Iann Dior Is Fed Up With The Love Games On “House On Fire”

One of the lanes that iann dior thrives in the most is the heartbreak/break up songs. Most of that comes from the expertise in genres such as pop punk and emo rap, that the youngster from Puerto Rico has. That may be a strong description, especially with the fact that he has not been around that long. But, he really has developed those skills nicely over time. It shows tenfold on iann dior’s new song “House On Fire.”

This track can be found on his new EP BLIND. He dropped it over this past weekend and it contains five other songs. You may have heard this cut already, as it has been out for a couple of weeks. However, we unfortunately missed it during its release. But, after hearing it for the first time, it is a shame we did not post about it back then.

We gushed about it in our BLIND write-up and we felt it was worth covering on its own. Iann pens a track about a love that is expiring by the second as he grows tired of the love interest’s child-like games. “Let all the flames get higher
Take all your s*** and leave, I know you not missing me / So come set this house on fire
,” iann sings with a catchy melody. You can check out the fiery record above to see why we are so in love with it.

Future Steals The Show On Meek Mill-led “Giving Chanel”

Meek Mill has been made fun of a ton lately as fans continue to put his sexuality in question. This is happening because of the rumors circling that him and Diddy were in a relationship. Trolls are also having a time of it, especially after Meek Mill shouted out Future on Twitter for his verse on “Giving Chanel.” This track can be found on the Philadelphia rapper’s latest EP.

HEATHENISM is Mill’s five-track project that released this past weekend. The only other feature to be found is Fivio Foreign on “Whatever I Want.” Future and Meek have been collaborators for years. Their working relationship dates back to 2013 when they, along with Fabolous worked on the Dreamchasers 3 cut “Money Ain’t No Issue.”

On this latest joint offering though, Future absolutely dominates “Giving Chanel.” His verse takes up the bulk of the runtime. However, he manages to be entertaining throughout his performance. Hendrix’s fast-paced flow is stank-face inducing and he adds some cool cadences as well. For example, when he rhymes words with long “e” sounds he really draws out the vowel sound. You can check out the HEATHENISM track above.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new song, “Giving Chanel,” by Meek Mill and Future? Is this the best track from HEATHENISM why or why not? What is your favorite element of the song and why? Who had the stronger performance? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Quotable Lyrics:

I got them hitters with me, brought a whole lot of switches with me like I’m back in the trenches
I took the street route when I wake up and leave out, I can throw on Givenchy
I’m in the back of the ‘Bach with a ‘Bach followin’ me with a Rolls behind
I got the Mac on the side of me, rackys, and I’m rich as a athlete
I don’t know how to talk back to the police, I get caught with a whole ki’

Iann Dior Showcases Some Solid Singing Chops On EP “BLIND”

Iann Dior burst onto the scene back at the start of the 2020’s with he and 24kGoldn’s smash hit “Mood.” The song is over 1.8 billion (!) streams since its release in 2021. While the young Puerto Rican artist still has a respectable 11 million plus monthlies on the platform, the hype around him does not feel as strong as it once did. It seems artists like him and 24k had their massive hit and then people left them behind sort of. However, iann dior is still churning out some solid material if you were not aware, like his new EP BLIND.

This six-song project quickly follows up his 2023 album leave me where you found me. Iann Dior is still rocking the pop punk, emo rap style that he became known for. However, BLIND is more of a foray into the pop sound than anything else. Its lead single “House On Fire” is a terrific start to the tape that climaxes instrumentally around the 2:00 mark.

Listen To BLIND By Iann Dior

In the press release for iann’s newest effort, the “Blind Intro” gives away the tape’s meaning and overall message. “They say we hide things that we’re scared to see, maybe you were that for me.” Most of the tracks here are about relationships and the other usual topics we have heard from him in years past. Even, though the lyrical evolution is not as substantial as some would probably like, iann has some great tracks here.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new EP, BLIND, by iann dior? Is this his best project ever, why or why not? What songs are you gravitating toward and why? Do you think his hype has died down, or is he still a top-flight genre-bending hip-hop artist? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. EARTHGANG & Spillage Village Deliver 5-Song EP “ROBOPHOBIA”

Back in November 2023, experimentative rap duo EARTHGANG gave us a first look at the type of direction their next project would take. That path is one of funk, soul, R&B, with some of their hip-hop knowledge thrown in for good measure. On Instagram earlier this month they shared this message. “Robophobia is a sonic dive into a new terrain for @EarthGang as we explore new soundscapes and topics on imperfections, connections and projections within humanity’s relationship with each other and AI.” “BLACKLIGHT” was the introductory track for the now-released tape.

EARTHGANG’s ROBOPHOBIA is also a bit of sequel for the Atlanta natives. Back in September of last year, they worked their extended rap collective Spillage Village to bring a five-track EP, RIP Human Art. These two projects do share some commonalities both thematically and curation wise. As for the latter, this latest entry in the EARTHGANG vs The Algorithm series is also five tracks.

For the themes both are centering around technology, imperfections, and our relationship with AI. Which makes sense considering their outlook they mentioned earlier. All in all it is a very solid EP on both the writing and production fronts. It all sounds futuristic, vibey, and fun all at the same time.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new EP, ROBOPHOBIA, by EARTHGANG and Spillage Village? Do you like this sonic direction for the duo, why or why not? Who had the best feature on the record and why? What songs are you gravitating toward the most so far? Kevin Durant Slides Over Stalley’s “Scar ed Money” Track

Kevin Durant is one of many NBA superstars to express their passion for music, especially hip-hop. We have seen plenty of examples in the past and present and some are still going strong today. Shaq and Damian Lillard are the two most prominent names producing some interesting material. A couple of days ago TMZ recovered a sneak peek of Kevin Durant and Massillon, Ohio rapper, Stalley, laying down some verses. Well, the day has arrived as this first-time duo has just dropped their song “Scared Money.” It is a very low-key vibe with soft boom-baps and an almost jazz-like instrumental.

Both sound ultra-buttery smooth, especially Kevin Durant. Again, he loves music, but he does not have much experience on the mic. He actually has another feature that was released way back in 2012 with Chevy Woods and Privaledge. That was called “Some Winners.” For Stalley, “Scared Money” is also the title track of his new EP. The veteran Midwest MC put three songs it, with “Farming” being the lead single.

Listen To “Scared Money” By Stalley & Kevin Durant

Additionally, this tape serves as a precursor to Stalley’s full-length album. It will be called Peerless and it is expected to see a March release date. TMZ says this collaboration came to be because KD was wanting to rap on something and he reached out to Stalley for the opportunity. Travonne Edwards, a mutual friend, helped create the beat that you can hear above. Fans are also loving the record online and for good reason.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new song, “Scared Money,” by Stalley and Kevin Durant? Should he Durant drop a full project at some point, why or why not? Is he the best current NBA rapper? Is this the strongest track from Stalley’s new EP Scared Money? Does this have you excited for his forthcoming album? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Stalley and Kevin Durant. Finally, stay with us for the most informative song posts throughout the week.

Little Simz “Drop 7” Review

Little Simz started her Drop EP series back in 2014, with its first five editions surrounding the release of her 2015 debut album. Drop 6 arrived in 2020, acting as a transition between her critically acclaimed studio albums, Grey Area and Sometimes I Might Be Introvert. Unlike her Inflo-produced albums, the five-track EP included production from numerous beat-makers, including Kal Banx, BLK VYNL, and St Francis Hotel.

Since 2019, Simz and Inflo have been on a 3-peat run of stellar hip hop masterpieces. They have consistently outdone themselves as one of hip hop’s most talented rapper/producer duos. In 2022, they dropped their third full-length collaboration, No Thank You. With Inflo’s help, we are currently seeing Simz at what appears to be a long-lasting creative peak. As we await her next album, Little Simz is back with Drop 7, a new EP fully produced by British musician Jakwob. It gives us an exciting glimpse into the next phase of her artistic evolution.

Little Simz Immerses Herself In New Sounds

Little Simz and Jakwob are frequent collaborators. He notably produced “Rollin’ Stone” from Sometimes I Might Be Introvert. However, this is their very first time locking in for an entire project. From Grey Area to No Thank You, Simz and Inflo built their own unique sound chemistry, but Drop 7 sees Jakwob pushing her out of her comfort zone. Little Simz explores completely new musical territory on this EP. Over the course of seven tracks, she covers a range of genres.

The first two songs blend hip hop with Brazilian funk. This sound may be new for her, but it is unsurprising considering she once rapped about being “in São Paulo eating palm hearts.” “Mood Swings” is a minimal yet energetic opening track that is dynamic in how it transitions between a calm hook and hard-hitting verses. The song seamlessly flows into “Fever,” another danceable Brazilian funk track. From there, we get hip hop bangers like the fast-paced “Torch” and the bouncy “Power.” There is also “I Ain’t Feelin’ It,” which has a wavy trap instrumental. Songs like the house fusion, “SOS” and the Jersey Club-inspired “Far Away” also test the limits of Little Simz’s sound. She traverses each of these musical styles with ease, freeing herself of artistic boundaries.

A Short Yet Adventurous Listen

With Jakwob’s multifaceted production skills, Drop 7 proves to be a short yet adventurous listen. His beats recall the aesthetic of Little Simz’s earlier work but with a more diverse soundscape. The experimental production is part of what makes this EP such an enjoyable change of pace. Still, Little Simz is always the star of her own show. Much like on Drop 6, she tries new flows and cadences.

Simz sounds more playful than ever on songs like “Fever,” where she raps in Portuguese and gives another nod to São Paulo. She proclaims herself as “International Simbi.” There is also “Torch” where she tries different voices. She playfully asks listeners if they “wanna see some more” before telling them “don’t be afraid of the bounce” as soon as the beat drops. The aptly-titled “Mood Swings” shifts between soft-spoken lyrics over muted percussion and demanding bars over explosive drums.

Simz also flexes her success and realness on “I Ain’t Feelin’ It.” On this track, she references her Top Boy character as she says, “shell, shell, shell when they see me / Shelley’s nail bar only exists on the TV.” No matter how she raps, Little Simz is always commanding in her delivery, demanding the attention of the listener. She even reaches beyond rapping as she sings on the closing track, “Far Away.”

Overall, Drop 7 comes and goes as a 15-minute listen, but its seven songs leave a lasting impression of the potential next steps in Little Simz’s creative progression. It is a quality reminder of how the Drop series has helped foster this growth. Drop 7 is ultimately satisfying as a short EP that builds anticipation for her next full-length album. The latest installment in the series hopefully signifies what is next to come from the UK wordsmith.

Little Simz Explores The Club Scene On “Drop 7” EP

One of the most intriguing rappers from the UK area is back to bring something fresh to her discography. We are talking about London’s Little Simz. Arguably the best the country has to offer, the soon-to-be 30-year-old is always blending creative instrumentals with pinpoint lyricism. If you have the mindset that female rappers these days are trash, just check out a Little Simz project. She is as close as a sure thing gets with every release. The amount of effort that goes into each song is something to behold.

Little Simz dropped her last full-length record just a little over a year ago with NO THANK YOU. It was a terrific listen that quickly became an album of the year candidate right before the end of 2022. Simz had some beautiful songs about being comfortable with yourself and loving everything about you. Today though, she is adding onto a series that she started in the early stages of her career.

Listen To Drop 7 By Little Simz

The colorful musical mind has sporadically put out an EP series called Drop. Usually, the tracklists a do not exceed five songs, but this seventh one ironically has seven. This also marks a decade long achievement for Simz. On Drop 7, she explores some dancier sounds that have a faster pace to them. There are some melodic cuts sprinkled in as well, allowing for Simz to show off her singing talents. The one drawback is that a good deal of the songs are too short. But, this is an EP and this may not be the last we see of her this year.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new EP, Drop 7, by Little Simz? Where does this project rank in her discography and why? Do you think that something bigger is coming later in the year? Which songs are you gravitating toward the most right now? If she added features who should she have brought on? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this.
