Lil Wayne Found André 3000’s ‘Rapping Over 40’ Comments Extremely ‘Depressing,’ But It Won’t Stop Him From Hitting The Booth

André 3000’s long-awaited return to music raised an important question: Is there an age limit on rap? While discussing his decision to make an instrumental rather than a rap album, the former OutKast member told GQ that he thinks so. Well, word got back to 41-year-old rapper Lil Wayne, who took to his Young Money Radio show on Apple Music to share his thoughts on the matter.

Lil Wayne didn’t mention André 3000 by name, but the firestorm his comments sparked made it abundantly clear that he was at the center of the chat between Lil Wayne and Tyga.

“I read a depressing quote or two from someone I respect a lot in music – in Hip Hop period, in music period,” Lil Wayne said. “And they were asked, ‘Why you ain’t been doing music’ or whatever? And they were like, ‘Man, what I’m a talk about? I’m in my 40s. Like, what am I supposed to talk about?’ I was like, wow, that was so depressing. I’m like, I have everything to talk about.”

Lil Wayne’s recent joint project with 2 Chainz, Welcome 2 Collegrove, demonstrates that he still has more than enough raps tucked into his mind to keep his musical legacy going.

Joe Budden On Sexyy Red’s New Song “Free My N***a”: “I’m Off The Boat”

Even though Sexyy Red conquered 2023 with her hits, it seems like her latest one, “Free My N***a,” is even getting some fans off her side. Moreover, The Joe Budden Podcast recently discussed the release, and its titular host in particular was not a fan at all. Sure, it’s not like this crew absolutely loved her music before, but they liked it and had love for what she’s doing. However, we have to distinguish this disappointed reaction from the blind hatred that the St. Louis MC gets online no matter what she puts out there. Still, criticism is criticism, and the hosts debated on the longevity of her career and what her art centers around.

Furthermore, Joe Budden and his companions posited that it feels like someone forced Sexyy Red to make this record. To paraphrase them, say what you will about Hood Hottest Princess, but at least those songs on that album felt like they were hers. In comparison, they believe that the 25-year-old forced “Free My N***a,” and it didn’t come off as genuine or skilled as a result. Of course, this is just speculation at the end of the day, but it was a much more nuanced discussion than what sadly and typically plagues her Twitter mentions.

The Joe Budden Podcast Tears Into Sexyy Red’s “Free My N***a”: Watch

Elsewhere during their episode, The Joe Budden Podcast also discussed CyHi The Prynce’s new music video for “Mr. Put That S**t On.” In it, the rapper jokingly depicts this podcast, specifically and seemingly taking aim at Budden for their years-long beef. Before you get too quick to assume, there’s an explanation for this that CyHi offered. According to him, this was meant to show how media discussion and criticism impacts the creative process both ways, and wasn’t necessarily a dig at the Slaughterhouse affiliate.

Meanwhile, we know just how harsh Joe Budden can be when it comes to his critique of music. In fact, it was a surprise when this year’s biggest rival for the podcaster, Drake, dropped a new EP and he chose to not comment on it at all. Despite receiving disses on those tracks, it’s clear that– for the most part– the 43-year-old only speaks on things when he’s passionate about their importance. For more news on him and the latest updates on Sexyy Red, log back into HNHH.

The Alchemist Premieres New Music With Yasiin Bey, F.K.A. Mos Def, At Los Angeles Show

The Alchemist recently hosted a one-off show along with MIKE and Wiki to perform their new 2023 album, Faith Is A Rock. On Thursday (November 30), he and these two amazing MCs hit the Teragram Ballroom and performed together for the first time. However, one of the most exciting parts of the show happened when Uncle Al previewed new music with the one and only Yasiin Bey, which many of you might know better as Mos Def. In fact, it’s a bit of a left hook: rather than rap through the beat, he decided to take on a more melodic delivery as he muses through his themes. Regardless, it was still a great taste.

Moreover, The Alchemist and Yasiin Bey don’t have much of a collaborative history, which makes this all the more exciting. Still, the former has worked with the latter’s Black Star partner, Talib Kweli, so we can assume that they have a lot to love for each other. That legendary collaboration turned 25 years old this year, which also adds another touching angle to this premiere. Even after all these years, Bey remains one of the most respected, beloved, and influential MCs of all time.

The Alchemist & Yasiin Bey’s New Material: Listen

Of course, this also prompts some speculation– or rather, pipe dreams– about a joint project between him and Uncle Al. After all, the iconic producer is well-known for crafting some of the best collab albums in rap history, and keeps dropping excellent team-ups. Faith Is A Rock is just one example from this year, with another being the impeccably crafted VOIR DIRE with Earl Sweatshirt. With this history in mind, it’s only natural that fans want to see what he can unlock within any other MCs over the course of a full LP.

Meanwhile, the artist formerly known as Mos Def took some time earlier in 2023 to pay respect to some of hip-hop’s titans. Much like how the beatmaker is a pivotal part of so many careers, De La Soul is even more important, and he thanked them for paving the way for him and so many others. All these artists continue to make great strides today, and it’s exciting to see how legends keep growing. On that note, check back in with HNHH for more news and the latest updates on The Alchemist and Yasiin Bey.

Robert Glasper Thinks Chris Brown Dance-Off Could Solve Grammys Beef

Earlier this year, Chris Brown took aim at Robert Glasper after the artist secured a Grammy for Best R&B Album, which he was also nominated for. He claimed that he didn’t even know who Glasper was, sparking a great deal of backlash. “Y’all playing. Who da f*ck is this?” he asked, adding, “Who the f–k is Robert Glasper. I’ma keep kicking y’all a** respectfully.”

Amid the fallout, Chris Brown apologized to Glasper, claiming that the two of them should have been in different categories. “Congratulations my brother,” he began. “I would like to apologize if you took offense to my reaction at the Grammys. You were not the intended target and I know I came off really rude and mean,” he said. “After doing my research I actually think your amazing… THE ORGANIZATION ISNT DOING US BLACKS OUR DUE DILIGENCE.” Now, the two of them are going head to head once again, this time in the Best R&B Performance category.

Robert Glasper On Being Nominated For Same Category As Chris Brown Again

TMZ recently chatted with Glasper, asking him how he feels about being nominated alongside Breezy again after what happened last time. According to him, “this time around, there’s only one way to do this… a dance-off.” He also added that Chris Brown doesn’t want any of his dancing “smoke.”

“Me and Breezy square up in the middle of a ring and just dance it out,” he suggested. “You already know what it is.” Jokes aside, Glasper then noted that he has no hard feelings towards Chris Brown these days, even claiming that he would be open to working with him in the future. “He’s an amazing artist,” he said. “He just had a moment and I’m not taking it personal.” What do you think of Robert Glasper challenging Chris Brown to a dance-off? What about them both being nominees for Best R&B Performance? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Kanye West & Real Estate Agent Dine In Dubai

Kanye West is still in Dubai, and a recent dinner prompted speculation that he might want to purchase a property there. Moreover, he chopped it up over some food with real estate agent Marcel Remus, and the two appeared in a couple of snaps that surfaced online. While the details or nature of this conversation weren’t publicized, there are a couple of different considerations that could inform this meeting. One is that the Chicago rapper is interested in acquiring more real estate, whether that’s in the United Arab Emirates or in other parts of the world. It doesn’t have to be for him, either; he could be figuring out a way to get some other form of permit, ownership, or lease.

Of course, this last possibility points towards an infamous part of Kanye West’s past few years– which is saying a lot. Furthermore, he tried to organize concerts a couple of times already this year, if every single report about it is accurate. However, these efforts dodged Ye at every turn, despite the alleged proximity of his collab album with Ty Dolla $ign and his own solo work. Even though the hate train has died down a bit, he still has a lot to answer and atone for if he is to fully return to the public’s good graces.

Kanye West Enjoys Dubai Dinner With Real Estate Agent

As such, Kanye West’s low-profile stay in Dubai, as well as his international travels over the past year or so, came as no surprise. After all, it’s got to be more private and easy to avoid paparazzi and hecklers overseas… even if they find you anyway. Regardless, he probably got has bigger things on his mind, such as his relationship with his wife Bianca Censori. Apparently, the two recently went through a rough patch, but the 46-year-old and the architect are moving past that.

Meanwhile, his new song “Vultures” got him in more hot water for its references to Jewish women. It seems like this is an inescapable reality in this narrative, which is disheartening to see. Hopefully Ye keeps laying low, especially if he’s just going to keep fanning the flames of his controversies. For more news and the latest updates on Kanye West, stick around on HNHH.

The Game Reveals Why He Didn’t Sign To Death Row, Recalls Time With Suge Knight

During a recent interview with VladTV, The Game opened up about the time he spent with Suge Knight. He says he hung around him and other artists like Eastwood and Crooked I for a couple of months, but ultimately decided not to sign to Death Row. According to him, he simply concluded that the label just wasn’t the right fit.

He cited the competitive nature of West Coast hip hop, adding that he felt as though he “belonged on records.” Eventually, he got connected with Diddy who “pushed him over” to Dr. Dre. The Game also agreed that at that point, the label was only a “shell” of what it once was. 2Pac had already passed away and Snoop Dogg and other notable artists had moved on.

Diddy Speaks On Suge Knight, Death Row Records

He later spoke about meeting people like Snoop Dogg and Busta Rhymes. According to him, it was like being a “kid in an amusement park.” The Game also reflected on meeting Dr. Dre, calling it nothing short of “life-changing.” He went on to give Dr. Dre his flowers for the impact he’s had on West Coast hip-hop and his career. He wasn’t always so appreciative of Dr. Dre, however. During a precious appearance on Drink Champs, he claimed that Kanye West did more for him in two weeks than Dr. Dre ever did, though he later backpedaled.

“Having Dre do anything for your project, anything in your career, touch any part of anything you’re doing in life is such a blessing that I shall not ever s**t on that again,” he explained. “I should have actually gave him more grace for what he did do and that was actually mentoring me and doing things that nobody could have done for me in my career.” What do you think of The Game’s explanation for deciding not to sign to Death Row? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Jim Jones Gives Drake His Flowers While Choosing The “Best Album Of The Year”

Jim Jones has declared For All The Dogs Scary Hours Edition his best album of the year. Jones gave his answer at last month’s ComplexCon. “That extendo clip that Drake just dropped got real spooky on n-ggas,” Jones explained. However, he also gave props to Too Good To Be True and Utopia. The six-song deluxe EP recently helped push the Drake product back to the top of the Billboard album charts. Despite the success of the album, last week only marked its second week at No. 1. It displaced Stray Kids’ ROCK-STAR, which tumbled to No. 7.

Furthermore, For All The Dogs has also reached platinum certification in recent weeks. However, the RIAA has yet to confirm this. For All The Dogs was able to hold off another resurgence from 1989 (Taylor’s Version), which spent another week at No. 2. Ironically, the first track of Drake’s EP shouts out Taylor Swift. “Taylor Swift the only n-gga that I ever rated. Only one could make me drop the album just a little later. Rest of y’all, I treat you like you never made it,” Drake raps on “Red Button”.

Jim Jones Goes After Dee-1

However, Jones doesn’t have love for everyone. In early November, Jones appeared to go after New Orleans rapper Dee-1. “I don’t care about what [Dee-1] said. That boy don’t know me. I know his trick. He using my name for fame. It’s all good … I do more in one month for people than he’ll ever do in his whole life. I really give back to the people, I don’t care about none of the rhetoric he talking about,” Jones said. His comments came after Dee had called him out.

Despite this, Dee-1 appeared unfazed. “Jim Jones, I love you; Meek Mill, I love you; Rick Ross, I love you. The world wants it to become something negative and unhealthy, but let’s make sure we use this as an opportunity to educate and to communicate… And if that means we can be friends at the end of this — cool. If we can’t ever be friends — cool, all good. Just go be a better man of God and I’ma try to be the best man of God I can be, and it’s gucci,” Dee-1 said in response.

50 Cent Is Reportedly Working To Develop A Documentary About Diddy Following His Sexual Assault Lawsuit Allegations

50 Cent’s longstanding disdain of Diddy appears to have reached new heights. According to Page Six, the former is allegedly working to develop an investigative documentary about latter and his legal woes. Given 50 Cent’s troll-like tendencies and the public pressure Diddy is facing following the strings of sexual assault lawsuits, people online are throwing their support behind the idea.

Although Diddy has maintained his innocence, 50 Cent is confident he has the investigative skills to find proof to substantiate the claims in court documents. “I thought Diddy was a billionaire music mogul,” wrote 50 Cent in a post on X (formerly Twitter). “If he’s smart, he will file for bankruptcy now. Anyone with real money knows why I’m saying this. I’m the best producer for the job guys. Here come the receipts.”

After learning that Diddy had stepped down as chairman of Revolt, 50 Cent rushed to X to express his interest in purchasing the network. “I’ll buy that from you, playboy, for the low because you know Cadillac and AT&T gonna pull out,” wrote 50 Cent. “I’ll give you a few dollars for it now! Sell it to me, then we can be friends. I’m serious. Call my phone.”

50 Cent has shown his producing chops with Starz shows such as BMF and the Power Universe franchise. Could a documentary be his next creative venture?

Lil Nas X Puts “Christian Era” Critics On Blast

Lil Nas X has gone after those who have criticized him for entering his “Christian Era” this week. “I hate how the world successfully changed the narrative of the call me by your name video. y’all hate that i symbolically took ownership of the very place yall condemned gay people to, so you’ve flipped the script and convinced everyone that its about me “mocking god”,” Lil Nas wrote on social media.

The primary critic of Lil Nas’ announcement had been Tyrese. The singer had taken issue with Lil Nas’ comments, telling Lil Nas to “stop playing with God” and accused Lil Nas of “making a mockery of Jesus”. Many of Tyrese’s fans agreed with him, causing Lil Nas to make his aforementioned statement.

Lil Nas X Has Hilarious Response To PinkPantheress Photo

While Lil Nas is never one to avoid speaking his mind, he is also known to utilize social media for levity as well. Back in April, a picture of Lil Nas kissing PinkPantheress did the rounds on social media. This of course led to wild speculation across social media and gossip outlets. In fairness, it is very good evidence to link the two of them. They have been seen linking up a few times during 2023 already, going back as far as February. Nas posted a picture of the pair of them on February 28 to Instagram. However, the pair are yet to link up musically.

However, Lil Nas X had the full story, which he explained via his Twitter account. “she had food on her lip ! I was getting it off !” The response has been like 45,000 times since he posted it on Saturday morning. The comments are, of course, a mess. There’s memes, jokes, support, and just a fun little splash of outright homophobia. Neither Lil Nas nor Pinkpantheress has outright confirmed that the pair are dating and Lil Nas’ explanation is pretty convincing.

50 Cent Claims “Power” Lawsuit Drug Dealer “Waited Too Long” To File Assault Charges

50 Cent has requested the dismissal of assault charges claimed by Corey “Ghost” Holland. Fif has said that the former drug dealer “waited too long” to add the assault allegations to his already existing $1 billion lawsuit against the G-Unit mogul. “Plaintiff’s claim that he suffered from severe emotional distress is undermined by the allegations that Plaintiff owns a weapon and he and his family repeatedly tried to confront Jackson,” Fif’s legal team noted in court filings. “The allegation that Jackson ‘actually came to plaintiff home and neighborhood’ and ‘pull[ed] up to plaintiff home’ does not constitute a claim for assault,” Fif’s motion added.

Holland is suing Fif for $1 billion. The former drug dealer claimed that Fif is using his life story as inspiration for the Power series without permission. The additional assault claims have added an additional $300 mill to the suit. Holland has alleged that Fif has tried to intimidate him into retracting his lawsuit. “The alleged conduct—Jackson ‘came to plaintiff home and neighborhood’—took place over a year before this Action was commenced. Around late July or early August 2021, Plaintiff can’t remember exactly your honor, but defendant Jackson decided to come to plaintiff neighborhood, not once, but twice. This claim is thus untimely. The assault claim should therefore be dismissed for failure to state a claim because the First Amended Complaint is devoid of any allegations to support such a claim against Jackson,” Fif’s motion states.

50 Cent Continues Trolling Diddy

Away from Fif’s legal woes, he has spent plenty of time trolling Diddy. Last weekend, Fif posted a picture of Diddy dancing with his trousers around his ankles. “👀what kinda batty boy party is this! 🤨Bumba clot !!!! Why ya tink I don’t go to diss?” Fif wrote as a caption. It’s a major turn around from Fif. Previously, he had appeared to show some compassion for Diddy. “Damn I hope he alright if you cool with him check on him. All joke a side this is a lot,” Fif wrote.

It came after a third lawsuit was filed against Diddy. The suit was filed just hours before the expiration of New York’s Adult Survivors Act on Thanksgiving. In the suit, an anonymous woman claims she went on a date with Diddy in 1991 while attending Syracuse. However, she alleges that Diddy drugged her during dinner, before filming them while he raped her. Furthermore, she claims that she was later made aware that the video of the assault had been shown to and viewed by multiple people. The wave of allegations against Diddy has come after his former long-time partner Cassie released a series of horrific allegations against him in her own suit.
