Ed Sheeran And Lil Baby Go Overseas To Show Off Their ‘2Step’ In Their Cheery New Video
Towards the end of last year, Ed Sheeran arrived with his fifth album =. The project was his first full-length release since 2019’s No. 6 Collaborations Project, and with =, Sheeran successfully secured his fifth straight No. 1 album. Unlike most of his past albums, = was an entirely solo release which might have come as a disappointment to some who hoped to hear Sheeran work with some of his peers. Thankfully, has been Sheeran making up for that with his past releases including his latest one.
Nearly six months after he dropped =, Sheeran returns with Lil Baby beside him for a remix of “2Step.” On it, Lil Baby arrives for the song’s second half and provides a verse that compliments Sheeran’s warm invitation to dance to a significant other. The remix also arrives with a music video, which Sheeran revealed was shot in Ukraine through a message at that video’s start. He noted that the visual was done before Russia invaded Ukraine, but moved by a stay in which he “felt so welcomed,” Sheeran revealed that he would donate “record royalties from YouTube streams of the video to DEC’s Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.”
The remix of “2Step” arrives after Sheeran released an updated take of “The Joker And The Queen” with Taylor Swift. Elsewhere, he also collaborated with Camila Cabello for “Bam Bam” and J Balvin for a pair of songs, “Sigue” and “Forever My Love.”
You can check out the remix to “2Step” in the video above.

Lil Baby Earns His 100th Song On The Hot 100 Chart, Which Only A Few Artists Have Ever Done
Jack Harlow is the toast of this week’s Billboard Hot 100 chart: It was revealed yesterday that “First Class” debuted in the No. 1 spot, making it the second chart-topper of his career so far. That said, if you peek a bit past the top 10 entries of the current chart, it looks like Harlow’s No. 1 may not actually be the week’s biggest accomplishment.
Lil Baby debuted two songs on the Hot 100 this week: “Right On” at No. 13 and “In A Minute” at No. 14. That in itself is nice but doesn’t seem like an especially huge deal. Looking at the big picture, though, it actually is, as those songs are Baby’s 99th and 100th to appear on the chart.
This feat puts Baby in rare territory, as only a handful of artists (12, counting him) have ever landed 100 or more songs on the Hot 100 in their career: Drake (who has 260 entries on the chart), Glee (207), Lil Wayne (180), Taylor Swift (166), Kanye West (135), Future (132), Nicki Minaj (123), Elvis Presley (109), Chris Brown (107), Jay-Z (104), Justin Bieber (103), and now, Lil Baby (100).

104, Jay-Z
103, @justinbieber

Also worth noting is how early in his career Baby reached 100 entries: His first single was only just released in 2017. The next “youngest” (in terms of when their first single was released) artist on the list is Future, whose debut single arrived in 2011. He’s actually the youngest (in terms of actual age) solo artist to do it, too, but just barely: When Bieber got his 100th Hot 100 song on July 20, 2021, he was 27 years, 4 months, and 19 days old, which was the record at the time. When Baby did it yesterday, he was 27 years, 4 months, and 15 days old, a mere four days younger than Bieber was.

Lil Baby, City Girls, And Cordae Showed A Broad Cross-Section Of Hip-Hop On Coachella’s First Day
With the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival returning for the first time in three years, it looks like the organizers’ have adjusted their hip-hop strategy. While in past years, the festival has gambled a bit more on rising stars in the genre like Aminé and Dej Loaf, this year, the focus shifted to providing more established stars like City Girls, Cordae, and Lil Baby.
This isn’t a bad thing at all, though. While day one of the 2022 Coachella Festival only sported a handful of rap acts, by honing in on more proven quantities, the festival offered an excellent cross-section of samples of where the genre currently is, with one or two glimpses at where it could be going.
Whereas rap acts are usually spread pretty evenly around the festival grounds, this year, it appears there was a more streamlined concept. The majority of the rap acts who appeared did so on the Sahara stage; the only two exceptions were Princess Nokia and Lil Baby. Nokia was upgraded from the tiny Sonora tent to the main stage, albeit for an early afternoon set, while Lil Baby played a primetime set on the main stage that felt too early in hindsight.
Lil Baby’s impressive set appeared to incorporate some of the lessons he’d learned during his recent Back Outside arena tour. The set design was more ambitious, depicting a busy trap house motel, and Baby’s performance was much more fluid and animated, suggesting that he’s grown in confidence and settled into himself as a showman. Though it was light on guests, Gunna did appear to perform “Drip Too Hard” and “Pushin P,” to a predictable massive crowd pop.
However, when compared to the much more low-key Daniel Caesar set that followed, it felt like Baby perhaps should have been the penultimate performer ahead of Harry Styles. The drop in energy coincided with a drop in temperatures as the desert wind picked up; I think going with the higher energy set into the headliner could have improved the reception of both.
Meanwhile, on the Sahara stage, a strong lineup started with City Girls, running through Cordae, South African DJ Black Coffee, Baby Keem, and Big Sean. The only thing that seemed out of order was not starting with Cordae. His live band-backed set was as strong as any I’ve seen, but by the time he hit the stage, the exuberant crowd from City Girls had thinned considerably.
Understandably, curating a massive festival like this takes work. But it does seem that a more experienced hand could have benefitted the sequencing for the hip-hop acts to keep the energy building. Fans who enjoyed upbeat renditions of tracks like “Twerkulator” and “Said Sum” (with surprise guest Moneybagg Yo) didn’t stick around to watch Cordae perform Lost Boy staples like “Thanksgiving” and From A Bird’s Eye View cut “C Carter” — maybe they should have because Cordae’s versatility is always impressive and perhaps City Girls fans would enjoy high-energy fare like “Scottie Pippen” and “Kung-Fu.”
While I’m sure there’s at least some overlap between Cordae’s fans and those of City Girls, that part of the Venn diagram is thin enough that booking them back-to-back wound up appearing awkward – at least, until Cordae’s more hardcore fans and curious heads finally filled the Sahara tent back up.
What did work well was concentrating the hip-hop acts to one or two stages and spreading them out sufficiently enough to allow someone interested mostly in seeing hip-hop to take in most of the sets. I missed Baby Keem, but only because I was so curious to see how Daniel Caesar would handle the big stage with some mellow tunes (the answer is “not well,” but not because his performance wasn’t good. It was just stuck after an electrifying performance from Lil Baby). Ideally, this could be the strategy in the future, too.
Obviously, spreading the acts more evenly between the main stage and Sahara could encourage more movement for hip-hop heads to check out other genres, while omnivores wouldn’t have to zigzag all over the polo grounds. Instead, the hip-hop acts could simply be a home base to return to at either end of the field. As long as someone in booking has a grasp of where acts are in their careers and how their respective sounds compare and complement each other, this new, streamlined strategy could make finding hip-hop at the biggest festival easier and more enjoyable than ever.

Lil Baby’s “I’m Coming” Tweet Appears On a Billboard
Lil Baby has been teasing us with music all year, and apparently, that time is arriving. A few weeks ago, Lil Baby made a tweet that read, “I’m coming,” now, that same tweet has been seen on a billboard somewhere.
It’s unclear when and where the billboard was seen and made, but it’s clear that the 4PF president is on his way with new music.
Although Lil Baby hasn’t dropped a project all year, he has been dropping music. Earlier this year, the 27-year-old lyricist did drop two new tracks, “Right On” and “In a Minute.”
Lil Baby’s last project came in 2021 when he collaborated with Lil Durk for their joint project, The Voice of the Heroes, which featured appearances from Meek Mill, Travis Scott, and Rod Wave. The project reached the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 its first week and moved an estimated 150,000 total album-equivalent units earned, most acquired by streams.
Lil Baby’s last solo project came in 2020 when he dropped My Turn. In February, the project was one of the year’s biggest releases and was certified 4x platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The album featured appearances from Gunna, 42 Dugg, Future, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Wayne, Moneybagg Yo, Young Thug, and Rylo Rodriguez.

Lil Baby Returns With “In A Minute” & “Right On” Singles
Lil Baby Drops Two New Records “Right On” And “In A Minute”
The game is about to change again. Always one to make an entrance, GRAMMY® Award-winning chart-dominating multiplatinum force of nature Lil Baby returns with two new records today entitled “Right On” and “In A Minute” via Quality Control Music Group/Wolfpack Global Music/Motown Records. He also unleashes music videos to accompany each respective track. Listen to “Right On” HERE and watch the music video HERE. Listen to “In A Minute” HERE and watch the music video HERE.
Following a series of mega chart-topping collaborations, these two songs mark his first new solo music of 2022. During “Right On,” he rips through bars with infectious intensity, tearing up the orchestral production and punchy 808s. Affirming his place in the culture, he promises, “I ain’t about that fake shit, I’d rather keep it real,” as he urges, “Tell the police I don’t do nothing, I been selling these songs.” In many ways, one statement sums it up, “I’m way better than last time.” This confidence and charisma carry over to the music video where he cruises in the Rolls Royce in the very same neighborhood of Oakland City, Atlanta, GA where he grew up. He mentions at the beginning of the track and raps from the backseat before turning up in a parking lot as fleet of luxury cars surround him.
Then, there’s the introspective and incisive “In A Minute.” Ominous piano and airy harmonies brush up against his intense delivery as he declares, “I’m in a different league. I’m tired of showing what I can get done, what you gonna do for me?” accompanied with a cinematic visual.
Just last week, he notably picked up his very first GRAMMY® Award in the category of “Best Melodic Rap Performance” for “Hurricane” with Kanye West and The Weeknd.
