its biggest rival North Carolina. The cover art for the single may look to include the Polaroid pictures he references in the first verse with the girls he was messing around with. It is sure to get more listeners talking about it but, hopefully its positive reviews for Choppa.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand new track, “College Girls,” from NLE Choppa? Is this a direction you like to see the rapper go in? NLE Choppa And Gambi Unite For “Bonjour” Single

NLE Choppa has worked with the top dogs in the current rap game. Roddy Ricch, Lil Baby, Lil Wayne, Kodak Black, and so many others. Furthermore, he is on fire from his song “It’s Getting Hot,” a tribute to Nelly’s smash hit “Hot In Herre.” Choppa committed so much to the song by even shaving his hair down, donning the headband and the white strip on his face, and including the fading in and out from the music video. Of course, he sampled the song as well which made for a cool moment.

This time around he joined up with a bubbling talent in France, Gambi, for a new track. It’s titled “Bonjour” as an obvious nod to Gambi’s country. The 21-year-old was born in Paris and has only worked with a handful of other artists in his career. However, he has some serious hits such as, “POPOPOP” and “PETETE” that have well over 198 million streams combined. Now, he might have another gem with “Bonjour.”

NLE Choppa And Gambi Bring The Energy

The track features insane energy and slick flows from both NLE and Gambi. It is a thumping but simple beat with trumpet samples, which add so much to the song’s contagiousness. You can find NLE putting on for Gambi as the two rap in French on the chorus before he performs his verse. The song is sure to blow up in the coming days with over 200,000 views in its first 24 hours.

What are your thoughts on this collaboration between NLE Choppa and Gambi? Have you checked out any French rappers and have you listened to Gambi before?
