Tamar Braxton Takes “Accountability” For Called-Off Engagement

Recently, Tamar Braxton took to Instagram Live to open up about her breakup with Jeremy “JR” Robinson. The two were previously engaged before calling things off in October of this year. In a new clip, she’s seen chatting with her fans about what led up to their split, while JR sits nearby.

“We broke up because of me, and because he announced it, it looked a certain way,” she explained. “He announced the breakup, the breakup happened because of me.” Braxton continued, describing how she’s decided to take “accountability” for her role in the situation. “That’s a good man, and I’m so grateful that things played out the way that it has played out. And I think we need to normalize us females when it’s us,” she added. “I’m not blaming myself, I’m taking accountability.”

Tamar Braxton Discusses Her Breakup With JR

The clip comes as somewhat of a surprise to fans, who just saw her announce that she’s gearing up to debut her “comeback candy” following some recent beef. Earlier this month, she went back and forth with Tommie Lee on social media, after Chrisean Rock allegedly punched her backup dancer in the face. The Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star accused Braxton of only allowing Chrisean onstage for clout, prompting her to fire back. She took aim at Tommie Lee, shedding light on her past drug use.

Only a few days after their spat, Tommie Lee attended a sporting event, joined by none other than JR. She didn’t at all attempt to hide who she was with, instead posting various clips of the two of them together on her Instagram Story. Fans immediately speculated that she only went out with him to get under Braxton’s skin, but it’s unclear whether or not she was successful. What do you think of Tamar Braxton’s take on her breakup with Jeremy “Jr” Robinson? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Victoria Monet Reveals Why She Didn’t Perform At The VMAs

Earlier this year the MTV Video Music Awards played host to many of the biggest artists in all of music. In particular, Taylor Swift had a great night taking home numerous awards and Nicki Minaj once again shined as host. The award show also featured some of the top breakout talents in all of music. That included breakout Mexican sensation Peso Pluma, pop singer Renee Rapp, and the eventual Best New Artist winner Ice Spice. But one artist who wasn’t there was Victoria Monet.

Monet has been one of the breakthrough stars in R&B this year. She released her debut album JAGUAR II in August of this year to much critical acclaim. The album contains many of her biggest but one has separated itself from the pack. “On My Mama” proved to be her breakthrough hit on the charts landing on the Hot 100 following the release of her new album. It’s stuck around on the chart as well coming in at #59 this week after peaking at #48 earlier this month. Now she’s seen fit to explain her absence from the VMAs earlier this year.

Victoria Monet Talks VMAs Absence

Monet originally explained in a tweet the night of the event what she was told by MTV. They reportedly said that she was “too early in her story” for an invitation to the event. That already seemed fishy to fans who could see her breakout coming. But her success in the months since has likely only made MTV wish more and more that she had received an invite after all.

In the comments, some fans come to the defense of MTV. “Her music isn’t really MTV tho. I think they were being polite,” one fan suggests. “OK y’all gonna hate me for this, but it is too early for her. In my opinion her one song is bop yes, but VMAS is a big platform,” another comment reads. What do you think of Victoria Monet revealing why she wasn’t invited to the VMAs just a few months ago? Let us know in the comment section below.

Billy Porter Unapologetically Announces His Return To Mainstream Pop With Upcoming “Black Mona Lisa” Album

In a fearless declaration, Billy Porter is breaking barriers as he reenters the mainstream pop music scene after 27 years. And he’s doing it with an upcoming album titled Black Mona Lisa. The iconic artist and actor is ready to showcase his artistry on his own terms. In fact, he is embracing his authentic self and unapologetically reclaiming space in the music industry. In a recent interview, Porter expressed his excitement about the journey ahead. He emphasized that this return to the mainstream pop music space is happening entirely on his own terms. “I get to do it on my own terms, here I get to show up,” he asserted. This highlights the significance of autonomy and self-expression in his creative process.

The title of the album, Black Mona Lisa, carries profound symbolism. It reflects Porter’s bold assertion of his identity and the strength of his artistic vision. In a noteworthy and unapologetic move, Porter addressed the use of the term “faggoty” in his interview. “I’m returning to the mainstream pop music space on my own Black, faggoty terms,” he said. “And I use faggoty as a term of endearment honey.” He drew a parallel with the use of the n-word, emphasizing the power of self-identification. And the reclaiming of language within marginalized communities. “Just like I can use the n-word. Y’all can’t if you’re not gay,” Porter stated, asserting the agency of the LGBTQ+ community in framing their own narrative.

Sexyy Red & Kevin Gates Perform “Yonce Freestyle” Live: Watch

It’s no secret that Sexyy Red knows how to put on quite a show, and her most recent performance was no exception. In a new clip, the St. Louis-born hitmaker is seen welcoming none other than Kevin Gates to the stage. Of course, the duo performed their new collab “Yonce Freestyle,” and the crowd went wild. She frequently surprises her fans with special guests, also reportedly bringing out Chrisean Rock at one point in her set.

The two artists announced that they were teaming up at the beginning of this month, following months of demands from fans. Supporters suspected that their similarly raunchy styles would make them a match made in heaven. B.G., who just recently returned home from an 11-year prison-stay, also appears on the freaky track.

Sexyy Red Welcomes Kevin Gates To The Stage

This year alone, she’s managed to secure collabs with Drake and SZA, Lil Durk, DaBaby, and more. Clearly, the “Pound Town” performer doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. Her list of high-profile collabs isn’t the only thing continuing to grow these days, however. In the clip, Sexyy Red’s pregnant belly is also on full display, though it hasn’t kept her from her signature stage antics. Her authenticity and work ethic have gotten her a long way in recent months, but unfortunately, the feedback hasn’t been all positive.

She recently dropped off a music video for her new track “Free My N***a,” which has sparked a bit of controversy among viewers. The prison-themed video didn’t sit right with some fans, who felt that it was insensitive. Regardless, it’s racked up hundreds of thousands of listens on Spotify in only a few days. What do you think of Sexyy Red bringing out Kevin Gates at one of her recent shows? Are you a fan of their collab? Young Thug RICO Trial Judge “Very Angry” In Court, Mistrial Rumblings Begin

Young Thug’s eagerly-anticipated RICO trial is finally underway, however, it may not be for much longer. According to Law & Crime‘s Cathy Russon, Judge Ural Glanville, who’s overseeing the trial, recently got upset in the courtroom. “Judge Glanville appeared very angry and called all attorneys back in chambers,” she Tweeted earlier today. “Working to get more information but murmurs about a mistrial. Stand by!”

While it remains unclear what upset him, there’s been some chatter online surrounding the media accidentally showing jurors’ faces in footage from the trial. This has resulted in images of the jurors floating around, which obviously pose a serious security risk. Young Thug has already been awaiting trial for quite some time now, with several delays surrounding the jury selection process. If Judge Glanville chooses to rule this a mistrial, the rapper will stay behind bars awaiting his next trial, and the process will restart.

Delays Could Continue In Young Thug’s Case

Russon’s news follows Young Thug’s request for a mistrial on the first day of the trial. Judge Glanville swiftly denied the request. His attorney Brian Steel accused prosecutors of intentional misconduct, noting how they failed to provide the defense with slides from their opening statement. Judge Glanville eventually had jurors leave the courtroom to get the situation sorted, calling out the prosecution for their lack of preparation. He got frustrated at the time as well due to ongoing delays.

Young Thug’s attorney continues to get attention amid the trial for his compelling, and arguably amusing, arguments. Earlier this week, Steel argued that the name of Young Thug’s 2022 track with Gunna and Future, “Pushin P,” actually stands for “pushing positivity.” What do you think of reports that Judge Ural Glanville got upset in court today? How about the possibility that he could rule this a mistrial? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Apparently Nicolas Cage And Lenny Kravitz Once Did A High School Musical Together (???) (!!!)

Nicolas Cage Lenny Kravitz
Getty Image

You don’t hear a lot of stories involving both Nicolas Cage and Lenny Kravitz. Why would you? One’s an Oscar-winning thespian who hates that he’s been memed while the other is Grammy-winning genre-blending musician (who, to be fair, was in a couple Hunger Gameses). Thing is, they actually go way back. They went to Beverly Hills High School. That may not sound too mind-blowing. But this is: They did a high school musical together.

As caught by People, Kravitz sat down for a video chat with Esquire, in which he recalled knowing the young “Nic Coppola,” as Cage went then. (He changed his name for his second movie, 1983’s Valley Girl.) He also remembered doing a production of that old high school musical stalwart Oklahoma! Alas, they weren’t acting together.

“I was in the orchestra and Nic was on stage,” Kravitz recalled. “He was singing and dancing and acting and I was playing drums. It was a good time.”

Who did Cage play in Oklahoma!? Was he strapping lead Curly? Show-off dingbat Will Parker? He would have made a terrifying Jud Fry.

Cage wasn’t the only future famous person Kravitz knew at Beverly Hills High School. “I just saw Slash, who I went to high school with,” Kravitz recalled, though he may have known him under his real name, Saul Hudson. “And Gina Gershon.”

Though Cage and Kravitz have never done a movie together, Cage has worked with his daughter, Zoë, sort of: They both did voices in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. That means they probably never recorded in the same booth, though he might have told her some fun stories about her dad at the premiere.

You can watch Kravitz’s full Esquire sit-down below.
