Ashanti and Nelly originally dated on and off from 2003 to 2014. As for why their relationship didn’t work at the time, Ashanti explained to the New York Post: “There were good times, and there were times where it was hard . . . just traveling so much and living in two different states. Our careers were, like, taking off back then. It was really hard to try and just do everything.” She also discussed the idea of marriage: “There have been situations that were very, very close to that. I just want it to be the right person. My parents have been married for, like, 40-plus years. So, you know, that’s kind of like the template for me.” Be on the lookout for further updates on Ashanti and Nelly on HotNewHipHop.

Yeat Teases New Song On Live, Reveals Length Of Upcoming Album

Yeat has previewed a new song while streaming on Instagram. Yeat played the new track, complete with a pretty fire beat switch. It’s likely that the song will appear on Yeat’s upcoming album. Speaking of the album, he also revealed that the album will be a 25-track juggernaut. Yeat announced the track count on his Instagram post that simply said “25 song”.

The life cycle of LyfëStyle has been a fascinating one. It was expected to be released over the summer but was delayed indefinitely. It’s now unclear when the album will drop, with some sources saying it will be out as late as December 2024. Yeat himself has not put out anything confirming when the album will be out.

Yeat Used Young Thug As His Yearbook Quote

Back in August, Yeat went viral for his alleged yearbook quote. According to images shared online, his yearbook quote is lyrics attributed to “Thugga”. Except the quote is wrong. Or at the very least, it’s not one continuous lyric. According to the image, Yeat submitted “I got hundreds on top of hunnids. That blue cheese, NOT ranch.” But this appears to a mashup of two lyrics. The first part of the quote is from “Problem“. Meanwhile, the second half of the quote is from “Homie”. The two lyrics in full are “I got hundreds sittin’ on hundreds, that blue cheese, I’m not ranchin’” and “I got blue cheese on me, all hundreds/Blue cheese no ranch.”

However, that’s not the only thing people were reacting to in the image. While most people have a very standardized yearbook photo. Meanwhile, he is draped in tartan and wearing ski goggles, which is certainly a look. However, the combination of the irregular photo and the weird lyric has led many people to declare that the image is faked. Furthermore, the image has been circulating since late May, around when Yeat and Young Thug collaborated on “My Wrist”. Do you think it’s real?

Was Doja Cat Supposed To Be On Nicki Minaj’s ‘Cowgirl’ Song?

As Doja Cat makes her way around the country with special guests Doechii and Ice Spice, she’s winning over skeptics online and in person. Unfortunately, she’s hit a snag. On Saturday, December 9, Nicki Minaj decided to celebrate the release of her long-awaited album Pink Friday 2 virtually with fans. Usually, Nicki would head over to Queen Radio for the informal chat, but with that no longer an option, she turned to online broadcaster Stationhead.

Barbz wanted to glimpse into Nicki’s mind during the stream as they asked about collaborators on the body of work. But when one viewer suggested Nicki link back up with Doja Cat, she revealed that she already tried.

According to Nicki, Doja passed on the opportunity to join forces again on her album. “She passed on it. She said she don’t think I like her,” she said. “I guess our record-breaking No. 1 wasn’t proof.” Fans now believe Doja Cat was originally supposed to appear on Nicki’s song “Cowgirl.” Currently, Lourdiz is the featured artist on the song.

However, while performing in Omaha, Nebraska, Doja Cat showed her support, screaming, “Thank you, Nicki, I love you! Pink Friday 2!” So, people online are confused: Is there a silent feud going on between Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj?

Doja Cat Warns White People To “Watch Their Mouths” During Concert: Watch

Doja Cat is currently killing it on her Scarlet tour across the United States, which has brought us no shortage of great, wild, and notable moments. Most recently, she prefaced her performance of the track “Ain’t S**t” with a bit of a warning to the Caucasian people in the crowd. “Watch your mouth if you’re white,” the rapper and singer expressed right before she broke into the chorus, which contains the use of the N-word. Of course, this is notable given her own controversial experience with racism accusations, but nonetheless a cheeky way to address a prevailing issue with white people’s consumption of hip-hop in social settings.

Furthermore, it’s exactly the kind of aloof acknowledgement of it that we’d expect from Doja Cat. Her charisma and character on stage are quite infectious to witness, especially as her repertoire and range of performances increases. For example, promoters announced the Los Angeles native as a headliner for Portugal’s Rock In Rio Lisbon festival. With these and many more exciting shows down the line, we’re sure that she will only continue to establish herself as a dominant stage presence and as a must-see live act.

Doja Cat Issues A Warning To Her White Fans In The Crowd: Watch

However, it’s not like the 28-year-old doesn’t hold herself to these high standards, too. In fact, she’s always trying to improve and give the best effort she can to loyal fans. “I’m so f***in sorry,” Doja Cat wrote in an Instagram Story shortly after a show, one that apparently she disliked enough with to apologize for. “New Jersey I don’t know what the f**k that was. I’m really not happy with my energy tonight.”

It’s unclear what the reason behind this disappointment is, but fans were pretty receptive to this overall. Meanwhile, rumors swirled earlier this week that she turned down a spot on Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday 2. Whether that’s true or not, we’re sure that the future will hold plenty more amazing features to make up for this potential missed opportunity. Mariah Carey, Ariana Grande & Jennifer Hudson Surprised Fans With A Performance Of ‘Oh Santa!’ During The Singer’s Holiday Tour

Brenda Lee’sRockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” may be No. 1 song in America, but Mariah Carey is still the Queen of Christmas. With just a few weeks before Carey’s holiday, Carey has to pack as much holiday cheer into her live shows as possible. On Saturday, December 9, she took her Merry Christmas One And All Tour to Madison Square Garden in New York City.

So far, the setlist for the tour is filled with fans’ favorite holiday tracks, including Carey’s record-setting song “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” However, yesterday’s show offered a little surprise. As Carey prepared to sing “Oh Santa!” she was joined onstage by EGOT holder Jennifer Hudson and Ariana Grande. The powerhouse trio spiced things up, delivering the remix version of a song initially released in 2020.

Following the performance, Carey took to Instagram to thank her collaborators for making a cheerful cameo during the show, writing, “Grateful to have the gorgeous and talented Christmas angels Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson join me on stage tonight at Madison Square Garden for our song ‘Oh Santa! (Remix)’ 🎅🏻☃🎄❤❤❤.”

Kanye West Goes Shoeless To Miami Night Club To Close Out Art Basel

Kanye West’s style choices continue to cause an uproar, even if in this case, it’s just because of how uncomfortable it looks. Moreover, he was recently spotted in Miami, specifically the night club E11EVEN, early Sunday morning (December 10) at around 2:30AM to participate in the closing Art Basel Miami Beach celebrations. When the Yeezy mogul arrived with his crew, he pulled up with socks– no shoes– to the function, and seemed to blend in with everyone else. Given that he wore a white scarf around his head and went by pretty unnoticed at a back VIP table, it’s clear that, just like for most of the year, he didn’t really want to be seen. The Chicago rapper and his companions were there for less than an hour.

Furthermore, there actually might be an interesting reason for this short stay, according to an alleged Page Six insider. They posited that Bianca Censori only let Kanye West go out for a certain amount of time, which is a curious claim about their dynamic. If you didn’t know, the two faced breakup rumors last month, but it seems they sidestepped all of that. Their relationship has been a rollercoaster to witness, but hopefully things are more stable than they seem just based off scandalous headlines.

Kanye West At Paris Fashion Week 2022

However, we can’t forget about another important reason as to why Kanye West is in Miami. Apparently, he and Ty Dolla $ign are throwing a listening party in the city for their new album on Tuesday (December 12) at midnight. Of course, we say “apparently” because various other attempts to perform or play this project fell through. It seems closer than ever, but considering all of Ye’s public controversies and concerning attitudes, it’s still anyone’s guess.

Meanwhile, he also teased some new music recently, so perhaps the collaborative LP is really around the corner. But this is far from the first time that we’ve heard this from the 46-year-old. As such, we’ll just wait until we have the final product, and until he pulls up shoeless to this listening event. Check out pictures of the Miami outing in the “Via” link below. Nicki Minaj & 50 Cent Collab Coming Soon, Queen Of Rap Dropping Four New “Pink Friday 2” Songs

As the weekend comes to a close, first reactions to Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 continue to pour in. For the most part, The Barbz seem impressed with their fearless leader, who found a beautiful balance between vulnerable venting in her lyrics, and relying on clever (sometimes raunchy) wordplay to keep us laughing. Minaj has been busy preparing for her upcoming tour now that the LP is finally here, but according to recent Twitter posts, she’s not quite done delivering treats yet.

On Friday (December 8), the Queen of Rap responded to a tweet naming Complex‘s two favourite songs from the project, “Beep Beep” and “Everybody” featuring Lil Uzi Vert. “Well wait ’til they hear Schfifty Schent verse on it next week. #GagCity, we here,” Minaj wrote, causing a stir among hip-hop heads. She and the New Yorker have never before joined forces on a track, meaning PF2 is delivering even more than just her first song with J. Cole, which has already emerged as a fan favourite.

Pink Friday 2 is Here, But That Doesn’t Mean Nicki Minaj is Done Giving Gifts Quite Yet

When the Power producer wished Nicki a happy birthday on Saturday (December 9), she was more worried about demanding he submit his work than thanking Curtis Jackson for his kind words. As Yahoo Entertainment notes, the mother of one has promised that a total of four more songs will be coming, including collaborations with Keyshia Cole and Monica, whom she recently went Live with. “Next week #GagCity welcomes a new edition every day beginning Monday or Tuesday,” Minaj tweeted. “Every day until Friday, you’ll get an [additional] song that completes my fave body of work to date. 4 more songs.”

Fif doesn’t put out music at the rate he did in his younger years, but still, the New Yorker is a name high in demand lately. Earlier this fall he helped 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne out with their long-awaited Welcome 2 Collegrove LP, and now, it sounds like he’ll be blowing us away on whatever Nicki Minaj is cooking up next for her Pink Friday 2 rollout. Read more about that at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

The Weeknd “Fortnite” Flash Mob Erupts In Times Square

In honor of his appearance in Fortnite yesterday, a group of people dressed like The Weeknd recently appeared in Times Square for a flash mob, showing off their moves for a crowd of over 15,000 onlookers. He was the first headliner for Fortnite’s new game, “Fortnite Festival,” which allows players to perform in the game with friends. In the past, artists like Eminem, Travis Scott, and more have also performed in the game.

The flash mob featured roughly 300 people, who all rocked outfits based on The Weeknd’s in-game skins and did emotes from the game. The skins are currently available for purchase with V bucks. His in-game performance certainly stirred up quite a bit of buzz around the game, with countless fans jumping on to see the show.

The Weeknd “Fortnite” Flash Mob

His performance in Fortnite was only the cherry on top of an already wildly successful year for The Weeknd. At the end of November, his Spotify streaming stats of 2023 were revealed, and are nothing short of impressive. Over the year, the artist garnered 12.8 billion streams on the platform alone. This included 285.2 million different fans around the world, who spent 721.7 million hours total listening to his music. He’s also done staggering numbers with his After Hours Till Dawn tour, which broke a major record last month.

He grossed $158.1 million across 30 shows on the European leg of the tour, selling over 1.6 million tickets. He even managed to make an impact on the economy of Columbia with his performance there in October. According to a local newspaper, they saw “a considerable movement,” with the show generating around 1500 jobs. What do you think of The Weeknd lookalikes taking over Times Square with a flash mob? Yasiin Bey, F.K.A. Mos Def, Gives Andre 3000 Flute Track A Rap Verse At Dubai Show

Yasiin Bey, formerly known as Mos Def, is one of hip-hop’s all-time greats, a quality that he keeps on proving. Moreover, he recently held a show in Dubai on Saturday (December 9), and he had a very special surprise for the crowd, who seemed to be having an amazing time. At one point of the concert, the other half of Black Star began to rap over the opening track to André 3000’s new album, New Blue Sun. If you didn’t already know, this project is entirely instrumental and steeped in New Age, spiritual jazz, and ambient traditions. As such, it’s quite the treat to hear one rap legend give his own unique take, via a melodic and killer verse, to the new lane that another rap legend ventures into.

Furthermore, Yasiin Bey is not the first to engage in this kind of tribute and genre fusion. For example, Lupe Fiasco also rapped over New Blue Sun‘s opener, which gave Andre 3000’s song some uniquely creative and expertly rapped lyrics to go along with it. This was one point of contention for many in the hip-hop community: why isn’t one of the best rappers alive rapping?! That’s a debate we won’t engage in here, but perhaps it’s more important to celebrate how this new work is clearly still inspiring rappers left and right.

Yasiin Bey Adds Verse To A New Blue Sun Cut: Watch

Meanwhile, there are other rap exponents in addition to Yasiin Bey and Lupe Fiasco who think that New Blue Sun holds some real weight in the game. One curious and interesting suggestion came from Paul Wall, who gave 3 Stacks major props for his new effort. However, he posited that a chopped-and-screwed version of the improvisational LP could actually be quite compelling and exciting. It certainly wasn’t the first thing that came to mind when we heard “Andre’s flute album,” but who are we to judge?

On that note, though, what do you think of Bey’s verse on this song? Where do you fall on the debate around whether this is an interesting or worthwhile thing for MCs to do? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments down below. Also, stay up to date on HNHH for the latest news and updates on Yasiin Bey and Andre 3000.

Soulja Boy Laughts At Charleston White After YouTuber Gets Jumped At Show

Soulja Boy had a very simple reaction to the news that YouTuber Charleston White had been jumped at a recent show. The rapper simply laughed for several minutes when informed about the incident. He went as far as to call a friend and add them to the livestream so that they could laugh about it as well.

Soulja isn’t the biggest fan of White by any stretch of the imagination. Back in July, Soulja went off at White after the YouTuber maced him. “If I knew that you n-ggas was gon’ get on the internet, talk all of this gangsta shit, all of this crazy shit, and reach in your girl purse and start spraying pepper spray in the air running, n-gga, like it’s a trail, n-gga, running with pepper spray. What the fuck? You n-ggas so scared of me, y’all n-ggas gotta pull pepper spray out your bitch’s purse? Running with pepper spray? What the fuck? I thought you n-ggas was gangstas. N-ggas pulling out pepper spray and doing the dashboard. N-gga, stop talking about Big Draco. N-gga, stop saying my name, n-gga. Got you n-ggas pulling out pepper spray and doing the dash, n-gga.”

Meanwhile, Adin Ross made a surprise appearance on White’s livestream this week. The popular Kick personality stopped by to talk about White getting jumped at a recent show. White explained that the jumping incident came about because he accused a pair of hecklers of being a “nephew and an uncle who f-ck each other”. This led the two men to rush the stage. However, White claims he hit the “uncle” with a flower vase that was standing on stage.

Ross appears to find the story very funny, adding “Unc, I miss you bro” to White. “I miss you two nephew,” White responds to Ross. It appears that the two have healed the pretty nasty rift between them from earlier this year. At heart, they are very much birds of a feather and harbor very similar ideologies and fanbases. Check out the full video below.
