Lil Uzi Vert Scores Top 10 Chart Debut With “Eternal Atake 2” Despite Fans’ Disappointment

Fans didn’t think that Lil Uzi Vert would do too well commercially with Eternal Atake 2, but even a disappointing performance compared to the triple-digit numbers of Pink Tape and the first Eternal Atake took them a long way. The new album, which many fans disliked per online discussions, debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 album chart with 59K units sold in its first week. This is the Philly superstar’s fifth top ten debut and falls behind Sabrina Carpenter’s Short N’ Sweet at number two and Tyler, The Creator’s CHROMAKOPIA at number one, its second consecutive week atop the chart.

Furthermore, this caused a lot of fans to debate the weight and significance of Lil Uzi Vert’s Eternal Atake 2, something that they already debated from a critical reception standpoint upon its release. While this is not as impressive as other commercial performances from them, they still remain a massive and resonant enough cultural force to chart higher than any brand-new hip-hop album this week. Plus, when you compare the rollouts and single pushes with other LPs, it’s easy to see how this did not have the highest performance ceiling, either.

All in all, we doubt that Lil Uzi Vert minds this and is instead grateful for all the love and support for Eternal Atake 2, as their mission remains committed to their fanbase above all else. Also, this release pushed more extracurricular avenues for them that continue to speak to their cultural grip on many rap fans and music consumers. For example, Nike launched a new Eternal Atake 2 Air Force 1 Low, which is only available for friends and family at press time. Maybe it sees a wider release down the pipeline, which many fans would love to see.

Elsewhere, Lil Uzi Vert feels energized by Eternal Atake 2‘s release no matter if it sold ten copies or ten billion. They teased more new music coming soon, remarking that they remain hard at work in the studio with fresh material. Maybe the frequency of these drops will push Uzi further up the charts or more focused on what their core fans love.

JT Congratulates Lil Uzi Vert For “Eternal Atake 2” Despite Negative Fan Reactions

JT and Lil Uzi Vert always support each other through thick and thin, so it’s nice when the latter circumstance comes up more often than the former. Moreover, she recently took to Instagram to congratulate them on their brand new album Eternal Atake 2, penning a message on how proud she is of her boo. “So proud of you always!” the former City Girl wrote. “My top 3 is light year, pears to mars & Mr.chow honorable mention chill bae! Really the whole thing but that’s being bias because you do no wrong in my eyes! Forever your #1 fan! Paint the world white my baby, congratulations on EA2.”

However, a lot of Lil Uzi Vert fans don’t share this same sentiment, at least when it comes to the top three songs debate and the quality of Eternal Atake 2 as a whole. Many of them expressed disappointment in this LP, throwing “washed” allegations left and right while speaking on how much more they prefer their older catalog. Of course, fan reception isn’t everything, especially when the Philly rapper has someone like JT there to share some love. Maybe this initially negative reception ages like milk or this project doesn’t stand out in the wider Uzi catalog in retrospect.

In addition, this follows some more backlash concerning Lil Uzi Vert, but for completely different reasons concerning JT. Some fans felt that she disrespected them when she didn’t post anything for National Boyfriend Day on October 3, as irrelevant as this aspect was for others online. Regardless of this omission, the couple’s pride for each other and in each other is usually no secret online. As such, maybe a specific post wasn’t necessary to show this, although it certainly couldn’t have hurt.

Meanwhile, as fans bicker and throw their hot takes around JT and Lil Uzi Vert’s music and relationship, they are just having a good time wherever they go. They’ve never been the type to get caught up in backlash, even though they’ve previously opened up about insecurities and celebrity pressures. Lil Uzi Vert finally dropped Eternal Atake 2 after months of teasing a follow-up to 2023’s Pink Tape, and fans were very excited to dive in. However, as you might have seen already on social media, a lot of die-hards and casual listeners alike weren’t feeling their style and approach this time around, leading to many disappointed reactions on the Internet. Of course, this is nothing new for the Philly rap star, as plenty of their projects in the past did not garner the warmest reception on impact. Perhaps this was just a bad day for fans after Halloween celebrations, but either way, it’s a divisive reception to say the least.

Plenty of fans still enjoyed Eternal Atake 2, but sometimes the most controversial opinion is the loudest. We’ll let you make your own assessment of this reception. Nevertheless, this album saw Lil Uzi Vert address some other controversies of theirs as of late, including fan concern over their alleged use of nitrous gas. “They said I was lost, they thought I was a dead guy, I was on the NOS,” they rap on the opening track “We Good.”

Lil Uzi Vert Appears To Diss Lil Yachty On New Leaked Song

Lil Uzi Vert and Lil Yachty have a lot of career parallels, as they came up during a similar time back in the SoundCloud era and the popularization of the term “mumble rap.” But that doesn’t mean they’ve always seen eye to eye. Beef rumors have followed the two for years now, and a new leaked Uzi song means that they won’t die out for a while. On it, they seem to diss Yachty with the following lines: “N***as, they put my swag in they notes / I was on a yacht in the goddamn snow / B***h, I’m Lil Uzi, I’m not Lil Boat.”

Of course, this doesn’t necessarily have to be a shot, as it could just be a risky play on words unrelated to the first bar. Nevertheless, fans still raised their eyebrows at this, and it looks like neither artist has publicly responded to this at press time. You may recall that Lil Yachty previously downplayed rumors that he and Lil Uzi Vert had beef when a leak surfaced that had an apparent Uzi diss on it. “No matter how bad they want the collab, I ain’t friends with Uzi,” he allegedly spat.

Meanwhile, this might be the praise Ak was talking about that Lil Uzi Vert had for Lil Yachty while talking to DJ Akademiks in the studio. “It’s definitely, like, you gotta understand,” they told the media personality. “How long has he been around? Yachty. That’s what I’m trying to tell you, and he still ain’t even go nowhere. He’s definitely a n***a that beat the washed allegations. He beat the s**t out of them. On his own ways. He beat it!” With all this in mind, it looks like this new leak is probably either a misconstrued shout-out or an old sentiment that doesn’t reflect their relationship anymore… But we could be wrong.

Lil Uzi Vert Finally Surpasses This Milestone With “Pink Tape”

Lil Uzi Vert’s Pink Tape was one of the biggest rap albums of last year, and even though it took a long time, it’s finally got its long-awaited seven-figure plaque to show for it. Moreover, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified its diamond status on Friday (August 9) after selling over one million album-equivalent units a little over a year after its release. Not only that, but the organization also certified the project’s biggest single, “Just Wanna Rock,” as quadruple platinum on the same day. But don’t forget about other highlights like “S***ide Doors,” “Fire Alarm” featuring Snow Strippers, “Nakamura,” and many more.

In other Lil Uzi Vert news, Boosie Badazz wasn’t too happy about his Marc Jacobs campaign appearance. “I was pissed,” he told DJ Vlad on VladTV. “Before he was all doing that, I was kind of f***ing with him. I just don’t agree with all his, like, s**t these men be doing out here. How’s somebody ever going to raise a strong young man when you’re looking like a strong young woman? All these men who need to do that, your child looking at you. One day your child might ask you, ‘Daddy, why you got on nail polish and all this stuff like mommy?’ What you do follows you.”

Elsewhere, Lil Uzi Vert also promised that Eternal Atake 2 is on the cards, which some fans are very excited about. We say “some” because other die-hards are still waiting on Barter 16, Luv Is Rage 3, and other projects that the Philly star teased over the past two years or so. Will any of these LPs eventually manifest or will we need to wait even longer for their next full-length effort? We shall see…

Meanwhile, we know that Lil Uzi Vert’s relationship with JT is still going strong, which continues to hearten a lot of fans. The former City Girl recently dropped a new project of her own, so we’ll see if her boo follows suit. Regardless, at least Pink Tape still carries some steam to hold fans over. Hopefully, it isn’t the only thing that they drop in the mid-2020s.

Lil Uzi Vert & Floyd Mayweather Sued For Alleged Assault, Uzi Denies Involvement

Lil Uzi Vert and Floyd Mayweather may not be in the headlines together often, other than a car purchase five years ago, but they allegedly found themselves in a sticky situation. Moreover, a man by the name of Abdullah Ali sued them and multiple Money Team employees for alleged assault in June of 2023 in New York City. He filed suit in New York as well, and the story goes that they allegedly beat Ali up when he approached a Mayweather-owned trailer across the street from a hotel, per what his attorneys Matthew Blit and Michael Rose relayed to TMZ Sports. Supposedly, when he began filming, a Rolls-Royce emerged from the trailer, and Uzi and the Money crew noticed him and told him to stop recording.

Furthermore, Ali alleges that a fight broke out after a verbal argument, and that a group of at least ten individuals, including Lil Uzi Vert, kicked and punched him down to the ground and took turns attacking him for over a minute. “Lil Uzi Vert doesn’t know Floyd Mayweather or have any form of affiliation with Mayweather’s Money Team, and was not at the site of the alleged incident,” a reported representative of the rapper’s team allegedly told TMZ. Ali’s team maintains that it’s unclear whether or not the YoungBoy rival was there at the scene of the alleged crime.

In addition, lawyers Blit and Rose claim that their client Ali sustained multiple injuries as a result of this alleged attack, including lost teeth and a necessary hospital trip to heal. His lawsuit seeks unspecified damages and he reported the incident to law enforcement, although they haven’t arrested anyone at press time. Lil Uzi Vert hasn’t spoken on this publicly at press time, although they’ve got bigger fish to fry these days. They might be celebrating the release of a new collab with Don Toliver as part of his expanded HARDSTONE PSYCHO album.

Meanwhile, Floyd Mayweather currently finds himself embroiled in beef with not just Gervonta Davis, but also 50 Cent’s tendency of relentless online trolling. We’re sure that all parties will handle the issue in kind, and we’re not expecting a reconciliation anytime soon. Still, it will be interesting to see how this legal situation develops, especially as Lil Uzi Vert’s team denied any and all involvement. Perhaps this will emerge as a big misunderstanding… or a major downplay.

Lil Uzi Vert & Sexyy Red Close Out 2023’s “Fire Emoji” Playlist With A Bang In New Update: Stream

Well, folks, we’ve finally made it: the final Fire Emoji playlist update of 2023 is a very short but very sweet one. As the year comes to a close this weekend, it’s a pretty slow week for new releases as folks celebrate and gear up for 2024. Still, there were four particularly great tracks to highlight this week that will surely help you end the year off with a bang. First up is Lil Uzi Vert’s “Red Moon,” which was once a YouTube exclusive for Christmas Day that eventually made its way to streaming services. It’s not as energetic or vibrant as we’re used to hearing from them these days, but it represents the Philly superstar’s other half: a moodier, more tender, emotive, and vulnerable melodic approach with some great drum-and-bass percussion.

Furthermore, another Fire Emoji highlight comes from none other than Sexyy Red, who is absolutely one of the year’s most dominant and important artists. Say what you will about the new Chief Keef-assisted remix of “Bow Bow Bow (F My Baby Daddy)” [or “F My Baby Mama” in this case], but you can’t deny the sheer impact that hits like this had in 2023. The Chicago legend comes through with a pretty charismatic performance, proving that he can still play with the younger crowd as one of its biggest influences. The song remains as good if not better than its original, and it will lead us into hopefully another great year for the St. Louis MC.

HNHH Fire Emoji Playlist: Stream

In addition, we had to shout out the title track on Conway The Machine, Westside Gunn, and The Alchemist’s collaborative project, Hall & Nash 2. Whether it’s the sharp and boisterous lyricism or the vintage and engrossing production, any song on this tape would’ve fit like a glove on Fire Emoji. What sets “Hall & Nash” apart on the tracklist is its deliberately patient, menacing, and almost Western-like beat, sampling some rattling, a guitar twang, and ghostly keys. Ahead of a revamped version of the same record apparently coming in 2024, we can’t recommend this Griselda and Uncle Al team-up enough.

Finally, one of the greatest lyricists writing and rapping today had to drop one more gem for us this year before closing it out. Boldy James came through with production help from Your Boy Posca on the single “They Vouching,” which is as lyrically grimy as it is sonically soothing thanks to wondrous flute melodies and ambient, persistent synth pads. Lil Uzi Vert Drops “Red Moon” Single & Music Video As A Special Christmas Gift

Merry Christmas to all if you celebrate, and even if you don’t, you have plenty of reasons to be happy if you’re a Lil Uzi Vert fan. Moreover, they just released a new single (not on streaming yet) and music video, “Red Moon,” which takes a pretty distinct direction compared to their other work. In fact, this is the track that the Philly superstar previewed just a couple of weeks ago, which samples Drake’s “7969 Santa” featuring Teezo Touchdown and Snoop Dogg off of For All The Dogs. In addition, they had mentioned that they finished filming the music video, and it seems like they couldn’t help but give fans this special present today.

Furthermore, given the “LIR3” text that appears towards the video’s end, it’s fair to assume that this is what truly kicks off the rollout for LUV Is Rage 3. Maybe it’ll be a while before the project drops, but Lil Uzi Vert used “Red Moon” to hint at their artistic direction and mental state. It’s a heart-ached relationship cut that sees them in their feelings, backed by a creative fusion of the aforementioned sample plus alternating trap and drum-and-bass percussion. As for the music video, the 28-year-old sits alone in their hotel room, travels the city around them, and runs on the beach toward the titular red moon.

From a visual standpoint, it’s a pretty simple but nonetheless engaging and creative presentation. After all, sometimes less is more, and seeing this more casual or pedestrian side to an artist is always an interesting perspective for us as fans to contrast with their usual flexing or grandeur. What’s more is that, now that Lil Uzi Vert seemingly doubled down on a soon-to-come retirement, these new songs will probably sting a little bit harsher. We hate to see them go, but we also know that this is by no means the end of their career, success, and fulfillment.

Meanwhile, Travis Scott recently brought the “Sanguine Paradise” hitmaker out for his Philly concert. It was absolutely electric, as there’s nothing quite like some hometown love to take a performance atmosphere to the next level. We’ll see what else is down the pipeline in the new year. However, a recent exchange with an expecting male-female during an autograph signing session with admirers might just beat the rest out. Moreover, as they signed something for a woman, she asked them to sign her baby bump, and the father was excitedly recording the request. It seems like the Philly MC was just as excited for the two as they were, as their face lit up. Not only that, but they also tried hard to find the perfect female baby name at their request, as they hadn’t thought of any yet.

In fact, Lil Uzi Vert was so committed to this that they asked their entourage to help out, and even some fans waiting for autographs contributed. Eventually, they came down to two choices: Pink- which would be a reference to their album from this year that they’re currently touring– or Ramona, a reference to one of their favorite movies and comic book series, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. Overall, it was a very wholesome thing to witness. It’s rare for couples to get a blessing from one of their favorite artists, and especially rare for it to be such a heartening affair.

Ironically enough, the “Fire Alarm” MC is expecting something of their own- but this might take longer than nine months, or hopefully shorter. Moreover, they are still teasing the release of Luv Is Rage 3, and that’s not even taking into account their promise to drop Barter 16. No matter how you slice it, Lil Uzi Vert has a lot on their plate for new releases, which is common for their rollout strategy after a new project. But at least fans have the long and varied Pink Tape to hold them over until then.

Meanwhile, even their label is begging them to not retire, and fans hope that Luv Is Rage 3 or Barter 16– whichever lands first- won’t be their last. Still, we doubt that the 28-year-old will completely disappear if they retire. After all, they clearly still love to connect with fans and have a lot of fun. City Girls’ latest interview with The Breakfast Club had a lot of bombshell moments, such as Yung Miami defending her controversial win at the 2023 BET Hip-Hop Awards this year for Best Hip-Hop Platform. However, that wasn’t all the drama they talked about- and not even the only BET Award-related bit they spoke on. Moreover, JT also addressed the incident at the 2023 BET Awards earlier in the year in which she threw a phone at her boo, Lil Uzi Vert. Many thought that this was because of their proximity to Ice Spice, which the City Girl denied. Regardless, now the Florida rapper came through with a full explanation.

“Okay, so let me tell y’all why I threw my phone at Uzi, for real,” JT told the radio show’s cohosts. “The reason I threw my phone at Uzi… [they] had to perform. So we get in there- and baby, I’m so sorry when I say this. Uzi is like a frantic kid. Like, [they] move around a lot and [they] play a lot. So when [they] got off stage, [they] came to me and [they] like, ‘Come on, let’s go, let’s go, let’s go.’ [They] were like, ‘Give me a kiss.’ I gave [them] a kiss and [they’re] like, ‘We finna go, let’s go, let’s go.’ I’m like, what? The show just started. Then I had on this big-a** dress, I had on a huge dress. So I’m thinking that [they] leaving and [they] sending somebody back to come get me.
