Usher Calls Rihanna A “Queen” In Response To Her Praise

During a recent interview with E! News, Rihanna was asked what kind of advice she could offer Usher for his upcoming Super Bowl Halftime Show. According to her, however, there are no tips she can offer the R&B icon that he doesn’t already know. Her complimentary response prompted an equally kind comment from Usher, who dubbed RiRi a “queen.”

“Hell no, I can’t give Usher no advice,” she told the outlet earlier this week. “Usher is a natural, he’s a legend, he’s been doing this since he’s a teenager. He is made for that show.” He shared a Tweet in response to the compliment. “Real recognize real,” he wrote. “Thank U Queen @rihanna.”

Usher Says “Real Recognize Real”

During an interview with CBS Mornings in September, he discussed the honor of being selected to perform at the event. “Thirty years ago I made a commitment to offer my best. And here 30 years later now, it’s being rewarded with one of the most prestigious performances and stages anybody could ever play on,” he explained. “This is a moment that I’ve waited my entire life for and I am not coming to disappoint. This is going to be a celebration.

While the artist surely has a lot to look forward to, he also recently celebrated the finale of his Vegas residency. He reflected on his career in a Tweet, which featured a clip of him discussing his goals with Trevor Nelson in 2004. “You know what, because I am such a theatrical artist, I would love to be in a space– If I did decide to go to Las Vegas, it would be the most phenomenal thing you’ve ever seen in your life,” he says in the clip. “I saw it then…look at me now,” he captioned it. Method Man Accused Of Physically Attacking Model Jayden Steele

Recently, model Jayden Steele took to social media to explain why countless people in the entertainment industry hesitate to come forward with their stories of being abused by powerful people. She began by explaining that she herself was “physically attacked by a very large rapper in the 90s.” She described how she decided not to push for justice at the time because the attorneys she worked for represented the head of the rapper’s label.

“This man attacked me, I defended myself. 10 squad cars were called to the hotel because we tore that b*tch up,” she recalled. “There wasn’t one police report written about the incident. I had five officers come up to my room and take a statement. Not one police report was written.” It’s unclear what prompted the alleged physical altercation.

Jayden Steele Confirms Alleged Attacker’s Identity

“They told me to pick my battles,” she explained. While nowhere in the video did Steele disclose the name of her alleged assailant, fans speculated in her comments section. One commenter suggested that it could be Method Man, to which she simply replied, “Yes.” The Wu-Tang Clan performer has yet to respond to the allegations. He is far from the only person to be hit with allegations as of late, however.

Earlier this month, actor Christan Keyes came forward to share his story of being sexually harassed. He claims that his assailant was a “powerful” man in the industry, but failed to disclose his name. According to him, however, he has recordings of his interactions with the individual, which he plans to eventually hand over to authorities. “The wonderful thing about confidentiality agreements and non-disclosure agreements is that they can’t prevent you from turning all of those things over to the police,” he explained. What do you think of model Jayden Steele coming forward to accuse Method Man of attacking her in the 90s? Nicki Minaj Prompts Stephen Colbert With A Rap Battle And Ends Up Stunned By His Response

In the wake of the release of her new album Pink Friday 2, Nicki Minaj is doing plenty of interviews and making the rounds discussing and performing material from the project. That included an appearance on The Late Show alongside host Stephen Colbert. The pair have crossed paths in the past and spawned funny results so it’s no surprise that they’re once again going viral. This time, she tries to queue him into a freestyle and ends up stunned by what he delivers.

In her freestyle, Nicki flirts with Stephen a bit cracking a joke about how she could marry him. But the married host is prepared, delivering a bar right back at her that leaves Nicki’s jaw dropped. In the comments of the video, fans hype up Colbert for his response. “his wife home like ‘yea that’s what I thought’” one of the top comments reads. “This how I need my man. Nicki Minaj And Steven Colbert

Given the hype for Pink Friday 2 leading up to the album, it’s no surprise that the record has performed so well commercially. It shot to the very top of the Billboard 200 in its first week. But it didn’t just debut at the top spot, it absolutely lapped the competition. The album debuted with over 200k sales in its first week putting it among the 10 biggest first week sales totals of the year.

14 songs from the album also made their way into the Hot 100 this week. Three of them, including “Everybody” with Lil Uzi Vert and “Needle” with Drake landed inside the top 50. That’s particularly impressive for this time of year when the majority of the top 50 on the chart is occupied by Christmas songs. Nicki also scored her first-ever chart-topper on the Hot Gospel Songs chart. She collaborated with gospel singer Tasha Cobbs Leonard on the track “Blessings” which sits atop the chart this week. The RIAA certified it platinum, denoting over a million copies sold in the United States alone. The feat undoubtedly serves as a testament to its widespread resonance among rap enthusiasts. Beyond the American borders, its reverberating impact was evident, securing a gold certification in the UK by the BPI.

Despite the absence of precise global sales figures, The Infamous attained international recognition, resonating with audiences worldwide. Furthermore, its unflinching narrative, propelled by Havoc’s evocative production and Prodigy’s lyricism, transcended geographical boundaries. II” emerged as the magnum opus, hailed not only as a standout track on The Infamous but also as a quintessential anthem within the hip-hop genre. These singles, coupled with tracks like “Give Up the Goods (Just Step),” “Temperature’s Rising,” and “Eye For A Eye (Your Beef Is Mines),” contributed to the album’s multifaceted allure. However, each track elucidated the stark realities of inner-city living, cementing Mobb Deep’s status as purveyors of authentic street narratives. As a result, The Infamous transcended mere musical boundaries, leaving an enduring legacy that reverberates in contemporary hip-hop. Its influence continues to ripple through the genre, inspiring subsequent generations of artists who draw from its unfiltered storytelling and raw, unapologetic delivery.

Carmelo Anthony “Throwback” Performance Blows Jadakiss Away

On a recent joint appearance on 7pm in Brooklyn, Carmelo Anthony found a way to wow his close friend Jadakiss. As Jadakiss gave Usher his flowers for his recently-ended Vegas residency, he also mentioned that he still fondly remembered his time working with Usher. A moment later, Anthony was dropping a perfect cover of Kiss’ verse from that collaboration, “Throwback”. “He killed it!” Jadakiss exclaimed once Anthony had powered through the verse. You can watch Melo’s impromptu performance below. Let us know in the comments what you thought of Melo’s performance.

Jadakiss and Melo have been friends for most of Anthony’s professional basketball career. After Melo retired in May, Kiss was sure to honor his close friend. As Jadakiss began his performance at an Air Jordan event in July, he played audio from the 2003 NBA Draft, specifically the announcement of Melo going third overall to the Nuggets. Melo was in the crowd and was evidentially touched by the unorthodox shoutout. Kiss has also referred to Anthony as his “little brother” on numerous occasions during their friendship. Furthermore, Kiss’ son previously called his dad the “Melo of the [music] industry”, drawing yet another parallel between the pair.

However, Melo isn’t the only one with hip-hop connections. While walking through the crowd at Madison Square Garden during an It’s All A Blur tour stop, Drake spotted a familiar face. The Toronto rapper bounded over to embrace and greet Kiyan Anthony, Melo’s son. Furthermore, evidence from social media indicated that the pair had grabbed a picture together after the show.

Kiyan is a four-star recruit in the class of 2025. He is ranked #45 by 247 Sports and #52 by ESPN. He currently has a wealth of collegiate offers, including his father’s alma mater Syracuse. Additionally, Carmelo Anthony revealed in post-retirement interviews that he had intended to retire earlier, but that his son encouraged him to keep playing. Kiyan’s other offers are from Bryant, George Mason, Manhattan, and Memphis.

How Many Kids Does Playboi Carti Have?

Playboi Carti returned with his third single in a matter of weeks on Tuesday. “H00DBYAIR,” shared guerilla-style via the Opium Instagram account, provided a glimpse into Carti’s next musical leap in his follow-up to Whole Lotta Red. However, it also shed insight into Playboi Carti’s personal life, namely his kids. While we all knew that he shared a child with Iggy Azalea, the rapper revealed that he also welcomed a daughter earlier this year. Below, we’re diving into what we know about Playboi Carti’s kids.

Onyx: Carti’s Son With Iggy Azalea

His first child, Onyx, is the son he shares with Australian rapper Iggy Azalea. Their relationship has been publicly tumultuous, with Azalea expressing dissatisfaction with Carti’s parenting involvement. She has taken to social media to voice her grievances, particularly highlighting instances where Carti allegedly prioritized his career and social engagements over their son. Azalea criticized Carti for his absence during significant family moments, like Christmas, and accused him of neglecting his paternal duties. Carti has assured fans that he remains active in his son’s life, acknowledging Onyx on his latest record. Additionally, Onyx appeared in his new documentary that surfaced online.

Yves: Carti’s Daughter

Most recently, the rapper unveiled the news that he has a daughter. Although little is known about her, he did confirm that his newborn is named Yves in his latest song. “I was twenty-four when I had lil’ Onyx/ Then I had a daughter, I had a daughter too/ Twenty-seven when I had Yves/ Now I can finally sleep,” he raps on his single. Fans later believed that his daughter’s name was incorrectly spelled Eve. However, he took to Instagram to share a Music-style post that corrected the spelling.

This stands as the first occasion in which Playboi Carti has revealed that he has a daughter. However, as Complex points out, the rapper was arrested earlier this year regarding a domestic dispute with police describing the alleged victim as his “pregnant girlfriend.” It should be noted that his attorney denied that there was truth behind these claims. “Mr. Carter was falsely accused,” Steel said at the time. “Pursuant to my communications with the Fulton County District Attorney‘s Office, this case will be dismissed without any prosecution or litigation.”

Sexyy Red’s “SkeeYee” Crowned Song Of The Year By “Rolling Stone,” She Responds

Sexyy Red has been having a truly tremendous year in music. Overall, it all started with the song “Pound Town.” Furthermore, eventually, it went into the song “SkeeYee” and even “Hellcats SRTs.” These songs are all massive and they are making a huge splash in the clubs, cars, and even sporting events. We even crowned her as Hip-Hop’s MVP for 2023. The reason for this is quite simple. She has had the best year out of anyone in the entire genre. Which is an impressive feat considering the great year some artists have had.

Now that we are almost at the end of the year, numerous publications are putting out there songs and album lists. These lists are always highly-debated and it is rare that anyone comes to a consensus. However, Sexyy Red’s “SkeeYee” is a track that everyone can agree is a pure banger. With that said, it should come as very little surprise that a publication like Rolling Stone would give the song an honor. Just yesterday, they named the song as the best hip-hop track of the year. For some, this may be divisive. For others, it is the correct choice.

Sexyy Red Accepts The Crown

Subsequently, upon learning this news, Sexyy took to social media where she had a very simple message: “Okayyyy.” While many were trying to say that this is the downfall of hip-hop, others felt like this was a celebratory occasion. A relatively new artist got song of the year, and that should be celebrated. Quite frankly, Sexyy is proving that hip-hop is, indeed, in a good place. She is making fun music and she is unapologetically herself. That may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it is, in fact, resonating.

Let us know what you think of Rolling Stone and its choice, in the comments section down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will be sure to keep you informed on all of your favorite artists and their upcoming projects.

Andre 3000 In The Studio With Some Underground Rap Stars New And Old

Andre 3000 just released his new album New Blue Sun but he doesn’t appear to be done with new material yet. He’s apparently already working on new material and took part in an absolutely star-studded studio session in Los Angeles overnight. According to HipHopDX, he was spotted in some photos shared by former Organized Konfusion MC Pharoahe Monch. But the two veteran MCs are far from the only stars in attendance.

Elsewhere in the pictures fans spotted legendary Beastie Boy Mike D. Eagle-eyed fans also noticed that Detroit underground rap sensation Quelle Chris is also in attendance. The group have reportedly assembled to work with Keyon Harrold, a notorious jazz trumpeter with a pretty impressive roster of collaborations already under his belt. What exactly the nature of the project is and the level of everyone’s involvement is unclear. Check out the photos of Andre and various others in the studio below.

Andre 3000 Shares The Studio With Some Stars

Andre 3000’s new album divided fans and critics. The project boldly chose to depart from rap music entirely instead choosing to focus on ambient jazz with Andre prominently playing flute all over the album. Many fans were disappointed with the choice after waiting so long for him to return and expecting a rap album. In Andre’s defense he announced the project ahead of time and confirmed that it would have “no bars.” He’s also spoken at length in interviews about why he didn’t feel like it was the right time for him to make a new rap album.

Despite fan reservations, the album performed surprisingly well commercially. It sold 24K copies in its first week, far more than almost any other instrumental jazz albums. One of the songs from the record also spent a week on the Hot 100. He actually broke the record for longest song to ever chart on the Hot 100 with the track. What do you think of Andre 3000 being back in the studio working on new music so quickly after releasing his debut album? Let us know in the comment section below.
