Kanye and Adidas have been at odds for years since their partnership. The company cut ties with Ye officially following his antisemitic comments in 2022. More recently, West called out the company for continuing to sell its stock of the Yeezy Boost 350. “Anybody who loves Ye would not buy these fake Yeezys,” he wrote on Instagram. “I never made these color ways I’m not getting paid off of them and adidas is suing me. All these celebrities and the public will stand against a T shirt or the color of my hat but when yall see me have my children hidden from me or see an actual Fortune 500 company r*pe one of your heroes in real life don’t nobody say nothing or do nothing. As far as the system goes What yall gone do now Take my album down again Freeze my accounts again Threaten people to not work with me again. Kanye West Sparks Adidas Rumors After Posing With The Company’s CEO

Kanye West is having a whirlwind last couple of days. Overall, a lot of this is because he just dropped off his new album Vultures. So far, fans are enjoying the project. Although when it comes to the critics, that has been another story entirely. Not everyone is a fan of the direction Ye is going in here. For instance, the lyrics aren’t exactly anything to write home about. Moreover, the references to his anti-semitic ramblings have made things even worse for himself. However, he remains one of the biggest streaming artists of the weekend.

Now, he is aiming to go all out when it comes to sneakers. For instance, he dropped off a Yeezy Super Bowl ad that made him $19 million in sales. Overall, it is clear that Ye wants to make shoes a big part of his offerings again. After cutting ties with Adidas, he took a break from shoes. Although now, his return to shoes is bringing about some interesting rumors. For instance, Ye recently posed with Adidas CEO Bjorn Gulden with the caption “make Adidas great again.” This has subsequently led to speculation about Ye reuniting with the company.

When Adidas let Ye walk away from his contract, both sides lost out on close to $1 billion in revenue. This subsequently led to a huge sell-off that brought some money back for both sides. In interviews, Gulden has never ruled out the possibility of working with Ye again some day. Now, Ye is back in the sneaker game and he is posing with the Adidas CEO. One can put two and two together and come to a conclusion. Of course, there is no telling what Ye plans to do. However, this timing feels very strange.

Kanye West Defense From Adidas CEO Leads To Swift Clarification From The Brand

Kanye West and Adidas are no longer business partners. Although they made billions of dollars together, it became clear they needed to split. Following Kanye’s barrage of anti-semitic remarks, Adidas took action and put an end to their contract. However, they had to rejoin forces recently so they could sell off a whole bunch of Yeezy stock. It was a successful restock that allowed Ye and Adidas to get some money back after staggering losses.

Recently, the Kanye x Adidas partnership was relitigated by none other than Adidas CEO Bjorn Gulden. Gulden was on a podcast where he revealed how he believes Ye is not a bad person. Moreover, he praised him for his creativity. “I think Kanye West is one of the most creative people in the world, both in music and what I would call street culture. He’s extremely creative,” Gulden said. “I don’t think he meant what he said and I don’t think he’s a bad person, it just came across that way.”

Kanye West x Adidas

Of course, a lot of people took issue with this as they felt it was a diminishing of Ye’s words. Well, Adidas decided to take action and issued a statement to the Associated Press. In this statement, they make it clear that they feel like the end of their Ye partnership was the right thing to do. “Our decision to end our partnership with Ye because of his unacceptable comments and behavior was absolutely the right one,” Adidas exclaimed. “Our stance has not changed: Hate of any kind has no place in sports or society, and we remain committed to fighting it.”

This was a small but significant controversy for Adidas given the fact that they had to respond. Hopefully, they have learned their lesson as it pertains to Ye. Let us know what you think of all this, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will always keep you informed.

Adidas CEO Bjørn Gulden Said He Doesn’t Think Kanye West ‘Meant What He Said’ In His Antisemitic Comments

Following a series of antisemitic comments, Kanye West has fallen out of favor with the general public — and with many of his collaborators. After the comments, Adidas, who was carrying West’s Yeezy shoes and fashion line, cut ties with West. Despite the dissolution of this partnership, Adidas CEO Bjørn Gulden had nothing but positive things to say about West.

During an interview on Nicolai Tungen’s In Good Company podcast, Gulden spoke highly of West, lauding his creativity.

“I think Kanye West is one of the most creative people in the world,” said Gulden. “And both in music and what I call street culture. So he’s extremely creative and has together with Adi created a Yeezy line that was very successful… I don’t think he meant what he said and I don’t think he’s a bad person, it just came across that way.”

Gulden mourned the end of the Yeezy collaboration but expressed gratitude for the partnership.

“That meant we lost that business,” said Gulden. “One of the most successful collabs in history — very sad. But again, when you work with third parties that can happen. It’s part of the game. That can happen with an athlete, that can happen with an entertainer. It’s part of the business.”

You can see a clip from the interview above.

Kanye West Is Not A “Bad Person,” Says Adidas CEO

Kanye West used to have a very lucrative deal with Adidas. Overall, the Yeezy brand was extremely strong and was responsible for just how successful Adidas was in the industry. However, once Ye started spewing anti-semitic remarks, it became clear that they needed to cut ties. Unfortunately for Adidas, this left a $1.3 billion hole in the company. Since that time, the brand has tried to let go of its Yeezy stock, and so far, it has proven to be extremely successful.

Given everything that has happened between these two, you would expect Adidas and its CEO, Bjorn Gulden, to be upset. However, that is very much not the case. Instead, Gulden is taking all of this in stride. In fact, while speaking on the In Good Company podcast, Gulden was very complimentary of the rapper. He even noted how sometimes, having to get rid of a collaborator is just the cost of doing business. “when you work with third parties that can happen. It’s part of the game. That can happen with an athlete, with an entertainer. It’s part of the business,” Gulden said.

Bjorn Gulden Defends Kanye West

From there, Gulden explained how Kanye is a creative genius and that what he did with Adidas was simply spectacular. “I think Kanye West is one of the most creative people in the world, both in music and what I would call street culture. He’s extremely creative,” Gulden noted. Subsequently, he claimed that he believes Ye does not actually agree with what he has said about Jewish people in the media. “I don’t think he meant what he said and I don’t think he’s a bad person, it just came across that way,” Gulden remarked.

Most people probably wouldn’t give Ye this kind of benefit of the doubt. Especially not if they were the CEO of Adidas, who now has to oversee massive revenue losses. Regardless, it seems like Gulden might be open to collaborating with Ye again in the future. Only time will tell whether or not that is actually in the cards.
