Big Moochie Grape Teams Up With Late Rapper Big Scarr On “Trap A Lil Harder”

Big Moochie Grape has shared a new single featuring the late rapper, Big Scarr. On “Trap A Lil Harder,” he and his fellow Memphis native trade bars over a sinister beat right in time for the Halloween season. “Spot in the hood, that b*tch jump the Carters / Stop f*ckin’ ratchets, then switched to the models / B*tch call me daddy, but I’m not her father,” they rap on the chorus. Fans in the comments section on YouTube are loving the song. “Ugh I miss Scarrs voice whenever you hear him rap. Always goosebumps just like Dolph gave me. Long live the fallen kings,” one fan wrote. Another posted: “Idgaf how long it’s been if I see Scarr name I’ll always click it!!!.”

Speaking of the Halloween spirit, Grape will be celebrating the holiday by releasing his next project, Eat Or Get Ate 2, on October 31st. Moochie released the first installment in the series back in 2020. The new effort will see him collaborating with Key Glock, Kenny Muney, and Money Man. Check out “Trap A Lil Harder” below. Wretch 32 Little Simz Benjamin A.D “Black And British”: Stream

Wretch 32 just dropped one of the most thoughtful and passionate hip-hop tracks you’ll hear this week with “Black And British,” featuring Little Simz for a guest verse and Benjamin A.D on the chorus. It follows previous projects like 2021’s Little Big Man and covers a whole lot of topics with a lot of compelling grace. Family trauma, social dynamics, and educational systems fall under their empathetic and pained magnifying glass over a gorgeously progressive, calm, and orchestral instrumental.

In addition, “Black And British” also comes with a music video that sees the “Ocean Deep” MC pay homage to his family history while commenting on its struggles. Furthermore, he does a great job of painting the picture here with very vivid imagery and a lot of sharp lines. Also, Benjamin A.D provides some solid melodies, and as for Little Simz, the “Satellite Business 2.0” creative offers a mindful glimpse into her upbringing. Wretch 32 came through with a pretty dense cut, but the musicality on display and the skillfully focused performances make it resonate even if you don’t catch everything on first listen.

With all this in mind, we can’t wait for what the Upon Reflection lyricist crafts next. If you haven’t heard Wretch 32’s “Black And British” with Little Simz and Benjamin A.D yet, you can find it on your preferred streaming service or check out the music video via YouTube below. Down there, you can also find some standout lines from the record and the comments section for you to leave your thoughts on the new single. As always, come back to HNHH for the best new rap drops around the clock.

Erick The Architect Previews Deluxe Of Debut Solo Album Again With “Ca$hmere Tear$”

“CA$HMERE TEAR$” is a song dear to me,” Erick the Architect said in a statement (via Shore Fire Media). “It talks about New York City at a very specific time period during the late 90s and early 2000s. Way before my city was heavily gentrified, New York had a cadence and rhythm that really personified the city as one of the most influential places in the world. Growing up, I learned to rap because of my surroundings, which then led me to becoming a musician. New York City is entirely responsible for all of the success I’ve received over these years, and I couldn’t be more grateful.” This is the Flatbush Zombies rapper’s feelings and explanation about his new single, and the second preview of an upcoming extended version of his solo debut album.

In February, Erick the Architect would go on to drop one of the now most under-appreciated records of 2024 in I’ve Never Been Here Before. It’s a tremendous mixture of sounds, textures, and performances from the versatile talent and it gave any doubters proof of what he could do away from his Flatbush brethren. There are lots of tracks that we keep in our rotations, including “Ezekiel’s Wheel,” “2-3 Zone,” and “Shook Up.” Erick has clearly seen the positive reception because he’s going to be adding to on November 15. I’ve Never Been Here Before: The Director’s Cut will have five new cuts with his love letter to New York in “CA$HMERE TEAR$,” as well as the equally excellent “Beverly Drive” included in that mix. Erick’s making sure to have hip-hop fans remembering his work in 2024 but we sure won’t forget any of it. It’s been a banner year.

JasonMartin (Problem) Comes Back With A Slick West Coast Bop “Killswitch”

JasonMartin, also known as Problem, has been having one heck of an underrated 2024. The underground West Coast mainstay put out a behemoth of a project in June with CHUPACABRA. 17 songs isn’t anything crazy by today’s standards, but it was massive in terms of collaborations. Almost every track had a feature and making this even more stacked was the fact that it was produced entirely by the iconic DJ Quik. It was dropped during the West Coast triumph that was Kendrick Lamar slaying Drake, and it featured a whole bunch of artists from the region. The Game, Big Hit, Larry June, and Jay Worthy are just few, and it was truly another uniting moment overall.

Sometimes with so many voices on one tape, things can get messy and incoherent. But CHUPACABRA was the complete opposite as it was full of bangers from front to back. Given how successful of a release it turned out to be, it would be a mistake to not capitalize on that momentum. So, JasonMartin is doing just that by coming through with a new single, “killswitch.” It’s actually an EP, but it’s a compilation of different versions of the one track. There’s a “Reversed” rendition which puts the last two verses to the front, which in turn changes the structure production wise too. Then, Jason included “Pt. 1” and “Pt. 2” offerings that divide the four verses up. Finally, there’s the instrumental as well. It’s another bop from Jason and Daz Dillinger has some uncredited contributions on the chorus and adlibs that are well done. Check it out below, you won’t want to turn it off.

Xzibit Delivers A Part Two For “Been A Long Time” 24 Years Later

So far, we have to say that this uniting of Xzibit and Conor McGregor has been a match made in heaven. The Detroit born rapper and multimedia talent joined the UFC champion’s upstart entertainment venture Greenback Records earlier this month. The collective made the announcement on social media, writing, “In the kingdom of hip-hop, only the real ones reign supreme. A legend joins the Greenback dynasty ready to make history. We proudly welcome @xzibit to Greenback Records – the new chapter starts here.” In addition to that shocking but exciting news was the reveal of Xzibit’s first solo album since 2011’s Napalm.

Sometime next year, Greenback will house the legendary figure’s King Maker. Not much else is available in that regard. However, we now have two singles to get into as of Friday. October 11 marked his official return with the epic “Play This At My Funeral.” If you haven’t heard it yet, check it out here. But this weekend, Xzibit is dropping by with a familiar title, “Been A Long Time Pt.2.” On his popular 2000 album Restless, X dropped the inaugural track alongside the late hook master, Nate Dogg. Jenn Em fills that role on this version, and we must say she passes with flying colors. Both show off X’s slightly “softer” side, as his trademark growling delivery is still present while he raps about love and being there for his circle.

Boldy James Is Fiery & Gritty On Antt Beatz-Produced Single “Dead Flowers”

There might not be anyone pumping out more music than Boldy James right now. The Detroit native just simply has an unlimited supply of collaborations, singles, and projects at the ready. The former especially because it seems like every week for the past month or so, we have talked about him. So, it’s not a shocker at all that we are covering Boldy James again and the title this time is “Dead Flowers.” If you have been able to keep with his recent stretch of singles, you may remember his team effort with Helluva and Antt Beatz, “Super Mario.” The latter is back alongside the Across The Tracks creator for this trap and hardcore rap cut, and we are hoping a collab tape is coming.

It’s wishful thinking, as nothing has been said about it publicly, but we think it could happen. So, whether or not you decide to run with us on that prediction is up to you. We are going to because it makes this single that much more exciting. But “Dead Flowers” is good on its own too, don’t get it twisted. Boldy once again is spitting fiery and threatening bars over a cavernous production. It’s nothing new per se, but something that we took away from this track is his underrated ability to pen a catchy chorus. “Dead Flowers” has one and it makes the replay value extremely high for us. Check it out and see for yourself with the link below.

Kyle Richh & Cash Cobain Are Seeking “Closure” On Their Sexy Drill Collab

The up-and-coming New York drill trio of Kyle Richh, TaTa, and Jenn Carter, 41, has a formula. They are partiers to the core and almost every track they concoct is meant for the clubs. They’ve been riding with this for the most part since the start of the 2020’s and it’s become their identity. However, sticking to your guns for too long can become too repetitive for some. So, it was smart of Kyle Richh to switch things up, not only for himself, but for the group in the long run as well.

Yes, Kyle Richh, the de facto leader of 41, is riding solo for this new release, “Closure,” and it’s a nice change of pace. Instead of dropping an anthem for the promiscuous, he’s penning one for those who crave intimacy and a deeper connection. From the lyrics, it sounds like Richh is trying to get a girl’s attention and draw her away from another man. He thinks he can do better for her and give her a relationship that’s worth seeing through. The moody and atmospheric beat heighten that sexual intensity, as well as Cash Cobain’s feature. See if this switch-up on “Closure” is something you want to hear more of from Kyle and 41 going forward by checking out the video link below.

Roy Woods Is Ready To Get Freaky On “Hold Still”

It’s been almost a full year since Roy Woods put out a solo single, but this weekend ends that drought in the form of “Hold Still.” The R&B singer with ties to Drake’s OVO has been busy assisting other artists over that period such as Flau’jae, Lithe, Dimi, and PARIS. But he did drop a project in 2023, which was also his first in six years with Mixed Emotions. That went on to include features from Coi Leray, Jada Kingdom, and Vory. Over the course of his career, he has put out a lot of loosies. That’s what he was doing in between 2017-2023. But hopefully, this latest Roy Woods release isn’t just one of those.

One of the reasons why is because his fans are really eating it up. The 2016 era was a memorable one and it seems it left an indelible mark on everyone. They could also be referencing Roy’s introduction year (2015), as that spawned tracks like “Drama” with Drizzy, “Get You Good” and more. These cuts had a dreamy quality to them and that’s what “Hold Still” possesses too. Additionally, listeners are enjoying the late night vibes it evokes. It’s certainly got that going for it also, as Roy is singing passionately about how he wants to rock this woman’s world. ” If you need more convincing, here are a few testimonials. “Sounds like some early Roy and I am soooooo here for it 🥳🥳. ” “2016 Roy is back 🥲🫶🏼

Russ Celebrates His Life Accomplishments Over Conductor Williams-Produced “Ecstasy (Freestyle)”

Conductor Williams is a world-class talent in the producing realm and has been for a few years. His portfolio includes work with Drake, J. Cole, JID, Tyler, The Creator, Westside Gunn, and more. However, unlike names such as Metro Boomin, Southside, Mike WiLL Made-It, and The Alchemist, for example, the solo catalog still needs some bolstering. It’s not bad by any means, but we would be lying if we said we haven’t been waiting for a new solo project. Well, that’s going to happen very soon, thankfully, and it’s looking like it will be on Halloween.

It’s going to be the third installment in the CONDUCTOR WE HAVE A PROBLEM series and the second on DSPs. Currently, only the first from last year is widely available. So far, the Kansas City, MO producer has dropped off one track from it called “Get Away!” featuring Rome Streetz. Frankly, it was an excellent start to the rollout. The only problem is that the track is just under two minutes. For now, it’s looking like this could be a complaint with the album. We say that because Conductor Williams’ second single, “Ecstasy (Freestyle)” with Russ is just a few seconds longer. Again, it’s another great listen. The delicate and soulful production is a dreamy backdrop that accompanies Russ’ victory lap of his lofty accomplishments (helping himself and his family financially). But it’s just too short. Hopefully, we get some beefier cuts, but we can’t gripe too much. Stream “Ecstasy (Freestyle) below.

DMX’s Estate Begins Rollout For Posthumous LP With “Favor” Featuring Killer Mike & More

Even though DMX has been gone for three years, it feels more like an eternity. He left behind one of the most successful hip-hop legacies in recent memory. The respect for him amongst his living peers is more than enough to make anyone realize just how special he was. His trademark growly delivery led to so many major hits, and they led to a massive collection of accolades. Since 2021, his estate has been trying to carry on his impact by okaying singles, collaborations, and even an album. 2024 has seen a small handful of joint efforts already, but DMX’s team is now pulling from his solo catalog this time around with “Favor” getting a wide release today.

According to a press release, this is the lead single from the Mount Vernon, New York native’s second posthumous album. It will be titled Let Us Pray: Chapter X and it will be out everywhere on December 13. It will contain eight songs (four are instrumentals) which are actually all spoken word cuts. More specifically, it’s a small collection of prayers that DMX recorded, and they are all backed by original music from producer and multi-genre songwriter, Warryn Campbell. He’s had a huge hand in some of Kanye West’s biggest songs and projects. His list of contributions includes work on Graduation, Donda, Late Registration, and JESUS IS KING. Stream DMX’s “Favor,” featuring Killer Mike, Mary Mary, and the RoyzNoyz Orchestra below.
