Tiffany Haddish Defends Herself After Video Of African Grocery Store Visit Goes Viral

Tiffany Haddish caught flak for how she reacted to a grocery store in Africa, which she believes is unjustified. Haddish recently traveled to Zimbabwe, and recorded herself walking around a store, in awe of it. She commented on the store being “humongous,” and expressed delight at finding items like sugar cane and organic strawberries, hallmarks of most grocery stores in the world.

Viewers responded with a mixed reaction. Some were thankful to Haddish for attempting to contribute to dispelling stereotypes. Others made fun of her for reacting to the store as if she expected Africa to not have any grocery stores. “Tiffany Haddish, the first woman to discover a grocery store in Africa,” said a user on X. “I’m too confused on whether to laugh or feel sorry for her. It would be good to get @TiffanyHaddish to explain why she was surprised in seeing a grocery store in our beloved country? It’s not like we get our food through scavenging or hunting & gathering,” said a second user. Haddish disagrees with the more critical reactions to her post. She took to X to deliver a lengthy rebuttal to those critiques, saying that her goal was not to offend, but to “demystify” Africa as a continent. She also implored more Black Americans to make the trip.

Tiffany Haddish Responds To Negativity

This is not the first time this year that Tiffany Haddish has caught heat for a trip. Earlier this year, she went to Israel to “see what’s going on” and to “meet [her] future man.” Fans criticized that decision, as the latest conflict in the long-standing issues between Israel and Palestine has raged since last October and Haddish seemed to make a mockery of it all with her comments about intending to find a man.

Tiffany Haddish most recently appeared as Tabitha in Bad Boys: Ride or Die. Otherwise, this has been a relatively quiet year for the typically very public comedian. She recently published the memoir I Curse You With Joy, a series of essays about highlights and lowlights of her decades-long career as a comedian. The book received positive reviews from readers who appreciated its honesty. Perhaps a writer should pick her words more carefully next time.

Jonathan Majors Trends As Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom Reveal Goes Viral

At San Diego Comic-Con yesterday (July 27), it was revealed that Robert Downey Jr. will be making his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in an upcoming film, Avengers: Doomsday. He appeared onstage at the event, ripping off his mask and announcing his role as Doctor Doom. Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, also took the opportunity to tease a second film titled Avengers: Secret Wars.

For obvious reasons, fans went nuts, and the moment has since gone viral on social media. Of course, MCU stans can’t wait to see RDJ onscreen. Unfortunately, they also can’t help but recall Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. The film was announced at Comic-Con a couple of years back and was set to feature Jonathan Majors as Kang.

Robert Downey Jr. To Star As Doctor Doom In Upcoming Avengers Films

Since then, however, Majors has been found guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari. As a result, Marvel cut ties with the actor in December. Now, Majors is trending on X as users react to the announcement, and consider how he must be feeling right now. Many are also looking back on the time Majors told Lifehacker Australia that he’d love to share the big screen with RDJ.

“I would love to be across from him on screen to see how our philosophies, acting-wise and character-wise, just personally, match up,” he said in 2023. “You know, I find him to be such a fascinating artist, which is why Iron Man is so fascinating. His portrayal of Iron Man is so fascinating and he represents a very clear worldview and energy of the Avengers. And I think Kang represents a different era.”

Keke Palmer Insists Tyler Perry Isn’t “The Enemy” Amid Backlash For His Reaction To Criticism

Earlier this week, Tyler Perry sat down with Keke Palmer on her podcast Baby, This is Keke Palmer. Shortly after, a few of his comments went viral. At one point in the episode, Perry addressed criticism, alluding to claims that his films consistently portray Black women in distress. According to him, critics have no right to determine what kinds of stories he decides to tell through his movies, and shouldn’t dismiss them as less important than others.

“A large portion of my fans are disenfranchised. Who cannot get in the Volvo and go to therapy on the weekend,” he explained. “You’ve got this highbrow negro who is all up in the air with his nose up looking at everything… Don’t discount these people and say their stories don’t matter. Who are you to be able to say which Black story is important, or should be told? Get out of here with that bullsh*t.”

Keke Palmer Stands Up For Tyler Perry

Perry earned a great deal of backlash for his remarks, including misogyny accusations and more. Now, Palmer has come to his defense on X, arguing that critics are directing their anger at the wrong entity. “The enemy isn’t Tyler it’s the system that makes it hard for multiple black artist to shine at one time,” she began. “Oppression turns you against the person that gets the shine opposed to questioning why there can only be so few at a time. Tyler is not the gatekeeper of all black stories he’s just one creative who broke through the system. Advocating for others to do the same is the fight, not hating Tyler for his work that many do love.”

In a subsequent Tweet, Palmer also noted how Perry has employed many Black people, and urged followers not to “blame his movies for oppression.” What do you think of Keke Palmer coming to Tyler Perry’s defense amid backlash for his response to criticism? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Wack 100 Weighs In On Polo G’s Beef With DJ Vlad

Wack 100 and DJ Vlad talked about several things in a new interview for Vlad’s YouTube channel. One of the topics that arose this time was Polo G. Specifically, Polo G’s issues with DJ Vlad. Police arrested Polo G at a Manhattan hotel for possession of a loaded firearm in April. His brother, Trench Baby, reportedly committed multiple crimes. Polo G previously referred to DJ Vlad as “the Feds” for some of his interview questions. Fans referring to Vlad as “the Feds” or as a “snitch” are the most persistent critiques of Vlad’s channel. Their tension culminated with a FaceTime call where Polo demanded to meet Vlad face-to-face, which Vlad declined.

In the new clip with Wack 100, Vlad emphasized his concern about Polo G’s livelihood. Vlad listed nineteen rappers he interviewed who’ve since died. Some were murdered, others died of other causes. Vlad pointed out the path Polo and his associates seem to be on. He remarked about having to bring his own gun to a meeting with Polo, since he and his brother still have one foot in the streets. Wack100 agreed with Vlad, drawing parallels to infamous family feuds.

Wack 100 Reacts To Polo G And DJ Vlad

“What they don’t realize, Vlad, is that you’ve been in the game for 16, 17 years. You’ve seen a hundred different scenarios that ended in jail, death, someone in a wheelchair, someone else being killed, said Wack 100. “You’re mimicking these nineteen people that [Vlad] interviewed that did exactly what you’re doing, and it ended in a tragic death.”

The authorities arraigned Polo G at the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse in April 2024. A maid discovered a black Glock on the loveseat while she was cleaning his room at the Dominick Hotel in SoHo. The criminal complaint said the gun had one bullet ready to go and nine additional bullets loaded. He was also arrested on a weapons charge in August 2023, after police raided his home and found “numerous firearms.” Polo postponed his fourth album, Hood Poet, after the August arrest, and he has not announced a new release date. Maybe Wack 100 can mediate a conversation between Polo G and DJ Vlad.

Tyler Perry Claps Back At Critics Who Claim His Movies Are All The Same

Tyler Perry has heard it all. He knows what his critics have to say about his films. He’s also aware of how successful his particular style of filmmaking is. Perry is estimated to have a net worth of $1 billion, and his films have grossed over $660 million at the worldwide box office. It’s this pedigree that Perry brings to the table, and why he felt comfortable dismissing criticisms of his work. He recently sat down for an interview with Keke Palmer, though, and decided to address some of these criticisms head on.

Palmer alluded to those who claim Tyler Perry makes the same kind of film over and over again. More specifically, a film in which a Black woman is put in a distressing situation. Perry didn’t shy away from the remark, and instead explained the way he approaches his artistic process. First and foremost, he said, he ignored what detractors had to say. “You gotta drown all that out,” he told Palmer. “If you let somebody talk you out of a place that God has put you in, you are going to find yourself in Hell.” The filmmaker then stated that he has confidence in his work, and his methodology. “I know what I’m doing is exactly what I’m supposed to be doing,” he added.

Tyler Perry Caters To His Fans And Not His Critics

Tyler Perry doesn’t bash people who criticize his work. Rather, he focuses on the people who enjoy what he makes. “For everyone who is a critic,” he noted. “I have thousands of emails from people saying ‘this changed my life,’ ‘oh my god, you know me.’ So that is what’s important.” The filmmaker also noted that many of his fans are disenfranchised, and do not feel seen or related to on a regular basis. “People like me who are grinders, who know what it’s life,” he posited. “Don’t discount these people and say their story don’t matter.”

Tyler Perry and Keke Palmer have known each other for decades. The latter told People Magazine that Perry offered to help with her skin condition when she was just 14 years old. “I’m grateful to Tyler Perry to this day,” Palmer explained. “I don’t tell many people that story, but I was so grateful to him for helping me because he had the resources and he was paying it forward.” Perry and Palmer would eventually work together on the films Madea’s Family Reunion (2006) and Madea Goes to Jail (2009). Perry’s latest film, Divorce In the Black, is currently streaming on Prime.

Kendrick Lamar’s Movie With The ‘South Park’ Guys: Everything To Know About The Unlikely Team-Up

Kendrick Lamar was already one of the greatest rappers of all-time before he came after Drake. But following “Euphoria,” “6:16 In LA,” and “Not Like Us,” well, he’s still one of the greatest rappers ever, and also one of the funniest. “Why you trollin’ like a bitch? Ain’t you tired? / Tryna strike a chord and it’s probably A minor” gets me every time. Lamar’s pairing with the South Park creators, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, on a feature-length film seemed like an usual pairing when it was announced in 2022, but not so much anymore.

Here’s everything we know about The Untitled South Park Guys and Kendrick Lamar Project, which is what I’m calling it until an official title is revealed.

Plot

The Untitled South Park Guys and Kendrick Lamar Project is an original live-action comedy that will “depict the past and present coming to a head when a young Black man who is interning as a slave re-enactor at a living history museum discovers that his white girlfriend’s ancestors once owned his,” Entertainment Weekly reported in 2022. The script is from long-time South Park writer, producer, and voice-of-Towelie, Vernon Chatman. (He also created MTV2’s Wonder Showzen and Adult Swim’s The Heart, She Holler.)

Lamar and Dave Free will produce The Untitled South Park Guys and Kendrick Lamar Project through their company PGLang, while Stone and Parker produce for Park County.

“I’m excited to announce that we’re going into production this summer on a [comedy] from the creators of South Park, Matt Stone and Trey Parker,” Paramount film chief Brian Robbins said at CinemaCon earlier this year. “This script is one of the funniest and most original scripts we’ve ever read, and it’s certain to create some fireworks when it hits theaters on July 4, 2025.”

Parker and Stone are three-fourths of the way to an EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony). All they’re missing is an Oscar — could this be it?

Cast

It’s unclear if Lamar, Parker, or Stone will appear in the film, but don’t expect to see Kanye West or Barbra Streisand (what a movie that would be).

Release Date

The Untitled South Park Guys and Kendrick Lamar Project hits theaters on July 4, 2025, two days after the Jurassic World movie with Scarlett Johansson.

Trailer

There’s no trailer yet and won’t be for awhile. Until then, you can always watch Kendrick Lamar’s star-studded “Not Like Us” music video or maybe this ranking of every South Park song. I haven’t watched the whole thing, but if “Let’s Fighting Love” isn’t in the top 5, I revoke my endorsement of the video.

Billie Eilish Pranked Tyler The Creator By Saying She Pooped Her Pants And His Response Was So On Brand And Hilarious

Elle does a video series called “Phoning It In,” where they get their celebrity guest to prank call some of their famous contacts. Billie Eilish is the latest participant, and her call to Tyler The Creator is pure gold.

The show gives Eilish some prank prompts to go with, but she got to do her own prank idea for Tyler. So, she decided to tell him she was calling him from the bathroom on a date because she pooped her pants.

Tyler was on one right away, as he answered the call, “‘Sup, gay man?” After Eilish fed him the poop lie, he quickly responded, “Fire. Honestly? Fire. You deserve it.”

Eilish, through laughter, told Tyler she didn’t know what to do and asked if she could go to his house. He eventually said yes before wanting to go over the poop story again. Eilish told him she thought it was a fart, and he replied, “Bro, you don’t… you don’t stop once you feel it?”

She then gave up the gag and told him he was being pranked. After some silence, Tyler responded, “That’s amazing. That’s the content that they’re doing for journalism now? Nice.” He added, “Look, I sharted like two months ago.”

The overall theme of that and Eilish’s other prank calls is the prank victims were all very kind. Margot Robbie was super supportive in trying to help Eilish find a new place to shoot a music video, her label head Justin Libliner looked out for Eilish’s well being when she told him she wanted to quit music, and Dakota Johnson did her best to help when Eilish wanted advice about being cast to play a baby in a movie.

The whole video’s pretty fun, so check it out above.

M. Night Shyamalan Was Team Kendrick Lamar Even Before He Referenced ‘The Sixth Sense’ In His Feud With Drake

M. Night Shyamalan’s most childhood trauma-inducing film is Signs, but Drake is probably more traumatized by The Sixth Sense.

Kendrick Lamar referenced the 1999 film in two diss tracks against Drake. On “Euphoria,” he rapped, “Am I battlin’ ghost or AI? / N*gga feelin’ like Joel Osteen / Funny, he was in a film called A.I. / And my sixth sense tellin’ me to off him.” (He meant Haley Joel Osment, who was a good sport about the whole thing.) Lamar also begins his No. 1 hit “Not Like Us” with “I see dead people.”

While promoting his new The Eras Tour-inspired film Trap, Shyamalan was asked about the feud. “We kind of lightly know each other, and I did know [he was a fan],” the director said of Lamar on the Way Up With Angela Yee podcast, according to Billboard. “He’s very gracious with me, and I love him.”

Shyamalan first learned about The Sixth Sense lyric from someone he works with. “The first song ends with it. So someone in the office was like, ‘Oh, Kendrick just dropped something and it references one of your [movies].’ I was like, ‘Oh, cool.’ That was before everything blew up,” he explained.

If the feud with Drake continues, Kendrick should start referencing some of M. Night’s other films. Let’s see what he can do with Lady In The Water.

Kai Cenat FaceTimes A$AP Rocky On Twitch Stream

Kai Cenat FaceTimed A$AP Rocky after meeting up with fellow A$AP Mob member Illz. Cenat was live on his Twitch stream when he ran into A$AP Illz, which quickly turned into Cenat on the phone with Rocky. The New York City natives exchanged pleasantries, as they had never met to that point, before hanging up the phone.

Cenat has been on live stream with some of the most popular names in entertainment. He recently collaborated with Kevin Hart, which went viral for several moments over the several hours they spent together. He spoke with LeBron James on FaceTime on that stream as well. The two of them met in real life during Team USA’s practice in Las Vegas. Neither party has ruled out the possibility of James appearing on Cenat’s channel. Although, it will probably have to wait a while as Team USA is in France for the Olympics.

Kai Cenat has had another banner year as a titan of Twitch. He recently went viral for a stunt he and popular YouTube creator MrBeast pulled off. On the Fourth of July, a replica of Cenat’s room went up in flames after fellow YouTuber ImDavisss lit fireworks in it. The video went viral, but Cenat and MrBeast, real name James Donaldson, had to explain that they did not really burn down Cenat’s actual room. Cenat has also become a prominent Elden Ring player. His livestream of him playing the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC pack lasted 166 hours and reportedly netted him over $400 thousand.

After nearly six years without a new album, A$AP Rocky finally announced something new. Rocky is releasing Don’t Be Dumb, his fourth effort, on August 30. The rapper-turned-fashion mogul premiered tracks from the album at a fashion show in June. Earlier this year, Rocky was caught in the crossfire of the Kendrick Lamar and Drake battle thanks to his own longstanding issues with Drake. He will look to dispel any notions that his music is “mid” when his next full-length work arrives late next month.

Jonathan Majors Wants To Propose To Meagan Good

Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good have been dating since May 2023, when Majors went on trial for domestic abuse against his ex-girlfriend. The court convicted Majors of assault and harassment in April. He was sentenced to a yearlong domestic violence program. Since then, Majors has tried to get back into the good graces of fans and the greater public. Majors danced along to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” at the after party for Good’s new movie. Fans memed the video heavily, but it showed that Majors and Good like being in each other’s company.

In fact, Majors likes being in Good’s company so much that he revealed plans to propose to her. TMZ caught up with Majors in West Hollywood on Tuesday afternoon and asked him the question. “Of course! Of course!” said Majors. He did not go into detail about how much they’ve spoken about marriage, or if they’ve even spoken about it at all. However, he confirmed that both families are in favor of them tying the knot.

Jonathan Majors Asked About Meagan Good Proposal

Meagan Good has enjoyed a career renaissance in recent years. She divorced from longtime husband DeVon Franklin in 2022 and recently starred in Tyler Perry’s new movie Divorce In The Black. While promoting the film, Good revealed that Perry was the first producer to pay her more than her previous acting opportunities did. Good also stars in the Amazon Prime Video series Harlem. The third season began filming in February, with the release expected for the end of 2024 or early 2025.

Jonathan Majors has attempted to revive his own career after being charged with assault. Disney moved on from him, dropping him from all future Marvel Cinematic Universe projects after his conviction. Fans reacted well to his performance as Kang The Conqueror in Loki. However, Kang is a character who exists across many universes in the greater Marvel world, so a decision to recast him could easily be explained away in his next on-screen appearance. The Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards gave Majors the “Perseverance Award” last month. That decision was met with derision from fans. It seems that Majors and Good will get married someday, but when is uncertain.
