Kendrick Lamar Previews New Song In Beginning Of “Not Like Us” Music Video

Kendrick Lamar has once again set the music world on fire. Today he finally released the highly-anticipated “Not Like Us” music video. While there are plenty of obvious, and not-so-obvious Easter eggs hidden throughout the video, one of the undeniable ones comes at the very beginning. In fact, he gives listeners a taste of an unreleased track, and teases new music within the first 20 seconds of the video. Audiences couldn’t be happier to hear that he does in fact, have new music coming.

The music video opens with Lamar’s trademark introspection. The beat is backed by the unmistakable sound of Mustard, who has become synonymous with the West Coast sound. Within the opening of the visual, there’s a still shot of the Compton Courthouse. Then, we see a black-and-white flashing visual of Kendrick in a hallway, followed by him rapping the lyrics: “I am reincarnated, I was stargazing/Life goes on, I need all my babies. Woke up looking for the broccoli/Hot key, keep a horn on me, that kamasi/IP ownership, the blue print is by me/Mister get-off, I get off at my feet.”

Druski said he warned everyone about Canadians. After reports of a violent altercation between Rick Ross and his crew and purported Drake associates over the weekend, everyone raised their eyebrows. The occurrence happened at the Ignite Music Festival in Vancouver, and the news spread like wildfire. Fueled by viral video footage capturing the intense brawl. As tensions increased, multiple video clips emerged which showed a heated exchange that escalated into a physical altercation between Ross’s entourage and the alleged Drake affiliates. The chaotic scene unfolded abruptly, capturing moments of confrontation and physical altercation, showcasing the raw intensity of the incident.

The belief is that the DJ at the event played Kendrick Lamar’s Drake diss track “Not Like Us,” which caused tensions to rise. It’s been a couple days now and things seemed to have cooled down. However, amidst the aftermath, TMZ seized the opportunity to inquire about the incident while running into Druski and DJ Drama at the airport. Druski made a quick and candid comment when asked about the incident.

Young Thug & YSL RICO Trial: Lawyer At Judge’s Ex-Parte Meeting Finally Divulges On It

If you’ve been following the Young Thug and YSL RICO trial, you know that things are currently on hold due to Judge Ural Glanville’s ex-parte meeting with a witness (YSL Woody), Woody’s lawyer Kayla Bumpus, a court reporter, prosecutor Simone Hilton, and another prosecutor. For those unaware, an ex-parte meeting refers to a motion, hearing, or order requested by, and granted to, a single party in a court case. Specifically, Thugger’s lawyer Brian Steel asked for the recusal of Judge Glanville on the notion that this meeting violated various rules in the trial, including witness collusion for the benefit of the state.

“The problem with the meeting is not what was discussed,” Bumpus told The Shade Room‘s Justin Carter of this meeting in the Young Thug trial. “It’s that Mr. Copeland [YSL Woody] was already a sworn witness. So defense council should have at least known about the meeting. I did not tell Attorney Steel [about the meeting]. I do not know who told Attorney Steel. But once they told him, he came and questioned me and I then did give him a rundown of what happened in the meeting.”

Furthermore, Bumpus was allegedly filling in for a colleague in the Young Thug trial, and specifically for his ex-parte meeting. At press time, the court must wait for another judge to rule on the recusal motion and determine what will become of this YSL case. “We don’t want you in custody,” one of the prosecutors reportedly told YSL Woody. “I can’t say that any other different way, but we don’t want you in custody. The only thing that’s holding you is refusing to testify.”

YSL Woody had attempted to invoke his Fifth Amendment rights on the stand when he responded to a question about how old he was. Also, he tried to refuse immunity and be a state witness, but he ended up cooperating. In addition, Bumpus claimed that, while she didn’t tell Young Thug’s lawyer about the meeting, she did reveal more info about it once he asked. We’ll see whether these extra details and deliberations shift the tide of the case, or if things will go back to our regularly scheduled (and chaotic) court program.

Future and Metro Boomin have canceled a couple of dates for their upcoming tour, namely shows in Milwaukee, Nashville, Columbus, New Orleans, and Tulsa on August 2, 6, 10, 20, and 25 respectively. As such, many fans are speculating on what could’ve prompted this decision, with low ticket sales in these cities being an easy theory to attach to. However, it’s unclear whether this actually contributes to the decision, as all these mentioned concerts already sold about half of their available tickets. Still, there’s not really much of another reason as to why this could happen at press time, so we’ll see if either artist ever addresses it in the future.

Actually, both Future and Metro Boomin have a lot to clear up and speak on these days, whether it be for the beef-sparking music they dropped this year or their personal moves. Moreover, in the producer’s case, he recently scared fans by suggesting that his next album will be the last project he releases on streaming services. We all know how contentious the debate between DSPs and the music industry’s artists has been for about a decade now concerning proper payment and support. Will all or any of these come out eventually, or will they eventually fall under the the weight of platforms like Spotify and Apple Music? We’ll have to wait and see.

Meanwhile, as for the Atlanta trap pioneer, Future is working on a new mixtape as well, so there should be even more heat from him sooner rather than later.
