“Sitting Up In My Room (Remix)” fuses Brandy’s signature R&B vocals with LL Cool J’s charismatic rap style. The 1996 song rode off the success of the original, Grammy-nominated track, which was nominated for a Grammy. The original version also peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and ended up earning a platinum certification. Moreover, “Sittin’ Up In My Room (Remix)” marked one of Brandy’s first collaborations with hip-hop. Released months after the original, the track also sported a sample of Patrice Rushen’s single, “Haven’t You Heard.” While the remix didn’t turn out as popular as the original version, it became an early testament to Brandy’s versatility as a musician. 

6. “Where You Wanna Be” Ft. T.I. 

“Where You Wanna Be” is an emotional track exploring a romantic relationship where a woman is giving a man an ultimatum. The track is a cry for reassurance from a romantic partner. “Ladies, raise your hand if you’ve heard enough,” Brandy sings, as she narrates her frustrations about her man not prioritizing her. Soon after, T.I. comes in with some smooth bars about how he plans to be present “forever more, the rest of eternity.” Produced by Kanye West, “Where You Wanna Be” features a perfect balance of soulful melody and rhythmic beats, a style reminiscent of Brandy’s music.  

5. “Top Of The World” Ft. Mase

“Top Of The World” is the seventh track off Brandy’s second studio album, Never Say Never. The song represents themes of success and ambition, with Brandy reminiscing about how far she had come as a musician. “Top Of The World” did relatively well on the charts, peaking at No. 44 on Billboard’s Radio Songs Chart, and reaching No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart. More recently, in 2023, “Top Of The World” was sampled by Nigerian singer Burna Boy on a track titled “Sittin’ On Top Of The World.” This brought some much-needed nostalgia for Brandy fans and a newfound appreciation for one of her most ambitious collabs.

4. “Put It Down” Ft. Chris Brown 

“Put It Down” was released as the lead single of Brandy’s sixth studio album, Two Eleven. The song centers around sexual attraction and confidence, with Brandy and Chris Brown delivering flirtatious verses over a pulsating beat. Marking Brandy’s return to music after a brief hiatus, the track sees the songstress keep up with contemporary R&B while staying true to her original style. “Put It Down” was also a hit,  performing relatively well on the charts, and amassing over 60 million views on YouTube. 

3. “Talk About Our Love” Ft. Kanye West

Easily one of her best collabs, Brandy and longtime musical partner Kanye West excelled on this sleek number. “Talk About Our Love” was the lead single on Brandy’s fourth studio album, Afrodisiac. Peaking at No. 36 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, the track was also a moderate commercial success. The track’s theme revolved around nosy acquaintances who always seemed to be in the couples’ business. 

2. “Baby Mama” Ft. Chance The Rapper

With “Baby Mama,” Brandy released an ode to single mothers. “Ain’t dependent on you, I’m a baby mama,” Brandy sings, as she praises single mothers for their resilience. In a comment on her YouTube, Brandy further explains that the inspiration for the track is her own daughter, Syrai, who motivates her to push through anything. Furthermore, Chance the Rapper’s verse helped boost the track’s appeal across R&B and Hip Hop fanbases.

“I Wanna Be Down” (Remix) employs the talents of Queen Latifah, Yo-Yo, and MC Lyte to create a Hip Hop version of Brandy’s smash hit, “I Wanna Be Down.” This remix is important because it established Brandy as a versatile act; this was one of her first Hip Hop collabs. Moreover, with almost 60 million streams, “I Wanna Be Down” (Remix) is also one of Brandy’s most streamed songs on Spotify. Overall, it remains a timeless piece of music in her decades-long career.

50 Cent Shows Diddy Compassion Amid Sexual Assault Accusations

It seems like 50 Cent had a slight change of heart when it comes to one of his rival moguls in the music and entertainment industry. If you clicked on this article, you likely know of the wave of sexual assault allegations that emerged against Diddy. Moreover, a couple of them popped up after a lawsuit from former Bad Boy artist Cassie, who settled her filing with him less than 24 hours after it became bombshell news. Since then, Sean Combs faced various other lawsuits or accusations that, as of writing this article, are unclear in terms of how they will shape out in court. As such, the G-Unit mogul took some time on Instagram on Thursday (November 23) to acknowledge how heavy this situation is.

“Damn I hope he alright if you cool with him check on him,” 50 Cent wrote on the social media platform, attached to a screenshot of the most recent sexual assault lawsuit against Diddy. “All joke a side this is a lot.” Just minutes prior, he had commented on these allegations in possible a more vindictive or “I told you so” way. “I told you, I just said and here they come in 5,4,3,2,1. I don’t know WTF going on here this is cr*zy,” the New York MC posted on IG. He’s had a long history of clowning Puff Daddy for various reasons, but it seems like even he became cognizant of the fact he was going too far.

50 Cent Shows Empathy For Diddy

Regardless of Fif’s thoughts on the matter changing in tone, and especially considering how he predicted this wave, it’s hard to assume that he’s now on “his side” of things. Rather, it seems like he’s just considering how much of a toll accusations like this can take on a person, regardless of the truth behind them. 50 Cent showed some empathy here, even if his history points to him believing that Diddy should face a fair trial and that his alleged victims should be heard. Perhaps this changes even more in the future, but alas, only time will tell.

Meanwhile, other music figures like Joe Budden walked back on their thoughts on the Bad Boy mogul’s case. In this example, he deleted a segment on his podcast in which he and his crew discussed it. Now that the case became much more numerous in terms of claims and multi-faceted, people are recognizing that it’s too heavy of a matter for casual assessment. 5. “Bout That” Ft. Lil Wayne 

“Bout That” features a good amount of braggadocio, with Jeezy and Lil Wayne rapping about their affluence in the rap game, paralleling their status in the music industry to the streets. Jeezy’s gritty rap style blends perfectly with Lil Wayne’s sly, witty lyrics, and the result is a smooth mix. “Bout That” might not have been a major hit, but real Hip Hop heads can’t help but appreciate the genius of this collaboration. 3. “Put On” feat. Kanye West 

“Put On” was released as the lead single for Jeezy’s third studio album, The Recession. The track, which features Kanye West, utilizes a grandiose and anthemic sound, with a beat filled with triumphant horns and impactful percussions. “Put On” peaked at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Furthermore, with over 200 million streams on Spotify, it is one of the most streamed Jeezy collabs of all time.  

2. “My President” Ft. Nas

“My President” is a socially conscious track celebrating Obama’s nomination for the American presidency under the Democratic Party. The song’s lyrics explore various social and socio-economic issues in the United States, especially those faced by African Americans. One of his most introspective collabs, Jeezy delivers some of his most powerful verses, and Nas keeps the ball rolling by the third verse. The song also strikes a balance between the urgency of the situation and the general ecstasy that comes with the possibility that an African American candidate had a shot at becoming president. “My President” peaked at No. 53 on the Hot 100 chart, and the track’s music video has over 25 million streams on YouTube.

Released in 2011 as part of Jeezy’s sixth album TM: 103, “I Do” explores themes of commitment, love, and the complexities of romantic relationships. The track’s production features a smooth and melodic beat, providing a soulful backdrop for pensive lyrics. “I Do” peaked at number 61 on the Hot 100, and was also nominated for Best Rap Performance at the 2013 Grammy Awards. Commercial success aside, it’s a signature collab in Jeezy’s discography.

Dolly Parton Praised And Jack Harlow Roasted For NFL Halftime Shows

Dolly Parton and Jack Harlow became a tale of two halftime shows as each performed at one of the NFL’s Thanksgiving games. Harlow kicked off the day with a low-key four-song performance in front of a small igloo during the Packers’ blowout of the Lions. Meanwhile, Parton dressed like a Cowboys cheerleader and covered Queen as Dallas decimated the Commanders. However, as soon as Parton’s Super Bowl-esque show began, people turned to roasting Harlow.

Firstly, no one quite understood the whole igloo thing for Harlow. It would make more sense at the icy Lambeau Field. However, Harlow was performing at the indoor, climate-controlled Ford Field while it was 50 degrees outside in Detroit. Furthermore, there was little to no production value as Harlow performed in front of what one Twitter used called “a set borrowed from a local middle school production of Frozen“.

Dolly Parton Eats, Jack Harlow Burns The Turkey

As mentioned, Parton put on a feast to rival any dinner table in America. Dressed in the iconic Cowboys cheerleader uniform, Dolly Did Dallas. She opened with two of her most-beloved classics – “Jolene” and “9 To 5”. However, she then stunned the crowd by pulling out amazing covers of Queen’s “We Are The Champions” and “We Will Rock You”. We would have loved to have seen Dolly hit “Don’t Stop Me Now” but she still killed both songs.

However, both acts performed at blowout Thanksgiving matchups. The Packers were up 23-6 when Harlow took the stage in Detroit. While Detroit had something of a come back in the second half, they couldn’t do enough to erase the deficit and lost 29-22. Meanwhile, things were even more lopsided in Dallas. The Cowboys dropped 45 points on the Commanders, improving to 8-3 on the season and staying undefeated at home. Elsewhere, Steve Aoki put on a well-received performance during halftime of the late-night game on the West Coast. CMC and the Niners made easy work of the Seahawks to further secure their hold on their division.

Travis Scott is an artist who has consistently had some amazing performances. Overall, his shows are known for their energy. A couple of years ago, tragedy struck at the Astroworld Festival and Scott stopped performing for a while. However, he is now back on tour to promote his album Utopia. The Circus Maximus Tour has proven to be a massive success and he has been going to a plethora of cities. This past week, he even found himself in Austin, Texas.

Of course, Scott is from Houston, which makes this tour stop in his home state. The fans in Austin brought a whole lot of energy, and there was no doubt that some fans were looking to have the experience of their lives. If you have ever seen a Scott show, you know that some fans try to stage dive. Furthermore, Scott always allows some fans to come on stage and rage with him. It has always proven to be a fun act for these fans, and as you can see, one fan almost got yeeted off of the stage.

In the clip above, reposted by HipHopDX, Scott can be seen grabbing a wannabe stage diver who burst onto the stage. Subsequently, the security came in to take him off by Scott had other plans. He tells them to go away and they obey the command. From there, Scott and the fan continue to rage together on stage. It was an incredible opportunity for the fan, who seemed to be extremely excited about the opportunity. While Scott may have been a bit aggressive at first, it seems as though he just wanted to make sure the fan was safe and didn’t do anything regrettable.

Who Is Headlining The 2024 Reading And Leeds Festivals?

While Americans were celebrating Thanksgiving yesterday (November 23), on the other side of the pond, UK music fans were treated to a major festival announcement: The Reading and Leeds Festivals, the paired events that are among the biggest events of the summer in the country, have announced their headliners for 2024.

Leading the way for next summer’s events are Lana Del Rey, Blink-182, Fred Again.., Liam Gallagher, Catfish And The Bottlemen, and Gerry Cinnamon. Fred, Del Rey, and Cinnamon are all headlining the event for the first time, and Gallagher is set to perform Oasis’s Definitely Maybe album in full.

Organizers actually unveiled the first ten performers, as also on the bill are Raye, Skrillex, Spiritbox, and Digga D.

The festivals are set to go down from August 21 to 25, 2024. Presale tickets for Barclaycard and Three customers are available starting at 8:30 a.m. GMT (3:30 a.m. ET) on November 28. Then, weekend and day tickets go on general sale starting at 8:30 a.m. GMT (3:30 a.m. ET) on November 30.

Cardi B & Offset Call Police On “Journalist” Trying To Record Their Home

Cardi B and Offset have each other’s back for everything: their careers, their personal lives, their growing family, and their safety and security. Moreover, the two recently faced a scary situation around Thursday (November 23) near their Sandy Springs, Atlanta home that resulted in them calling the police. An as-of-press-time unidentified man walked near their property and tried to film it, and security guards outside their home told him to vacate the premises. The man, though, claimed to be a journalist. One security guard even tried to block his camera with his hand so he couldn’t get any more footage.

Furthermore, the man continued his staunch defense, claiming that he’s a journalist with First Amendment rights to “walk down the street and record” Cardi B and Offset’s home. Not only that, but he threatened a police officer with looking through his “public record” given his profession and gathering his personal information. Eventually, the dynamic music duo‘s security called local law enforcement after the man refused to stop trying to record or get closer to the property. When they arrived, the still unidentified “journalist” went into police custody, and they removed him from the surrounding area.

While this couple has always faced a pretty rocky road throughout their life, it’s moments like these that might put things in perspective for them in terms of how much they need to be ready to protect one another. After all, Cardi B and Offset could’ve encountered this person on their doorstep, and who knows what could’ve happened then? As of writing this article, we don’t know whether this “journalist” will face charges, spend time in the slammer, or what the nature of his repercussions- if any- will be. Perhaps the couple won’t pursue legal action, and the situation can hopefully de-escalate with more knowledge and context for how their security can handle these situations next time.

Meanwhile, Bardi and ‘Set are still hard at work on new music, and have helped each other a lot throughout this process, it seems. Overall, even though the former is still yet to drop her sophomore release, hopefully that changes very soon- and will likely be the case. Let’s just cross our fingers and hope that no press figure without the proper clearance scares them in their Atlanta home. Kanye West Re-Adds Lil Durk To “Vultures”

Kanye West is someone who always changes his mind. Overall, it is something that has completely defined his career over the decades. While he usually ends up giving us a great project, it takes a while to get there. However, it is something that has worked for him, regardless of how mad it makes people. When you have a resume like Kanye’s, you can get away with this kind of stuff. Although he has ruined his reputation with his political takes, that has not stopped some fans from tuning into his work.

These days, Ye is spending his time in Saudi Arabia where he is working on a brand-new project. This is an album that a lot of fans are excited about as it will be a collaborative effort with Ty Dolla $ign. This past week, we got the lead single for the album, simply called “Vultures.” Originally, this song was going to feature the likes of Lil Durk, however, his verse was ultimately removed. After complaints from fans, Ye has had yet another change of heart. Below, you can listen to the official version with Durk’s verse.

Kanye West Blesses Lil Durk

No one actually knows why Durk was taken off of the track in the first place. Typically, Ye never offers such explanations. Instead, he will make changes however he sees fit. We saw that with albums like The Life Of Pablo and even Donda. Days and weeks following the release of those albums, Ye was still making an abundance of changes. That is just how he operates, and that will never change. Having said all of that, there is no doubt that his new album is going to be a rollercoaster. No one truly knows what will come of it.

People Adored Dolly Parton’s NFL Thanksgiving Halftime Show, Especially In Comparison To Jack Harlow’s

Yesterday (November 23) was Thanksgiving, and Thanksgiving means NFL football, and NFL football means halftime shows. The sports league booked a nice roster of performers for this year’s festivities, with Jack Harlow playing the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions game, Dolly Parton performing at the Washington Commanders and Dallas Cowboys match-up, and Steve Aoki taking the contest between the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks.

It was Parton and Harlow who drew the most attention, though, but for different reasons.

Parton gave it her all, donning a Cowboys cheerleader uniform on a massive stage as she delivered rousing renditions of her own “Jolene” and “9 To 5” and Queen’s “We Are The Champions” and “We Will Rock You.”

Harlow, meanwhile, was decidedly more scaled back with his production, running through four songs on a small igloo set.

Harlow’s performance happened earlier in the day, so after Parton’s went down later on, the internet was full of comparisons between the two showings, pretty much exclusively in favor of Parton. One X (formerly Twitter) user commented, “Beloved American icon Dolly Parton showing the world how to do a halftime show only hours after Jack Harlow borrowed the set from a local middle school’s production of Frozen for his.”

Iggy Azalea stunned fans earlier this year when she revealed that she would be starting an OnlyFans. Azalea had been known for her provocative snaps on Instagram. However, no one would have guessed that she would go all the way and end up on OF. Overall, it is a website with a certain reputation attached to it. However, she decided to do it anyway as a means to connect with fans and properly preview new music, without a label getting in the way.

Now, it seems like Azalea’s OnlyFans endeavors have worked out in her favor. Currently, the rapper charges $25 per month for her OnlyFans account. According to Adult Toy Company LELO, her earnings for the entire year were $48 million. This makes her the biggest celebrity on the entire platform. Cardi B made $45 million, however, so she is not far behind. Amber Rose and Tyga also did well for themselves, making upwards of $26 and $20 million, respectively.
