Beyonce delighted many of her fans she appeared at a recent Kamala Harris rally. She went onstage to represent her hometown of Houston, Texas alongside Destiny’s Child peer Kelly Rowland. Beyonce didn’t perform, but she made her support of Harris clear. This, evidently, did not sit well with Harris’ opponent, Donald Trump. The former president claimed that rally attendees booed Beyonce during her speech, and the singer’s father felt the need to set the record straight. Mathew Knowles made it clear that Trump was merely bashing the singer due to her political affiliation.
Let’s first dish on Donald Trump’s statement. The former president took the stage at Madison Square Garden and claimed that he didn’t need celebrities like Beyonce to endorse him. He then claimed that the singer and Harris were booed by the crowd. “They said, ‘Beyoncé’s coming to sing’, and she came, but she didn’t sing,” Trump said. “And then, Kamala came on as Beyoncé was leaving without singing even one song, and they booed the hell out of both of them.” TMZ caught up with Mathew Knowles on the heels on these allegations, and he made it clear that no such booing occurred.
“I can unequivocally say no one was booing,” Knowles told the outlet. “That’s just a lie. Everyone has the right to have their own perspective, but they don’t have to right to lie.” Knowles is not the only member of Beyonce’s family who has made their political beliefs known. Months before Beyonce threw her support behind Kamala Harris, her mother, Tina Knowles, endorsed Harris on Instagram. Harris also showed love to Beyonce and her fans by using “Freedom” as her introductory song during a press conference.
Beyonce’s decision to endorse Harris has been met with its fair share of derision. Trump’s mockery comes mere days after the singer was bashed on Fox News. Internet personality Xaviaer Durousseau dragged the sales for Beyonce’s last album, Cowboy Carter, and claimed she should focus more on her music career than politics. “Beyonce doesn’t need to be doing that,” he said. “[She] needs to focus on keeping her album on the charts because it’s already gone.”
Yesterday (September 20), Tina Knowles addressed the upload in The Neighborhood Talk‘s comment section (viewable here), writing: “This is fake. Not from me!”
The message in question read: “Oh Ms. Dolly, we love you, but Bey did spend her WHOLE life workin’ hard, since she was 9! She got country roots too. She’s mastered her craft and broken records in EVERY genre. So sayin’ she didn’t ‘spend her life’ in country music dismisses all that work she put in.”
Although Tina claims she didn’t post a response to Dolly Parton’s defense of the CMA Awards, Beyoncé’s father and former manager Matthew Knowles has spoken out. During a conversation with TMZ, Matthew called out the CMA Awards voting committee. “[The voters are] showing it still comes down to white and Black,” he said. “There’s more white people in America, and unfortunately they don’t vote based on ability and achievements, it’s still sometimes a white and Black thing.”
Beyoncé, herself, still hasn’t addressed the CMA Awards nomination list.
Mathew Knowles is no stranger to supporting his own family. He was famously the manager of Destiny’s Child and also took on the role for the solo careers of both Beyonce and Solange. And that support unsurprisingly extends to his grandchild Blue Ivy as well. The young dancer toured alongside her mother last year. She performed in numerous shows on the Renaissance tour often going viral for her dancing talent at such a young age.
In a lengthy tweet attached to a picture of Blue on tour, Mathew sent her a heartfelt message. “Dear Blue Ivy, I remember coming back stage in London to the Renaissance concert and asking about you. Beyoncé replied “she is there rehearsing” and then I understood why because one of your friends had commented negatively about your first performance on the tour. In that moment I was so proud that you wanted to put in the work to get better,” his statement began. “I want to take a moment to appreciate the amazing determination and willingness to learn that you displayed. Your excitement for life and your eagerness to soak up knowledge and new experiences is truly inspiring. You have already shown the world that you are a force to be reckoned with,” he continued. Check out the full statement below.
In the rest of his statement Mathew compared Blue Ivy’s creative spirit to that of her many talented family members. Blue Ivy, I hope you may continue to embrace life with the same determination and willingness to learn that you possess now. Your journey is just beginning, and I have no doubt that you will leave an lasting mark on the world. Chase your dreams, follow your heart, and always believe in the extraordinary potential that lies within you,” his tweet concludes.
What do you think of Mathew Knowles adorable twitter message to Blue Ivy? Did you think her performances on the Renaissance tour were impressive relative to her young age? Let us know in the comment section below.
Beyonce’s new hair line Cécred is getting a lot of positive excitement from fans… yet not everyone’s on board. Moreover, a lot of folks pointed out that she wears extensions, and thus questioned what she really knows about natural hair. In addition to this, folks had other criticisms of the superstar’s initiative concerning her supposedly taking advantage of this business for her gain without really knowing much about it. However, this is all just speculative, and her father doubled down on this. TMZ caught up with Mathew Knowles in New York City recently and asked him about the hair care company.
“I know nothing about the hair care line,” Mathew Knowles said of Beyonce’s latest move in business and pop culture. “We [he and his then-wife Tina Knowles] had a salon. I don’t know what to tell you but, you know, we had a hair salon for 17 years, and it was the top hair salon in Houston. Uh, must have some credibility, right? Seventeen years, top hair salon. I’ll let you guys figure it out.” It’s clear that the Destiny’s Child manager wants for folks to just see this skill for themselves rather than make assumptions.
Beyonce’s Father Thinks Cécred Criticism Is Unfounded: Watch
However, speaking of Destiny’s Child -– and responding to backlash -– Mathew Knowles also spoke on another member’s recent controversy. TMZ also asked him about Kelly Rowland supposedly walking out of The Today Show because her dressing room was too small. “Oh, Kelly is a sweetheart,” he replied when confronted about whether or not he thinks she would do something like that. Kelly lived with us, I look at Kelly as my daughter. I don’t know what happened, but I can tell you one thing I do know. She’s not a diva, she’s a sweetheart, and that’s all I know! I don’t keep up with it like I used to.”
Meanwhile, other folks are walking back their criticisms of Queen Bey for other reasons. Joe Budden recently apologized for refusing to speak on her new country singles. We’ll see if there’s a similar turnaround on Cécred. On that note, check back in with HNHH for the latest news and more updates on Beyoncé and her father Mathew Knowles.
JAY-Z spoke for his wife Beyoncé during the Grammys, questioning how is she the most awarded artist of all-time with no Album of the Year trophy. According to Beyoncé’s father, Mathew Knowles, it is the fault of her former label.
Speaking with TMZ, Knowles stated the blame may not fall all on the Recording Academy.
“People don’t know the process. Your record label can only appoint one person in a category. So that means her record label, Columbia Records, her record label has never really put her in that category for consideration,” said Knowles.
Music business mogul and father toBeyoncéand Solange, Mathew Knowles, is bringing his life story to the big screen. Knowles’ memoir, Racism From The Eyes of a Child, is slated to be adapted into a film.
From Pages To Film
Mathew Knowles has partnered with production company Say Unkel Entertainment to create his 2017 memoir, Racism From The Eyes of a Child, into a feature film and limited series, according to Variety.
The book delves into Knowles’ experiences growing up during the Jim Crow Era in Alabama, highlighting the influence of figures such as Martin Luther King Jr., Albert Turner, and Ralph Abernathy on his upbringing. However, this won’t be Mathew’s first appearance on the big screen, as he was featured in his daughter’s recent film, Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé.
What’s In The Works?
According to the feature script based on Mathew Knowles’ memoir, it is already complete and ready for the market.
Howard Kazanjian, a producer on the original Star Wars trilogy, will collaborate with Knowles to oversee the film’s creative control. In the film, it’s expected to highlight the first half of the book, which recounts Knowles’ early years and the challenges he faced.
Jada’s ‘Worthy’
The decision to adapt the memoir comes amidst a trend of public figures sharing their personal stories. ActressJada Pinkett-Smith recently released her memoir, “Worthy,” in which she reflects on her own experiences. As part of her promotion for the book, Pinkett-Smith shared a vintage video of herself and the late Tupac Shakurdancing and lip-syncing to a song by her husband, Will Smith.
Mathew Knowles, music manager and father of Beyoncé and Solange, is venturing into television. Variety is reporting that his 2017 memoir Racism From The Eyes Of A Child, will be adapted into both a feature film and limited series.
The show and film will arrive by way of a partnership between Knowles and Say Unkel Entertainment. According to Variety, the film will cover the first half of the book, detailing Knowles’ childhood in Alabama in the early ’60s. During this time, the race riots took place in Alabama, and Knowles was one of six black students at an all-white school. In the book, Knowles details his participation in peaceful protests, and recalls being burnt with a cattle prod, as well as getting arrested four times in one day.
The book also covers Knowles and his admiration for key figures like Martin Luther King Jr., Albert Turner, and Ralph Abernathy. Knowles also details his father and his mother, the latter of whom was a classmate of Coretta Scott King.
“These are the men who made me proud and women who taught me to fight back,” Knowles said.
In Beyoncé’s Renaissance documentary, Bey also shares brief anecdotes about her father’s Alabama upbringing, which was also noted on her 2016 single, “Formation.”
Beyonce Knowles’ impact on music and entertainment is second-to-none. An iconic figure through and through, her gorgeous vocals and mesmerizing performances have left fans in awe for three decades. The world knows her for her talent and success but many fans wonder about the singer’s personal life, including her family background and the number of siblings she has.
Beyonce’s father, Matthew Knowles, welcomed two children outside of his marriage with Tina Knowles, including Nixon Wright with actress Alexsandra Wright. This week, Wright spoke to The Sun, claiming that their son Nixon has no relationship with his superstar half-sister and lives in a trailer nearby. “[Beyonce] is a billionaire and just bought the most expensive house in California, 10 miles from where we live,” Wright said, referencing the $200M California mansion that Bey and her husband, Jay-Z, purchased for their family.
Beyonce’s largely acknowledged her father’s infidelity in her music. However, Knowles welcomed two children outside of his marriage to Tina: Nixon Wright and Koi Knowles. Below, we’re exploring Beyonce’s family background, including her half-siblings and step-siblings.
Beyoncé was born on September 4, 1981, in Houston, Texas, to Mathew Knowles and Tina Knowles. Her parents played a significant role in her career, Mathew acting as her former manager until 2011 and her mother, Tina designing costumes for Destiny’s Child.
Beyonce has one younger sister named Solange Piaget Knowles. Born on June 24, 1986, Solange is also a talented musician and has made her mark in the industry as a singer, songwriter, and actress. Known for her unique style and distinct musicality, Solange has released several critically acclaimed albums, including A Seat At The Table and When I Get Home.
Beyoncé and Solange share a close bond that extends beyond their shared talent. Both sisters have collaborated on various projects, and their support for each other is evident. Despite their individual successes, the Knowles sisters have remained connected and frequently celebrate each other’s achievements.
Apart from Solange, Beyonce has two half-siblings from her father’s side. Her father, Mathew Knowles, had a son named Nixon Knowles and a daughter named Koi Knowles from different relationships. Nixon’s mother, Alexsandra Wright, has been extremely vocal about the affair she carried out with Mathew Knowles during his marriage to Tina Knowles. Wright revealed in a recent interview that there’s “there has not been any contact” between Nixon and Beyonce, despite apparently living 10 miles from each other.
“My main concern has been dealing with a child that asks, ‘Why doesn’t that person love me?’ It’s a very human story and I sit in the bathroom and cry sometimes because I just don’t know how to help him be his own person,” Wright said. She added that Nixon also doesn’t have a relationship with his father.
Additionally, Mathew fathered a second child, Koi Knowles, outside of his marriage with Tina with Taqoya Branscomb. Branscomb previously opened up about the affair that she had with Knowles, although she keeps under the radar these days. Koi Knowles opened an Instagram account where she described herself as a model, actress, and antibully advocate.
Beyoncé gained a step-sister through her mother Tina’s remarriage to actor Richard Lawson. Bianca Lawson, born on March 20, 1979, is an actress known for her roles in popular TV shows such as Pretty Little Liars and Teen Wolf. Lawson and Beyonce have kept their relationship private over the years but they have appeared together in family photographs.
Beyonce Knowles’s extended family includes not only her immediate relatives but also half-siblings and step-siblings. While Nixon and Koi stand as her half-siblings from her father’s side, Bianca Lawson and Richard Lawson Jr. have become an integral part of her family through her mother’s remarriage.
At last, Beyoncé’sRenaissance tour kicked off in Sweden yesterday (May 10), and the show has her father, Mathew Knowles, in a reflective mood.
Yesterday, he tweeted, “I’m just looking at a video from Beyoncé’s first show in Stockholm. Amazing! Just amazing! I remember when Beyoncé was a little girl and all she wanted to be was an entertainer. She has worked so very hard to be the best entertainer in the world, and I am so immensely proud.”

This comes after a series of tweets shared on May 9, in which Knowles wrote more about his daughter’s childhood and how driven she was:
“Beyoncé kicks off The Renaissance World Tour this week. Believe it or not, I’m often still in awe as I watch her continue to soar to heights that few in history have ever been able to. […] If it’s a passion, you won’t need to tell them to go to practice, pick up the instrument, or show up to class. They’ll want to show up naturally and immerse themselves in it. […] We never once during her childhood had to tell her to show up when it came to music. She was never distracted from her inner drive. She knew what she wanted and she went after it. As parents, we didn’t need for her to be an expert or passionate about everything. She faced challenges in math, for example, but as long as she did her best and focused on her musical passion–we were happy.
For me, the start of Beyoncé’s tour this week isn’t just an addition to an already historic year where she now holds the most Grammy award wins ever. It’s a symbol of human achievement and possibility. It’s a mark of what’s possible when a child is encouraged to chase after their dream. And above all else, it hopefully serves as a beacon of light for young people and dreamers of all shapes and sizes to believe in themselves.

Many memories of her childhood flooded to me when I sat down recently with @Vishen of @Mindvalley as we discussed the importance of providing our children with the tools and positive thinking needed to succeed.
As I shared with Vishen; there’s a very simple way to identify if your child is passionate about something, or if it’s merely a general interest or a hobby.
If it’s a passion, you won’t need to tell them to go to practice, pick up the instrument, or show up to class. They’ll want to show up naturally and immerse themselves in it.
I told Vishen the very thing I want to share with you as Beyoncé embarks on her historic tour this week; we never once during her childhood had to tell her to show up when it came to music.
As parents, we didn’t need for her to be an expert or passionate about everything. She faced challenges in math, for example, but as long as she did her best and focused on her musical passion—we were happy.

Matthew Knowles’s journey with Destiny’s Child is one for the history books. The father of Beyoncé and Solange acted as the manager and mastermind behind one of the most successful girl groups ever. Knowles was critical in shaping Destiny’s Child into the superstars we know today. His tireless efforts to launch and grow the careers of Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, and other group members. This resulted in an incredible legacy that remains influential in the music industry. Fans of the girl group are aware of Mathew’s influence, but we’ll revisit how the proud father helped them to reach global success.
Destiny’s Child Beginnings
The story of Destiny’s Child began in the early 1990s when Mathew Knowles, an experienced sales executive, saw the potential in his daughter and her friends. Recognizing their talent and passion for music, he formed the group Girl’s Tyme, which later evolved into Destiny’s Child. Mathew’s business acumen played a crucial role in the early stages. He quit his job to manage the group full-time and invested his resources into their growth.
His dedication paid off in 1997 when Destiny’s Child signed with Columbia Records, releasing their self-titled debut album a year later. The album’s first single, “No, No, No,” featuring rapper Wyclef Jean, quickly rose to the top of the charts, solidifying the group’s status as an emerging force in the industry. It laid the foundation for the girl group, and soon, their music videos were featured worldwide.
Destiny’s Child Global Success
Mathew Knowles’ determination and strategic vision helped launch Destiny’s Child into the stratosphere. Their sophomore album, The Writing’s on the Wall, released in 1999, became a multi-platinum hit. It spawned chart-topping singles like “Bills, Bills, Bills” and “Say My Name.” During this time, Mathew’s management prowess was fully displayed. He expertly navigated lineup changes, contractual disputes, and the evolving music landscape. He emphasized the group’s branding and image, securing endorsement deals and expanding their reach into film and television appearances.
The group’s third album, Survivor, arrived in 2001 and was an instant success, fueled by the empowering title track and other hits like “Bootylicious.” Under Mathew’s guidance, Destiny’s Child was unstoppable, earning numerous awards, including Grammys, and becoming one of the best-selling girl groups ever.
Disbanding & Reunion Rumors
In 2005, Destiny’s Child announced their disbanding, a decision that Mathew Knowles later attributed to the members’ desire to pursue solo careers. Beyoncé, Kelly, and Michelle each succeeded as solo artists, with Beyoncé becoming a global phenomenon in her own right. Throughout the years, rumors of a Destiny’s Child reunion have persisted, with fans eagerly awaiting any news of a comeback. Mathew has acknowledged these rumors in various interviews, and although he remains tight-lipped about any definitive plans, he has expressed interest in the idea of a reunion.
Since Destiny’s Child disbanded, Knowles has continued to work in the music industry. He uses his expertise and experience to develop new talents and share his wisdom with aspiring artists. His impact on Destiny’s Child’s success is a blueprint for effective artist management. This highlights the importance of balancing creative vision with a strong business strategy.
