Nicki Minaj Celebrates Mother’s Day With A Heartfelt Post

To honor Mother’s Day, Nicki Minaj took to Instagram to express her appreciation for the strong women in her life. She also conveyed immense love for her family. In a heartfelt post, she shared a carousel of photos that began with a picture of herself, her husband Kenneth Petty, and their son Papa Bear. The post also features images of Papa Bear with his grandmothers, as Nicki lovingly acknowledged each of them and expressed how fortunate her son is to have them in his life.

Nicki had some very sweet words to say about her own journey to motherhood and how much her son, Papa Bear, means to her. “All I can think about is how sleep deprived my husband & I were,” the iconic rapper began. “And how I wouldn’t trade even one minute of the journey to becoming your mom.” She went on to speak about how lucky her son is to have so many strong women in his life. “3 diff moms in this slide. Papa, one day I hope you’ll know how lucky you are to have them. Happy Mother’s Day Mommy. Thank you for bringing me to church with you when I was a kid,” Nicki said. “Happy Mother’s Day to my husband’s mother who helped us soooo much in the first year so we could get a few hours of sleep sometimes.”

Although Nicki may have spent quite some time showing appreciation for her family yesterday, she also showed appreciation for her fans. Months after dropping her one-off single, “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” Nicki finally dropped the video for the song. It was quite a surprise for the Barbz, as it had been quite some time since Nicki first teased the video. No doubt some didn’t think it was going to get released. Of course, Nicki’s fans blew the video up immediately, and it’s already sitting at over 1 million views in less than a day.

Nicki has also decided to give back to the community in a bid to help victims of domestic violence. The rapper and her mother have set up The Carol Maraj Foundation. “I saw my father hit my mother in the head with a flashlight and we just moved on like it was nothing,” Nicki said. “I came to America and realized this is abuse, this is domestic violence, I’ve been living.” The new effort will offer cosmetic procedures free of charge to those who courageously decide to leave abusive situations. It is the hope of Nicki and her mother that this will help restore confidence to women that have suffered at the hands of physical violence from a partner or loved one. Yesterday (May 14), nearly every social media post we saw from our favourites was dedicated to Mother’s Day. From parents like Cardi B and Ari Fletcher being spoiled by their little ones, to various rappers shouting out their own family matriarch and co-parents. Among the latter category was Drake. He had plenty of love to show not only to his mother, Sandra Graham but also to his baby mama, Sophie Brussaux.

Drizzy and the French artist were previously off to a tough start following the birth of their son, Adonis. Of course, the “God’s Plan” hitmaker initially denied paternity. He’s claimed that the young boy’s blonde hair, fair complexion, and bright blue eyes made it seem impossible to him that Drake could possibly have a child. The paternity test obviously didn’t lie, though, as he’s had his son frequently by his side ever since. After taking some time to heal, he and Brussaux have also been able to forgive and forget their past. They’ve since formed a strong bond as they continue to raise Adonis together.

She was seen turning up at one of his concerts a few weeks back. Now, the bilingual artist made an appearance on Champagne Papi’s IG Story for Mother’s Day, looking radiant on a boat ride with her little boy. The lyricist didn’t include a caption to go along with the striking image of her and Adonis. Still, the message of love for his family he was trying to get across clearly came through.

Aside from the tribute to Brussaux for baring his first-born son, Drake also took the opportunity to praise his own mother. The Canadian artist was famously raised by a single Sandra Graham in Toronto, later spending summers with his father, Dennis, in Memphis, Tennessee. He’s always been open about his immense love for the woman who brought him up, frequently mentioning her in his music and beyond.

In honor of Mother’s Day, Janelle Monáe shared her mom’s reaction to watching her newest music video, “Lipstick Lover.” The piece, co-directed by Monáe and Alan Ferguson, features a substantial amount of nudity and sensual content. While Monáe’s mother said she likes the song, she did admit she “was hoping that big booty” would “go away.”

Actor Dwayne Johnson gave his mom a house and posted video and a heartfelt caption to IG. “When I was a little boy, I hated when my mom would cry,” the Jungle Cruise actor wrote in the caption. “These days, I’ll happily take her tears of joy 🥹.”

In another clip from the big reveal, Ata got emotional looking at her new family room. Johnson personalized the bright space with her “vintage ukeleles” and “pictures of our ancestors that she hasn’t seen since she was a child growing up in Samoa.”

Lizzo

Singer Lizzo gave her mom Shari Johnson-Jefferson a new Audi in her driveway much to her surprise.Upon seeing the car, Johnson-Jefferson burst into tears and hugged her daughter. “You see these things on television and you never expect it to happen to yourself,” Lizzo’s mom says in the video.

The “Special” singer’s caption spoke to her amazing journey as an accomplished artist.

“I remember crying in my car when my daddy passed, no job no money nowhere to live, wishing I could one day provide for my family,” she wrote on Instagram. “I couldn’t do it for my dad so ima make sure I spoil Mama. Happy holidays y’all.”

In 2021, Kim prepared a personalized present for every year of her mother’s life. The reality star compiled 65 different outfits to add to Kris Jenner’s wardrobe, all of which were specifically tailored to fit her beloved mom’s measurements. Kardashian displayed the clothes in Jenner’s home, styling the designer clothes on a number of mannequins that lined her hallway. Super thoughtful!

Cardi B posted a series of photos and videos of herself with her own children. She shares two kids with her husband, Offset.

Another celebrity to draw attention with their Mother’s Day post was former NFL quarterback Tom Brady. He honored both of his exes, Gisele Bündchen and Bridget Moynahan. “Happy Mothers Day to all these amazing women who have given our family so much throughout their lives. Thank you all for your love, compassion and kindness, and for setting such an amazing example for all of our little ones,” Brady wrote. He added that he’s “so grateful for your support and helping us all achieve our dreams.”

Cam’ron also shared a post for his late mother on the holiday. He revealed that he’s been working on a tribute song for her for three months. “I know i make this shit look easy…but it ain’t,” Cam captioned a photo of himself with his mother as well as a teary-eyed video from the studio. “I miss my mom man.. been tryna finish this song for 3 months and I just start crying before I can finish the first verse. Ima finish this shit today tho. Love and miss you mom.”

Cardi B’s Family Shows Her Plenty Of Love Through Mother’s Day Weekend

While many of our favourite female rap stars are known for spitting salacious bars on stage and twerking in tiny outfits, several are living a double life as parents. During their time off the clock, they’re often on diaper duty, or watching (sometimes in starring in) Baby Shark and other child-friendly content. Today (May 14) is Mother’s Day, meaning that it’s finally time for the lyricists to be spoiled by their little ones in return for all their hard work the other 364 days of the year. Among those receiving the queen treatment is Cardi B, who’s markedly been enjoying a weekend full of activities with her little ones.

On Saturday (May 13) evening, the Invasion of Privacy artist was with her daughter, Kulture, and son, Wave, on a glamorous dinner out. Everyone in attendance was looking their best, with Cardi swapping out her recent bold, bright red hairstyle for a platinum blonde look with intricate artwork on the strands. On her Instagram Story, the New Yorker shared a video with her eldest child, asking the 4-year-old if her mom is her best friend.

Cardi B Shares Heartwarming Moment with Kulture

The day before their night out, Kulture proved that Cardi is, in fact, one of her favourite humans by surprising her with a beautiful brunch and homemade scrapbook. The Grammy Award winner and Offset’s daughter obviously put in plenty of work on the special project, though she likely had some help form her famous father.

Elsewhere on her profile, the mother of two showed off her outfit for Friday’s brunch date (a curve-hugging, pastel-coloured dress), as well as a video of her smooching her 1-year-old boy. We have yet to hear from Bardi on socials yet today, so it’s entirely possible she could be celebrating further with her family – or working on the album she recently promised fans is coming soon.
