Billie Eilish, The 1975, And Lil Baby Are Among The Headliners For Music Midtown’s 2023 Festival

Music Midtown, an annual festival at Atlanta’s Piedmont Park, has officially unveiled the 2023 lineup. And fans have a lot to be excited about. Billie Eilish, The 1975, P!nk, Lil Baby, Flume, and Guns N’ Roses are headlining the three-day festival, which runs September 15 to 17.

Other acts playing that weekend include Pitbull, Niall Horan, Tove Lo, Thirty Seconds To Mars, JID, Incubus, GloRilla, Destroy Lonely, Fletcher, Lizzy McAlpine, Louis The Child, and many more. Considering the performers span a range of genres, there is an opportunity for various music lovers to catch some of their favorite acts — or even a fun new discovery.

The Music Midtown will also be offering some extra thrills besides just music. Keeping with festival tradition, their food vendors will have options for vegetarians and vegans. There will also be “interactive experiences” on the grounds and a ferris wheel to take in the city views.

Fans can now sign up for presale opportunities for 3-day passes and a “limited number” of single-day tickets, according to a press release. There are also GA+, VIP, and Super VIP pass tiers, which include exclusive entrances, viewing areas, complimentary drinks, and more special perks. The presale will open this Thursday, May 18 at 10 a.m. ET. If tickets remain, a general on-sale will be held.

Lil Baby’s New Single, “Go Hard,” Sets The Tone For Our Latest “Fire Emoji” Playlist

The first New Music Friday of May has certainly brought with it plenty of evidence that our favourite lyricists aren’t coming to play this month. From must-hear new projects landing by DaBaby, Destroy Lonely, and Conway the Machine to singles arriving via Belly, IDK, and Lil Baby, we’ve got plenty to get into on this weekend’s Fire Emoji playlist update. Leading the way is the latter, Atlanta-based artist, who dropped off “Go Hard” this past Wednesday.

Besides new music from the My Turn hitmaker, we also selected a must-listen joint from Conway’s WON’T HE DO IT project. Our personal favourite is “Brooklyn Chop House” featuring Fabolous and Benny The Butcher, though we also spotlighted “Brucifix” on our new releases panel. Following that comes a collaborative effort from JELEEL! and Chow Lee, called “CONFETTI!,” as well as a solo effort from Belly, “Ambiance.”

As for other noteworthy joint titles, “Pissy” from Gucci Mane, Nardo Wick, and Roddy Ricch comes to mind, along with “Pinot Noir” from IDK, Jucee Froot, and Saucy Santana. We also heard SleazyWorld Go tap Polo G for “Off The Court,” and Lil Uzi Vert makes serious waves with their work on Snow Strippers’ “It’s A Dream.” From DaBaby’s CALL DA FIREMAN EP, we’ve been loving his “SELLIN CRACK” collaboration with Offset. Finally, from Destroy Lonely’s highly anticipated If Looks Could Kill album, we’ve picked two songs for your streaming consideration.

The first, “superstar,” appears midway through our list. At the very end, you’ll find our other choice – “money & sex – bonus” with Ken Carson. Of the 26 titles on the 21-year-old’s project, it’s the only one he included a feature on, letting his captivating presence, lyrical abilities and confidence carry him through the rest on his own. Tap into our weekly Fire Emoji playlist update on Spotify, and let us know if there are any other titles you would’ve added in the comments. Lil Baby x Axe Collaborate To Launch “Shonen Baby” Manga

Lil Baby x AXE

Atlanta rapper Lil Baby has partnered with men’s personal care brand Axe to create a new manga character named “Shonen Baby.” This collaboration follows their previous partnership in creating an anime series called All Axcess with Lil Baby in September 2022.  Axe’s Twitter account announced that they will launch the new manga character “Shonen Baby” […]

Lil Baby Is Starring In A Manga You Can Only Read If You Buy Axe

Celebrity endorsements are nothing new in the world of advertising. But the most memorable adverts are the ones that are just a little weird. Take, for example, the trend started by Travis Scott of “celebrity McDonald’s meals”. Scott was the first celebrity signed to endorse McDonald’s. “The Travis Scott” was so popular that it caused supply shortages. The fast-food chain has since launched “The J Balvin”, “The BTS”, “The Saweetie”, “The Mariah Carey”, and “The Cardi B and Offset“.

But what if we took things one step further? What if there was an exclusive celebrity product that could only be accessed by buying a product? Again, purchase-exclusive rewards are nothing new. There have been plenty of advertising campaigns where get something extra, or the chance to win something, for buying a specific product. But the recently-announced collaboration between Lil Baby and Axe might just take the cake.

Introducing “Shōnen Baby” By Axe

So there’s a lot to unpack here. Lil Baby has teamed up with Axe to create a manga called Shōnen Baby. They have advertised it on social media by giving the rapper an anime transformation. Shōnen is a genre of manga primarily targeted at teenage boys. Mangas in the shōnen genre are typically heavy on action and adventure. Popular examples include “the big three” of Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece. Honestly, it’s a great combination for Axe, which has a reputation for being the go-to deodorant for teenage boys.

The collaboration is part of the promotion for Axe’s fine fragrance line. This line includes scents such as blue lavender, golden mango, and aqua bergamot. To gain access to Shōnen Baby, individuals need to purchase a valid Axe product at Walmart and upload a picture of their receipt to Axe’s website. That will grant them access to a digital download of the manga when it releases on July 11. According to Axe’s website, receipts must be uploaded by June 15. Axe has not released any further details about the manga itself. However, the idea of a Lil Baby manga is just weird enough to make you want to buy an Axe product.

Lil Baby’s Love Of Anime Became More Official With His Own ‘Shonen Baby’ Manga, In Partnership With Axe

Lil Baby dropped the video for “Go Hard” last week. In the track, Baby raps, “Need a Nike deal how I’m runnin’ sh*t,” but he should be perfectly happy with his ongoing Axe partnership.

Earlier this week, Axe and Baby announced they have collaborated on a forthcoming manga, Shonen Baby, due out July 11.

According to ComicBook, the collaboration is meant to commemorate Axe’s “new Fine Fragrance Collection at Walmart.” Fans must purchase an Axe product from the collection at Walmart to gain access to the manga, which will officially be available for download “during an exclusive invite-only virtual launch event” this summer.

The report continues, “Produced by Passion Pictures with artist Future Power Station and Lil Baby in tow, Shonen Baby is teased as a manga that taps into the aspects of Shonen action manga releases. Shonen Baby sees Lil Baby and AXE ’embark on a unique journey to save Atlanta from the evil Culture Vultures out to drain the city of its juice, while unlocking their inner G.O.A.T. (Greatest of All Time).’ Lil Baby will be tapping into special powers for the manga as well.”

If anybody is qualified to save Atlanta, it’s Baby, who already has his own day recognized by the city.

Axe’s official website has initiated a countdown clock to the Shonen Baby release and laid out all the necessary steps: purchase any qualifying Axe product via Walmart before May 31, upload proof of receipt by June 15, and voila, “unlock the Ll Baby experience.”

Axe has served as a vessel for Baby to express his love for anime before. Last September, as relayed by Revolt, Axe and Baby generated “three animated digital episodes” to “give people an inside look into some of [Lil Baby’s] most distinct memories associated with Axe scents.”

Baby said in a statement at the time, “I’ve always been a big fan of anime, so having Axe turn some of my intimate memories and thoughts into an animated mini-series is kind of surreal.”

Gervonta Davis Speaks On Viral Lil Baby Clip

Gervonta Davis recently earned his right to be the king of the boxing mountain. Davis defeated Ryan Garcia in a heavily talked about bout to determine the lightweight king. The fight had everything you would expect to see at a boxing spectacle. Immaculate introductions for both fighters. Celebrities hovering around the ring to witness one of the biggest fights of the year. However, now is the time for celebrating. Or, making fun of a friend that went viral before the fight.

Lil Baby stood in the corner of Davis for the big fight. However, before the fight camera was locked in on watching the lightweight champion. But, sometimes, when you’re famous, the camera may catch you. For Lil Baby, he was caught in the moment. The rapper was seen giving his best shadowboxing performance while watching his friend warm up. Getting caught up in the moment can be easily done. Check out Davis’ comments on the viral moment in the video below.

Gervonta Davis Has Some Fun With Lil Baby

Davis mentioned that the moment can happen to anyone. Stating when a fan sees a good catch in a football game that, they may try to re-live the moment. The new lightweight king believes it was just a moment of pure excitement from a friend that enjoys watching him put in the work. “Tank” put an end to Garcia in the seventh round of their highly anticipated bout. The moment was a shock to the entire boxing community.

The bout lived up to the expectations of all the fans. The boxing world got their answer on who really is the best in the division. While still creating little storylines along the way. According to Oscar De La Hoya, he received death threats shortly after the fight. While Bernard Hopkins was banned from the fight after a dust-up at the weigh-in ceremony. Now another story will live forever on the night Gervonta Davis took down Ryan Garcia. For just a moment, Lil Baby had dreams of being a boxing bad boy. Lil Baby Throws A Debauched Yacht Party In His Relentless ‘Go Hard’ Video

Fans who were worried about a potential curse on Lil Baby can rest easy; if his video for “Go Hard” is anything to judge by, his skills as a rapper and a hitmaker remain untarnished. The new track is vintage Lil Baby, with a string of breathless verses in which he insists he “Need a Nike deal how I’m runnin’ sh*t” and that he’s “savin’ the ghetto” framed by yet another relentless hook asserting he’s “back goin’ hard again” (a running theme in his music).

Meanwhile, if fans thought that his photo op with the Kardashians meant a romantic entanglement, the visuals for “Go Hard” should lay those worries to rest as well. Baby and his crew throw a yacht party with all the debauchery of an Atlanta strip club, amped by what could very well be international waters. Very scantily clad women twerk all over the boat, proving there’s more motion in the ocean (sorry, I couldn’t leave that one on the table). It’s a wonder the ship doesn’t capsize from all that rocking.

“Go Hard” is thought to appear on Lil Baby’s next album ever since he previewed the track on Instagram in 2020. It certainly appears to be his first original song since releasing It’s Only Me in October, although he dropped a video for “Forever” with Fridayy in February. Could a new Lil Baby era already be on the way? Considering his philosophy about going hard, it’s not out of the question.
