If anything, it’s like a fusion of the tempo and drum pattern that dominated Die Lit with the goth aesthetics of Whole Lotta Red. As such, we can’t really take a guess at what previous style this new release will imitate, but we hope that it’s none of the above and that Carti comes through with something new.
In addition to this new hype for I AM MUSIC, this follows previous promises and timeline changes in his career. For example, when Playboi Carti and the rest of Opium had to reschedule their European tour dates, he said that his album was coming soon, which we now have at least some confirmation of thanks to DJ Akademiks. It’s actually funny that there are a lot of similarities between this and WLR: a winter/Christmastime drop, DJ Akademiks with the inside scoop, and it doesn’t look like his aesthetics have changed all that much since then. We’d guess that the newest thing about this new release is that the “FE!N” MC will use more of the deep and warbly delivery he debuted on that song.
Meanwhile, as fans, we all have to be ready for this whole thing to fall apart at any second– and to be cognizant of his alleged abhorrent behavior. After all, with so many teases, apparent delays, and unfulfilled promises, fans are too hardened to let their guard down. The snappy bounce that Metro provided makes the song easy to dance to which the artists and Flair himself do in the music video. Metro Boomin’s production has been a large part of 21 Savage’s career since it began. This song comes from their collaborative album Savage Mode II and is the epitome of their collaborative sound. Metro Boomin’s production on this song features a dark piano melody and an eerie vocal loop. These aspects are commonplace in his work with 21 Savage and pair well with his dark lyrics. Multiple other trap artists have used this type of sound in their work but Metro’s techniques have taken it to a different level due to the way he layers his sounds together. He’s made the sound accessible to larger audiences without comprising key aspects of it.

Pink Friday 2 is Nicki Minaj’s first album in 5 years and she didn’t hold anything back. Alongside the length of the project, it also features numerous high-profile appearances from other rappers. Drake, Future, J. Cole, Lil Wayne, and of course Lil Uzi Vert all appear on the project. The album doesn’t sport any features from any of Nicki’s major female contemporaries. Today, NLE Choppa appeared in court in Broward County for his drug and gun case. Back in 2021, the rapper and other masked men were caught hopping a fence at a tow yard, and later pulled over by police. Officers found two loaded guns in the vehicle, as well as a backpack containing marijuana and Xanax. He was arrested for burglary, drug possession, and carrying a concealed firearm. At the time, he admitted the backpack was his, but claimed he wasn’t aware of the guns in the vehicle.
The 21-year-old pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor charges and received a sentence of one year of probation. Per their plea deal, prosecutors dropped his gun charge, and reduced the others to misdemeanors. In addition to probation, NLE Choppa will have to complete 40 hours of community service and a firearm safety class. His probation won’t stop him from working, however, as he’s free to travel both domestically and internationally.

Shortly after his 2021 arrest, NLE Choppa claimed that police planted the drugs on him. He suggested that he was targeted because he stands for “something deep.” He vented on Twitter, insisting he was set up. “During this arrest, I was setup,” he wrote. “Substances were planted on me that I don’t consume/use/own, my name was lied upon, and I was even mistreated in the process … This case will be beat and I will walk a free man, remember it’s innocent until proven guilty not guilty until proven innocent.”

An initial cursory scroll through the #WeWantCardi trending topic would suggest that the Bardigang are relishing in the perception that Pink Friday 2 is “flopping” (their word, not mine). Some are claiming that Invasion Of Privacy is superior to Pink Friday 2 — and Cardi, the superior rapper — going out of their way to stream Invasion Of Privacy and (seemingly) prevent Pink Friday 2 from ascending the charts, or at least revive Invasion Of Privacy so Cardi is right next to Minaj on the charts.
According to the X fan account @CardiBCaviar, the goal was to “bring Invasion Of Privacy to No. 1 on iTunes,” and as of this writing, it had reentered the top 10 in the US (per Chart Data). See some of the posts below.

Joe Budden has had a lot to say about Christian rapper Dee-1 as of late. According to Budden, the 34-year-old has gone about things the wrong way, and needs to be careful about who he calls out. He further claims that while his message is positive, he should consider taking a different approach.
“I don’t know him, I’m not trying to slight him — I’m just sayin’ you get qualified first. Tell us who you are first before you decide to just go calling name after name after name,” Budden explained during a recent podcast. “I’m telling you as somebody that knows the history of the people that you speaking about. Leave n***as alone — especially n***as that will shoot your Christian a**.” Dee-1 heard Budden’s criticism, responding by telling the personality that he’s not fulfilling his higher purpose.
“You have a purpose that’s currently being unfulfilled, and that purpose comes from God […] God doesn’t call the qualified, God qualifies the called,” he explains in a new clip. He goes on to claim that he’s put together something of a diss track about Budden, though he ultimately decided not to release it. “I prepared a song about you,” Dee-1 says. “The song is done, but my wisdom told me that if I put this out, because of the way I went in, that it would distract from the overall purpose, which is to get us to all be better together […] When I wasn’t replying to you, you continued to speak about me; now that I’m saying something, let’s see what you say now.”
