Future, Metro Boomin, Travis Scott & Playboi Carti Join Forces For “TYPE S**T” Music Video: Watch

Everyone’s favorite new banger “TYPE S**T” off of Future and Metro Boomin’s collaborative album WE DON’T TRUST YOU is shaping up to be one of the biggest hits of the year. Moreover, the Travis Scott and Playboi Carti-assisted cut just got a visual treatment courtesy of directors Gunner Stahl and LouieKnows, and it’s a pretty grimy, grounded, and simply effective approach. All four artists flex their wild fits, cash, and luxury cars for the cameras, hitting up a strip club and driving around a city at night. Also, there are some other artist and producer cameos throughout the music video, as you can see folks like Southside and Ken Carson pop out for cameo appearances.

Furthermore, this continues a lot of hype around the song that began when all parties involved started teasing it heavily on social media. This led up to a wild Rolling Loud L.A. performance earlier this month sans Playboi Carti, but Future, Metro Boomin, and Travis Scott still rocked the crowd. This is definitely one of the songs to have resonated with fans the most off of WE DON’T TRUST YOU, either thanks to its collaborative nature or the classically menacing Metro beat. Either way, we’re sure that we’ll be hearing it ring off at the aux, clubs, sporting events, and much more throughout 2024.

However, there’s also a lot of discussion about the more combative and speculative moments on WE DON’T TRUST YOU. “LIKE THAT” is about a few hours in the trend cycle away from becoming a classic verse of the 2020s, said verse coming from Kendrick Lamar and his Big Three-stomping lyricism. Many fans are hoping that Drake and J. Cole respond to these disses in some way, and they want more context and understanding as to what it all means for their competition and for the rap game at large. Maybe hearing one of them speak on it would paint a more complete picture, but Future and Metro Boomin have plenty of reason to indulge.

Supposedly, both of them have beef with Drake in particular, and dissed him on WE DON’T TRUST YOU. Metro’s issues with him are well-documented, whereas his “I Serve The Base” partner is rumored to be feuding with him over a girl. Nas Shares New Music Video For “I Love This Feeling”

Last year, Nas concluded his incredibly prolific and critically acclaimed series of collaborations with producer Hit-Boy. Across just 4 years, the pair teamed up to drop 6 albums in two different trilogies. One of which was King’s Disease, the second edition of which came with tons of features and even some high-profile crossovers with artists like Eminem and Ms. Lauryn Hill. The final two releases from the pair were the albums Magic 2 and Magic 3. Each of which features one absolutely standout feature with 50 Cent popping up on Magic 2. While Lil Wayne makes an appearance on Magic 3.

Now Nas has shared some new visuals from a fan-favorite deep cut on Magic 3. The track is called “I Love This Feeling” and it’s the third most popular song on the record according to Spotify streams where it’s cleared 2 million. The new music video has only been out for a few hours and is already racking up tens of thousands of views on YouTube. The highly distinct visuals feature a variety of scenes like Nas driving around in his car, teaching a classroom, and playing chess. They’re all presented with a camera that’s near-constantly in motion. Check out the new visuals he shared below.

Earlier this month, Nas shared some big news for rap fans who also enjoy television. He’s working on the development of a new series. The show is meant to tell the story of the first-ever black grandmaster in chess. One of the producer’s he’s partnering with for the show has worked extensively alongside 50 Cent on his various Power series.

Later this year Nas will take the stage with a headlining slot at the 2024 Roots Picnic. Lil Wayne and Andre 3000, fresh off his new ambient jazz album, will serve as the other two headliners. Tyla & Travis Scott Get Steamy & Drenched In Visuals For “Water (Remix)”

Tyla’s career is on the fast track toward super stardom. Some may argue she is already there and they definitely make a compelling argument. While she still needs to develop a more robust catalog, she has proven so far that she can write some catchy amapiano, Afropop, and Afro R&B records. Of course, everyone is drawn to the song that really put her on the map, “Water.” It was released at the perfect time last year (July 28), and it looks to have another big outing this summer as well. What will also bolster it is the new music video for “Water (Remix)” featuring Travis Scott alongside Tyla.

The alternate version dropped about four months later, and while it is not as popular as its predecessor, Travis definitely does not take away from its allure. We appreciate the subtle changes for his appearance like the heavier drums and auto-tuned background vocals. It is certainly a justified remix in our books. Now, it is further solidified (or rather liquified) with a music video.

There is some fun and sensual direction behind the camera from Nabil Elderkin. He uses the dark blue color scheme, water, and some sort of divider to excellent effect. Tyla’s debut self-titled album hits streaming on Friday March 22 with features from Becky G, Tems, Gunna, SKillibeng, and Kelvin Momo.

While not everyone’s a fan of the song, there are plenty of people discussing the fiery, well-composed, and often provocative nature of its music video. Moreover, there’s a lot of scantily-clad outfit changes, suggestive posing, and attitude through both the body language and the lyrics that take things in a pretty lewd direction. It’s not a surprising move considering this catalog, but one that still aims to spark conversation regardless and, hopefully for their team, get more and more people excited for this upcoming LP.

Furthermore, the Bronx rapper is also dealing with some fallout thanks to a debate provoked by her comments on relationships. In fact, it doesn’t really have much to do with the relationship part, as she simply just said that she believes in a couple splitting all expenses 50/50. Rather, Cardi B remarked that she’s “not a feminist anymore,” and this is what caused a lot of people to push back and demand a more elaborate explanation. However, in all likelihood, she probably didn’t mean this as a direct attack on feminism as a whole, and it might just be a generalized comment for this specific relationship situation.

Kanye West & Ty Dolla $ign Showcase Violent Imagery In CGI Music Video For “CARNIVAL”

Since VULTURES 1 by Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign was beginning to be rolled out, we have received four sets of visuals. The first of which was revealed to us on Instagram for “TALKING” featuring Ye’s oldest child, North West. Following that, two versions of “VULTURES,” “Havoc Version” and “Juice Version,” got unique imagery. Now, after going number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, “CARNIVAL” gets the music video treatment.

Of course, this cut features Playboi Carti and Rich The Kid, and they have helped turn this record into a fan favorite. Its wild chanting backup vocalists paired with the EDM/trap beat is certainly a unique mix of textures and sonics. But it has won fans over in a hurry, being out for just over a month now. Additionally, like most things Kanye does, this video is anything but orthodox.

It takes the single cover art and turns it into a scroller-esque set of violent and raging CGI imagery. You will catch a shot of the artwork for “CARNIVAL” near the 20 second mark. The song has been an utter success for Kanye, making it his fifth number one track and his first in about 13 years. Additionally, Ty Dolla $ign can say this is number two, while Carti and Rich nabbed their first.

Sexyy Red & Summer Walker Tap Lil Scrappy For New “I Might” Music Video: Watch

Sexyy Red isn’t slowing down in 2024, it seems, as not even childbirth could keep her down for a music video shoot. Moreover, her (and her baby bump) star alongside Lil Scrappy, Summer Walker, and more in the new visual for “I Might,” featuring the latter as a guest artist. For those unaware, this rap/R&B fusion appeared on the deluxe version of the St. Louis rapper’s breakout album Hood Hottest Princess. It’s a romantic tale about lust that still deals with the fallout of another relationship, and this new short film parallels that story quite well and invokes a lot of colorful settings, tropes, and narrative moments that make it a pretty engaging throwback vibe.

Of course, this is not Sexyy Red’s first music video of the year, with that fact attributed to “Rich Baby Daddy” with Drake and SZA. That cut ended up on the Canadian superstar’s 2023 album For All The Dogs, and was definitely among the most fun songs to release last year in the hip-hop mainstream. Fittingly, its visual treatment is also pretty cheeky, as it portrays the “Pound Town” hitmaker and the 6ix God as a couple with some comical interactions. However, this definitely doesn’t answer the question of whether we’ll get more long-form new music from her this year, but that’s a pretty easy code to crack.

After all, Sexyy Red recently teased some new material on social media, and if you’re not already a fan, it won’t convert you. But it doesn’t have to, because it’s clear that she’s building her following and artistry based on some pretty simple but salient core ideas. Say what you will about the content matter within, but it’s a wild double standard to pretend like it’s much raunchier than most other mainstream rap right now. Maybe one day, we’ll get the genre diversion that some fans think is warranted, and we’ll see for sure whether it was the right call.

His mixture of that along with rage music have garnered some mixed reactions to his material. However, his most recent release 2093 surprised many, including the mostly hard to impress, Anthony Fantano. He gave it an eight of 10 and fans are on his side with that take. The album is aiming for a number one debut on the Billboard Hot 200 with around 72.6K copies sold. To help celebrate the album, Yeat put out a music video for “U Should Know.”

One of the deeper cuts on the record, it has earned its place as one of the strongest offerings. It is a song all about not caring about anyone’s opinion and going at life alone. It feels very Travis Scott-esque with its dark color palette and hints of neon. The Weeknd Drops “Popular” Music Video With Madonna & Playboi Carti: Watch

The Weeknd hyped up his HBO show The Idol a lot last year, and while it was by no means perfect, it at least brought us some great music. It’s hard for him to miss in this regard at all, but fans were still shocked when he dropped “Popular” with two very interesting guests as a lead-up to the show. These are rap’s new wave leader Playboi Carti and pop legend Madonna, and fans were bewildered as to how these fusions would come out even if both fit with Abel Tesfaye separately. Regardless of fan expectations, it’s a pop banger, and just a couple of days after its premiere on Fortnite, we now have the official music video for the song on YouTube.

Of course, it’s a very lavish visual treatment that matches well with the shiny cleanliness and pristine production on “Popular.” The Weeknd, Madonna, and Playboi Carti all appear individually at a grand mansion, a high-rise apartment, and a luxury car, respectively. It’s all very clear, crisp, and although simple, it does definitely invoke the aesthetics and mood of the record itself, so it’s a big success in our book. We would’ve loved to have seen the artists interact, though, as XO and Opium have a very strong relationship. Also, it’s wild to think about how the Queen of Pop and King Vamp would match stylistically, both in terms of fashion and general artistry.

Still, this is adding to a heck of a victory lap run for the 34-year-old right now, one that will probably turn into a full album rollout very soon. He recently broke some more Spotify records and teases his next effort in a vague way. Everyone’s looking forward to see how the Canadian superstar wraps up his current trilogy, and his stage moniker as a whole, it seems. But don’t fear: just because he won’t go by The Weeknd anymore doesn’t mean that he won’t stay in the industry as a creative making great art.

Drake And Sexyy Red Pose As A Couple In “Rich Baby Daddy” Music Video

Last year, Drake released his highly-anticipated new album For All The Dogs. The project features some of his strangest collaborations and song concepts to date and the videos accompanying the era have been appropriately outside the box. The first video from the era was for “8 am In Charlotte” and starred Drizzy’s son Adonis, who also makes his rap debut on the album itself. Tracks like “First Person Shooter” with J. Cole and “Another Late Night” with Lil Yachty also got videos of their own. The EP that followed the album Scary Hours 3 even got a video that featured an appearance from another one of the biggest stars in all of music, country singer Morgan Wallen.

Now one of the most unique and exciting tracks on For All The Dogs is getting a video of its own. That track is “Rich Baby Daddy” which features Sexyy Red and SZA. For the music video, they play off Sexyy Red’s recent pregnancy. Drake and Red play a couple in a series of home video-style recordings documenting her pregnancy. As the video goes on her water breaks and by the time her verse arrives she’s rapping alongside a newborn baby. It’s another stylistically distinct video from this era and perhaps the funniest yet. Drake is currently on tour alongside J. Cole for his It’s All A Blur tour. The tour has been going on for months now dating back to the 21 Savage-supported shows last year. Despite claiming last year that he was going on a hiatus, Drizzy teased new music during a recent stop on the tour. While nothing actually concrete has emerged about what he could be releasing and when, he seemingly refuses to let his fans go without new music for long.

Brent Faiyaz & Lupita Nyong’o Drop Enticing & Mind-Bending Music Video For “WY@”

Brent Faiyaz had his fans and Lupita Nyong’o’s dazed and confused all day yesterday with a little teaser. He posted some shots and audio for a music video to his song “WY@.” It was a track that was a part of the rollout for his now-released album Larger Than Life. It is Brent’s fourth studio LP and it follows up his 2022 tape WASTELAND. The Maryland R&B songwriter had some stellar tracks on his 2023 endeavor such as “Moment Of Your Life” with Coco Jones. But, Brent’ Faiyaz’s “WY@” is the track getting more attention.

As we mentioned, the preview for the music video had people shocked when they saw him and Lupita about to make out. However, we did not get to see the full extent of that scene. That is, until today. To help celebrate Valentine’s Day, Brent dropped the five-minute long “movie” for “WY@.”

The full video is as equally confusing but intriguing as the teaser. It depicts him and Lupita acting out scenes for their upcoming action film. The part where the two artists are about to kiss winds up being a dream as he is back in his “bedroom” watching Lupita on a late-night talk show discussing said movie. However, that too is a scene for the motion picture. It really bends and twists your mind in all the best ways.
