AXE, the iconic men’s grooming brand, is taking its connection to music to a whole new level with a new groundbreaking collaboration. For the first time in the brand’s US history, AXE is launching its first limited-edition, talent-partner-themed cans featuring two of hip-hop’s biggest stars: award-winning producer Metro Boomin and multi-platinum rapper Coi Leray.
Starting on August 22, AXE is releasing special-edition Black Vanilla and Blue Lavender cans from its award-winning Fine Fragrance Collection. Each of the cans are redesigned to reflect the unique styles of Metro Boomin and Coi Leray and embody each artist’s signature flair and passion for the brand.
To celebrate this unique launch, Metro Boomin and Coi Leray will unveil the cans with exclusive content on their TikTok channels (@MetroBoomin and @CoiLeray). The cans will be available for purchase starting in September for $7.98 exclusively at Walmart stores nationwide, while supplies last.
This past Thursday, GRAMMY®-nominated, diamond-certified producer and global superstar Metro Boomin electrified the Barclays stage in Brooklyn for the 12th stop of his ‘We Trust You’ tour, featuring Future and a star-studded lineup of special guests.
Metro kicked off the night with a solo set, performing some of his greatest hits, including “Creepin,” “Ric Flair Drip,” and “Glock in My Lap.” Future followed with his own set, delighting fans with tracks like “Mask Off” and “Stick Talk.” The evening was filled with surprise performances by New York fan favorites and beyond, including Travis Scott, Lola Brooke, Sleepy Hallow, Sheff G, Fivio Foreign, Bay Swag, Cash Cobain, and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. For the finale, Metro and Future reunited on stage, delivering powerful renditions of their collaborative hits, including “Fried (She a Vibe),” “Superhero (Heroes and Villains),” and “Type Shit.”
The NYC tour stop also marked the 12th stop of Metro Boomin’s “Leslie Joanne Single Moms Are Superheroes” Tour Grant-Giving Program. This initiative provides $20,000 in grants and show tickets to nonprofits supporting single mothers in each market. At the Barclays Center, Metro Boomin awarded a $20K grant to the Grace Institute, a tuition-free program dedicated to empowering unemployed and underemployed women, particularly women of color and single parents, by offering support services to help them achieve economic self-sufficiency and career success.
The grant distribution is part of Metro’s national tour initiative, which supports nonprofits aiding single mothers and their families. The program, which launched in Kansas City and St. Paul, has traveled to cities like Detroit, Atlanta, Toronto, Boston, and Philadelphia, providing grants to organizations such as Essential Families, Jeremiah Foundation, Alternatives for Girls, Atlanta Mission, Solomon’s Temple, YWCA Toronto, EMpath, Women Against Abuse, and Grace Institute. The ‘Single Moms Are Superheroes’ initiative began in 2017, focusing on impactful giveback events and activations. In December 2023, Metro partnered with St. Louis-based nonprofit RUNG for Women and presented sponsor Amazon Access to launch this grant-giving program in honor of his late mother, Leslie Joanne.
Future and Metro Boomin’s We Don’t Trust You track “Like That” featuring Kendrick Lamar planted the seed for Lamar’s eventual “Not Like Us” victory lap. Future and Metro Boomin are enjoying a victory lap of their own in their We Trust You Tour. The North American trek is in support of We Don’t Trust You and We Still Don’t Trust You, their joint albums that each hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
The We Trust You Tour began at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri last week and will continue through the rest of the summer.

GRAMMY®-nominated, diamond-certified producer and global superstar Metro Boomin delivered a special hometown concert in St. Louis featuring Future, 21 Savage, Nav, and Nelly & St. Lunatics. Held at The Pageant, an intimate venue with a 2,000-person capacity, the “and Friends” concert format surprised fans with a stellar lineup of Metro’s artist friends performing their hits.
This exclusive homecoming show marked a celebratory send-off ahead of the ‘We Trust You Tour’ with Future, which kicks off tonight at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, MO. Metro Boomin and Future will embark on a 21-day North American tour, with stops in major cities, including Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and Toronto.
It has been a little bit since fans have heard some new Young Nudy. In fact, the last time we got a solo release from the Atlanta, Georgia product was back in September 2023. His viral single “Peaches & Eggplants”, which would go on to land on Gumbo, got a remix with Latto and Sexyy Red. This slower production schedule comes as a bit of a surprise, especially given his track record earlier on in his career. But it seems that the “EA” lyricist is taking his time and it has been paying dividends. Prime examples of this include Young Nudy’s Childish Gambino collab on “Little Foot Big Foot” and now “John Wayne”.
The latter ends that previous dry spell, but it also includes production from Metro Boomin. This marks their first effort together since the duo and 21 Savage united for “Umbrella” off of HEROES & VILLAINS. Hearing them back on a track together is a real street based on their chemistry and “John Wayne” is certainly a fine addition to their collection. Back in January, Nudy previewed their song on IG Live and fans were extremely hyped. The devilish instrumental and the MC’s flows pretty much remain the same from the snippet, so listeners will be thrilled about that.
Metro reposted the teaser to his IG and was talking about how fans weren’t ready for their upcoming collab tape. While “John Wayne” does seem like it will be on a Nudy project in the future, we can only hope that their joint LP is on the horizon. Metro is a busy man right now though, as people are still waiting on a release date for the JID album as well. But “John Wayne” is more than good enough to hold us and fans over for the time being.
First of all, don’t get it twisted, know that I’m giving these bullets out I ain’t even worried ’bout what you ’bout I’m in the middle of the field, ain’t worried ’bout no n****, these n****s know what I’m ’bout Know that I’m aiming to kill, shooting to kill, like what the f*** these n****s be talkin’ about? Way back then you give me a ten, I’m pullin’, I’m shooting everything, what you talkin’ about? I remember these n****s was slimin’ their twins, their friends, these n****s wasn’t really ’bout it

GRAMMY®-nominated, diamond-certified producer and global superstar Metro Boomin has announced a special “Metro Boomin and Friends” hometown performance. The exclusive show will occur at The Pageant in St. Louis, MO, on Monday, July 29.This homecoming event serves as a celebratory send-off for his highly anticipated We Trust You Tour with Future, which kicks off the following night on Tuesday, July 30, in Kansas City, MO, at T-Mobile Center.Tickets for the St. Louis performance will be available starting Monday, July 22, at 10 am
local time at livenation.com. Don’t miss this chance to see Metro Boomin in his hometown before he embarks on his tour.
Metro Boomin is the biggest hip-hop producer right now. As far as beat makers in their prime go, it’s Metro and then it’s everybody else. He soundtracked a superhero movie and spearheaded the best rap battle of the 21st century with “Like That.” He also blessed the world with “BBL Drizzy.” Metro is a bona fide star, so now seems like the perfect time for him to celebrate back in his hometown. The producer announced that he will be putting a special one-night only show in St. Louis on July 29.
The show, titled “Metro Boomin and Friends,” was announced through Live Nation. A guest list hasn’t yet been announced. That said, the “and Friends” part of the bill leads us to believe stars will be attending. Metro Boomin was able to secure features from some of the biggest names in rap on his last two albums. It’s safe to assume his partner on those albums, Future, will be in attendance. Both artists will embark on their “We Trust You Tour” the day after, so it would line up perfectly.
Metro Boomin’s St. Louis Show Will Be One Night Only
Metro Boomin has always maintained his love for St. Louis. The producer was given the key to the city by Mayor Tishaura Jones in 2023. The city also declared December 14 Leland “Metro Boomin” Wayne Day, further establishing his legacy. Metro talked to Rolling Stone about the dual honor, and he admitted that it felt surreal. “From a kid to now, I’ve just had so much pride in being born and raised in St. Louis,” he said. “I can’t even really say it’s a dream come true… I don’t even think I’ve ever dreamt of this.”
Metro Boomin has made a point of giving back to St. Louis since his career has taken off. He has formed partnerships with various local organizations. Particularly those that provide support for single mothers. In addition to his own personal experiences, Metro associates the city with his late mother, Leslie Joanne Wayne. He’s spoken at length about the impact she had on him, and how important it is to him to uphold her positive influence. “St. Louis is such a special place,” he noted to the outlet. “I feel like no one would really understand unless you’ve lived there. It’s a very historic city, a hardworking city.” Tickets for “Metro Boomin and Friends” will be made available for purchase on Monday, July 22.
Apparently, no owls were harmed in the making of Kendrick Lamar’s hilarious video game version of “Not Like Us,” but fans are having a blast bopping the birds in the Whac-A-Mole-esque browser game for the past few days. For what it’s worth, the little “Wop”s that pop out when you make contact is an adorable touch.
Kendrick isn’t the only rapper whose had their music turned into a memorable digital mayhem, though; he’s actually the latest in a long line of rappers with games tied to their songs — a list that includes superstars like Future, Kanye West, and more. Sadly, some of the simple, browser-based games have gone offline after their initial releases, since they were timed to help promote specific projects.
But over the years, there have been big studio-produced games that put fans in the shoes of their favorite MCs to do everything from shooting hoops to brawling in the streets. Here’s a list of 10 more rapper-approved video games to feed your fix for beats, rhyme, and extra lives.
50 Cent: Bulletproof
A third-person action shooter in the vein of genre classics like Max Payne, this PlayStation 2-era revenge story was widely panned for having bad gameplay. While it proved 50’s early interest in expanding his G-Unit empire, it also betrayed a lack of care in how it did so.
Chance The Rapper: SuperMe
The story behind this game’s creation is more endearing than the game itself, thanks to its simple gameplay. However basic it is, though, it’s cool that Chance worked with Chicago’s public school system to encourage kids to learn to code.
Doja Cat Website for Planet Her
Excited to finally reveal that I created all the pixel art with RCA Records to revamp @dojacat ‘s website into a whole top-down pixel adventure. It was a lot of fun and I had lots of freedom in creating the city and the style. (1/3)#dojacat#rcarecords#pixelartpic.twitter.com/aFtxZNjDvJ
While not technically a game, per se, the 16-bit pixel art style for the interactive redesign of Doja’s website circa Planet Her made it very game-like. That you also navigated a tiny avatar of Doja through the titular world makes it all the more a shame it’s not accessible anymore.
Earthgang: Mirrorland
Pixel artist Ali Graham has had a lot of fun turning popular hip-hop moments into cute, 8- and 16-bit animations on Instagram. Atlanta rap duo Earthgang tapped him to make a full-blown side-scrolling adventure platformer for the release of their 2019 album, Mirrorland.
Future: I Won
Probably the grossest game on the list (although its attitude toward women isn’t exactly an outlier in either games design or hip-hop), this basic game is a bit like a ring toss, only the targets are scantily clad digital women, and the rings are chain necklaces. Yeesh.
Kanye West: Lil Ye Adventures
Although technically not officially endorsed by Kanye himself, this one’s almost too good not to include. Another of Graham’s creations, this one is based on Graham’s first cartoon avatar, a child-like version of Kanye from when he was way less problematic.
Aside from the games no longer in circulation, this one may very well be one of the hardest to obtain. A promotional product hyping his 2022 album Heroes & Villains, this dungeon crawler was released in limited quantities as a physical Game Boy game. I can’t exactly speak to its quality — despite having a copy, I haven’t actually owned a Game Boy since like 2003.
Nicki Minaj: The Empire
A lifestyle simulator might have seemed like a home run for Ms. Minaj’s first foray into mobile gaming, but its dated format is a relic of several outdated ideas about women in gaming (and its developers’ lazy assumptions that Nicki’s audience would be primarily women).
Def Jam Vendetta, Fight For NY, and Icon
Like a video game version of a posse cut, these games collect a roster of rapper to beat the hell out of each other in martial competition. The first one was a groundbreaking delight, the second is a damn classic, and the third tossed out a winning formula, effectively killing interest in the format. This is my semi-annual request for someone to figure out a way to do a new one of these with contemporary rappers (in the style of Fight for NY, not Icon).
Rap Jam Volume One
An utterly legendary release, likely thrown together to compete with the popularity of the NBA Jam franchise, Rap Jam has the distinction of being the first game to bring together a collective of real-life rappers — ’90s staples like Coolio, House of Pain, LL Cool J, Queen Latifah, and Yo-Yo — for an unhinged basketball game that flouted the rules. It was developed by Motown during another one of the label’s ill-fated attempts at branching out, and while its name might suggest that there were more of these, its unimpressive quality meant that it was also the last of its kind.
