Suge Knight Says Drake’s Use Of A.I. 2Pac Is A “Bad Look,” Calls Out Snoop Dogg For Late Rapper’s “Downfall”

Suge Knight criticized Drake’s use of A.I. to create a verse from the likeness of 2Pac and Snoop Dogg on his latest Kendrick Lamar diss, “Taylor Made Freestyle.” Not only did he think using ‘Pac as a “pawn” was lame, but he also blamed Snoop Dogg for the late rapper’s demise and said putting them on a song together is a “bad look.” Knight discussed the track during the latest episode of his Collect Call podcast.

“Young people do what young people do. It’s y’all turn, but regarding the homie ‘Pac, he wasn’t no chump,” he said. “Putting him on a song and dissing Kendrick [Lamar] for everybody entertainment — that ain’t how it go. Then putting him on a song with Snoop, who was a part of his downfall and exit, ain’t ever a good look. ‘Pac was a king on that chessboard. He never was a pawn, so he can’t make him be a pawn now.”

Snoop Dogg also reacted to the track, sharing a video of himself on Instagram seemingly confused by the drama. “They did what? When? How? Are you sure? [Sigh] Y’all have a good night,” he said after the song dropped. “Why everybody calling my phone, blowing me up? What the f*ck— what happened? What’s going on? I’m going back to bed. Good night.” Additionally, 2Pac’s brother, Mopreme Shakur, told TMZ he wasn’t a fan of how Drake weaponized the late rapper for a beef.

50 Cent Predicts What Chris Brown Will Do To Quavo Following Second Diss Track

50 Cent is someone who is always commenting on the latest developments in rap beef. Overall, he has been pretty vocal about what is going on between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Furthermore, he has had his fair share of rap beef over the years, so it should come as no surprise that he likes to discuss the interpersonal issues of others. Ever since the year started, there has been a whole lot of conflict in the world, and that is especially true in hip-hop. In fact, in the eyes of some, the Katt Williams interview with Shannon Sharpe created a true shift in the stars.

One feud that has been ongoing over the last few weeks has been between Quavo and Chris Brown. It seems as though they are mostly beefing over Saweetie. Overall, it is clear that they do not like each other, and they are making those feelings known. Numerous diss tracks have been dropped at this point, with Quavo delivering the most recent blow. On the song “Over Hoes & Bitches,” Quavo takes a look at Brown’s history of alleged domestic violence. Furthermore, he put some vocals from Takeoff on the song, for good measure.

With Donald Glover devoting much of his energy to acting in recent years, the future of his music as Childish Gambino has remained uncertain. There has been some clarity lately, though: Earlier this month, Glover broke down his plan for his final two albums as Childish Gambino. Now he has shared even more about what his upcoming Gambino goings-on will entail.

During a recent GILGA Radio broadcast, an advertisement-style announcement said, “Childish Gambino New World Tour this summer. Coming to an arena near you. Are you ready?” Glover later shared an Instagram post about it, featuring a simple graphic for The New World Tour and a link to a website, thenewworldtour.com. There, there’s an email sign-up form to be updated with more information when it becomes available.

So, to summarize: What we know about the tour right now is that it’s called The New World Tour, it will take place in arenas, and it’s set to kick off this summer. Dates and information about tickets have yet to be revealed.

Elsewhere during that same broadcast, Glover teased two new songs, one featuring Kanye West and the other featuring Kid Cudi. As NME notes, the Kudi collab is called “Warlords” and previously leaked in 2021.

Saweetie Puts Quavo On Blast With Embarrassing DM

Quavo is having a rough week. The Migos rapper had to stand by while Chris Brown dropped the diss track “Weakest Link” to positive reception from fans. He clapped back with “Over Hoes & B*tches” on April 22, but it did not get the same love as Breezy’s. Some felt Quavo relied too heavily on the feature from the late Takeoff, while others thought the rapper failed to dig up any real dirt on Brown. It gets worse. The same day “Over Hoes & B*tches” dropped, Saweetie hopped on X (formerly Twitter) to disprove one of Quavo’s claims.

Saweetie has become a central figure in the Quavo versus Brown feud. While Karreuche Tran was previously the focus, due to the fact that she dated both artists, Saweetie has been referenced in both “Weakest Link” and “Over Hoes & B*tches.” In the former, Brown claimed to have slept with the rapper while she was still dating Quavo. In the latter, Quavo claims he doesn’t care. “I can take a model b*tch and make a Saweetie, n**ga,” he raps, with the implication being that she’s replaceable. It’s a less than stellar bar, and one that Saweetie was more than happy to upend.

Saweetie Shared Instagram Receipts With Fans

The rapper posted a screenshot of her Instagram DMs, and one of the messages left on read was from none other than Quavo. The entirety of the message is unclear, but the first couple words read: “Damn. We used to mean af to each…” Saweetie posted a withering caption with the screenshot, making it clear that she meant more to Quavo than he’s letting on. “Hopefully the model he turns into me replies,” she wrote. Saweetie and Quavo dated for three years before breaking up in March 2021.

Saweetie talked about their relationship during an appearance on Caresha Please. She skirted around the question of whether or not Quavo cheated on her, and ultimately chalked their split up to differences. “I thought we was gonna spend the rest of our lives together,” she admitted. “With him, I knew it was the one. It was different.” Ironically, the two rappers first connected when Quavo DM’d Saweetie on IG in 2018, which means this new DM drama brings things full circle. Like they say: all’s fair in love and war.

Kanye West Dubs Chris Brown A “God” Amidst Quavo Feud

Kanye West is an unpredictable guy. Fans can never predict what he’s going to do or say next, and his recent appearance on The Download podcast was a startling reminder. He claimed he would have sex with Michelle Obama, called J. Cole a “p**sy” and vowed to ruin Drake’s career. He did, however, take some time out to discuss artists he was a fan of, and felt deserved their fame. One of these artists was Chris Brown. At a seemingly random interval in the interview, West asserted that Brown was a “god” in the music industry.

The topic came about when Kanye West talked about restrictions within the music industry. He theorized that truly great artists have had a harder time breaking through due to the machinations of “middle men.” He even referenced his own verse on the song “Carnival,” which name drops Brown. “I’m the new Jesus, bitch,” West rapped. “I turn water to Crist, this for what they did to Chris. They can’t do sh*t with this.” In the emcee’s estimation, Brown is one of the aforementioned “greats” that deserves to thrive. “Chris is a god,” he asserted.

Kanye West Has Praised Brown For Decades

This is not the first time Kanye West has spoken in Brown’s defense. He asked fans to forgive the R&B singer shortly after he was charged with assaulting Rihanna in 2009. “Can’t we give Chris a break?” he asked during his VH1 Storytellers performance. “I know I make mistakes in life.” West also gifted Brown with a YEEZY truck in 2020. The truck came with a written letter that read: “Congratulations to Chris, 20 years in the game you have overcome many hurdles and obstacles, you deserve the recognition for all the hard work you have put in.”

The affection Kanye West and Chris Brown have for another contrasts with some of their other high profile relationships. Both men are involved in feuds with other hip-hop superstars, and have dropped diss tracks in the last week. West released a remix of the Future and Metro Boomin smash single “Like That,” which took at Drake, while Brown bombed on Quavo with “Weakest Link.” Both disses were well received, with many feeling that Chris Brown delivered the decisive blow in the Quavo feud. The muted response to Quavo’s “Over Hoes & B*tches” all but solidified this theory. West, meanwhile, is still at war with the 6 God.

Quavo’s Latest Chris Brown Diss Gets Mixed Reaction From Fans

Quavo and Chris Brown are in full-on battle mode. Fans have gotten four diss tracks in the span of two weeks: the latter dropped “Freaky” and “Weakest Link,” while the former dropped “Tender” and “Over Hoes & B*tches.” “Weakest Link” was a devastating diss from Brown, with the R&B star taking aim at Quavo’s current romantic relationship. The bars were inconsistent, but Brown brought swagger and aggression to the table, and fans were impressed. The same can’t really be said for Quavo’s response. Credit to the rapper for getting a response out in three days, but fans aren’t thrilled by what they heard.

The biggest talking point with regards to “Over Hoes & B*tches” is Takeoff. The standout member of Migos (and Quavo’s late nephew) handles the chorus of the song, but some felt like his inclusion was distracting. Obviously, he’s not involved in the feud. It makes sense to include Takeoff on paper, given that Brown mentioned the Migos rapper on “Weakest Link,” but it didn’t really translate the way Quavo wanted. Brown certainly felt this way, as he took to Instagram to make fun of the diss. “Damn and I was excited,” he wrote. “That s**t don’t even need a response. Takeoff rap better.”

Quavo’s Diss Track Is Being Criticized

The fans who liked “Over Hoes & B*tches” complimented the flow and the production. Then there was the single artwork, which replaced a controversial photo of Brown choking a woman with Quavo choking Brown. What the song lacked for many, though, was energy. The Migos rapper goes after Brown’s drug use and bipolar disorder, but he doesn’t reveal anything fans didn’t already know.

“I’m still crying,” wrote one X user. “Quavo’s whole diss was cultivating sh**ty tweets & google searches against Chris Brown.” Another user blamed the people in the rapper’s inner circle. “Quavo doesn’t have any good friends,” they added. “Anyone who really liked him would have warned him that it was a bad idea to respond with this pathetic diss.”

The Alchemist & Oh No “Heads I Win, Tails You Lose” Review

The Alchemist and Oh No first teamed up as Gangrene in 2010, releasing their debut album, Gutter Water, that year. They established themselves as the ultimate duo. Both members excel within the underground scene with their unique approaches to lyricism and beat-making. As rappers and producers, their styles complement each other artistically. The Gangrene sound is defined by experimental production with busy instrumentation.

Alchemist and Oh No’s aggressive and jarringly violent bars reflect the organized chaos in the beats. Gangrene’s subsequent albums, 2012’s Vodka & Ayahuasca and 2015’s You Disgust Me, showed that no matter how much time had passed between albums and their countless solo ventures, they remained true to their sound. Heads I Win, Tails You Lose, their fourth full-length album and first in nine years, picks up right where they left off.

Gangrene’s Filthiest Album Yet

Heads I Win, Tails You Lose immediately places listeners into Gangrene’s mystical world of hard-hitting boom-bap loops. Its opening track, “Congratulations, You Lose,” begins with an ominous bassline and a thumping drum break. Setting the tone for the rest of the album, The Alchemist comes in with a menacing verse. He paints a vivid picture of “chewin a matchstick, I’ll spike the punch and send you on a bad trip.” Oh No matches the aggressive nature of Al’s bars in his verse, making for an exciting beginning of Gangrene’s reunion. The production on songs like “Oxnard Water Torture” and “The Gates of Hell” continues the album’s abrasive soundscape. The former’s screeching melody and off-kilter drums and the latter’s dissonant piano loop and jazzy percussion create an equally unsettling listening experience as it is intriguing.

Throughout its 39-minute run time, Heads I Win, Tails You Lose maintains its momentum. Its 13-song tracklist is quite consistent in its creative direction. The beats are bizarre and adventurous yet unmistakably traditional for The Alchemist and Oh No’s collaborative work. It might be a challenging listen compared to albums like Alfredo or A Long Red Hot Los Angeles Summer Night, but Gangrene is distinct from their other side projects because of its unconventional style.

Undeniable Chemistry

In addition to its cohesive tracklist, The Alchemist and Oh No continue their collaborative chemistry as both rappers and producers. Al handles the beats on eight songs, while Oh No produced the other five tracks. Both artists are versatile musicians, but the production blends together seamlessly as they stay true to their sound. As rappers, their chemistry is on full display. The Alchemist’s choppy flow and Oh No’s unpredictable rhyme patterns complete each other as they create new pockets within their own beats.

They rarely stray away from their signature flows, but the rapping is satisfying because they accompany each other so well. The features on Heads I Win, Tails You Lose also support their vocal and musical chemistry as Evidence, Boldly James, and ANKHLEJOHN specialize in this vein of underground hip hop. They also are known for sounding comfortable over production from The Alchemist and Oh No and when they rap alongside them. Evidence nonchalantly slides across the chill groove of “Magic Dust” while ANKHLEJOHN’s nasal vocal tone stands out on the minimal loop of “The Gates of Hell.” Additionally, Boldy James’s verse on the Alchemist-produced “Just Doing Art” aligns with the sounds of their three collaborative albums. Even with the guest verses, The Alchemist and Oh No do not rely on features. Their individual skill sets as rappers nearly outshine their own production.

The Progression Of The Alchemist & Oh No’s Everlasting Partnership

Nine years removed from their previous album, Heads I Win, Tails You Lose proves Gangrene to be reliable in delivering unorthodox beats and sharp rhymes. As a group, The Alchemist and Oh No may be predictable, but Gangrene remains unique in their sizable catalogs. The slow loops on their latest album are more subdued compared to that of Vodka & Ayahuasca and are more relaxed than You Disgust Me. Still, Heads I Win, Tails You Lose is Gangrene at their most refined, displaying each member’s artistic strengths. Between their solo ventures and countless collaborations, The Alchemist and Oh No always manage to tap into the sound they established long ago. Heads I Win, Tails You Lose assures that their everlasting partnership has not dwindled in the slightest.

Kanye West Dismisses Drake’s Music: “Your Raps Don’t Mean Sh*t”

Drake can’t catch a break. He was already forced to fend off attacks from some of the biggest names in hip-hop, and now he has contend with the rapper he’s cited as his biggest influence: Kanye West. Drake and West have had a notoriously fickle relationship over the years, but the latter has once again declared war on the 6 God. He released a remix to “Like That,” on The Download, and used the podcast platform to claim that Drake’s career is “artificial.” He didn’t say industry plant, but he definitely made it seem as though Drake’s success has been more calculated than fans have realized.

Kanye West felt “Push Ups” was a boring diss song. Despite being widely praised by fans and critics, West felt the diss lacked punch because of who Drake has become. “Every bar that Drake said means nothing anymore,” the rapper claimed “Drop and give me 50, ain’t nobody gonna drop and do sh*t. Your raps don’t mean sh*t.” West has been critical of Drake’s extreme popularity in the past. He famously ranted about the radio play that the DJ Khaled and Drake single “For Free” received during a 2016 concert. He got more specific about why he felt this way, however, during the Download interview.

Kanye West Felt Drake’s Diss Was “Artificial”

The “Carnival” rapper claimed that Drake is the beneficiary of the industry. “[It’s] a bunch of middle men controlling the market,” he said. “There are middle men saying ‘this what diamonds cost’. And everybody running around. Drake, all this sh*t is artificial.” West’s remarks about Drake’s bars should be taken with a grain of salt, though, given that Drake has been credited (and occasionally uncredited) as a writer on several of the rapper’s hits. Drake wrote the chorus to West’s 2018 song “Yikes,” but was not officially credited because West’s team claimed they “forgot.”

Regardless of their prior collabs, Kanye West wants Drake gone. “That’s why gods had to come,” he asserted. “Pack that boy up.” In a previous Download clip, West said that he was excited to team up with Future and Metro Boomin on what he called the “elimination” of Drake. In his estimation, ruining Drake’s career is a professional as well as personal goal. “I’m tired of this guy f**king with me, so the fact that all these is coming together,” he added. “We gon’ tear the head off whoever they thought was in control.” Time will tell if West and company succeed.

Chris Brown Roasts Quavo’s Diss Track: “Don’t Even Need A Response”

Rap beefs are moving at lightning speed these days. Chris Brown fired off the disrespectful “Weakest Link” on a Friday, then Quavo responded with “Over Hoes & B*tches,” on a Monday. Both disses were loaded with disrespectful bars about ex-girlfriends and past indiscretions, but the latter has gotten a mixed reception from fans. Some felt Quavo should have gone harder against Brown, and others felt it was gimmicky to include a verse from the late Takeoff. One of the most vocal critics, unsurprisingly, is Brown himself.

Chris Brown was so underwhelmed by Quavo’s “Over Hoes & B*tches” that he didn’t even respond on wax. Instead, he hopped on social media an hour after the song dropped and roasted it. “Google raps,” he wrote on his IG Story. “That s**t is pooooooop.” The facepalm and laughing emojis would have sent the message, but Breezy didn’t stop there. He actually voiced disappointment in Quavo, asserting that he was excited for a competitive rap feud. “Damn and I was excited,” he added. “That s**t don’t even need a response.” The R&B singer rubbed additional salt in the wound by referencing Takeoff (again).

Chris Brown Clowned Quavo’s “Google Raps”

Brown claimed that Quavo was the worst rapper in Migos, and that fans wished it was him who died instead of Takeoff. “R.I.P. Takeoff, he the only real one that got true respect,” Brown rapped on his diss track. “Crazy how when he died, everybody really wished it was you instead (Oh sh*t, brrah).” A cruel statement, for sure, but one the R&B singer was able to reiterate because of the late rapper’s inclusion on “Over Hoes & B*tches.” He ended his mocking IG post by writing: “Takeoff rap better.”

Quavo has been open about the difficulty he had getting over Takeoff’s death, and he even alluded to it in “Over Hoes & B*tches.” He doesn’t really take Brown to task over his bars, however. “I’m still f**ked up about Takeoff, I want who did it, n**ga (Uh),” he rapped. “But that’s some real street s**t, back to the industry (For real).” Brown’s social media trolling is only go agitate the situation further, but the future of the Brown and Quavo beef is currently unclear. The former claimed he doesn’t even need to put out a response, but it ultimately falls to the fans to determine who the winner is.
