This year in rap, there have already been several monumental lyrical run-ins. First, Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj exchanged jabs on wax. Then Metro Boomin, Future, and Kendrick Lamar aimed at Drake and J. Cole. After a heated conversation online, GloRilla and JT could be next.

Following the release of GloRilla’s mixtape, Ehhthang Ehhthang, a rumor started by media personality Armon Wiggins resurfaced. Wiggins claimed GloRilla had gotten into an altercation with JT. On “Aite,” GloRilla attempted to shut the gossip down, but it backfired.

Continue below for both women’s accounts of what happened.

Did GloRilla Slap JT?

In October 2023, Wiggins took to his YouTube channel, alleging that GloRilla had an unfriendly encounter with JT backstage at the VMA Awards. The now-private video by the Tea-GIF co-host sparked an uproar amongst the rappers’ fans. GloRilla’s line “Slapping rap b*tches and making bail hoe” on “Yeah Glo!” only furthered the flames.

According to JT, the incident never happened. JT disputed the claim on X during an exchange with Female Rap Room.

“I been said she didn’t,” she wrote. “[GloRilla is] the one who went radio silent! [She] played into it and released a song about slapping rap b*tches. Now, it’s female unity? CORNY!”

In a now-deleted post, GloRilla refuted JT’s response. Although she agreed that she did not slap JT, she claimed they were involved in a scuffle. “What you want me to say,” she said. “I didn’t slap you? But I hit you with a purse instead. Scary ass ho.”

Based on this online exchange, GloRilla didn’t slap JT. However, the public opinion court is still unsure what to believe.

It appears another feud in rap has risen to the surface. After expressing her wish for Cardi B and Nicki Minaj to end their longstanding beef, GloRilla unintentionally found herself in a dust-up.

Yesterday (April 5), the “Wanna Be” rapper’s new mixtape Ehhthang Ehhthang hit streaming platforms. On the track “Aite,” GloRilla attempted to kill off a rumor that she and City Girls’ JT had tension by rapping, “I just pray one day the bad b*tches would come together / ‘Cause Cardi and Nicki on a track would break some f*ckin’ records / Me and JT ain’t the best of friends but we ain’t beefin’ / Know b*tches always hatin’ and that they keep a secret.”

However, JT didn’t take kindly to being mentioned on the record. In a response on X (formerly Twitter), the musician took a moment to deny claims that she and GloRilla were involved in a physical altercation, which is at the root of the beef rumors. “I been said she didn’t,” she wrote. “[GloRilla is] the one who went radio silent! [She] played into it and released a song about slapping rap b*tches. Now, it’s female unity? CORNY!”

After this, both ladies began to exchange heated shots. Although GloRilla’s responses have since been deleted, users online have begun to post screenshots of the removed posts. See the exchange below courtesy of the Female Rap Room.

GloRilla And JT Engage In Fiery Exchange On X Amid Beef Rumors

The hip-hop world is currently filled with beef and drama as JT and GloRilla engage in a heated exchange after JT denied any physical altercation between them. The saga unfolded on social media where fans witnessed the verbal altercation between the two. It all began when a comment under The Shade Room’s repost of JT’s tweet sparked the flame. The commenter mentioned an alleged incident where GloRilla allegedly slapped JT at an award show, to which JT denied. She stated, “SHE NEVER SLAPPED ME! EVER!!!! EVER NEVER like y’all find somebody else to play with.” This denial ignited the drama between the two rappers.

Things escalated when GloRilla addressed their relationship on her latest mixtape, Ehhthang Ehhthang, particularly in the song “Aite.” She conveyed a message of unity among female rappers, mentioning her relationship with JT. However, JT wasn’t buying it. Taking to Twitter, she called out GloRilla for what she perceived as insincere gestures towards female unity. Moreover, she cited GloRilla’s previous silence on the matter and her release of a song seemingly glorifying violence against other female rappers. “I just pray one day the bad bitches would come together/’Cause Cardi and Nicki on a track would break some fuckin’ records/ Me and JT ain’t the best of friends but we ain’t beefin’/ Know bitches always havin’ ana that they keep a secret,” GloRilla said on the track.

GloRilla At JT Go Back And Forth On X

The exchange intensified as JT explained the origin of the rumor. She attributed it to GloRilla’s initial silence and apparent reluctance to shut down the story. A fan asked why Glo hasn’t cleared the air to begin with. “I guess she was waiting on her tape to address & who gone clear up going viral for slapping someone when the whole hood believed it! It was on brand!,” JT further said on X. Not one to back down, GloRilla defended herself. “Hoe shut yo dumb a** up & fix dem ugla** wigs I said it ain’t no beef ho you da one with da secret animosity.” The feud reached a boiling point when GloRilla warned JT about her upcoming appearances and hinted at her criminal record. “Don’t make me pop up at one of them Backyard BBQ shows you doing,” GloRilla said. “You feeling a way about SLAPPING RAP B**CHES AND MAKING BAIL HO. Guess that last run in had you thinking you da only b**ch I touched?”

Furthermore, as the back-and-forth continued, both rappers kept going with insults and threats flying back and forth. The feud seemed far from over as neither party showed signs of backing down. The clash between JT and GloRilla serves as a reminder of the ups and downs within the hip-hop community. While fans eagerly await a resolution, for now, the beef continues, capturing the attention of the rap world and beyond.

Doechii & JT Are Unbothered On Party-Ready Banger “Alter Ego”

Doechii is one of the many talented ladies on the Top Dawg Entertainment label. What makes her such a valuable asset to them is her ability to write catchy radio hits or go experimental at any given moment. A perfect example to look at is going from “What It Is” to “Pacer” in a span of about six months. Doechii is now following up the latter with another intriguing offering, “Alter Ego,” with JT of City Girls.

This last handful of singles over the past year, including “Booty Drop,” could all very well be on her next LP. While we still await a title and release date, she was supposedly confirmed to be dropping a tape, along with a host of other TDE artists. “Alter Ego” marks the first collaboration between Doechii and JT and it goes over pretty well. Both femcees are bringing all their energy into the club-ready track. Zach Witness and Doechii both had a hand in the production. They meld together a unique combination of samples but it works! “Show Me Love” by Robin S, as well as a cult hit “Spread That P*ss” by Ayesha Erotica are the tracks responsible for the funky vibe of “Alter Ego.” Doechii and JT contrast each other nicely, with the latter going for a more smooth and lowkey delivery. Doechii And JT Each Introduce Us To A New ‘Alter Ego’ On Their Feisty New Collab

Two Florida women are the biggest rappers in the game right now. Tonight (March 29), Doechii teamed up with JT of City Girls for “Alter Ego,” their instantly intoxicating new collaboration.

The song features a prominent sample of “Show Me Love” by Robin S., and Doechii rides the beat with ease. Showcasing her versatility, Doechii offers mind-blowing examples of her quick-witted bars and her catchy screaming chorus.

JT pops in with a verse that feels timely, as she is currently on a solo tour. Rumors have also been going around that the future of City Girls is uncertain. But amid all the gossip, JT remains “unfazed, unbothered, and unf*ckwithable.”

Doechii and JT first teased the collaboration in a conversation with Interview Magazine. JT admitted that rapping over this type of beat and creating a dance floor record was a new challenge for her, but she’s proud of how the song turned out.

“[W]hen you sent me the record, girl, I was like, ‘What the f*ck? She think I can make a song like this?’ But thank you for challenging me,” JT said. “I’m very hesitant when I make music. I’m a perfectionist. I want that sh*t to sound good when I send it back.”

JT Gives An Impassioned Response To Drug Accusations Made In Light Of Diddy And Yung Miami’s ‘Pink Cocaine’ Allegations

There’s so much going on in Diddy’s world right now. He’s facing a sex trafficking lawsuit, two of his homes were just raided, and he allegedly got Yung Miami to transport “pink cocaine” for him. Somebody used the latter news item to make an accusation/assumption about Yung Miami’s City Girls cohort JT, and JT was not having it.

As HotNewHipHop notes, an X (formerly Twitter) user shared a video from a 2019 Instagram Live session with JT and Yung Miami. In the clip, JT briefly leaves the frame and supposedly makes a suspicious noise, which some believed to be her snorting drugs. The X user wrote, “So that’s where JT getting that shit from? Makes perfect sense now,” with the implication being that JT was getting drugs from Diddy.

JT wasn’t going to take that accusation lying down, as she responded, “First of all I was in the half way house being drug tested EVERY night I went in! I explained this YEARS ago I NEVER did cocaine & never will it actually destroyed my family! Y’all get on her making jokes about shit for shits & giggles & don’t know ppl post trauma! Stop playing with me! PLEASE.”

Another user responded, “JT i luv you but what was u doin in that live cos gurrrl???” JT wrote back, “You ever had mucus? Lol yall are something else on these apps.”

City Girls’ JT Announces She Will Blossom Into A ‘City Cinderella’ Once Her Debut Solo Mixtape Arrives

Muah, the wait for more JT is almost over. Since what appears to be the City Girls‘ indefinite hiatus, fans have eagerly waited as both ladies spread their solo wings. For JT, so far, it has included two solo songs, “No Bars” and “Sideways.”

But thanks to her first solo headlining tour, JT’s next move has been revealed. During the tour’s opening night, the rapper took to the stage to perform her next track. While the crowd rocked out to JT’s set, her wardrobe is what grabbed attendees’ attention. JT and crew’s custom graphic tees served as the formal announcement of her forthcoming debut solo mixtape.

Instead of changing her stage name, as previously contemplated, JT will simply adopt a new persona, as the title, City Cinderella, suggests. The upcoming body of work doesn’t have an official released. So, for now, the “City Cinderella coming soon” message on the tees is all the public knows.

Well, that’s all supporters needed to get hyped. “[JT’s] mixtape gonna change the game, mark my words,” wrote one user online. JT chimed it to echo the post. “I swear to God,” she wrote.

Others went on to ask where they could snag a tee to aid in the marketing of the project, to which JT replied, “My show.”

JT’s growing fanbase, the Juvies, is ready to ride out for their fav.

Prime Video has been making us all wait for Season 2 of their horror anthology series, Them. Now, the wait is over, as the streamer just revealed first-look photos for the new season, which they’re calling Them: The Scare. Notably, the first season aired in 2021.

The scares, pun intended, jump off with an April 25 premiere, dropping all eight episodes. Speaking of jumping, Them: The Scare time jumps from 1952 Compton to 1991 for the newest installment of the anthology series. What’s important about this year in Los Angeles history is that the notorious L.A. Riots resulting from the Rodney King beating will occur a year later. Interesting.

Prime Video says the series will bring back Deborah Ayorinde to star. As reported by Shadow and Act, “she’s playing an LAPD homicide detective whose new case brings her up close to something much worse than she can imagine.”

Here’s the official synopsis:

THEM will once again be set in Los Angeles (the first installment, subtitled Covenant, took place in Compton circa 1952 but will move the time frame forward to 1991). The story centers on LAPD Homicide Detective Dawn Reeve, who is assigned to a new case: the gruesome murder of a foster home mother that has left even the most hardened detectives shaken. Navigating a tumultuous time in Los Angeles, with a city on the razor’s edge of chaos, Dawn is determined to stop the killer. But as she draws closer to the truth, something ominous and malevolent grips her and her family…

Legendary actress Pam Grier (Jackie Brown) and Luke James will also star in the new season.

Here’s what Little Marvin, creator/executive producer/showrunner of the series, said regarding how Los Angeles in the 1990s will set the stage for a new horror story about race and social commentary. “With THEM: The Scare, we wanted to combine our love of horror with a look at Los Angeles’s rich history and evolution,” he said. “This second installment is a new story set in the 90’s, one of the most iconic decades for film, music and fashion, particularly in Los Angeles. I’m also excited about our amazing cast: Deborah Ayorinde returns as a completely new character, Luke James delivers an unforgettable performance and the legendary Pam Grier, who has played so many iconic and beloved roles on screen, makes her return to horror…. We couldn’t have asked for a more fearless group to lead this second installment.”

The cast is set to include Joshua J. Williams, Jeremy Bobb, Wayne Night, Carlito Olivero, Charles Brice, and Iman Shumpert. Vertigo Entertainment’s Miri Yoon and Roy Lee are executive producing with Little Marvin alongside Steve Prinz.

Here are the first-look photos below, as reported by Shadow and Act:
