Lil Durk Attends Swearing In Ceremony For New Chicago Mayor

Lil Durk has been making moves to make lives better. Last week, Lil Durk and J. Cole finally released their collaboration, “All My Life.” Interestingly, some speculated that this track could potentially become Lil Durk’s first number-one hit. The two rappers also filmed a music video for the song, which features a chorus of children singing the hook. The single’s production was helmed by renowned pop producer Dr. Luke.

In the song, Lil Durk reflects on his journey to fame and his determination to reshape public perception of him. In an interview with XXL, Durk expressed that the track serves as a reflection of his recent experiences and his desire for personal growth. Additionally, he discussed the challenge of finding the right artist to feature on the song. Durk explained, “Dr. Luke produced it. We were just trying to figure out who would be the perfect fit for the second verse… I feel like Cole can bring the energy that I’m looking for to it.” The song is a marked change and very much the opposite direction of Durk’s supposed rival, NBA YoungBoy. The rapper seems to be focusing on the betterment of his life and the lives of those around him.

Durk Shows Up In Support Of The New Mayor Of Chicago

Recently, it was reported that Lil Durk had met with the mayor-elect of Chicago. While some suggested that this might be part of album promotion, the rapper was clear that it had nothing to do with his music. “It ain’t album promo it’s saving kids lives,” Durk said in a comment on a picture of himself and the Chicago mayor-elect. Well, at the very least, it looks as though the two forged some sort of connection in their initial meeting.

Today, Lil Durk attended the swearing in ceremony for the new Chicago mayor. The two posed for pictures together after the event. In the post above from DJ Akademiks’ Instagram, the rapper shakes the mayor’s hand and makes small talk with the politician and his staff. It is unclear what the two have planned after their meeting and Durk’s subsequent visit to the ceremony. However, it does seem that the rapper wants to do everything he can to improve the lives of Chicago’s children. What do you think of Lil Durk’s new venture? Let us know in the comments!

Lil Durk Alleges That Record Labels Have Tried To Pay Him To ‘Beef With’ Other Rappers For Promotion

Lil Durk is almost healed from the past traumas of losing his friends and family to gun violence, or so his forthcoming album’s title suggests. But, unfortunately, in hip-hop, beef is what moves the promotional needle forward. The rapper has had his fair share of high-profile feuds, including longstanding tension with NBA YoungBoy and social media disputes with Tekashi 69 and Soulja Boy. Still, Durk alleges that he has been offered money to participate in a few. Taking to Twitter, he wrote, “Labels try to pay me to beef. I just can’t fake it. I’m different. I’m him. Unpredictable.”

Later in the day, he returned to the platform to post, “Automatic support get y’all munyun (money) together all that other cap is bap,” many fans believing that Durk was closing out his initial post.

Over the past few years, the “All My Life” rapper has begun to publicize his advocacy work. While some have criticized his motives, Durk has maintained that it is to showcase his positive work, highlighting that he is much more than the beef he’s been linked to. Some of those efforts included meeting with his hometown Chicago’s mayor-elect Brandon Johnson, to discuss programs for the city’s children. Another was the formation of his HBCU-focused scholarship.

21 Savage Gives J. Cole His Flowers For Verse On Lil Durk’s “All My Life”

All My Life” by Lil Durk and J. Cole might just be the most anticipated and buzzed-about hip-hop drop of the week. Of course, ever since the Chicago native teased a collab with the North Carolina lyricist at the Dreamville Festival in early April, fans clamored for it to release. Now, ahead of Durk’s next album Almost Healed, this single will hold them over and keep them excited for what’s to come on that project. Of course, such a notable collab was bound to turn heads within the industry as well. For example, 21 Savage recently took to Twitter to praise the “on the street” MC for his contributions to the track.

“Cole just went so crazy on that verse wtf,” 21 wrote on Twitter shortly after the song’s release. Listeners definitely agree, as the social media platform flooded with awed and impressed reactions to the collab. It’s definitely a more introspective and heartfelt offering than some of Lil Durk’s more overtly aggressive or boastful tracks. However, that’s not to say that such themes were never there in the first place. J. Cole and 21 Savage also have songs and tours together, which makes their respect for each other that much more meaningful.

21 Savage Praises J. Cole’s Verse On “All My Life” By Lil Durk

In addition to the Atlanta MC, Smurk himself also had some words to say about J. Cole’s verse. In fact, he had a pretty hilarious admission to make, and goes to show that rappers have to be humble when necessary, as well. “The number one thing, he smoked my a** on that, for one,” Lil Durk expressed. “Barely. That barely happens. But shoutout to Cole, shoutout to [Dr.] Luke. We made it happen.” From what people like 21 Savage have said, it’s not hard to see why.

Meanwhile, the “One Mic, One Gun” rhymer recently popped out at Young Nudy’s concert in Atlanta to play a standout collab of his own. The two performed “Peaches & Eggplants” off of Nudy’s recent album, Gumbo. Hopefully he can link with either Durk or Cole soon, and maybe he will be the one with the highlight verse this time around. Regardless, log back into HNHH for the latest on Lil Durk, 21 Savage, and J. Cole.

Lil Durk & India Royale Team Up For Mother’s Day

Many people online believe that Lil Durk and India Royale are back together after a few different teases. First, there was a picture of a mystery woman on an Instagram post from the Chicago MC that got many theorizing. Moreover, the two just uploaded a video together for Soulé, a creole-infused soul food restaurant in Chicago, ahead of Mother’s Day. Presumably from their message, the two are paying for mothers’ food at the location, and wished all the mothers out there a fantastic day. Regardless of whether they’re back together or not, the two clearly have more important and beneficial things on their mind together.

Another reason why many think that Smurk and India are back together is because they were recently spotted on a stroll. Given how much the rapper lamented the loss of the relationship, hopefully they are focusing, if anything, on building a solid and amicable relationship together before diving into anything. After all, it’s entirely possible for them to just be on the best terms and support each other in their endeavors. In fact, the entrepreneur reposted the music video for Lil Durk’s most recent drop, the single “All My Life” with J. Cole.

India Royale & Lil Durk Are Giving Back To Their Community On Mother’s Day

Furthermore, this continues the two’s streak of community efforts to help uplift those in need in any way they can. Considering how much many families struggle in their day-to-day, free meals mean a lot, especially on a mother’s special day. Another one of Lil Durk’s charitable works was giving Howard University $350,000 in scholarships and grants. Ultimately, many fans are waiting for official confirmation on their relationship and whether they’re back together. However, it’s great to see them focus on other things as well and use their joint platform for more pressing needs.

Unfortunately, there are those out there that would rather bash them, even if it’s just because of rap beef proximity. NBA YoungBoy recently dissed both of them in a savage Twitter tirade, for which he had no business dragging Royale into. Regardless, it seems like Durk is largely unfazed by his attacks, and clearly saving his energy for more fruitful endeavors. Regardless, check back in with HNHH for the latest news and updates on Lil Durk and India Royale.

Lil Durk Claims Labels Tried To Pay Him To Beef With Other Rappers

Lil Durk is currently riding a massive wave of acclaim and anticipation, as he’s fully in album more. Moreover, he released the single “All My Life” with J. Cole this week, and fans loved it. As we wait for his next album Almost Healed, which drops on May 26, he seems ready to take on the world- but he’s the only one who will reap the benefits. On Friday (May 12), the Chicago MC tweeted a startling revelation that, if true, speaks to his character and integrity. Apparently rap beef is quite the lucrative business, and labels tried to convince Smurk with some cash to indulge in it on their orders.

“Labels try to pay me to beef I just can’t fake it I’m different I’m him unpredictable,” he wrote on the social media platform. Given his public commitment to keeping it real and sticking by his crew, Lil Durk is no stranger to beef. While this claim might surprise many, it’s also clear that if he’s going to feud with someone, it’ll be purely by his own making and not for clout. After all, The New York Times reported that rap beef makes the industry a whopping $1.6 billion a year, so of course big labels would circle around it like vultures.

Lil Durk’s Smoke Can’t Be Bought By The Higher-Ups

Still, labels can’t buy Lil Durk, and whatever beef he engaged in is for his conscience and independent image alone. For example, Soulja Boy recently took some shots at Durkio, starting what is so far a one-sided spat. Also, he recently offered longtime rival 6ix9ine $50 million to get in the ring with him. Whether you agree with his moves or not, it’s always his decision and not a part of his wider musical moves.

Of course, we can’t forget the feud between The Voice and NBA YoungBoy, which almost resulted in a sales battle this week. Even though the 30-year-old pushed his album back (much to YB’s happiness), he arguably had the more hyped release this week. Regardless, that battle will likely continue for a long time, and no label could ever hope to replicate that just for some money. Perkio Will Fight 6ix9ine If Lil Durk Pays For It

If Lil Durk has a million fans, then Perkio is one of them. If Lil Durk has one fan, then Perkio is that one fan. If Lil Durk has no fans, that means Perkio is dead. The Lil Durk’s doppelganger has often taken his love of the rapper to the extreme. Previously, Perkio has said that if Lil Durk is single, he’s single too. It’s clear that Perkio is ready to stand in solidarity with Lil Durk, no matter the cost or occasion.

However, not everyone is a fan of Perkio. One of Perkio’s biggest detractors is 6ix9ine, who has been beefing with look-a-like since April 2022. This beef has consequently bled over into 6ix9ine’s beef with the actual Lil Durk. However, Perkio has seemingly moved away from being “Fake Lil Durk” in recent weeks, debuting a brand-new look in late April.

Perkio Steps Up After Fight Offer Goes Unmet

Perkio might have a new look, but he’s still got Lil Durk’s back. Recently, Lil Durk offered to fight 6ix9ine for a $50 million purse fronted entirely by Durk. However, 6ix9ine declined, stating that he was not interested in a public spectacle or Durk’s money. “Come to Miami let’s get a hotel room and just throw down 1 on 1,” 6ix9ine counter-offered. Despite the rise in novelty boxing matches between celebrities, neither Durk or 6ix9ine is yet to participate.

However, Perkio is here to pick up Durk’s discarded gloves. Taking to Instagram, Perkio voiced his willingness to fight in Durk’s place. “Love Durk so much I’ll beat 69 free if twin put up the cash,” Perkio wrote over a picture of him flashing his chains and giving the camera the finger. Perkio’s offer fills the conditions of 6ix9ine – a free fight away from the public eye. Despite Perkio’s gallantry, it remains to be seen if 6ix9ine has any interest in fighting the look-a-like when his beef is with the real deal Lil Durk. 6ix9ine has yet to respond to the fight offer. However, if he does, you’ll find all the details here on HotNewHipHop.
