Turk Admits Hot Boys’ Latest Reunion Started Out “Tense”

Earlier this month, the Hot Boys came together for a reunion at Lil Weezyana Fest in New Orleans. The performance was their first together in roughly 15 years, according to Complex, and featured several of their biggest hits. According to Turk, however, it wasn’t all smooth sailing despite what fans saw onstage.

During a recent interview with B High ATL, he reflected on the performance, revealing that it was tense at first. While one might expect this to be due to issues between some of the group’s members, he claims it was simply due to the fact that they hadn’t performed together in such a long time. “When I walked in, it was a warm welcome and [Mannie] Fresh and them was getting the DJs and getting the list together,” he explained. “We’d had the list prior to it but of course it changed up a little bit. But everything went smooth because we so professional. It’s like man, we been here before.”

Turk Reflects On Hot Boys’ Lil Weezyana Fest Reunion

“Then when Wayne came in the room, we got straight to it. Came in, dapped everybody, hugs and it just was straight to the business,” Turk continued. “We sung the songs and it was tense. It was tense. I gotta give y’all the real rundown and not on no stuck up sh*t, but it was just a ‘man we ain’t do this sh*t in a long time’ type tense.”

“Everybody just being extra careful, being respectful to each other and shit because like I said, we haven’t all been in the room with each other,” he concluded. “But by the time it got to ‘Back That Azz Up,’ it was the nostalgia and we felt what the fans felt! And it was just – we back.” What do you think of Juvenile admitting that the Hot Boys reunion was “tense” at first? Are you surprised by this or not? Ice-T Reveals How Social Media “Amplifies” Rap Beef

There’s been plenty of talk about rap beef this year, and recently, Ice-T shared his take on how it’s changed over time. According to him, it’s always been a part of hip-hop on some level but becomes a problem when it’s no longer about the music. He also notes how it can be “amplified” by factors like social media, with sometimes disastrous results.

“Hip-hop has always been competitive. So, saying I’m better than you is a part of hip-hop,” he said on Boss Talk 101 earlier this week. “The disses that’s going on, like, I can outrap you is one thing. But then when you take it to the next level, like, ‘When I see you it’s a problem.’”

Ice-T Discusses How Rap Beef Has Changed Over The Years

“The problem with beef is that it can escalate away from you,” he continued. “Say I have beef with Treach and I’m talking sh*t about Treach. I could run into one of his fans on the street who wants to get active.” Ice-T went on, also noting how certain factors such as social media can make rap beef much worse. He added that he doesn’t personally understand why people bring their beef online when it could just be squashed instead.

“Having beef is just not smart if you can avoid it,” he said. “Another thing is [older rappers] didn’t have social media, big difference. Social media is an amplifier to everything. It amplifies everything… It forces a reaction that really could be squashed so much simpler. Now, why people have a problem and take it to social media is beyond me.” What do you think of Ice-T sharing his take on rap beef during a recent interview? What about him claiming that social media only “amplifies” it? Do you agree with him or not? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

YSL Woody Says He Has “No Fear” Now That Young Thug Is Free

It’s probably safe to assume that YSL Woody and Young Thug are not on the best of terms. Sure, the latter is officially free as of Halloween, but you could argue that the former’s actions were not as helpful as they could have been. Nonetheless, Thugger is back and his fans, loved ones, and contemporaries alike are extremely happy about it. But it will be interesting to monitor how these two especially decide to go about their relationship. Woody has been constantly in the headlines (almost as much as the rapper) for his court appearances and interviews.

While many were just wanting him to keep his mouth shut, others were wildly entertained by his antics. So, it was no surprise that so many were eager to hear his thoughts on Thug’s freedom. But Woody didn’t say anything flashy. He’s simply thankful that the trial is over. Given his prior willingness to speak constantly about the subject, though, he was recently on The Danza Project to discuss his thoughts further. Woody was asked if he was genuinely thrilled for Thug to be out, and he responded very similarly.

However, what he says after that may raise some eyebrows. “I don’t have no fear. They not a threat to me, and I’m not a threat to them.” That could be him alluding to how sorry he is for his actions and that him and Thug may have made peace behind closed doors. Nonetheless, Woody continues, ” I don’t wanna see nobody in jail. Like I said… I went through a dark phase in my life where I let the demons get the best of me. People say ‘oh he a killer.’ Now, when them demons get to you they can say whatever they want. I know y’all ain’t been in my position. I ain’t got no point to prove to y’all.” Here, he could be referring to all of the hate and the accusations that were thrown his way during the debacle.

However, he ends things by reiterating that he loves that Thug is home, wants to see him happy, and that Woody doesn’t want to be a burden for anyone. Lastly, he was asked whether or not he could see the two of them in the same room together to which he replied, “I don’t wanna speak on that.” Overall, it sounds like things are better, but they still have a ways to go. What are your thoughts on YSL Woody’s comments on Young Thug’s freedom? Do you think they will ever be able to talk again? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Young Thug and YSL Woody. Adam22 Slams SZA For Calling Him A “Culture Vulture” After Kendrick Lamar Interview Criticism

Kendrick Lamar recently sat down with SZA for Harper’s Bazaar, but the interview hasn’t exactly been well received. Adam22, for example, was quick to put the Compton rapper on blast for what he saw as a “softball” interview. “Supporting Black media outlets, hip hop media outlets,” he said sarcastically on his podcast earlier this week. “Supporting real journalism, you let your label mate, basically, interview you.”

Now, the No Jumper host believes that SZA heard his commentary, and wasn’t at all pleased with it. During a recent chat with DJ Akademiks, he explained how one social media user had a poll asking whether or not he’s a “culture vulture,” on which SZA voted yes. “I’m gonna be real with you, I couldn’t pick SZA out of a police lineup right now like I do not know anything about SZA. So that’s pretty cool, honestly,” he claimed.

Adam22 Thinks SZA Was Upset By His Take On Her Kendrick Lamar Interview

This prompted Akademiks to look back on his own past with SZA, which has been rocky, to say the least. Last August, he went on an unhinged rant about the Grammy winner’s appearance, calling her “fat as f**k,” making fun of her BBL, and much more. Months later, he revealed that in the midst of their beef, he received a call from Drake trying to squash it.

Adam22 wasn’t the only one with a controversial opinion on Kendrick’s interview with SZA, however. Joe Budden also shared his take on it during an episode of his podcast, theorizing that Kendrick was trying to pander to Drake’s fanbase. “I felt like this is him coming around having to pander back to the pansies,” he speculated. “‘I killed King Pansy–‘ to him, I’m not calling him that. But, ‘I killed King Pansy, but I lost some pansies in the process, so I gotta come back around and appeal to them.’” What do you think of Adam22 going after SZA? 50 Cent Recalls Giving Drake This Advice After Kendrick Lamar Beef

It goes without saying that Drake’s viral lyrical battle with Kendrick Lamar has been difficult for the Toronto rapper to come back from. According to 50 Cent, however, it’s not impossible. During a recent interview with Billboard, the hitmaker shared his take on the situation and recalled some advice he gave to Drizzy earlier this year.

“Drake is in that position right now,” he began. “They trying to resist the music, because he put out some things that are dope. I say a lot of things on social and they get upset because they look and go, ‘Ahh, I’m automatically supposed to be on Kendrick’s side because of my association with Dre.’ And I love Kendrick, but I’ll say it to you—I didn’t see where what [Drake] did was wack at any point.”

50 Cent Reveals He Told Drake Not To Slow Down

“They giving [Drake] the, ‘Oh you wack, you finished.’ I’m like, ‘Nah, come on.’ That’s the system trying to make some sort of resistance and it’s from the consistency. When you win consecutively, that part of the hip-hop demographic wants you out of there. I started to feel the resistance for the Curtis album,” 50 Cent continued. “I was telling him, it’s not him… I’m listening on the outskirts, it’s not you. Don’t let yourself think that for a second. On some real s**t, I said, ‘They said you lost, OK. Well, what did you lose?’ What exactly did he lose, if he got $300 something million on his last tour? You didn’t lose a muthaf**kin thing, man.”

“If that’s the moment, you keep your creative energy in the right place, and keep creating. If you slow down because you feel, ‘What the f**k?’ The resistance will make you feel like your material isn’t good. Then you gotta figure out how to keep pushing, how to keep creating—because that’s what it feels like to you at the moment. That s**t was good for hip-hop. It made both of them create quality material faster,” he also added. What do you think of 50 Cent revealing the advice he gave Drake after his beef with Kendrick Lamar this year? Do you think it was solid or not? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Ab-Soul Addresses J Cole Beef Rumors

Lately, there have been rumors floating around that J Cole included Ab-Soul on his Might Delete Later track “Pi” as a jab at Kendrick Lamar, and that they’re at odds because of it. According to Ab-Soul, however, this isn’t actually the case. During a recent interview with DJ Hed and Gina Views, he set the record straight, revealing that he actually recorded his verse as a favor for Daylyt. Moreover, he said he didn’t even know Cole would be on the song at first.

“First of all, shout out my man, Cole,” Ab-Soul said. “Cole is really the homie. Everybody be saying we use the word ‘friend’ and ‘homie’ loosely… but Cole’s a good dude. He’s been concerned about my eyes, my diet.”

Ab-Soul Calls J Cole “The Homie”

“Me and Lyt did the joint ‘PI’ I did it for Daylyt — It’s Daylyt’s record,” Ab-Soul continued. “It’s called ‘PI’ literally because when me and Daylyt’s song ended, it ended on 3:14. The time, the length of the song.” He went on, recalling the moment he learned Cole was going to be on the song. “I wake up one morning, and Daylyt is like ‘bro, check this out,’ and he sends me the song,” he said. “Cole’s on there going cr*zy!” Ultimately, he was excited to hear him contribute to the track but was a bit taken aback considering Cole’s plan to jump on a Herbert song fell through.

“I’m low key hot,” he recalled with a laugh. “Cole was supposed to be on ‘F*ck Out My Face,’ for real. I’m on his [Daylyt] head like, ‘bro, you gotta let me know if you’re gonna send this sh*t off. He ate us up, bro!’” What do you think of Ab-Soul addressing rumors that he and J Cole were at odds? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Oschino Claims Diddy Allegedly Propositioned His Friend For Oral Sex

Oschino recently sat down for a VladTV interview with DJ Vlad with some allegations and reflections concerning the Diddy scandal. “I mean, that’s the law, it says ‘innocent until proven guilty,’ right?” he began. “At least that’s what they say. You can’t pay $50 million to get out? Yeah, but it’s still allegedly. Everybody had bail, everybody. They told him, ‘No, Puff Daddy, we don’t want your money.’ I mean, that’s the number one news on TV. Then he got his kids, I mean, it’s sad. But he kind of brought it on himself, because he got a lot of responsibility with that kind of money, you know what I mean? Like, it’s no way I would be doing something illegal just for sex that risks me losing my empire like that. I haven’t met him, I was around him one time. But I heard stories about him a long time ago.

“I didn’t believe it because I just thought he was too cool for any of that stuff, you know what I mean?” Oschino alleged. “Well, somebody told me, he [allegedly] asked some guy I know, ‘Would you suck a d**k for a million dollars?’ This is, like, 20 years ago. It’s different if a n***a say that and he don’t got a million dollars. But if a n***a saying that to you and he got a million – But that’s the only thing. I didn’t believe it, though. At the time, I didn’t believe him. Because this was a long time ago. We was talking about something else. He said, ‘Yo, you know what boss said to me?’ But at the time, Diddy was, like, the s**t. So I just was like, ‘Man, you can’t say that, bro.’ I just didn’t believe him, you know what I mean? I looked at Diddy in a different type of light. I would think, if you got $900 million and stuff like that, you can make your girl do whatever you want.

Oschino Speaks On Diddy On VladTV

“You don’t got to do all the crazy stuff,” Oschino alleged. “He changed their life. So why they’re trying to make it seem like he forced everybody to do everything? Nobody’s never said nothing all these years. Everybody got all these stories about what happened. Why they wasn’t saying nothing before? I just don’t understand it. I just feel like everybody’s trying to get some shine off of it. But if you really felt like somebody was getting trafficked or somebody was underage, and you ain’t do nothing about it… They got a hotline. With him hitting Cassie in the hallway, that killed him. That killed it. Without that, he had a little faith, but that video, it killed it. You know what I mean? That right there just killed it. Especially when you got that type of, like… You Puff Daddy. Like, you the top. You should never have to do nothing like that because of who you are. It made everybody look at him different.

“I don’t like to judge people, ’cause everybody has their days and whatever,” Oschino concluded. “But you got $900 million, you can’t be doing stuff like that, bro. He needed somebody around him that wasn’t a yes man. You need one friend that don’t care about your money that’s going to tell you the truth. ‘Cause without that, I mean, what they say? Absolute power, absolute corrupts? Like, he just thought he could do anything, and he forgot. He forgot about consequences. See, regular people, we know about consequences. I’ve been to prison. I mean, I knew certain stuff that, like, ‘Oh, you did that? You know you can’t do that.’ But when you’ve been doing it for so long, and you feel like you can do anything, you [forget].”

North West Digs Into Kim Kardashian’s Parenting By Revealing Her Biggest Flaw

Whenever we get insights into the daily lives of massive celebrities, even the smallest and most insignificant details can make us regular folk relate to them just a little bit more. That’s exactly what we got for Interview magazine’s 55th anniversary edition, for which Kim Kardashian and her daughter North West sat down for an interview. Kim was the one mostly interviewing North, and this led to reflect on their family dynamic and their relationship to the media in some pretty curious ways. But one of the funniest parts of the whole thing was when the SKIMS mogul asked the 11-year-old “TALKING” singer the following: “How’s my cooking?” And she fell right into the trap…

“You haven’t cooked for us in a long time. Last time you cooked was two Halloweens ago!” North West hilariously responded to Kim Kardashian. However, that wasn’t all that we learned about the Kardashian household. North also explained how she uses an alias when she’s with friends so that they don’t attract unwanted attention from snoopy passerby. “My friends call me that so people don’t know who I am,” she expressed.

“I like taking pictures of myself, but I don’t like when paparazzi do,” North West answered when Kim Kardashian asked about her experiences with being on camera. “When I just woke up and there’s so much paparazzi, I’m like, ‘Yo, I’m going to sue you.’ If I’m ready, if I’m not tired, if my outfit’s good, I’m like, ‘Okay, I could take a picture.’” Out of all of Kanye West and Kim’s children, North is the one who receives the most media attention. She featured on a couple of Ye songs, she’s their first child, and her social media presence developed quickly.

Meanwhile, despite everything going on in their individual lives, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian still prioritize family in their coparenting journey. It hasn’t been easy, and you probably already know the saga of how ugly things turned out. Still, it at least seems like the kids have a positive bond with both. Hopefully we get to see more of North West and her siblings hilariously comment on their parents and grapple with the complicated nature of their celebrity lives and family dynamics.

Benzino Reveals Why He Wants To Squash Eminem Beef And Be Friends

Benzino and Eminem’s beef goes way back, but amid some exciting new developments in the latter’s personal life, it looks like it could be over for good. During a recent interview with TMZ Hip Hop, Benzino shared that he wants to put the past behind him. To prove it, he even revealed that he congratulated Em after he learned he was going to be a grandfather.

“At 59 years old enough is enough like come on man. Like, listen you know I have four children. I’m not a grandfather yet. The irony is that he did say nobody wanted to hear their grandpa rap on [‘Nail in the Coffin’],” The Source icon explained. “After all these years I’m saying man wouldn’t it be something if he was a grandfather before me? I swear I used to think that.”

Our situation, back-and-forth I just want everybody to know it’s hip-hop. Battling in hip-hop has been since day one okay and I don’t want people to think that I wish any harm on him or any bad intentions, streetwise.” He went on to describe how he’d like to have a “real conversation” with the rapper, so they can finally put their feud to rest after over two decades.

“I really wanna be this guy’s friend,” he added of Eminem, “I don’t wanna be his enemy no more… I just feel like I’m at the age where I wanna lead by example.” What do you think of Benzino wanting to squash his beef with Eminem for good? 6ix9ine Pledges To Stay “Squeaky Clean” After Signing Massive Deal

6ix9ine recently signed a massive deal with Kartel Records that seemingly aims to redirect his career and net him a wild bag. For those unaware, reports on the matter from TMZ indicate that he will receive $1 million to make a Spanish-language, ten-song album and will get $250K for each concert on a wide-spanning tour. All in all, this could net Tekashi around $6 million. But apparently, there’s also a clause in the contract that directs him to stay out of legal trouble as part of their deal. TMZ interviewed the artist to elaborate some more on these contract stipulations.

It’s not a record deal,” 6ix9ine told TMZ, explaining how he sees the actual details of the Kartel Music partnership. “I think that’s what people – it’s an exclusive tour deal that I’m doing in Mexico, South America, and… Central America, South America, United States, and Mexico. Like, the exclusivity deal. Yeah, [there’s going to be a new album], but the album belongs to them. To Kartel Music. Because it’s like Mexican regional music. Like, tumbados and, you know, more – it’s nothing hip-hop.”

6ix9ine Speaks On His Record Deal

Then, the TMZ hosts asked about the clause that prompts him to stay clean and unproblematic, which you most likely think isn’t a characteristic that he’s embodied over the years. “No, [I’m not worried about staying out of trouble],” 6ix9ine answered. “Because, I mean, like, if you know 6ix9ine, you know now, like, I’m squeaky clean. Like, I stay out of trouble. It’s just, trouble seems – its way to find me all the time.” However, with all this as context, there’s no telling how the actual album or tour will shape up. Maybe it’s a big flop or it skyrockets him back into the mainstream consciousness.

Meanwhile, there is still a lot of animosity toward 6ix9ine in popular culture, so many folks couldn’t care less about this news or outright oppose his success. But amid many other conversations around people switching to other genres from hip-hop, as well as wider criticism of clout chasing antics and industry cash cows, his evolution and cultural relevance is still a curious tale to break down. We’ll see if the near future makes this a more critical or accepting conversation…
