Offset Speaks On Taking The High Road With Kenneth Petty Drama

Earlier this year one of the more interesting beefs sprung up. Offset and Kenneth Petty found themselves embroiled in some pretty heated beef. What made it so interesting is less about the men themselves and more about their wives. Given that the two are married to Cardi B and Nicki Minaj respectively, there was plenty of intrigue. Many fans viewed the feud as a proxy beef between Nicki and Cardi, who have had their own issues with each other in the past. Eventually, things got so heated that Petty was put back under house arrest for threatening the former Migos rapper publicly.

Now with his new album just a few days away, Offset addressed the issue. In an interview with The Breakfast Club, he explained why he felt like taking the high road and not engaging with the beef directly was the right idea. “N*ggas want you to be tough, then when you crash out they call you stupid,” he explains. In the comments, fans are divided. Many Nicki Minaj die-hards pop up to claim that even bringing up the beef again in the first place is just an attempt to help sell copies of his album later this week. Others pointed out that he was simply trying to handle the matter privately, while Petty was the one who continued to bring it up online. Check out the interview clip below.

Offset Opens Up About Kenneth Petty Beef

Offset is in full-on album mode. His new project Set It Off is set to drop later this week. It will be his first new solo project since 2019’s Father Of 4. Earlier this week he shared the tracklist for the album which revealed some impressive features. Travis ScottDon Toliver, Future, Cardi B, Mango Foo, Latto, Young Nudy, and Chloe, are all set to appear.

One name who isn’t appearing on the album is Playboi Carti. That came as a surprise to fans after the pair previewed new music together earlier this year. Offset didn’t offer an official explanation, but he did like a tweet alleging that Carti probably didn’t clear his verse for release. What do you think of Offset’s explanation for how he handled his beef with Kenneth Petty? Let us know in the comment section below.

7 Hip Hop-Inspired Halloween Costume Ideas

Hip Hop-inspired costumes are always a fun choice to go with on Halloween. They are a creative way for fans to pay homage to their favorite artists, trends, and iconic moments in Hip Hop culture. The key to a successful Hip Hop-inspired Halloween costume is attention to detail. Confidence is also a fundamental add-on if one really wants to convincingly pull off these looks. After all, one may decide to channel a specific artist or try to embody the essence of Hip Hop culture.

Whatever the case may be, embracing the spirit of creativity and individuality that defines the vibrant genre is essential. Evidently, there has always been an abundance of inspiration for Halloween costumes in the Hip Hop scene. So whether you want to replicate the look from Missy Elliott’s iconic “The Rain” music video or suit up as The Notorious B.I.G., the options are limitless. Considering that, we want to highlight some artists you can try to emulate this Halloween.

Run-D.M.C.

Creating a Run-DMC Halloween costume allows you to pay tribute to one of the most iconic Hip Hop groups in history. To recreate one of their most memorable looks from “My Adidas,” you’re going to need a few things, including an original Adidas tracksuit, as well as a pair of their classic shell-toe sneakers. A black fedora hat is also needed if you want a Run-DMC look. Adding a chunky gold or silver necklace will top it all off nicely. At this point, all that will be left for you to wear is confidence. Once you put that on as well, you’ll be good to go. Don’t forget to add your own twist on things, though!

Gucci Mane

Many rappers are known to sport face tattoos. Gucci Mane’s former “ice cream” ink, however, was extremely controversial. Finding a way to temporarily replicate it would make a successful “costume” in itself. However, you can take things up a notch by adding a few elements of his style. Gucci is often seen wearing tracksuits (some designed by the luxury brand Gucci) with intricate patterns. The rapper is also known for his love of designer brands. You can catch him in shirts or hoodies with a prominent Gucci logo or other designer brands when he’s not wearing his patterned tracksuits. Getting a temporary tattoo or drawing it on yourself with a stencil will complete your Hip Hop Halloween costume.

André 3000

André 3000 is known for his bold fashion choices. This makes him the perfect choice for your Hip Hop Halloween costume inspiration. To start, you will need a bright and colorful outfit to make a statement wherever you walk. André’s outfits are often loud and eye-catching. The rapper has had various hairstyles throughout his career, so there are many iconic options. Ranging from braids to an afro and his unforgettable blonde wig, the possibilities are extensive. Adding bold jewelry pieces will be a nice touch to complete the look. However, if you’re spoiled for choice, look no further than the iconic “Hey Ya!” music video.

Nicki Minaj/Roman Zolanski

Dressing up as Nicki Minaj’s alter ego, Roman Zolanski is never a bad idea for Halloween. Roman’s brash and dark personality blends perfectly with the holiday spirit. For that one day, it’s okay to look a little wild and let your Roman out. Our recommendation would be the character’s look in their appearance in the music video for “Stupid Hoe.”

MF Doom

Who doesn’t love being dark and mysterious, hidden behind a mask? MF Doom was iconic for his sick rap flows, but his enigmatic presence was also ironically notable. The late, great rapper’s metal mask made him unmistakable. He proudly embodied a supervillain while he wore the mask. That’s another reason why he’s a great choice to go with this Halloween. You can find a replica of Doom’s iconic metal mask online. Alternatively, you can get creative and make one yourself.

Slick Rick

This is arguably the easiest look to pull off on this list. Slick Rick is famous for his signature eye patch and is a style icon in the Hip Hop industry. It is almost all one must have to be recognized as his doppelgänger. We’ll share a few more things you can throw together to round off a Slick Rick-inspired Hip Hop Halloween costume. First, an oversized faux fur coat in a rich color like brown or black. Next, layer multiple chunky gold chains around your neck. Finally, wear some elaborate gold rings on your fingers.

Missy Elliott

Without a doubt, Missy Elliott is one of the most influential women in Hip Hop history. She is as iconic for her style as her music, which is why dressing up as her for Halloween should be a no-brainer. She has many eras characterized by some of her biggest hit songs, so there’s a lot of material to choose from. We’d recommend going for a look from one of the following music videos: “The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly),” “Work It,” or “Lose Control.” The trash bag costume from “The Rain” is arguably the most memorable, however.

Nicki Minaj Wants Jewelry Lawsuit For $26K Dismissed Over Damaged Goods

Nicki Minaj is doing a lot this week, whether we’re talking about her music career or her personal and legal life. Moreover, a lot of Barbz blasted Drake for not including her on For All The Dogs, which dropped this week, as he had promised. Still, it looks like the Queen is busy with other matters and might not address this for the foreseeable future. What she’s actually responding to right now is a lawsuit from a jewelry company that claims she damaged pieces they gave her. According to court documents obtained by Radar Online, the rapper’s legal team denies any and all wrongdoing.

“Defendant denies, both generally and specifically, each and every allegation of the Complaint and deny that Plaintiff is entitled to any relief whatsoever,” her attorney’s filed motion reads. Nicki Minaj claimed she and her stylist Brett Alan Nelson returned the pieces 12 days after the independent jewelers loaned them out to her. “Plaintiff’s damages, if any, were caused by the primary negligence and/or acquiescence in the acts and omissions alleged in the Complaint by Plaintiff and/or its agents or others acting on Plaintiff’s behalf, including because Plaintiff now seeks to both keep the Jewelry and obtain money for the value of the Jewelry,” the documents continue. As such, they call for the court to toss this suit altogether, as the Trinidadian MC did not breach any contract.

Nicki Minaj Performing In 2015

Furthermore, photographs used in court show some of the damaged items in question from the West Hollywood brand, and also shows the contract. In it, Nicki Minaj’s stylist signed the “final” agreement with “no refunds or exchanges,” but Roseark still claims misbehavior. Allegedly, the Young Money icon and her team did not return 66 pieces on time and, when they did, the items were defective. Apparently, they sent her a bill for a little over $26K which she reportedly hasn’t paid yet.

“We [received no] evidence that [Nicki damaged] any of the jewelry at issue,” Minaj’s lawyer Jordan Siev remarked. “This lawsuit [is] nothing more than an ordinary insurance claim the jeweler designed to generate publicity for itself and extract [an un-entitled] payment. We will defend the lawsuit vigorously.” With all the money she’s making from Pink Friday 2 before it even drops, maybe this will be painless no matter what. Regardless, stick around on HNHH for the latest updates and more news on Nicki Minaj.

Nicki MInaj Revealed That Her Elegant Second ‘Pink Friday 2’ Cover Is A Vinyl Exclusive

A month ago, Nicki Minaj revealed the Afrofuturistic cover for her upcoming album, Pink Friday 2, while also insinuating that another cover was on the way. With the album’s release date now just over a month away, the Queen from Queens has shared the second cover for the album, revealing that this one will be a vinyl exclusive. On the cover, Nicki is draped in a diaphanous Barbie-pink gown which reveals her midriff and surrounded by a billowing satin sheet.

The rollout for Pink Friday 2 has clearly been planned to perfection, with Nicki carrying her momentum from appearing on the Barbie soundtrack with Ice Spice and rolling it into the debut of her reflective lead single, “Last Time I Saw You.” From there, she revealed the cover for the album, then used her dual gigs as host and performer at the MTV VMAs to debut her new song, the release of which she later teased on social media.

It hasn’t all been smooth sailing though. She initially planned to release PF2 earlier in the year but pushed it back to ensure the maximum amount of time to work on it. And lately, her husband appears to have gotten sucked into Nicki’s long-simmering rivalry with Cardi B, threatening Cardi’s husband Offset and earning himself a few months of house arrest. Given that her beef with Cardi partially derailed her last album rollout, you really hope she learns the lesson and sticks to great imagery, sharp lyrics, and catchy beats to sell this one, because there’s more competition than ever and it looks like shes’ on the right track.

Pink Friday 2 is due on 11/17.

Is Nicki Minaj Featured On Drake’s ‘For All The Dogs?’

Delays be damned, Drake’s long-awaited album For All The Dogs has finally seen the light of day. The “Slime You Out” rapper brought out the big guns for the project’s special appearances. So, is Nicki Minaj featured on Drake’s For All The Dogs? Fellow musicians Bad Bunny, J. Cole, Lil Yachty, 21 Savage, Sexyy Red, and more all pop in for a guest verse. However, Drake’s Young Money comrade is notably missing.

After teasing that they were linking back up for a track in September, this blatant omission isn’t sitting well with fans. During an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Minaj confirmed that the song would make the final tracklist, saying, “You know, I have a song on Drake’s album coming out soon, too. I love the song so much. I’ll just say I really love the song. I know my fans are going to love the song. I know the world’s going to love the song. And that’s all I will say about that.”

Later in the conversation, Minaj revealed that Drake didn’t turn in his verse for her album either. “Barbz, make sure y’all let Drizzy Drake know that Pink Friday 2 is coming out November 17 as well. And we are waiting on his contribution,” declared Minaj, instructing her fans to remind him of his obligation. Maybe Minaj’s forthcoming album will make up for the missed collaboration, or if Drake drops a deluxe edition of For All The Dogs with the unreleased track.

Take a look at some fans’ reactions below.

Nicki Minaj Fans Upset With Drake Over Missing Collab

drake

Nicki Minaj fans–the notorious ‘Barbz’ are now upset with rapper Drake. His new 23-track record features appearances from Bad Bunny, 21 Savage, Teezo Touchdown, J. Cole, Yeat, SZA, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Chief Keef, Sexxy Red, Lil Yachty and Adonis–but no Nicki. Last night “Dricki” trended on X out after a previously announced collaboration with Nicki Minaj is missing from Drake’s new album.

In July, Drake told fans at a Detroit concert: ‘I’m gonna give away one thing for you tonight because I got a lot of love for Detroit. I’m gonna have to tell you that me and Nicki Minaj did our first song together in a really long time. I got a lot of love for her.’

Do you think Nicki will be added to the deluxe version of the album or was the song scrapped.

Lil Yachty Begs Nicki Minaj To Unblock Him: “I’m Actually A Huge Fan”

Lil Yachty loves Nicki Minaj’s work and artistry- and he’d love to talk to her about it if she would actually listen. During a recent episode of his podcast with Mitch, A Safe Place (with special guest Arrogant Tae), he revealed that she still has him blocked on social media. Moreover, the Atlanta artist made another public plea to the Queen to let bygones be bygones. For those unaware, this stems from his loyalty to Cardi B in the two femcees’ feud, or at least that’s what’s likely the case, as she’s never outright confirmed this. As the Let’s Start Here. creative made his case, he made it clear that his loyalty doesn’t indicate that those who don’t receive it are his enemies.

“You know Nicki got me blocked?” Lil Yachty remarked to Tae, who spoke on his admiration of Minaj. “You know what’s cr*zy? I’m actually a huge Nicki Minaj fan. I think she’s great. And I’ma take a second in time, to- again, for maybe the third time- address Nicki. I would love for you to unblock me because I am a genuine fan.” Also, he apologized to the Trinidadian MC and said he didn’t mean to “ruffle her feathers,” and Tae said he’d text Nicki with his cosign of the idea- that is, if Yachty didn’t “do anything cr*zy.”

Lil Yachty Addresses Nicki Minaj Tension On A Safe Place: Watch

Back in 2018, the 26-year-old told TMZ that he’d love to work with the “Super Freaky Girl.” However, he said that he had to be loyal to his then-Quality Control label mate Cardi B and would have to turn the collab down, since this was at the height of their beef following an alleged brawl at the 2018 Met Gala. “The thing about that was, I think, I’m just big on loyalty,” Lil Yachty told TMZ in 2021. “I got a lot of love for Cardi B and she’s a damn-near family members so I’ll do whatever. I’m gonna ride. But I never- I’ve loved Nicki Minaj since I was a child.

“Yesterday I went on Twitter to retweet my tweets from middle school of me praising Nicki,” he continued. “And then I went on Instagram Live to let the world know Nicki Minaj has me blocked. I even hit Drake, I’m like, ‘Yo Drake, tell Nicki I love her. I love her to death.’ I checked this morning, I’m still blocked.” For more news and updates on Nicki Minaj and Lil Yachty, stick around on HNHH.

Is Nicki Minaj’s ‘Queen Radio’ Canceled Due To Amp’s End?

On Wednesday, Amazon announced the end of its live streaming audio service Amp. According to Bloomberg, the service was launched in May 2022 as a competitor for chat apps like Clubhouse and Twitter’s Spaces feature (both of which have also since shut down), while CNBC reports the decision was made in the wake of a “sweeping review” of Amazon’s expenses by Amazon CEO Andy Jassy. Per Business Insider, Amp had failed to meet internal goals for months.

Is Nicki Minaj’s Queen Radio Canceled Due To Amp’s End?

Amp, which operated a bit like its competitors but allowed users to play licensed music and take “callers” while on the air, thus encouraging a “radio show” style format, had hip-hop stars like Big Boi, Joe Budden, Nicki Minaj, and Pusha T as part of its launch and their shows and events were expected to draw plenty of users. However, that is clearly not how it turned out. As an Amazon spokesperson said in a statement, “We’ve made the difficult decision to close Amp. We learned a lot about how live music communities interact in the process, which we are bringing to bear as we build new fan experiences at scale in Amazon Music.”

As far as what happens to those shows now that Amp is shuttering, that remains to be seen. Amazon Music currently hosts its own exclusive podcasts, so it’s possible that it’ll fold shows like Queen Radio into its existing lineup and simply stream them from that platform instead. Like Spotify, which also shuttered its own Clubhouse clone earlier this year, Amazon has been increasing its focus on traditional podcasts, so if the Amp shows can be suitably revamped to fit the format, it’s entirely possible that Queen Radio will return in some form before long.

Katy Perry’s 7 Hottest Hip Hop Collabs

Make no mistake, Katy Perry is one of the most definitive pop acts of the century. However, like all megastars, collaborating with Hip Hop acts is evident. Katy Perry is no different and has some notable Hip Hop collaborations that have greatly elevated her pop tracks. From the chart-topping “E.T.” featuring Kanye West to the trap-pop club banger “Bon Appétit” with the Migos, Perry has worked with some of the most prominent rappers around. In continuing on with her roll, Katy Perry revealed she wants to collab with Ice Spice.

Although her sound has evolved over the years, her fifth studio album, Witness, was a highlight. On Witness, Katy Perry enlisted not one but three Hip Hop acts for some of the biggest collabs in her discography. Additionally, Kodak Black has expressed interest in working with her. Judging from the success of her previous pop-rap partnerships, perhaps another hit is in store for her. Overall, her work with rappers has been some of the best pop-rap mergers of the modern music scene.

“Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” feat. Missy Elliott (2011)

Due to the overwhelming success of the original track, the remix of “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” went largely under the radar. However, featuring Missy Elliott was evidently a brilliant idea, particularly with the flow Elliott brought to the unmistakably pop sound. The Hip Hop queen kicked off the song with a sonically advanced tone and fun, sexy lyrics to top it off. Elliott reappeared towards the end of the track before Perry closed out with the chorus. It’s one of a few Hip Hop collabs that Katy Perry can boast of, arguably one of her best.

“Bon Appétit” feat. Migos (2017)

On her fifth studio album, Witness, Katy Perry featured several notable Hip Hop stars. One of the most popular tracks on the album is “Bon Appétit,” which features Migos. “Bon Appétit” packs a ton of genres into its almost four-minute runtime. From dance-pop to drum and bass, and of course, Migos’ signature trap, the song was heavily played in the club scene. While the reception was mixed, the song was a moderate commercial success. However, Migos’ verse was welcome, as well as the song’s EDM feel. Since its release, Katy Perry has performed it several times, as it is one of her most popular Hip Hop collabs to date.

“Chained To The Rhythm” feat. Skip Marley & Lil Yachty (2017)

While “Chained to the Rhythm” is Hip Hop-leaning, it remains one of the most lauded collabs Katy Perry has in her catalog. Skip Marley is featured on the single track, while Lil Yachty appears on an official remix. Overall, the song’s message about real-world issues is particularly noteworthy, and one of the reasons for its success. “Chained to the Rhythm” is easily one of Perry’s most conscious offerings and marked a significant moment in her writing portfolio, signaling great songwriting improvement.

“Swish Swish” feat. Nicki Minaj (2017)

Both the Barbz and Katycats had clamored for a collaboration for a long time between Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj. Eventually, in 2017, the two stars joined forces on the former’s single, “Swish Swish.” One of her most popular collabs, Perry revealed to Jimmy Fallon that the song is aimed at her bullies and haters. Most notably, the song was believed to be aimed at Taylor Swift, who was feuding with Perry at the time. Nonetheless, the track’s highlight was Nicki Minaj, who delivered a cutthroat verse to accompany Perry’s vocals. While the song was moderately well received, Nicki’s verse was lauded.

“E.T.” feat. Kanye West (2011)

Enlisting Kanye West for the official single, Perry achieved great success with the single “E.T.” in 2011. West, who had already begun to make waves for his electronic-infused music, was a perfect addition to the song. The pair performed the track at numerous events, including the Grammy Awards. West also appeared in the music video for “E.T.,” providing a more mellow visual image than Perry’s outlandish costumes and imagery. The song was both a critical and commercial success, and West’s involvement helped shoot the single to the top of the Billboard Hot 100.

“Dark Horse” feat. Juicy J (2014)

Katy Perry cinched the top spot on numerous charts with “Dark Horse,” one of her biggest Hip Hop collabs. While the song’s reception was critically mixed, fans widely praised it. Consequently, the song has achieved a Diamond certification, with over 11 million units sold. “Dark Horse” is a trap-pop song that employs a haunting melody. Juicy J provided his verse in signature style, awarding the track an extra oomph. The success of “Dark Horse” was rather monumental, and the single ended the 2010s as the 26th-best Billboard hit.

“California Gurls” feat. Snoop Dogg (2010)

In what is undoubtedly one of her most notable songs, “California Gurls” didn’t take any time to reach the top spot of the Billboard Hot 100. The confectionary tune was also greatly elevated by its featured act, Snoop Dogg. The West Coast icon floated effortlessly on the unabashedly bubblegum pop track. He also appeared in the song’s music video and engaged in a candy battle with the singer. Katy Perry began a tremendous music chart-topping run with “California Gurls,” and the song remains one of her most notable collabs.
