While adjusting to motherhood is tough enough as it is, being in the spotlight means that Bhad Bhabie has also been under intense scrutiny for her decision to have a child. Recent headlines certainly haven’t helped, as it was reported today that the rapper and internet icon was detained by police in Woodland Hills, CA earlier this week.
Reportedly, she was followed by officials before stopping at a gas station and was confronted when she pulled in. Luckily, she didn’t actually do anything wrong, and the mix-up was a simple case of mistaken identity. Reportedly, her Mercedes matched the description of another vehicle driven by a nearby burglary suspect. A clip obtained by TMZ shows Bhad Bhabie standing next to a cop car and chatting with several officers outside of the gas station.
Following a short investigation, Bhad Bhabie and Le Vaughn were free to go. Unfortunately, the whole situation left the new mother a bit stressed out, and fans can’t blame her. “Yesterday we got pulled over by LAPD,” she revealed in a post on her Instagram Story today. “They eventually released us and explained they were looking for a similar vehicle that matched the description of a car involved in criminal activity. We are okay but a bit shaken up. Luckily my daughter was not in the vehicle at the time.”

Rihanna says she wants Taylor Russell to play her in a biopic about her career if one ever gets made. She explained why she’d go with the Bones and All star while speaking with E! News on the red carpet at the launch of Fenty Hair on Monday.
“You know why? Because she’s got, like, a nice forehead,” Rihanna explained. “She’s, like, fly. And I feel like I want to be her, so I want her to pretend to be me. I want people to see me in that light.” In addition to Bones and All, Russell starred in A24’s Waves.

Despite the comments, as well as wearing an “I’m retired” shirt last week, Rihanna says she’s still working on new music. She also clarified during the event: “That was just me looking into the future. I’m not retired. I just like that dress. I got it as a gift and I loved it. They didn’t read the second line, I’m not retired, I’m just retired from dressing up — it’s a lot of effort.” She further explained that the delay stems from her starting from scratch. “Yeah, I’m starting over,” she admitted to Entertainment Tonight. “But I don’t want to neglect the songs that I have, so I actually want to go back and listen to stuff with new ears, with my new perspective and then see what applies and what I’m still in love with.” She hasn’t released an album since 2016’s Anti. Kanye West found himself in the news for negative reasons after singer-songwriter Niykee Heaton accused him and Diddy of sexually assaulting her and her former manager, Lauren Pisciotta. Niykee’s allegations came days after Lauren, Kanye’s former assistant, filed a lawsuit against him. In Lauren’s lawsuit, she accused Kanye of sexual harassment, contract breach, and wrongful termination. Lauren claimed Kanye sent her lewd texts and masturbated while speaking to her on the phone. She also accused the rapper of pleasuring himself in front of her after trapping her in a private room on his plane.
However, Kanye countersued Lauren. In his suit, the rapper denied her allegations against him, tagging them as “baseless” and backed by ulterior motives. Kanye’s legal representative accused Lauren of “blackmail and extortion” after he allegedly turned down her sexual advances. Days after the countersuit, Lauren’s former associate and singer, Niykee, went on Instagram Live to make startling allegations against Kanye and Diddy. Niykee is a singer-songwriter who found fame after being discovered via her YouTube channel, where she posted acoustic guitar covers of notable hip-hop songs. She released her debut single, “Bad Intentions,” in 2014. The song made it to the Billboard charts and was certified gold by the RIAA. She also has an EPtitled Bad Intentions and a mixtape, The Bedroom Tour Playlist, which she released in 2016, a year after going on The Bedroom Tour. In 2018, she released another EP titled Starting Over.
During her Instagram Live, Niykee claimed Lauren Pisciotta was her manager. She said they fell out because they were in two different places. Niykee explained that she almost lost her love for music after her negative experiences. However, Lauren was more into the business side of music and kept going until she realized some things for herself.
Why Did Niykee Come Forward With Her Allegations Now?
Niykee revealed she didn’t want to tell her story before because she felt no one would believe her. However, recent happenings in the industry pushed her to speak out. Niykee also said that after Lauren’s lawsuit against Kanye West, many people said she was lying. Those comments angered Niykee, spurring her to come forward with her story.
Niykee explained that people asked her why she left the music industry and if it was as evil as they say. She expressed, “It is more evil than you can possibly imagine.” The singer added, “I’m one of the lucky ones. I got out when I could.” Niykee further said she was lucky enough to only be allegedly assaulted twice. She explained that she experienced more assaults, but only two of those incidents impacted her. One of the incidents allegedly involved her and Lauren. She claimed that after becoming popular at 18, many rappers reached out to her. One of those rappers was said to be Kanye.
One late night, Niykee, then 19 years old, and Lauren allegedly got a call saying Kanye wanted them to come to the studio to work on music. When they got to the studio, they purportedly met Kanye, Diddy, and three other men: Kanye’s cousin, an executive who worked with the rapper, and his sound engineer. She said there were also nine other women there, who she described as “studio hoes.” Niykee said she felt uneasy because she wasn’t expecting to see those women. She also claimed Diddy and Kanye were “drunk and out of their minds.” Afterward, Diddy allegedly handed her a drink while Kanye did the same to Lauren. Although Niykee didn’t like alcohol, she accepted the drink to avoid being rude.
Niykee’s Allegations Against Kanye & Diddy
Niykee claimed Diddy kept staring at her while Kanye stared at Lauren. According to her, the rappers exchanged glances and were keen on them drinking. Hence, she felt uneasy, believed something was in the drink, and pretended to sip it. She tried to text Lauren about her suspicions, but Kanye took the phone away from her and placed it on a speaker. Afterward, Niykee saw Lauren sip from the drink twice. Not long after, Lauren started speaking loudly, making jokes, and acting unlike herself, which made Niykee suspect the drinks were allegedly laced. Suddenly, Lauren dismissed the other girls in the studio, leaving her, Niykee, with Diddy, Kanye, and the three other men.
Later, Lauren apparently left the studio to go to the bathroom despite Niykee’s efforts to stop her. Niykee remained calm, but Diddy and Kanye allegedly approached her and asked her to remove her clothes since the studio was hot, but she playfully declined. She claimed, “They were like, ‘C’mon, it’s just us. We are all just friends. Like let us just like see like how you look.” She still refused their advances. However, Kanye and Diddy allegedly ripped her shirt off. At this point, she looked to her left, where Kanye’s executive stood three meters away and mouthed, “Help.” However, he looked away. Next, she looked at Kanye’s engineer, who was married and had just welcomed a baby girl. Yet, she accused him of looking at his phone and started texting. She also said she looked at Kanye’s cousin, but he spun his chair around. Hence, she knew no one was coming to save her and became very afraid.
Niykee claimed Kanye and Diddy were now trying to get her pants off. She said she closed her eyes briefly and prayed to God for help. Then, she alleged a voice came to her head and asked her to go towards the rappers, which she did. This threw them off balance, allowing her to reach behind her back and pull the exit door. She said she managed to slip out and grabbed her clothes as she did.
Niykee said she ran out and hid in an empty studio for about 25 minutes, crying and wondering what to do. She texted Lauren but didn’t get any response. She claimed she saw Kanye assaulting Lauren, which is why she was named in the latter’s lawsuit. Eventually, she further alleged she managed to get herself and Lauren, who couldn’t remember anything, an Uber that took them home. Niykee concluded by advising people to stay away from the industry, claiming that more people would come forward with their experiences.
Rick Ross’ history as a correctional officer is certainly no secret. Unsurprisingly, it’s been a go-to jab for those he’s previously feuded with, including 50 Cent, Drake, The Game, and more. Many have found it odd that he collaborates with other artists with crime-filled pasts despite this, though he tends to brush it off when asked about it. According to him, he only did it for around four months before getting let go for being late for work too often.
Working for authorities isn’t the only skeleton in Ross’ closet either, or so it seems. Recently, Joe Rogan sat down with former drug kingpin “Freeway” Rick Ross, who’s known for his LA-based crack-cocaine empire. During the interview, he shared his take on having his name used by the rapper, who was born William Leonard Roberts II. He claims that on top of never being asked for permission, Ross has never even admitted to taking the name from someone else.
When asked whether or not anyone’s ever confronted Ross about this, Freeway said that he hasn’t seen it firsthand. Moreover, he claims that Ross avoids him anytime he comes around. “Anytime I’m around he disappears,” he explained. Freeway went on to argue that since Rick Ross has money, people are willing to overlook his allegedly stolen name. “It’s cr*zy,” he added. “How would you take my name and not have the decency to ask me? First of all, you should have asked, but then never pay homage? He won’t even admit that he stole the name. He tells people that he invented the name… Like, how the f*ck do you invent this name?”

We are just weeks away from Camila Cabello‘s fourth album, C,XOXO. Ahead of the album, Cabello has teased a new sound. She has released the Playboi Carti collab “I Luv It,” as well as the Lil Nas X-assisted “He Knows.” As the tracks indicate, Cabello is playing with more rhythmic, electronic, and dance-ready sounds.
C,XOXO is probably her most collab-heavy album, as revealed by the tracklist, which Cabello shared to social media today (June 12). In addition to the previously released Carti and Lil Nas X collabs, Drake will feature on the song “Hot Uptown” and the follow-up interlude, “Uuugly.” Fellow Miami natives JT and Yung Miami will also appear on the album, in the song “Dade County Dreaming.” It is worth noting that the once City Girls are listed simply as JT and Yung Miami on the tracklist, indicating that this could possibly be their last feature as a duo.

Ariana Grande says she and other former Nickelodeon child stars are currently “reprocessing” their relationship with the network following the allegations against Dan Schneider and the release of Quiet on Set. Grande discussed the situation as well as her experiences working on Victorious and Sam & Cat during an appearance on Podcrushed published on Wednesday.
“We feel so privileged to have been able to create those roles and be a part of something that was so special for a lot of young kids,” she said.”I think we’re reprocessing our relationship to it a little bit now.” She added: “I think that the environment needs to be made safer if kids are going to be acting. I think there should be therapists, I think there should be parents allowed to be wherever they want to be.”

Quiet on Set featured allegations of inappropriate behavior and a toxic environment during Nickelodeon’s prime in the 1990s and 2000s. It’s hard to think of anybody who has had a worse 2023 than Diddy so far. It began last year for the rap mogul when he was sued by Cassie over allegations that he was physically abusive to her during their relationship. That turned out to be just the beginning of the legal trouble he would face though. Numerous more lawsuits emerged in the following months, none more evocative the Lil Rod’s. That suit brought in numerous other figures like Yung Miami and Meek Mill. It made some increasingly wild claims that left even Diddy’s haters wondering if Rod was telling the truth.
Then it escalated to much more serious legal trouble in March when the federal government raided two of the rap mogul’s properties in Los Angeles and Miami. They later revealed that the raids were a part of an investigation into allegations of sex trafficking. With the investigation presumed to be still ongoing it’s not surprising that he’s kept a pretty low profile. One place the label-head did pop up is in an apology video. He felt compelled to make one when footage of him allegedly assaulting Cassie captured through a hotel security camera was leaked by CNN. Newly shared video from TMZ shows Diddy back in Cali. In the particular clip he’s simply minding his business on the sidewalk in West Hollywood. They note that he’s talking to somebody, though who they aren’t can’t specifically be identified. They also note that he waves at fans and seems to have a generally happy demeanor despite his current circumstances.

Hunxho first rose to prominence in 2021 by releasing tracks such as “Let’s Get It.” Since then, the young up-and-comer has been steadily dropping albums, mixtapes, and singles to further his buzz. His latest effort, Before the Album, serves as a brief EP to tide over his fans until his next full-length project. This brief release touts nine tracks that play out over the course of 23 minutes, offering some deep insight into the state of Hunxo’s current musical trajectory. Let’s examine the tracklist and material and see what the Atlanta native has in store.
The Project Has Some Serious Vocal Mixing Issues
Despite Hunxho’s talented lyric-writing abilities, Before the Album is a tough listen. The beats range from solid to exceptional, the lyrics are intriguing and autobiographical, and the pacing is varied, but every single track on this project is mixed with a billion layers of poorly-mixed autotune, buried under a mountain of reverb. As a result, Before the Album sounds like it’s being played from an iPhone speaker on the other side of an empty gymnasium, even when listening with high-quality speakers.
This vocal mixing is evident across every track and is most jarring on the intro record “Ups & Downs.” If you can get past the thick layer of unlistenable autotune, the song delivers on its title by examining some of the major highs and lows that Hunxho has experienced in recent years. This includes crashing out in his romantic relationships, losing friends to street violence, and struggling to feed his kids while his rap career hits monumental highs.
Hunxho Gets Introspective
Once you get past the massive barrier of entry, which is atrocious vocal engineering, Hunxho gets pretty deep into Before the Album. Tracks such as “Do This For Me” offer a man-in-the-mirror moment, with the Atlanta rapper examining his own actions and the trauma he has experienced while meditating on forgiveness and the prospect of healing. Likewise, “Can’t Fall Off” sees Hunxo pondering on his contemporaries who lack his hustling mindset while arguing that falling off musically would be akin to taking food off his children’s plates. The spacey, soul-chopped instrumental on “Can’t Fall Off” is the best on the project.
“Y’all Get It” should be an emotional high point for the EP, as Hunxho croons about losing his loved ones, missing his children, and experiencing feelings of loneliness. Unfortunately, the track opens with some Kid Cudi-inspired humming that sounds positively comical under the layers of grating autotune. It feels disrespectful to catch your breath from laughter while Hunxho waxes poetic about his friends dying in the streets, but that’s the cost of admission on a song mixed this poorly.
Some Songs Manage To Rise Above The Mix
Foul mixing positively ruins a few records on Before the Album, while others just barely manage to overcome this significant obstacle. “Closer To Over” is handily the best-mixed track on the entire project, which makes sense as it’s far and away the most popular song present. The Genius lyric page counts over 20K pageviews for this track alone, proving that Hunxho’s fans are tuning in far and wide. The song is an anthem about betrayal and taking the high road, and it shows Hunxho refusing to backstab people even after they show their true colors. A few well-placed glockenspiel bells and bumping bass notes make this track an easy winner. The song almost sounds like it could score a scene from a mob movie.
“How It Feel” is another highlight, which contains an ultra-hard gospel sample that bolsters the themes of counting your blessings and following your grind. Still, the structure of this track is incredibly bizarre, as it touts a single incredibly short verse sandwiched between an extra-long hook. It’s a bite-sized joint, but it’s effective in delivering its message. The final track, aptly titled “Last Song,” touts some emotional piano melodies, which give way to bars about Hunxho’s growth and accomplishments. The song is a brief one-verse with no chorus, a track that leaves fans wanting more, and it has us primed for the upcoming album.
Not to harp too much on this point, but Hunxho desperately needs to fire his engineer on his next project. Beyond that, the fans will surely look forward to the record that follows Before the Album.
Yung Miami is known for her upbeat, outspoken demeanor, but that doesn’t mean the City Girls star hasn’t experienced a great deal of hardship. Back in 2020, the father of her first child, Jai Wiggins, passed away as a result of a shooting. In the past, she’s admitted to feeling as though she never got the opportunity to properly mourn the loss due to her busy career. Now, however, she’s looking back on his life in honor of the fourth anniversary of his death.
She took to her Instagram Story today to share some photos of her late ex posing alongside her son. “4 yrs wow,” she wrote, adding a series of crying and broken-hearted emojis. She also shared a heartfelt Tweet about the anniversary, looking back on the tragic events that took place just before her son turned seven.
“It’s been 4 yrs since my bd passed he died 2 weeks before my son 7th birthday my son turning 11 in 2 weeks ahhhhh,” she wrote. “I’m trying not to cry today but the rain is not making it no better.” Of course, countless fans are empathizing with the femcee as she reflects on the heartbreaking loss, and sending their condolences. This isn’t the first time supporters have seen Yung Miami express sadness over Jai’s passing, however.
In 2022, she shared an emotional post about his death, praising him for being a wonderful father to their son. “You & Jai is peanut butter & jelly always together one thing about you, you don’t play about your son! So humble, quiet & uplifting. I hate this happen to you Jai you didn’t deserve this! Jai need you,” she shared. One of the true Golden Age’s of hip-hop has to be the 90s. There were so many iconic and influential records that dropped during that decade. One of them that came out toward the latter half of those 10 years that turned out to be ahead of its time was “Back That Azz Up” by Juvenile. The 400 Degreezcut, contrary to popular belief, was not as well received as you might think. Those were the paraphrased words of the song’s producer, Mannie Fresh. But as Mannie also said, “Fast forward 20 years later it’s stood the test of time”.
Those words could not be truer, as the song is now 25 years old exactly, and it still revered and played at functions and by hip-hop fans across the globe. Because of the importance of the song and it essentially kickstarting the New Orleans bounce sound, it is getting its own day. According to HipHopDX, Mayor LaToya Cantrell made it official this week that June 11 will be “Back That Azz Up Day”. Juvenile shared his excitement for this incredible honor on his Instagram page, while holding the framed document.
“Check me out, man. The mayor done made it official. On this day 25 years ago, I released a song called ‘Back That Azz Up’. Today is officially ‘Back That Azz Up Day. I need everybody to celebrate today by backing that azz up.. Y’all come lay it down with your boy, Juvie”. Mannie Fresh also expressed his gratitude toward Mayor LaToya Cantrell, saying, “@juviethegreat @liltunechi @cashmoneyofficial and myself are appreciative of this moment in music history …THE GREATEST LOVE SONG EVER WRITTEN Thank you to @mayorcantrell and @cityofnola.” This news comes at the perfect time, as Juvenile is also going on a behemoth of tour to help further commemorate the track. The Back That Azz Up 25th Anniversary Tour will kick off on July 7 and run through December 31. That equates to 65 stops and it should be one heck of a party.
