BossMan Dlow Looks To Shoot The Lights Out On The Competition With “Dlow Curry”

“BossMan Dlow’s got the ball down two with five seconds on the clock. He looks to pull up from three with confidence… and he drains it as time as expires!” That’s the kind of energy that the Florida rapper is on with his debut album, Dlow Curry. He’s been on a heater all year long thanks to some viral singles, XXL Freshman spot, and his Mr Beat The Road mixtape. Now, he’s looking to put his contemporaries to bed with this 20-song effort. Across it, BossMan Dlow is bringing his trademark braggadocious attitude and a prideful mindset.

It starts right at the beginning with “Dlow Curry,” the title track named after Stephen Curry. He’s ego is absolutely massive later down the tracklist though too. “Pillsbury Dlow” with Ice Spice, “Dlow Flintstone,” and “Dlow Gucci,” all contribute to how he feels about himself. He’s clearly got big goals, and like the future Hall-of-Fame point guard, he’s determined to reach the top. We have an article coming soon about the five budding superstars going into 2025 and beyond, and spoiler alert, BossMan is on there. With arguably more hits than his last record and a more diverse flow and beat palette, he’s taking those necessary steps to become one of the faces of the rap league just like Curry is in the NBA.

Tory Lanez Reveals Surprising Regret In New Verse Aimed At Megan Thee Stallion & Kylie Jenner

Tory Lanez has been releasing a lot of music as part of his Lost Tapes series, but he’s also even offered some verses from behind bars. Moreover, he recently featured on DDG’s track “HANDLING BUSINESS,” on which he made some pretty interesting remarks in the eyes of fans. “The only one thing I regret on that night, is jumping up outta the pool with Kylie,” Tory raps on the cut, seemingly referencing the night of the Megan Thee Stallion shooting, which took place outside of Kylie Jenner’s party. The court convicted him of the crime, and although that saga is not over, he’s also looking forward to moving past it.

Referencing the debacle on wax probably won’t help much in that area, though. Regardless, there’s so much going on that it probably wouldn’t do much to stop the narrative even if it did outwardly ask to move past it. For example, Megan Thee Stallion recently accused Tory Lanez of conspiring with Milagro Gramz to spread misinformation about their case. “In one phone call, [Tory and his father] confidently asserted that [Megan] would be unable to prove that [Tory] paid Defendant for attacking [Megan],” her lawyers reportedly alleged.

Tory Lanez Speaks On Megan Thee Stallion & Kylie Jenner In New Song

However, it looks like Megan Thee Stallion and Milagro Gramz will have to mediate in order to resolve their legal issue regarding the Tory Lanez case, as the court ordered a compromise. “Rather than rebut the allegations online, Plaintiff chose to use the Courts to intimidate and silence the Defendant from exercising her First Amendment rights to publish her opinions and beliefs,” Gramz’s legal team alleged. “And also to serve as a warning to other critics that if the Plaintiff does not like what you say about her, you will likely have to deal with a federal lawsuit.”

Meanwhile, amid more new music from Tory Lanez, we’re sure we haven’t heard the end of these Megan Thee Stallion reflections. Still, it’s interesting for him to bring up the situation with Kylie Jenner as a whole, as he might consider a more big-picture perspective these days. No matter what these individuals in this situation express, fans will likely continue to fight over it for months to come.

Fat Joe Dedicates His First Album In 15 Years, “The World Changed On Me,” To His Older Brother

It’s been quite a while since we last heard a new solo project from Fat Joe. That’s especially true when it comes to his studio albums. The last one was Jealous Ones Still Envy 2 (J.O.S.E. 2) back in 2009. Of course, he’s still been extremely active, dropping some mixtapes and collab efforts with Remy Ma and Dre. 50 Cent And Eminem Reunite On ‘Gunz N Smoke’ From Snoop Dogg And Dr. Dre’s New Album, ‘Missionary’

20 years ago, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, and Eminem were running hip-hop, and all four of them are still getting after it today. In fact, they all just teamed up on “Gunz N Smoke,” a new one from Snoop and Dre’s just-released album, Missionary.

50 spoke about his admiration for Snoop in a recent interview with Big Boy, saying, “I’m a fan, I’m that first. This is why you seen him on ‘P.I.M.P.’ immediately. I’m listening to him and Dre before I could attract from him, you know what I’m saying? It’s an honor to work with him.”

He also recently discussed why he doesn’t make as much new music these days, saying, “A lot of the music, if you listen to the music that’s out right now, I have to tap into my stupid. I have to tap into the stupid side of me to write the right thing when it comes time to write the music. This is why I haven’t created as much content as I was creating in the past, and I started going toward the film production and development of these projects. Because I think I can impact things in a bigger way through that.”

Missionary is out now via Death Row/Aftermath/Interscope Records. Find more information here.

BNYX And Lil Yachty Sound Elite While “Smoking In The Rain”

BNYX has a sound that’s difficult to pin down. The producer is able to fall into line and make music that sounds comfortable for artists as varied as Yeat and LAWSON. This unpredictably makes him a perfect pairing for Lil Yachty. Boat has also spent the last few years bucking trends, and subverting the sound he cultivated in the late 2010s. “Smoking In the Rain” is a perfect marriage of BNYX and Yachty’s aesthetic interests. Its bubbly and electronic, evoking some of the latter’s production techniques. It also has an odd and bouncy chorus, courtesy of Lil Yachty.

The beat is the real story here. The synth leads cut through everything else on the track like a machete, giving off a futuristic feel. It’s smooth and metallic, but Lil Yachty brings the imperfections. The rapper’s warbly singing creates a fascinating tension with BNYX’s production. Things never stay in place for too long, so it’s impossible to get tired of it. “Smoking In the Rain” isn’t a smash hit. It is, however, a unique and genre-bending collaboration between guys who love to push boundaries. In truth, it’s one of the catchiest things Lil Yachty has put out in a while. Hopefully we get to hear him on more BNYX beats in the future.

Nicki Minaj Didn’t Drop “Pink Friday 2: The Hiatus” And Fans Are Torn

Nicki Minaj loves to drop deluxe editions. She has really figured out how to repackage and capitalize on her albums, and it works. She just dropped a tenth anniversary edition of The Pinkprint and fans loved it. Then, the Queen of Rap announced plans for Pink Friday 2: The Hiatus. It was planned as an extended version of Nicki Minaj’s last album with a handful of bonus tracks. The only problem is, Friday rolled around, and there was no Pink Friday 2: The Hiatus release. It seems the hiatus started a bit early.

Nicki Minaj is generally good about getting albums out on time. She rarely succumbs to delays, and when she does, it’s months out. It’s not the sort of last minute bait-and-switch that people like Kanye West and Playboi Carti like to rely on. Nicki Minaj was not clear about what songs would make The Hiatus, which may have played a role in the deluxe album’s delay. It’s also worth noting that Nicki decided to hold several songs back for the anticipated Pink Friday 3 release. The rapper relayed as much during an Instagram Live discussions in September.

Nicki Minaj Seemingly Went On Hiatus A Bit Early

“The new music is just too good to be thrown away on a deluxe album,” Nicki Minaj told the fans. “Last night, the songs I recorded were just way too iconic. I love you guys so much. You know that. I know you do.” The rapper still went ahead and promised that she would give her fans “something leading up to the announcement,” but it looks as though they will have to be patient. Naturally, Barbz are not happy with being told one thing and getting well, nothing. Nicki is nothing if not dedicated to making her fans happy. This is uncharacteristic, and the fans on social media have had mixed reactions.

Some are frustrated with Nicki Minaj’s rollout. There were the typical gifs expressing frustration over having stayed up for new music. There others, however, who took a more steadfast approach. They took the “hiatus” part of the Pink Friday 2 title literally. They thanked the rapper for all the music she has given fans in the last 12 months and wished her well. “Nicki Minaj has begin her Hiatus ✨ We won’t see or hear from her til 2025,” one user wrote. “Love You Queen @NICKIMINAJ.” Read on for more reactions to Nicki Minaj’s non-drop.

Snoop Dogg And Dr. Dre Deliver The Goods With New Album “Missionary”

Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre are the most iconic duo in hip hop history. They broke the mold with “Nuthin’ But a ‘G’ Thang” in 1992 and they haven’t looked back. They’ve also managed to keep the bar for their collaborations astoundingly high. 2001 and Compton were musical triumphs. And now we have the long anticipated Missionary, the sequel to Snoop Dogg’s debut, Doggystyle. Making a sequel to a classic is a daunting task, but Snoop and Dre manage to deliver the goods. Is it as good as their best material? Not really, but it’s still excellent.

The album opener, “Fore Play,” is a soulful and lush banger featuring BJ the Chicago Kid. It sets the table by establishing a laid back and G-Funk anchored sound. It works perfectly. The singles have been hit or miss, especially the Sting collaboration “Another Part of Me.” Fortunately, the gimmickry is at a minimum throughout the album. Missionary plays it straight, while allowing Snoop Dogg to flex his chemistry with a ton of superstar guests. 50 Cent and Eminem shine on the posse cut “Gunz N Smoke,” and Dr. Dre does his thing on his trio of guest verses. “Outta da Blue” is probably the standout cut in terms of Dre rhymes. Unlikely features also deliver, whether it be Jelly Roll or the late, great Tom Petty. Missionary can feel a bit like a kitchen sink album, sometimes, but the final product is a lot of fun.

Playboi Carti Teases “I AM MUSIC” Release With Soulful New Snippet

Stop us if this sounds familiar. Playboi Carti hops on social media and drops hints about new music. He then release a snippet that’s less than a minute long. Fans lose their minds, and begin speculating about the release date for I AM MUSIC. It’s happened at least a dozen times over the last few years. Carti’s IG antics have ensured that this routine has played out multiple times in the last few months alone. Well, he did it again. Playboi Carti dropped a new song snippet on December 12. Fans were mere hours away from getting Friday releases, and the rapper decided to hog the attention.

Playboi Carti’s new snippet comes with visuals. The rapper once again filmed what looks to be a music video for a song that we only get to hear a segment of. The new snippet, which is untitled, clocks in at 41 seconds. Admittedly, the snippet sounds fantastic. Playboi Carti has dabbled in different sounds over the last few months. He sounded like Future on “ALL RED,” and went full on electro-pop for The Weeknd bop “Timeless.” The new snippet sees Carti hopping on a gospel flavored soul sample. It’s the sort of thing a hip hop would expect to hear on a Kanye West song. It was the visual at the end of the snippet that drew most of the attention, though.

Playboi Carti Hops On A Surprising Instrumental

The snippet comes to an end, before transitioning to a white graphic that reads “I AM MUSIC.” The title for Playboi Carti’s album has been circulating since 2021. So has the font, for that matter. This is the first time I AM MUSIC has been tacked on to the end of a song snippet, though. Fans flocked to social media to speculate what Carti’s graphic could mean. Does it mean the new album is around the corner? Is this confirmation that the song will be included on the final tracklist? Will snippets without the official graphic be excluded?

Like we said at the onset, we’ve been here before. It’s exciting to see Playboi Carti pop back out with new music. Especially music that sounds so different from his usual rage style. Kanye West has been confirmed to be involved in the making of I AM MUSIC. Carti claimed that West has sent him multiple beats, and it’s not a stretch to infer that the snippet could feature one of them. Playboi Carti and West are two of the least reliable rappers of their generation, though. Enjoy the snippet, but it might not be a good idea to hold your breath.

Yhapojj Channels His Emotions On Colorful New Album “No Ceilings”

Yhapojj is right in the sweet spot of sad boy rappers. It’s been well-chronicled that hip hop has taken a less celebratory, and more moody direction in the last decade. Call it the Drake effect, or the Soundcloud effect, but it’s a thing. Yhapojj’s lyrics are reflective and self-effacing in the vein of those who influenced him. What sets him apart, however, is his production. The rapper prefers to bare his soul over glitzy and often colorful instrumentals. No Ceilings isn’t a happy album, per say, but it sounds as bright and lush as its pink artwork suggests.

Yhapojj has one speed, which is rap-singing. He adopts the same flow across the entire album. It then falls to the production to keep things sounding fresh, and it delivers. The bittersweet “All Falls Down” is a slice of Lil Uzi Vert-style emo rap. “Blo K” sounds like it a long lost cut from Playboi Carti’s Die Lit period, while “Untouchable” evokes classic cloud rap production. Yhabojj’s lyrics are often difficult to make out, due to his slurring of words or his vocal fry. The good news is that the lyrics are less a point of focus than another instrument to fill out the musical bed of each song. No Ceilings is nothing like the Lil Wayne tape of the same name, but it holds up on its own.

Let us know what you think of this brand new album, in the comments section down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will continue to keep you informed on all of your favorite artists and their upcoming projects.

DDG Previews New Song With Tory Lanez Verse Recorded In Prison

DDG is famous for multiple reasons. He broke out as a YouTuber and social media personality. His profile went through the roof when he started dating singer Halle Bailey. Now, however, DDG is dedicated to his music career. The celebrity has abandoned his YouTube career to make a focused push at being a rapper following his split from Bailey. He recently dropped the single “Trickin.” It’s the teaser for his new single, however, that has fans intrigued. DDG seemingly linked up with Tory Lanez, despite the latter currently serving a decade behind bars. The song is rumored to drop December 13.

DDG has yet to release song, or its title. He did, however, preview a snippet of it on social media. The rapper can be seen bopping along in the studio while playing the song on his phone. He then holds up the phone to a microphone. Tory Lanez’s verse can be heard blaring through the phone speakers. Tory seemingly recorded his verse via telephone while locked up. It’s the first time fans have gotten to hear a Lanez verse since the rapper’s recording equipment was seized by prison guards in September. Lanez had rolled out an ongoing series called Prison Tapes, but the series was shut down unceremoniously.

DDG Previewed Tory Lanez’s Verse On An iPhone

“I was shut down because the higher ups figured out what I was really doing with The Prison Tapes,” the rapper claimed via Instagram. “And how many inmates were being helped in a life-changing way because of them.” DDG’s decision to link up with Tory Lanez has surprised many, given the former’s public image as a family man and a clean cut artist. That said, the rapper has never been afraid of delving into complex topics or addressing controversial aspects of his life. On “WHAT U BAD FOR,” DDG referenced his highly publicized split from Halle Bailey.

DDG flexed his newfound single status, but admitted that he will always have love for Bailey. “Thing about Halo mommy, you know that’s my baby forever,” he rapped. “Y’all know that I love that—.” The word “H*e” gets replaced with the word “go.” DDG has yet to confirm a title or release date for his new album. That said, fans have gotten to hear multiple singles. It’s safe to assume that the Tory Lanez collab will make the final tracklist.
