Tech N9ne & Skatterman & Snug Brim Want That “Drippy Drop” On Single For Upcoming LP

When it comes to respected spitters in hip-hop, not many trump Tech N9ne. The Kansas City, Missouri possesses the incredible knack of mastering flows, everything from speedy to methodical. While he is not doing mainstream numbers anymore, he can still bust out some solid material. Tech N9ne’s latest single, “Drippy Drop”, is one case of that.

Most people are enjoying it so far due to the reunion of Tech and his former Strange Music label teammate, Skatterman. Additionally, Snug Brim is in the mix, so the underground vibes are strong on this one. On “Drippy Drop”, all three veterans are rapping over a pretty by the numbers pop rap beat while wanting to get freaky with their love interests. Some of the bars are downright a riot and got us to laugh quite a bit.

In addition to an old school reunion, this single is also getting a lot of attention due to the fact that it is a promo track. Pretty soon Tech N9ne will be dropping a new album, COSM, which will hit streaming on July 12. But this is not just a standard Tech tape, this is a “Collabos” entry. This is a long running album series and this will be the ninth of its kind. It will also end a historic seven-drought, which is the longest run without one.

What are your thoughts on “Drippy Drop” by Tech N9ne and Skatterman & Snug Brim? How do you feel about Tech making a pop rap song like this? Who had the stronger performance on the track? Does this get you excited for COSM, why or why not? Is this the best single from the tape? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Quotable Lyrics:

Inject grooves, I said: “I wanna know where we’re going if that’s cool”
She said “I’m taking you to oceans of fun”, I’m praying for no cesspool
She said “Сan you swim a lot?”, I said: “Yeah, she said get wet shoes”
Outside I was the man of steel but inside was just a mere mortal
Before I get to the water she said that I gotta face a really large portal
Then she really offered me a cookie and told me that it was full of very sweet morsels

Drake Just Covered “Hey There Delilah” And The Internet Is Baffled

Drake claimed he was done beefing with Kendrick Lamar. He was gearing up for “summer vibes,” which got fans of classics like “Controlla” and “Passionfruit” excited. Drizzy may not have won the K. Dot battle, but he’s always been good for hits. Right? Well, the enthusiasm for “summer vibes” has dimmed. The 6 God decided take a hard left and release a collab cover of the Plain White T’s song “Hey There Delilah.” Yes, the one you’re thinking of. Drake flipped it, though, so the title is now “Wah Gwan Delilah.”

To make things even more complicated, the cover is actually a remix of a cover originally released by the singer Snowd4y. Drake pulled a Soundcloud era move by hopping on a song that was already gaining a little bit of traction. The thing is, the song choice is baffling. Especially with the 6 God pouring Autotone on his vocals and swapping out the original lyrics for Toronto slang. The slang has resulted in good songs but there’s no defending this one. “Wah Gwan Delilah” is going to provide Drake haters with ammo for a long time.

Drake Teamed Up With Toronto Artist Snowd4y

“I just show my dog your ‘Gram. He said he knows a man that slapped it, I’m so cheesed,” he sings. “Your ‘mademoiselle’ nights are geeked, I’m bent lowkey. Wah gwan, Delilah? Double date me if you like me.” It is a couplet so cringe-inducing it doesn’t even require analysis. It looks bad on paper, and sounds bad on record. It’s worth noting that this is the only song by Snowd4y listed on Genius. Snowd4ay is a new artist from the 6, which explains Drake’s desire to link up with him. Outside of repping the city, though, it’s hard to imagine what the rapper was thinking when he agreed to hop on the remix.

This confusion has understandably driven the social media response to “Wah Gwan Delilah.” Fans really want to know what’s going on with Drake, and whether he will ever be the same after the Kendrick Lamar battle. It seemed silly to believe that the rapper would struggle to get his footing after the beef, but this is an undeniably bad release. “Drake dropped that sh**ty song wah gwan Delilah with the Toronto accent,” one user wrote. “We not beating the washed allegations.” Another was baffled by Drake’s musical falloff in such a short period of time. “Drake is unreal,” they tweeted. “Just had one of the most insane beefs in hip hop history and drops this sh*t right after.”

Joey Valence & Brae Team Up With The Equally Eccentric Danny Brown For Rambunctious Banger “PACKAPUNCH”

We got another duo of rappers that are going to make a huge splash in the impending days. That would be the Pennsylvania tandem of Joey Valence & Brae. These two got their start in 2021 and are mixing elements of 90s boom-bap, alternative, with a punk-like aesthetic. Joey plays the role of MC and producer, whereas Brae is strictly a vocalist. They have a fun in-your-face style, something that is sort of missing from today’s rap scene. On June 7, Joey Valence & Brae will drop their sophomore album NO HANDS, and to bring some ears to it, they are here with “PACKAPUNCH”.

This is the fourth and final single from what will be a 12-song project. The first of the teasers, “WHERE U FROM”, a synth-heavy bop, dropped back on January 19. They would then follow that up with the rage-like “JOHN CENA” on March 1. Finally, their rowdy a** popping cut “THE BADDEST”, would come out on April 26. For “PACKAPUNCH”, Joey and Brae are working alongside someone who could be seen as an inspiration to their approach, Danny Brown.

According to an interview with Vents Magazine, Joey and Brae explained how this head-nodding banger came to be. Joey says it was essentially a half-court heave. “It was one of those shoot your shot moments. And he was like, ‘Yeah, I actually really f*** with you guys’”. Good thing they went for it, because “PACKAPUNCH” is going to help NO HANDS knockout the competition this coming weekend.

What are your thoughts on “PACKAPUNCH” by Joey Valence & Brae and Danny Brown? Is this the duo’s best song of their career so far, why or why not? Does this get you excited for their upcoming album NO HANDS? Who had the stronger performance on the track? BlakeIANA Keeps The Hits Coming With “See Us” Featuring Skilla Baby

BlakeIANA is someone you are going to want to keep your ears and eyes on this summer. She is a very fresh face to the rap scene, but one that is looking to have her tracks dominate the competition’s. The femcee hails from the St. Louis, Missouri area and burst onto the scene with her debut track no less, “BING BONG”. It is a reference to the viral catchphrase of the same name that was first popularized in New York. The song grabbed the attention of the major New York label 300 Entertainment, and now she is quickly becoming one of key voices for them. BlakeIANA is looking to continue her momentum with her latest single “See Us”, which features Skilla Baby.

This song follows up on her “Pricey” record with Moneybagg Yo and since its release, it has been received well. It is one of BlakeIANA’s biggest collaborations, as she has also worked with Sexyy Red and Jeremih. Now, she can add Detroit MC Skilla Baby to that ever-growing list. On “See Us”, BlakeIANA glides over a ChopSquad DJ beat that goes hard on the bass and pianos.

FERG Continues His Solo Run Of Singles With “More Than U Know Freestyle”

A$AP Ferg had the whole internet talking about his sudden return. About three weeks ago, the Harlem, New York rapper put out a YouTube-only single called “MDMX”, but his full stage name was not attached to it. Instead, it was chopped down to just FERG. This then led to an onslaught of theories and speculations that he was not a core member of the A$AP Mob. There have been a lot of reports online that he indeed was not a part of it and that he still remains with them. However, the real truth is that FERG is his solo stage name when he is not releasing anything affiliated with Rocky and the crew.

FERG announced it through Roc Nation back in 2021, saying, “Ferg is very much still part of the Mob, and is A$AP Ferg within A$AP Mob. Ferg as an individual artist and with his solo career is Ferg”. So, with all of that cleared up let us jump into this new single, “More Than U Know Freestyle”. This is the third YouTube exclusive track and a follow-up to “Roemello” just five days ago.

This also comes after his guest appearance on a new Trae Tha Truth album single called “Rock Out”. FERG delivered a memorable and zany performance, showing that he is not just your typical trap/pop rapper. On this scant two-minute freestyle, the veteran gets reflective and introspective about his career over a soulful sample flip and hard-hitting kick drums. When he wants to get into his more lyrical side, just know that he can do it at any moment.

What are your thoughts on “More Than U Know Freestyle” by FERG? Is this the best song that he has released in the last few weeks, why or why not? Do you think that he is gearing up for a new album soon? How do you feel about the name change to FERG? Hotblock Jmoe & G Herbo Bring Chicago Grittiness To New Track “FASHO”

Chicago drill/Chicago hip-hop has to be one of the most entertaining and hype subgenres. So, what happens when you combine two artists from there who live and breathe this stuff? Well, you get one heck of an all gas no brakes track like “FASHO” by Hotblock Jmoe and G Herbo. This is the latest offering from the Dolton, Illinois native, who is looking to stamp his name in Chicago rap history as one of the best to do it.

As we said, “FASHO” keeps the flame lit the entire way through. That is thanks to Hotblock and G Herbo bringing cutthroat bars and that Midwest, blue-collar attitude over a crisp trap instrumental. “We catch n**** lackin’, hawk ’em down, stand ovеr and over clappin’ (Come here)“. Jmoe does not let the star power of the guest deter him one bit. He holds his own and goes bar for bar, all while bringing a smooth and easy-to-hear flow.

Yungeen Ace Gets Vulnerable On New Single “Rain On Me”

It goes without saying that Yungeen Ace has been through a lot over the past few months. Back in April, the performer was arrested in his hometown of Jacksonville, FL, and hit with charges of possessing a firearm, weapon, or ammunition as a convicted felon. Just before his arrest, the 26-year-old shared the tragic news of his brother’s passing on Instagram. While it’s surely been a difficult ride for the young artist, fans are glad that he’s managed to find a healthy outlet with his music and continue to advance in his career.

At the end of March, Yungeen Ace did just this with his project Forgotten Star. The 15-track effort sees him channel his feelings into vulnerable tracks like “Mama Tears,” “Heart Burning,” “Hardest Thing Ever,” and more. He also went at it alone, with zero features throughout the entire album.

Yungeen Ace Proves He’s Focused With Emotional New Track

Now, only a couple of months after the release of Forgotten Star, Yungeen Ace is back with yet another introspective track, “Rain On Me.” In the melodic and emotional song, the rapper reflects on the various obstacles he’s previously had to overcome. He confirms that despite it all, he’s fully committed to staying “focused.” His latest release also arrived alongside a dramatic visual, which sees Ace singing in the rain, making calls at a lonely payphone, and more. Check it out above.

What do you think of Yungeen Ace’s vulnerable new track? What about its emotional accompanying music video? Will you be adding “Rain On Me” to your summer playlist or not? Do you hope to see the Florida-born performer drop another full-length project sometime in the near future? FendiDa Rappa Unleashes Raunchy New Single “Show Dat”

It’s no secret that FendiDa Rappa has come a long way since rising to fame with her 2022 single, “Point Me To The Sl*t’s.” After gaining popularity on TikTok with the fun track, the Chicago-born performer has gone on to take part in various high-profile collabs. She’s worked the likes of Cardi B, GloRilla, and more. She’s also found great success with her solo work, impressing fans with tracks like “Munch” and “Sorry For Da Wait.”

On Friday, she came through with yet another high-octane single, “Show Dat.” On it, she lends her signature focused flow to raunchy, carefree bars about turning up just in time for summer. Her latest effort also arrives alongside a wild accompanying music video, in which Fendi and her masked crew are seen wielding axes and bats, terrorizing two unsuspecting men. Check it out below.

FendiDa Rappa & Her Masked Crew Terrorize Two Men In Wild “Show Dat” Music Video

“Show Dat” follows the release of FendiDa Rappa’s collaborative single with GloRilla, “In The Trunk,” which they unveiled in November of last year. It also arrives almost a year after her collab with Cardi B, “Point Me 2.” The track, which is a remix of Fendi’s aforementioned breakout single “Point Me To The Sl*t’s,” became her first entry on the Billboard Hot 100. It came along with a similarly explicit accompanying video directed by Michelle Parker and starring both Fendi and Cardi B.

What do you think of FendiDa Rappa’s raunchy new track? Will you be adding “Show Dat” to your summer playlist or not? BIA Disses Cardi B On New Single “SUE MEEE?”

2024 might be the year of rap beef when we look back at it, something that BIA is aiming to prove with her latest release. Moreover, she just dropped a diss track against Cardi B titled, “SUE MEEE?,” whose title refers to how Cardi threatened to sue the Massachusetts MC for spreading rumors that she cheated on her partner Offset when she previewed the diss. While it’s reductive to compare this to the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef, the instrumental sounds too much like the one on “Like That” to avoid this connection for too long. Fortunately, thanks to fiery flows, a coolly confident delivery, and some sharp wordplay, this new song lives up to that expectation for the most part.

Furthermore, there’s no telling whether this will reach the highs or lows of other rap beefs this year, but it definitely kicked off with a bang. Fans are reacting wildly to “SUE MEEE?” and breaking down the history between Cardi B and BIA, the veracity of their claims, and the bars themselves. The consensus seems mostly positive from neutrals, although there’s obviously a lot of clowning and mocking due to their differences in status and popularity. It’s not as David versus Goliath as some folks make it out to be, but it still might be a relevant factor if Bardi chooses to clap back with a dedicated response on wax.

Icewear Vezzo Earns His Keep On New Single “It’s On Me”: Stream

Icewear Vezzo may have just dropped a new album Live From The 6 this year, but don’t think he’s letting his foot off the gas for the rest of 2024. Moreover, he came right back this week with a new single and music video titled “It’s On Me,” which is a fitting title for this confident Detroit banger. The Michigan native sounds right at home here, mixing warbled deliveries and steady flows with boisterous rags to riches narratives and brag-heavy lyrical content. As for the instrumental, the beat is carried by haunting background vocal samples, heavily flanged synth keys, and a rapid and peppy percussion pattern.

No matter how you slice it, the “Perfect” spitter returned to his element with ease here, and it would be exciting to see what else is in store in his catalog. For example, he led up to Live From The 6 through cuts like “Pouring Wok” that continued to pay homage to the Detroit sound and branch out in his own unique way. With “It’s On Me,” Icewear Vezzo keeps things in that simple but still expansive way, if only through the contrast that the cold beat and mic performance creates with the sampled vocals. It might be a winning formula, but there won’t be any complaints as long as an MC is able to live up to the task. In this case, he certainly delivered.
