Nicki Minaj Continues Legal Battle Against Blogger Marley Green

Nicki Minaj’s Team Called Out By Concert Promoter To Collect Lawsuit Judgement

Nicki Minaj left the Met Gala only to find herself in another legal tight spot, although this seems like it has little to do with her own actions or statements. Moreover, according to court documents reportedly obtained by RadarOnline, a former concert promoter by the name of BS Associates Company Limited (BSA) requested a L.A. Superior Court judge to provide access to third-party witnesses for questioning in their attempts to speak to her team about her assets as they try to collect a million-dollar judgement from her. They previously received a $1.4 million award from Minaj’s company, Pink Personality, for a 2018 deal to perform in China that fell through.

Furthermore, BSA requested that Nicki Minaj’s business manager, an accountant from the NKSFB firm, a William Morris Endeavor agent, and her financial advisor be ordered to appear in court to answer questions about the rapper’s assets. BSA also wants access to Pink Personality records and those of its affiliates in order to “aid the satisfaction of the Judgement” by any means necessary. This includes not only looking at her own assets and business partnerships, but that of Pink Personality and the affiliated parties that either got a mention in this filing or escaped it. However, the judge in this case still hasn’t ruled whether the court will allow this proposal to rope the wider team into this.

Initially, BSA filed an arbitration claim against Pink Personality in 2022 over allegations that Nicki Minaj agreed to a September 18, 2018 concert. They claim that they sent a seven-figure amount for her CAA agents to hold in an escrow account. Not only that, but the suit alleges that Queen Barb asked for them to release $250,000 from this account two weeks before the scheduled show, which they complied with. Still, she did not go to the concert, and the promoter’s accusations also included the supposition that they attempted to reschedule the show.

Meanwhile, this filing also claims that Nicki Minaj considered a rescheduling but only if they released “additional funds” from the escrow as a “sign of good faith, which they allegedly did through another $250K release. But despite reportedly repeated attempts, she did not reschedule the performance, and BSA got $1.4 million in judgement from Pink Personality in arbitration, plus interest. Following a November 2023 request for L.A. Superior Court to confirm the arbitration award and begin the collection process, it seems like BSA is now on the hunt for their due cash. We’ll see whether this is just a bump in the road or a larger issue for the superstar.

It’s the latter song around which a new controversy has just sparked. One of Ice Spice’s friends appears to have leaked some information about the trouble surrounding the song behind the scenes. Fans of Nicki Minaj and Drake were treated to a public demonstration of affection this week when Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 Tour stopped in Drizzy’s hometown of Toronto. Following her initial difficulties attempting to enter Canada last month, Nicki performed Tuesday night in front of a sold-out audience at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena. She decided to bring out the city’s most well-known son, Drake, as a surprise guest. They performed “Needle,” off Nicki’s Pink Friday 2 album, which is their most recent joint effort. Before leaving the stage, Drake and Minaj share an intimate moment.

To the pleasure of the audience, Drake gave Nicki an embrace and a big ol’ kiss on the cheek before leaving the stage. As he departed the concert, Nicki Minaj referred to the Toronto artist as “the king of Toronto” and “a legend.” Drizzy is currently in the midst of a vicious rap beef with one Kendrick Lamar. The saga continues: Drake and Kendrick Lamar have been embroiled in a feud for a couple weeks now, and after a bit of a wait, Lamar finally clapped back at Drake yesterday (April 30) with “Euphoria.” The world apparently won’t have to wait as long for Drake’s response.

One his Drake’s immediate reactions was to throw a perfectly fitting 10 Things I Hate About You clip up on his Instagram Story. It seems he won’t stop there, though, as he indicated during a surprise appearance at a Nicki Minaj concert last night.

Minaj played Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena yesterday and brought Drake out for “Needle.” At the end of the song, right before he departed the stage, Drake thanked the crowd and seemingly indicated that he was going to get back in the studio to fire back at Lamar: He said, “You know what time it is, you know what I gotta do.”

Drake was the most talked-about man on the internet on April 30. Kendrick Lamar made sure of it. The Compton rapper dropped the monstrous diss record “Euphoria,” which left no stone unturned in terms of taking Drake to task. Fans were floored, but Drizzy is not letting the hype get to him. At least, not on the surface. The “Jimmy Cooks” rapper decided to surprise fans during the Toronto leg of Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 Tour. The rap stars had fun onstage before Drake teased the next chapter in the Kendrick Lamar saga.

Drake’s appearance was likely, given the the show was in his city, but it was not guaranteed. Minaj has had plenty of tour dates in which the 6 God hasn’t appeared due to scheduling conflicts. Minaj brought him out and made sure to give him his flowers. “Make some noise for the king, Toronto,” she said during an embrace. “Make some noise for this icon, this legend.” The duo performed their latest collaboration, “Needle,” for the very first time. Drake was then given solo time onstage to perform one of his current hits, “Rich Baby Daddy.”

Drizzy reciprocated the love that Minaj and the Barbz showed him. “Toronto make some noise for the greatest female rapper of all time,” he announced. “Nicki, I love you.” The love fest came to an end as Drake left the stage, however. The rapper walked off while assuring fans that he has some business to take care of with Lamar. “You know what time it is,” he assured the fans. “You know what I gotta do.”

Both Drake and Minaj are currently involved in rap battles. Drake has taken on Kendrick Lamar, while Minaj has been swapping disses with Megan Thee Stallion. The battles have played out in strangely similar ways. Lamar’s “Like That” and Megan’s “Hiss” both topped the Billboard Hot 100, with many citing them as the favorites to win their respective battles. Drake and Minaj have dropped disses in response, but neither release managed to chart as high as their competitors (yet, at least).

Regardless, fans can take solace in the fact that the Young Money icons are still on good terms.

“Yall so stupid,” Coi Leray claimed concerning the alleged Nicki Minaj beef. “Me and Nicki spoke behind the scenes, personally, and I never brought that to the public. Business ain’t work out, that’s okay. Of course, the nature of this is pretty muddy and speculative, and it became corny to tie every little thing in femcee beef back to Nicki Minaj a long time ago. Also, the alleged issues with Coi Leray, or rather vice versa, weren’t really super well-documented or backed up by any significant evidence or even supposed shade. The closest confirmation that we got to anything concrete was Nicki’s confirmation that she almost canceled the collab when Benzino, Coi’s father, spoiled it early. But they cleared out all their issues privately, and it left fans with some more questions.

Meanwhile, the “Can’t Come Back” creative will likely continue to draw these connections in the femcee world. She’s been very outspoken on how she’s fallen victim to these alleged label games and how she wants to promote more female unity moving forward. Maybe Coi Leray and Nicki Minaj will collaborate again sometime in the future, and expand their list of team-ups with other female rappers. Only time will tell, but we can all agree on shedding past mistakes to foster more important goals.

According to New Jersey rapper Coi Lerai, mainstream record labels are the culprit in female Hip Hop rap beef and her beef with Nicki Minaj is not what it appeared to be to the public.

This past weekend, the “Players” emcee took to X(also known as Twitter) to share her feelings about the cause and effect of female rappers having beef in and out of the recording booth.

“Idk if you ask me it seem like these labels are behind the female controversy,” she tweeted. “They see it helps push the music , I wouldn’t be surprised if they the ones behind the fan pages.” She continued, “Most of these female rappers not even from the same places !!!! Not from the same hoods….why are we beefing?”

An X user commented on her second tweet, referencing her past issue with Nicki Minaj, saying, “Most of them like you, do it to get Nicki minaj support and then when she turns on you.. you don’t have any support from any fan base.” Lerai’s response? “Yall so stupid. me and Nicki spoke behind the scenes, personally, and I never brought that to the public . n 2022, Leray and Nicki joined forces on “Blick Blick,” but the journey to the song’s release was anything but smooth — in fact, it almost didn’t happen at all.

During a brief Q&A with her Twitter followers that year, the Queens native revealed that she pulled the plug on the collab after her peer’s father, rapper and Former Source Magazine EIC Benzino, ruined the surprise by announcing the song ahead of time.

“I did pull it,” Nicki replied to a fan asking her about her feature verse on the record. “But the label hit me going hard. But rlly I had a private convo w|coi & that’s what changed my mind. Not the label.” She added, “I just felt bad that she was robbed of telling the world in her own way @ her own time. But that’s water under the bridge now. Good vibes all 2022.”
