Earl Sweatshirt Drops New Track “Making The Band (Danity Kane)”

Earl Sweatshirt has dropped off a new track today, titled “Making The Band (Danity Kane).” The song is his first solo release since his 2022 LP, SICK! It features production from Surf Gang’s Evilgiane, who also recently worked alongside Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem on “The Hillbillies.” Evilgiane released a version of the track on Soundcloud a few months ago, also featuring production from Clams Casino.

Earl Sweatshirt released his fourth studio album, SICK!, in January of last year. The 2022 LP featured collaborations with Zelooperz, Armand Hammer, and more. The album featured production from Black Noi$e, The Alchemist, and Ancestors. It also featured themes surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. “The pandemic pointed me to the necessity of there being some rhythmic backbone,” he told Pitchfork in 2022, “I had to use some drums, because you can’t be floating right now.”

Earl Sweatshirt “Feels Like Diddy” On His New Song

Mellow, witty bars meet a minimal beat to define the new track. The song also references Diddy’s 2000s MTV reality series by the same name. “Making The Band (Danity Kane)” is also accompanied by a new music video, which was directed and edited by Hidji World and YGA.

The new track also follows Earl Sweatshirt’s 2019 seven-song EP, Feet of Clay. He released a deluxe edition of the project in 2020, adding two new tracks to the EP. He released his third studio album, Some Rap Songs, in November of 2018. The LP features notable contributions from Navy Blue, Standing on the Corner, and more. His debut, Earl, was produced mostly by Tyler, the Creator, and also featured the single “Whoa” alongside the rapper. Though fans aren’t sure when they can expect to hear a new album from Earl Sweatshirt, they’re certainly pumped about his latest song.

Killer Mike Recruits Andre 3000, Future, Eryn Allen Kane For “Scientists & Engineers”

Killer Mike has brought along some Atlanta legends for his new single. His new song “SCIENTISTS & ENGINEERS” features contributions from Andre 3000, Future, and Eryn Allen Kane. The track is the fifth taste Mike has given fans of his upcoming album Michael. It’s yet another song stacked with talent following appearances from Young Thug, El-P, and Thankugoorsir on previous tracks. The song continues the trend of gospel-inspired hip-hop that has run throughout all the singles so far. It opens with verses from both Future and Andre before Mike himself even appears on the song.

The track almost didn’t end up having Andre 3000 on it at all. Mike revealed a few weeks ago that Andre had second thoughts about the song and tried to back out after recording his verse. He claims that after hearing Eryn Allen Kane’s contribution to the song, Andre changed his mind and gave the okay to release the track. Killer Mike reportedly spent over $500k of his own money on his upcoming new project. Michael drops later this week and “SCIENTISTS & ENGINEERS” is the final single for the album.

Killer Mike’s New Star-Studded Song

Michael is Killer Mike’s first solo project in over 10 years. His previous solo outing R.A.P Music was fully produced by New York MC El-P. The pair went on to continue working together as Run The Jewels. They’ve dropped 4 albums under that project, most recently RTJ4 in 2020. Their song “Chase Me” with Danger Mouse and Big Boi was nominated for the Best Rap Song Grammy in 2018. Michael will be Killer Mike’s first album not produced by El-P since 2011’s Pledge.

Earlier this year Killer Mike joined some other Atlanta artists on a new single. T.I. and Young Booke’s “The Real A” features a verse standout verse from Mike. What do you think about Killer Mike and company’s new track? Let us know in the comment section below.

I used to be dope with the dealin’, but that got a ceilin’
And we know the usual endin’

Gunna’s Music Played By Inmates In Viral Clip

The intense social media debate surrounding Gunna’s status as a “rat” after he took a plea deal in the YSL RICO case is almost too tiresome at this point. Sure, some of that is because of other legal issues that came about, but it’s also just infected every possible way of observing his movement. For example, not even a social media clip of inmates enjoying his music video for “bread & butter” can go without a jab at his “snitch” status. While such situations are always hard to assess from an outside perspective (as many fans have tried to), it can feel frustrating to argue about that when so much of the YSL trial is still in limbo.

Regardless, the video captures a group of people gathered around a TV screen in prison, where you can faintly see that Gunna’s latest music video for his latest single is playing. It’s unclear whether they’re also singing along, although some are clearly enjoying the video to some degree. It’s not very surprising considering the truckloads of people within and outside of the media that continue to show their support. With more new music promised to be on the way, it’s unlikely that the College Park native will lose his fanbase quickly.

Inmates Filmed Vibing To Gunna’s “bread & butter”

However, there are other places where the “Banking On Me” artist’s music isn’t getting the same warm reception. In fact, a recent clip of Gunna playing at an Atlanta club sums up the negative emotions that many view his music through these days, with the whole venue going silent and still once his verse appeared. It’s an extreme reaction, whether out of solidarity for Young Thug or to hop on a snitch-bashing trend. No matter the case, it shows how contentious his case continues to be in the public eye.

Meanwhile, rappers themselves perhaps seem even more harsh and critical of the 29-year-old’s actions than fans themselves. Former collaborators cut ties entirely, others have left question marks on their relationship, and many who frankly don’t have a lot to do with him expressed their dislike. Yet it doesn’t matter who’s bumping his music where or for what reason: he seems here to stay in the near future, and probably beyond. On that note, stay logged into HNHH for the latest news and updates on Gunna.

Tyga And Travis Barker Reportedly Working On New Music

Tyga has been working on some new music and according to TMZ, Travis Barker is involved. Over the weekend Tyga was seen heading into Barker’s studio, a sight which has apparently happened pretty frequently in recent weeks. Various sources say that the pair are working on a new EP together. While they haven’t formally announced anything it’s expected to arrive sometime this summer. The pair have teamed up before in the past. Barker’s 2015 song “100” featured Tyga alongside a number of other rappers.

The pair have been finding time to collab despite each having a busy schedule recently. Just a few days ago Tyga released “West Coast Weekend” a tribute to California alongside rappers YG and Blxst. That song followed his new single “Day One” which dropped last month. Barker on the other hand has been performing as part of the reunited Blink-182 lineup. The trio made their surprise return in April at Coachella. During weekend two they were elevated to the main stage after weekend one headliner Frank Ocean dropped out.

Tyga And Travis Barker Are Cooking

Tyga and Travis Barker also have a family connection, albeit a loose one. Last year Travis Barker married Kourtney Kardashian. A long time before that Tyga used to date Kylie Jenner. Now he’s following in the footsteps of other rappers and collaborating with Barker on new music. In the past few years he’s worked with artists like Machine Gun Kelly, Trippie Redd, XXXTENTACION, and Lil Nas X. Barker produced the MGK and Blackbear collaboration “My Ex’s Best Friend” has gone two times platinum.

During the rehearsals for their surprise Coachella performance, there was trouble for Travis Barker. A crazed fan tried to gain entry to his gated community by driving her car through the gate. Thankfully, she was apprehended by security quickly but the story still drew attention following some other high-profile celebrity stalking incidents earlier this year. It was more trouble for Barker, who had a scary medical crisis earlier this year. Are you excited about Tyga and Travis Barker’s EP later this year? Let us know in the comments below.

Babyface Ray Starts Summer Off Right With “All Star Team”

Detroit rapper Babyface Ray doesn’t waste much time between new releases. He’s back with his second new single of 2023 already and it’s a bop. His first single “Ron Artest” dropped back in February and featured 42 Dugg. Now he’s back with another sports themed track in “All Star Team.” While the song runs less than two minutes it still has an upbeat vibe and plenty of quotable bars. The accompanying music video perfectly captures its indulgence and excess.

It’s unclear if the song is expected to land on a forthcoming album. Even if it doesn’t, fans likely won’t have to wait long to hear from Babyface Ray again. Aside from his own songs he’s also made some guest appearances this year. First he showed up on the song “2 Million Up” with Peezy, Icewear Vezzo, and Skilla Baby. Then he guested on Only Tuesday’s song “Fair Exchange.”

Babyface Ray’s Summer Bop

Babyface Ray’s last project MOB dropped last year. The album featured contributions from Lil Durk, Blxst, Doe Boy, and more. He’s continued dropping material often despite being arrested late last year on outstanding warrants after his car broke down. Either way, this new song could very well be an indication that something new is on the horizon. The Summer is a great time for new releases, and we could very well see that with Babyface Ray. At least that is what the fans are hoping for.

A few months ago Babyface Ray made headlines when he claimed social media had made 9 to 5 jobs “lame” as people try to put forth a fake lifestyle. What do you think of Babyface Ray’s new song and music video? Let us know in the comment section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will be sure to bring you the biggest tracks from the biggest artists.

Quotable Lyrics:

KEY! Drops “You Need God” Ahead Of New Album

KEY! has dropped the first taste of his upcoming new album. After debuting the song at his last Late Night Church Service show it dropped this week. The track is a hard-hitting trap banger with subtle gospel touches in the instrumental. It also sports a guest spot from fellow Atlanta rapper Tony Shhnow. KEY!’s new album Marquis doesn’t have a release date yet but it’s expected to arrive later this summer. The song is KEY!’s first new single of the year so far, though he has appeared on some other tracks including one with Thundercat.

The album will join a massive discography of mixtapes and albums KEY! has been grinding out for years. His most recent full-length release came out late last year with S.B.I. The project was a 7-track collaboration with El Jubo. His most substantial recent release was 2021’s The Alpha Jerk. The record is a collaboration with Tony Seltzer which featured one of Key!’s biggest songs “My Puppy.” His biggest album is 2018’s 777 a full-length collaboration with Kenny Beats. Since the project was released though, the pair seem to have gotten caught up in some beef.

Key! Returns In Time For Summer

KEY! has made some high-profile appearances in the past. He’s made appearances on songs on both of the A$AP Mob’s Cozy Tapes series. Similarly, he appears on Dreamville’s Revenge Of The Dreamers III compilation. He was praised by fans for his standout verse on Skepta’s “Redrum” from his 2019 album Ignorance Is Bliss. He’s also appeared on albums from ILOVEMAKONNEN, Raury, 03 Greedo, Guapdad 4000, and many more.

One of KEY!’s most poetic moments as an artist came on his 2019 song “When X Died.” In the lyrics of the track, he imagines how big XXXTENTACION could have been if he wasn’t tragically murdered. It came right after he took on the beat from Ski Mash The Slump God’s “Foot Fungus” with his own freestyle. What do you think of KEY!’s new song and how excited are you for his new album? Let us know the answer to both questions in the comments below.

Quotable Lyrics:

Life’s a trip, ain’t it?
If you can trip off life, I need a hit, ain’t it?
If you got more than one life, is you a cat, n***a?
I don’t know who they is, but I am that n***a

Tyga, YG, Blxst Team Up For Cali Tribute “West Coast Weekend”

A trio of frequent collaborators are back once again with a song tributing their origins on the west coast. Tyga, YG, and Blxst team up for a sun-kissed new banger. The bright production and catchy refrains are perfect for capturing the vibes of spending a glorious weekend on the west coast. While it’s unclear if the song is ultimately destined to land on a project from any of the trio, it’s still a perfect summer jam dropping at just the right time.

YG and Tyga have collaborated many of times and often appear on each other’s album. Last year they released “Run” which also featured verses from BIA and 21 Savage. YG and Blxst have also collaborated a few times before. Most notably Blxst made an appearance on YG and Mozzy’s hit song “Perfect Timing.” The song landed on their collaborative album Kommunity Service which also featured a contribution from Tyga. Clearly, the three artists are no strangers to making music together.

Tyga, YG, Blxst Drop A Summer Anthem

For YG this is the first new singles he’s dropped this year, though he’s found himself in headlines regardless. Just yesterday he attended the ceremony unveiling Tupac’s Hollywood Walk Of Fame star. In an interview, he expressed shock that it took so long for Tupac to finally get a star. Last month, he confirmed a long-rumored relationship with R&B singer Saweetie. On a trip to Mexico together the pair posted pics finally letting fans know for sure that they’re an item.

Earlier this year Blxst released his Just For Clarity 2 EP. The short project features guest verses from Mustard, Roddy Rich, Terrance Martin, & Larry June. Tyga most recently released his new single “Day One” last month. What do you think of Tyga, YG, and Blxst’s new song? Let us know in the comment section below.

Quotable Lyrics:

Ayy, it’s a party on the weekend
Got a lil’ shawty, we creepin’
Throw somethin’ in my cup
But I still can’t show no love
I got hoes for every season
Shawty wanna play, she leavin’
Don’t try to say, “What’s up?”
When you see a n*gga in the club, yeah

City Girls Are Back With New Single “I Need A Thug”

City Girls have dropped a new track, titled “I Need A Thug.” They announced the song’s drop earlier today on social media, pumping fans up for their first release of the summer. Yung Miami hinted at new music earlier this year, telling fans they can expect to hear from City Girls this spring and summer. Their newest single samples LL Cool J’s 1987 single, “I Need Love.” The song sees the duo apply signature City Girls sentiments to the romantic ’80s track.

The new single also follows last month’s City Girls feature on Diddy’s track, “Act Bad.” In March, the duo also previewed some new music during their performance at Rolling Loud. They performed their unreleased track “Piñata” for the California crowd in March.

City Girls Sample LL Cool J’s “I Need Love”

“I Need A Thug” is the pair’s first new release since their 2022 song with Usher, titled “Good Love.” The laid-back ’80s instrumental is paired with catchy, high-energy bars to create a snappy track about wanting a man who’s all about “sex, money, and drugs.”

Last month Yung Miami also appeared on The Jason Lee Show where she discussed drama among female rappers. The artist explained feeling as though the game would be much more enjoyable if everyone could just get along. “I feel like it would be so much [more fun] if everybody could just be together,” she revealed. “We could bring each other out on shows and just link up. I feel like bad b*tches should really link up. That would be dope if everybody could just… bring their personalities together.” She also shared her thoughts on her City Girls partner JT, explaining to the host, “that’s my b*tch. We a group.”

Doe Boy Refuses To Drive-By On “WAY I WALK”

Doe Boy is as prolific as ever dropping his second new single of 2023 “WAY I WALK.” The song dropped on Monday following a long battle Doe Boy went on in order to clear its key sample. It took him a year trying to get the rights to use a sample of a popular remix of Jennifer Lopez’s 2001 song “I’m Real.” After the sample was finally cleared he posted a video thanking J-Lo and rapper Ja Rule for their help in the process.

The song was released with an accompanying music video, both of which cover the type of ground you’d expect Doe Boy to. The single is part of the rollout for his highly anticipated new album BEEZY. The record comes out in just a few days via Freebandz and Epic Records and you can pre-order it now. Doe Boy has been previewing music on his Instagram all week including an unreleased collab with DaBaby. It’s currently unclear which of the songs he’s played will ultimately end up on BEEZY.

Doe Boy Brings The Heat

Doe Boy also took to Instagram to celebrate the release of this song after the long battle to clear the sample. “Everybody say THANK YOU @jlo. ‘WAY I WALK’ finally cleared,” he captioned the post. “Way I Walk” is the second new single Doe Boy has released this year following “Roll The Dice” with Dej Loaf which dropped back in April. These two tracks follow a prolific 2022 for Doe Boy where he dropped two projects. His album OH REALLY and the following EP CATCH ME IF YOU CAN both received critical acclaim and helped give him quite a bit of momentum coming into this year.

Doe Boy has been regularly releasing mixtapes since 2016. He had the cosign of major artists like Future and Lil Durk right out of the gate. Before last year his biggest release was 2020’s Demons R Us, but OH REALLY may have overtaken it. Tell us what you think of the song in the comments below.

Quotable Lyrics:

Gang sh*t, just the way I talk
I don’t drive-by no more, this just the way I walk
