Rich Brian, Zion. Benny The Butcher Slam Dunks The Competition On “BRON”

Benny is dropping the project on January 26 in what has become a jam-packed month for hip-hop. Ahead of the release, he and legendary producer Hit-Boy have been cooking up some mean-mugging bangers. Both singles, “Big Dog” with Lil Wayne, and “One Foot In” featuring Stove God Cooks, were phenomenal. As great as those are “BRON” may even top them.

The UK native has just rolled out his brand-new movie, The Book of Clarence, and its accompanying soundtrack. Over the past couple of months, the updates surrounding these pieces of art have gotten plenty of people intrigued. That is especially true for music fans because JAY-Z had a major hand in putting this together.

Hov is the executive producer for the album and film and he did a great job in doing all of that. JAY and Roc Nation were able to recruit loads of talent for the sonics. You can find Lil Wayne, Doja Cat, and Kodak Black, across the tape. In fact, Jay-Z also hit the studio to record a unique verse for “I Want You Forever.” He is alongside the legend of neo-soul, D’Angelo to create a funky and wavy ballad.

There are so many layers to the song, even with the lyrics being fairly minimal outside of JAY’s portion. It effortlessly weaves in a sample of “Serenata do Adeus,” which is a famous piece by Brazilian composer composer Vinícius de Moraes. According to fans, hundreds of singers have redone this classic. The one singing is Elizeth Cardoso or Elza Laranjeira. Regardless of who it is it sounds fantastic and haunting.

Furthermore, Faye Webster’s light and airy croon matches up very well with Lil Yachty’s high-pitched vibrato, and their vocal effects here go to great lengths to make this a very dreamy song. After all, she is one of Steve Lacy’s main inspirations; how could this be anything less than an alt-indie-R&B jam packed with charisma? Not only that, but there’s some well-produced distortion effects here that give this typically breezy and summery cut a shoegaze-like grit. Actually, it goes pretty far to brand this duo’s unique approach to indie and rock styles, as it’s something that many other bands and musicians attempt to much more jarring results. Of course, it’s quite the cheeky cut, with lyrics that could be as dumbed-down as they are profound.

But the dual single and music video also serves a dual purporse. The Colombian-Virginian singer announced that she is pregnant with her first child, whose father is her boo Don Toliver, and we and the rest of fans couldn’t be more excited for them.

Furthermore, this is exactly the narrative that the “Tu Corazón Es Mío / Diosa” music video portrays. For example, the couple cooks some eggs and other foods together in their opulent house, and it also features home recording footage of the two stars growing up.
