Kanye West Asked Travis Scott Not To Work With Drake, According To One Of His Oldest Collaborators

Kanye West and Drake may be (mostly) all buddy-buddy now, but it wasn’t so long ago that they were feuding so fiercely that West asked some of his closest collaborators — including Travis Scott — not to work with Drake at all.

According to fellow Chicagoan and frequent Ye collaborator Malik Yusef, West apparently took to (unsuccessfully) banning his various peers and proteges from collaborating with the Canadian star. Yusef appeared on the Rap Today With Francis podcast, where he tried to explain some of West’s more controversial behavior over the past few years, including recent antisemitic remarks in the media.

“I think [the antisemitic comments] were for Drake [who is Jewish],” he elaborated. “That’s what I think. I don’t know who else you would say that was. I have never directly worked with Drake ’cause Kanye asked me not to. He said, ‘Please don’t go work directly with Drake.’ I said, ‘Okay.’ ‘Cause Kanye’s brother, but I love Drake too, though. He asked Travis [Scott] the same thing, but Travis said no.”

As far as why Kanye had it out for Drake for so long, Yusef is as stumped as the rest of us. “I think that Drake loves Kanye, and that Kanye hates that Drake loves him,” he reckoned. “I don’t feel like him being angry with Drake has any credence, because Drake has been nothing but kind and good and a good student of Kanye, so I don’t know where the anger comes from. ’He took my style!’ Okay, cool. Drake takes everybody’s style. To me, Drake has his own unique style — it’s a hodgepodge of several different styles.”

Malik Yusef was an early and frequent collaborator of Kanye’s, appearing on Kanye’s debut album The College Dropout and on the GOOD Music compilation Cruel Summer. West also produced much of Yusef’s second album GOOD Morning, GOOD Night. Kanye’s ongoing dispute with Drake appeared to have been settled with their Free Larry Hoover concert in LA a few years ago, but if Yusef’s right, it appears that West may still harbor some resentment for his longtime frenemy.

Julia Fox Made A Surprising Confession About Her Sex Life With Kanye West

Remember when Kanye West and Julia Fox dated? That was a fun three months? six months? seven years? (you could tell me it lasted any amount of time and I would believe you) of our lives. Since the breakup, Fox has revealed that the reason she started the relationship was to distract the rapper from bugging his ex-wife and mother of his kids, Kim Kardashian (“I was like, oh my god, maybe I can get him off of Kim’s case”).

Fox also recently confessed that she and West never had sex.

In an interview with the New York Times, Fox was asked if she always knew sex was going to play a big part in her memoir, Down the Drain. “I felt like it was the truth. Why not write it?” she answered. “I have this thing where, in my personal writing, I don’t go into as much detail as I could. I’m like: ‘This crazy thing happened. OK, moving on…’ So I made it a point to put the reader in the room. I didn’t want to skip over things. So maybe some things are too detailed.” There’s nothing about Fox’s sex life with West, however. “Because there, like, wasn’t any,” the Uncut Gems star said. “It wasn’t really about that.”

They were too busy hoarding the world’s supply of denim to have sex.

Down the Drain comes out on October 10th.

Kanye West has no shame in pushing boundaries, but as of late, Europeans appear to be fed up with his fashion choices. The father of four is already under investigation for exposing his bare bottom while on a boat ride in Italy, and his wife, Bianca Censori, continues to attract near-constant criticism for leaving little to the imagination in her sheer outfits. Ye and his other half haven’t spoken out publicly about the situation, however, they continue to shamelessly cause a stir.

The “Stronger” hitmaker was most recently out and about at Milan Fashion Week. There, he continued his pattern of covering up his face in an intricately wrapped t-shirt. The unconventional look is certainly convenient to help West keep a low profile, but according to DailyMail, authorities are taking issue with his latest look too. “Under anti-terror and public order legislation wearing anything that ‘hampers an individual’s identification’ is illegal and punishable by a maximum fine of up to 2,000 Euros,” the outlet noted on Sunday (September 24).

Kanye West Attempts to Lay Low at Fashion Week

Besides his appearance at Fashion Week, Yeezy has also donned similar face coverings in the cities of Venice and Florence. The former is where he and Censori are in hot water with police for being caught in a “compromising position” in a water taxi. At the time, the Australian was kneeling in front of her husband, leading some to assume they were taking their PDA a bit too far.

Kanye West has been finishing up his first summer as Bianca Censori’s husband in Europe. Overseas, the couple’s outfits have been nothing short of head-turning. Earlier in September they made an appearance at London Fashion Week. The father of four notably surprised other Mowalola show patrons by teasing upcoming music. It’s unclear when he plans to release his latest work, but as it turns out, there are still previously unreleased tracks from Ye’s DONDA era that are only just now seeing the light of day.

As HipHopDX reports, DONDA: With Child, a visual album directed by Vanessa Beecroft leaked online on Thursday (September 21). It was initially expected to arrive on streamers in 2020. However, it’s now recognized as an early version of West’s DONDA, which landed in 2021 after a particularly tumultuous rollout. The rapper’s late mother is heard several times throughout the 35-minute effort. Listeners also received different versions of popular songs like “Off the Grid” and “Hurricane.”

Adidas CEO Bjørn Gulden Said He Doesn’t Think Kanye West ‘Meant What He Said’ In His Antisemitic Comments

Following a series of antisemitic comments, Kanye West has fallen out of favor with the general public — and with many of his collaborators. After the comments, Adidas, who was carrying West’s Yeezy shoes and fashion line, cut ties with West. Despite the dissolution of this partnership, Adidas CEO Bjørn Gulden had nothing but positive things to say about West.

During an interview on Nicolai Tungen’s In Good Company podcast, Gulden spoke highly of West, lauding his creativity.

“I think Kanye West is one of the most creative people in the world,” said Gulden. “And both in music and what I call street culture. So he’s extremely creative and has together with Adi created a Yeezy line that was very successful… I don’t think he meant what he said and I don’t think he’s a bad person, it just came across that way.”

Gulden mourned the end of the Yeezy collaboration but expressed gratitude for the partnership.

“That meant we lost that business,” said Gulden. “One of the most successful collabs in history — very sad. But again, when you work with third parties that can happen. It’s part of the game. That can happen with an athlete, that can happen with an entertainer. It’s part of the business.”

Kim Kardashian may have a new boo, Odell Beckham Jr. Reports have not placed them directly in a relationship, but has stated they are “hanging out.”

According to PEOPLE, the “hanging out” follows Beckham Jr.’s split with his model girlfriend Lauren Wood, who he shares a son with.

The two are stated to have mutual friends linking the two, but TMZ notes in 2021 Kardashian went to a couple of Rams games when Beckham played for the Los Angeles Rams. Beckham now suits up for the Baltimore Ravens.

Most recently, an NSFW picture caught Kanye West with his butt out in a compromising position on a boat. TMZ caught up with Kim Kardashian’s team, who stated she could care less.

According to a source, Kim only cares about co-parenting with Ye, contrasting previous reports that she was upset by the images that surfaced from Italy.

Kanye West was caught with his pants down, literally. Paparazzi in Italy caught Ye with his pants down during a boat ride. Page Six Notes Ye’s butt was exposed to those close, with both quickly escaping once they reached the dock.
