Drake Allegations Were Predicted By Comedian Shane Gillis Five Years Ago

Drake has faced the wrath of Kendrick Lamar to the fullest degree as of late. Overall, fans could have never predicted the venom that Kendrick was going to come with. In fact, both artists have leveled some huge allegations against one another. For instance, Lamar has been accused of domestic violence. Meanwhile, Drizzy and his entire OVO crew have been accused of grooming young women. While fans are loving the beef right now, there is no denying that all of this is very dark and has real-life implications.

That being said, allegations against Drake pertaining to young women have circulated for years. There has been a pervasive narrative that the artist is around young women too much. People look at his texting habits with Billie Eilish and Millie Bobby Brown as proof. While these women have made it clear that they aren’t victims, fans still think it’s weird. Meanwhile, in a resurfaced podcast from 2019, comedian Shane Gillis predicted that Drake would be hit with these kinds of allegations.

Shane Gillis Speaks On Drake In 2019

The comedian notes that he actually likes Drake as an artist. However, at the time, he believed that in five years’ time, the artist would be hit with R. Kelly-like allegations. Interestingly enough, the five-year timeline was prophetic as we are now in 2024, and Kendrick has proven Gillis to be correct. Of course, it must be said that these claims against Drake are just allegations. Nothing has been proven, and fans should not jump to conclusions just because their favorite artists said something on a record.

Let us know what you think of the Drake and Kendrick Lamar feud, in the comments section down below. Do you believe that some of the allegations here are going way too far? Do you think that another track is coming from one of these artists? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. Joe Budden Suggests Drake’s Many Beefs With Others Are What Caused His Problems

Everyone who’s made it to the top has probably ruffled some feathers along the way, and also likely created a lot of undue jealousy within folks who were more resentful than secure. But according to Joe Budden and some other members of his podcast, Drake’s position in the Kendrick Lamar beef is one of his own doing. “The most important line in this battle starts to come true, which is ‘It’s not just me,’” he remarked on the newest episode of his show. “‘I’m what the culture [is] feeling.’ When you pair that to the weirdo chart activity, when you pair that to… Yo, dawg, when ‘Not Like [Us]’ dropped, I learned that Mustard had a problem with Drake. I start scratching my f***ing head. N***a, you got a beef with Mustard?

“It’s not a two-sided coin,” Joe Budden continued. “I’m saying that one person has offended about 100 people in the music industry, and you can hear it. Every step of the way in this battle, it comes up. Every step in the battle, he says something else that reminds me, ‘Oh, s**t, he got a beef with -– Oh, s**t, Ja Morant.’ N***a, Jack started tweeting! Jack! From Twitter! Start tweeting, it’s weird.

Joe Budden Theorizes On Why So Many People Are Not Supporting Drake Right Now

“Ice, I don’t care what you n***as say on some fanfare s**t,” Joe Budden went on. “If we were in real life, and this existed with somebody, how would we treat that person? That’s why I don’t care about the fans’ opinion about a beef. The industry is sending a clear-cut message that you have worn out your welcome. This is not a Kendrick, just West Coast thing. Yeah, Kendrick, they just went and tapped somebody on the shoulder, like, ‘Big dog, help. Help.’ Metro is on Twitter saying, ‘Aye, Drake, you know that I can’t say whatever our real problem is because both of us are going to look crazy.’ That mean that he’s told somebody whatever that real problem is, and it looks crazy.

“This is not just coincidentally, ‘We are all mad at Drake’s success, and we are acting out,’” he concluded. “This is bigger than that is all I’m saying. So for him to not recognize it, I agree with Emanny, it just boils down to the arrogance, I think. It says something that nobody outside of Birdman is saying something in support of Drake. It’s not up for question, I’m telling y’all something. I’m telling y’all factual music business s**t. It’s no longer just odd, it’s by design, it’s calculated.”

Drake Shares A Perfectly Biting TV Scene As An Apparent Response To Kendrick Lamar’s Diss Tracks

Drake has been dealing with a lot lately, whether it’s the break-in attempt at his home, the shooting near his home, or the ongoing Kendrick Lamar beef. Early this morning (May 9), Drake seemingly took a minute to address the latter situation.

On his Instagram Story, Drake posted the opening scene from the Netflix show A Man In Full, in which Jeff Daniels’ character Charlie Croker is lying dead on the floor. He says in a voiceover, “I don’t mean this as a criticism. Maybe I do. But when you die, will people notice? When I go, there are gonna a lot of memories of me by a lot of people, many who hate me. Even so, a person needs to live with vigor. Otherwise, what’s the point?”

Meanwhile, Seth Rogen recently shared his thoughts about the beef situation, and how something so personal is playing out in such a public way. On stage at his Seth Smokes The Bowl event, Rogen said, “What’s crazy is these are not, like, personal correspondences: These are songs! These are hit songs! These are No. 1 and 2 on iTunes, like, right now! These are songs the Apple algorithm is telling my mother to listen to while working out.”

Drake Seemingly Takes Shot At Kendrick Lamar With Cryptic Instagram Story

Drake and Kendrick Lamar are currently in the midst of one of the most shocking rap beefs we have seen in quite some time. Overall, the feud started with some light jabs. However, things have devolved past the point of reconciliation. In fact, it is pretty clear that these two will never be cool. After all, one man is accusing the other of being a pedophile, while the other is making domestic violence accusations. Needless to say, the hate for one another is very real, and there is a real possibility that more songs are released.

For the last couple of days, Drake has been dealing with some scary situations at his home. On Tuesday, a security guard was shot outside of his home. Subsequently, a trespasser was arrested on Wednesday after trying to get onto the premises. Throughout all of this, Drake has remained calm and seems to be spending time in his home theater. In a video posted to his Instagram story, Drake showcased a scene from the show “A Man In Full.” The scene depicts the main character lying dead on the floor, with a voice-over offering up a message that one could interpret as near and dear to Drake’s heart right now.

Drake Resonates With “A Man In Full”

“I don’t mean this as a criticism,” the monologue begins. “Maybe I do. But when you die, will people notice? When I go, there are gonna a lot of memories of me by a lot of people, many who hate me. Even so, a person needs to live with vigor. Otherwise, what’s the point?” Whether or not this means another diss track is coming, remains to be seen. Either way, this is a tumultuous time for Drake and his OVO crew.

Rick Ross Performs In Front Of Tiny Crowd In Now-Viral Video Amid Drake Beef

Rick Ross is currently in the thick of the feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake. Overall, the Ross stuff has felt like a side quest in all of this. After “Push Ups” was released, we ended up getting “Champagne Moments” from Ross. The song was dropped very soon after, and it proved to be a hilarious footnote in all of this. Subsequently, Ross became the main man on the scene every single time Kendrick dropped a diss track of his own. From “Euphoria” to “Not Like Us,” Ross has been on the frontlines showing the people the impact of these tracks.

However, with Ross looking to step all over Drake, the latter’s fans have been finding all sorts of videos that aren’t the best look for Ross. For instance, below, you can find a video of Ross performing in front of a very tiny crowd. This video has been going viral since Wednesday, and fans are curious as to the context. It is unknown whether or not this is an old video or if it is from a recent performance. Either way, this doesn’t speak well to Ross’ popularity, which is always a huge component of rap beef.

Rick Ross Vs. Drake Inspires Pettiness

Despite this, fans still believe Drake is losing the overall war right now. “The Heart Part 6” was a disappointing response from Drake, especially since there were some downright baffling bars throughout. Now, it remains to be seen if either artist will continue to drop tracks. When it comes to Kendrick, they just want him to address the domestic violence allegations.

Let us know what you think of this clip of Rick Ross, in the comments section down below. Do you believe that the fans are going too far with this feud? Jack Dorsey Confirms He’s Team Kendrick Lamar Amidst Drake Battle

Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar is the biggest rap battle of all time. Fans can argue for 2Pac vs. Biggie, or Jay vs. Nas, but the impact this current battle has had on popular culture is unprecedented. Those previous examples were relegated to fans of hip-hop, or fans of music at best. Now, celebrities are lining up to discuss which rapper they prefer. Jack Dorsey, the founder of Twitter, is no exception. The entrepreneur has been keeping tabs on the high-profile battle, and it appears as though he’s coming out as a Kendrick Lamar supporter.

There’s actually multiple pieces of evidence to support this claim. For one, the Twitter specialist dug back into Lamar’s account to find a tweet from 2011. The tweet was in reference to a concert the rapper was performing at. “June 16th,” he wrote. “Toronto. Grab tix here.” The concert was from Drake’s Club Paradise tour, in which Lamar was booked as one of the openers. It’s a throwback to a simpler time for both artists, and in some ways, the starting point for their dissent. Dorsey reposted Lamar’s tweet with a single heart emoji on May 3.

Jack Dorsey Has Been Reposting K. Dot Content On X

Fans were puzzled by this, as it was unclear whether Dorsey was co-signing Lamar over the 6 God, reminding fans that Drake helped Lamar break through, or evoking a period in which the rappers were getting along. The lack of clarification didn’t help. Dorsey provided followers with an answer over the next couple days, however.

He reposted a video of Lamar and Jay Rock performing the 2012 song “Money Trees” at a Best Buy. The video was accompanied by a caption commending Lamar for working hard to improve his performing skills. Then, on May 8, Dorsey posted a link to Lamar’s music video for “Rich Spirit.” The caption he wrote next to the link read: “turn him to a song.”

“Rich Spirit” was originally released in 2022. The song sees him navigate the pressure of celebrity, as well as the criticisms that fans had for him in the years leading up to Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers. It doesn’t hurt that Dorsey has a personal connection to the album. The entrepreneur made a cameo in the rapper’s music video for another Mr. Morale deep cut, “Count Me Out.”

ASAP Rocky Reunites With ASAP Ferg To Preview New Music

The ASAP Mob would not have blown up without ASAP Rocky and ASAP Ferg. The former was the pop star who crossed over and eventually started a family with Rihanna. The latter was the eccentric rapper who embodied the crew’s singular aesthetic. They dominated the 2010s with classic singles like “Work” and “Shabba.” The 2020s, however, has been a different story. Rocky and Ferg have embarked on two different paths. Thankfully, all that is about to change. ASAP Mob’s two biggest members are back in the studio.

On May 8, ASAP Rocky got on Instagram Live to tease new music. The rapper has been hyping up his comeback album, Don’t Be Dumb, as a star-studded event, but what fans didn’t know is what Ferg was going along for the ride. Metaphorically and literally, in the case of Rocky’s Instagram. The two rappers can be seen sitting in a car and playing music that they just recorded. Ferg’s verse dominates what we hear of the unreleased song, but both men can be seen bobbing their heads. The production evokes a classic ASAP Mob sound, with frenetic drums and massive bass hits.

ASAP Rocky And Ferg Listened To New Music In The Car

This is cause for celebration for anyone who grew up listening to both rappers. ASAP Rocky hasn’t put out an album since 2018, and Ferg’s relationship with the rest of ASAP Mob has been strained since he was reportedly kicked out of the group in 2020. Ferg detailed his issues with the group in the song “Big ASAP.” (ASAP Nast invited Ferg back to the group months later, but it’s unclear if he accepted the invite). Rocky and Ferg, meanwhile, haven’t been on a song together since “Pups” in 2019.

ASAP Rocky spoke on his relationship with Ferg during a 2020 episode of Drink Champs. He assured fans that things were good between them, even if they weren’t collaborating as often as they used to. “Everything’s lovely, man,” he asserted. “We all blessed to be here. Everybody doing they thing and everybody’s eclectically kind of like progressively being creative, doing they own thing… The hardest thing to do is to keep a group together and sh*t like that. That’s the hardest thing, bro.” It looks all the drama has been worked on, and fans will getting the music they’ve craved for so long.

Papoose Explains Why Rap Lyrics Shouldn’t Be Used In Court

The debate as to whether rap lyrics should be admissible in criminal trials has gone on for decades. There have been strong points made for both sides. The problem is, the specificity of each case has made it difficult for the legal system to hammer down an exact definition on when or when it isn’t ok to use them. Papoose is the latest rapper to weight in on this topic. He hit some of the same points that his predecessors did, but he also made some excellent observations of his own.

Papoose attended a meeting with New York politicians on May 7. The rapper lobbied for the AB127 bill, which limits the “admissibility of evidence of a defendant’s creative or artistic expression against such defendant in a criminal proceeding.” Papoose made an impassioned case for the bill in front of these politicians. The most compelling point was that the rapper wanted to shift the burden of proof to the prosecutor, rather than the defendant to deny. He detailed his perspective in an Instagram post.

Papoose Feels Burden Of Proof Should Be On Prosecutors

“[We seek] to establish a systematic framework for the handling of lyrics in legal proceedings,” he wrote in the caption. “It does not ban the usage of creative work in criminal proceedings; instead, it shifts the burden to the prosecutor who must prove the work is relevant and admissible.” Papoose went on to say that the practice of using lyrics as evidence applies primarily to hip-hop. He makes note of this in his post, citing legal scholars.

“Researchers and legal scholars have seen this practice apply, almost exclusively, to hip hop and rap,” the rapper added. “While the legislation is not genre specific, it is impossible to ignore the detrimental impact the existing practice has had on certain Black and Brown artists practicing their craft.” Papoose’s passion for a fair trial makes sense given his own legal experience.

The rapper was in a relationship with Terror Squad member Remy Ma while she was serving time in prison. The two exchanged wedding vows over the phone in 2008. Remy was found guilty of a shooting she claimed was an accident, and was eventually released in 2014. Papoose and Remy Ma currently live in New York with their four children.

Ja Rule And Jay-Z Collaborated On Mother’s Day Event In NYC

Ja Rule and Jay-Z are industry legends. The former has, admittedly, had more business drama over the last decade that Hova. Remember Fyre Fest? We digress. The rapper’s decision to link up with Jay-Z’s REFORM Alliance is an inspired one, especially given the cause that both men decided to support. Jay and Ja combined their efforts to put on a Mother’s Day luncheon for moms who also happen to be ex-cons. The luncheon was held Tuesday, May 7, in New York City.

Ja Rule took lead on the event. He gathered an estimated 40 different women to come and reflect on how their time behind bars affected their approach to motherhood. The rapper discussed his reasoning for putting the Mother’s Day luncheon with Billboard. He freely admitted that him and his mother had a difficult time paying rent when he was younger, and recalls feeling helpless as a result. “When we were going through an eviction at one of our apartments, this particular time it kind of broke my mom the way I never seen before, and she was crying,” he recalled. “In that moment, I feel like I became a man because I understood the assignment, as they say.”

This is a far cry from the Ja Rule who attacked Eminem’s mother on the diss song “Loose Change.” Ja went at Slim Shady during his prime in the 2000s, and dropped what remains one of the cruelest bars ever written. “Em, you claim your mother’s a crackhead and Kim is a known slut,” he spit. “So what’s Hailie gon’ be when she grows up?”. It’s no wonder things remain frigid between Ja and Eminem to this day. The New York rapper has a better relationship with Jay-Z, despite also having tension with him back in the day.

Ja Rule was actually supposed to be part of a supergroup with Hov and DMX in the 1990s. An album never materialized, however, as all three rappers would go on beef with one another. “We knew what was going on, but it was kind of like pulling teeth to get it done,” he told HipHopDX. “Jay and X, you couldn’t get them in the same room together… I’d known them before they were who they were.” Ja and Jay are committed to making a positive change in the present, and they’re seemingly doing a good job.
