A recently buzzing rumored relationship just got a stop sign from one of its alleged subjects. During a recent interview with Complex, Joey Bada$$ responded to rumors that he and singer and actress Serayah were dating. Moreover, the Wu-Tang: An American Saga costars sparked dating claims when they were boo’d up for an Instagram post. Not only that, but said picture seemed to promote Joey’s upcoming music video for his track “Show Me,” in which they starred as a couple. From what he told the publication, however, it was all part of the plan.
“We’re not [together],” the 1999 MC revealed. “Well, honestly, it wasn’t anything that wasn’t anticipated at first, but when we got back all the assets, like the photos, you know, I started to kind of like, ‘Oh, there’s something that could be done with these. This could tell the story.’ So that’s kinda what I wanted to do. I knew it was gonna catch people by surprise a little bit. That was the hardest part, was kinda waiting 48 hours, to like, you know I mean? They was wilin.’”
Elsewhere, he also spoke to xoNecole about his relationship with the California native, and also dished out some dismissals of fan theories. “Serayah and I — I’m trying to think, when did we cross paths?” the 28-year-old began. “We have some mutual friends. I think we found ourselves at a few, like, at the same events. And we just became really cool, you know? We got a pretty cool friendship, and I think she’s gorgeous. I think she’s talented. She was in the studio with me one time and she heard the song, and I know that she really liked the song.
“When it came to shooting the video, I just kind of proposed the idea to her and she was down, you know what I’m saying?” Jozif Badmon went on. “Shout out to Serayah because she really came through for me and she killed it. She killed it. I’m single, to to clear all the confusion on that up. I don’t know; things could happen. Or have those things happened? Not necessarily. It’s not anybody’s business, but for those who are wondering, yes, I am single. Over the weekend, Joey Bada$$ might’ve let us in on a little secret. The Brooklyn rapper took to Instagram to show us a snap of him and possibly the new woman in his life. In the photo, you can see Joey dressed to the nines in a black and white suit with his durag to complete his fit. He is gazing into the eyes of his date, who is none other than Serayah as she wears a red dress giving him her whole attention.
The two look as if they are out on a date as they sit in a booth in front of utensils, napkins, and wine glasses. After the “Love Is Only a Feeling” rapper made his post on Instagram, Serayah put her own post up of the couple with a black heart as the caption. The 27-year-old singer has seen a lot of success since hitting the big screen and making music. She’s not a household name like Keke Palmer or Tinashe, but Serayah is just as talented.

Serayah confirmed the relationship to Cardi B a few months later at a Fashion Nova event. Both have shared scenes in shows such as Empire, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, and The Chi.
BET even interviewed the couple for an episode of their series, “Millennial Love Stories”, where Lattimore went in detail how they met. The actor credits mutual friend, Shameik Moore, for getting them together. -In the same interview, Serayah describes being impressed during their first date as Lattimore went with the Empire actress to the nail salon. Seryah has been acting since 2015, landing her first major role in the hit series, Empire. She played Tiana Brown for six seasons. During that time, she also landed movie roles in Lucky Girl, Burning Sands, and other movies that were set for television. 50 Cent picked up Serayah for his hit STARZ series, BMF after Empire ended. She plays Meech’s baby’s mother. This year, she has a recurring role on Wu-Tang: An American Saga.
Not only is she an actress, but she is a singer as well. Serayah has released seven singles, four from her EP, Addicted. She released Addicted in 2018 and followed it up with Ray’’. Serayah also contributed to the original soundtrack for the series, Empire. In 2015, the song “Drip Drop”, featuring herself and Yazz. The song reached number 37 on the Billboard Hip Hop/R&B charts.
Last month, the 27-year-old released her new single, “Love or Die” featuring Village Boy Prince. It is expected to be on her upcoming EP, though a date has not been announced yet. The BMF actress also spends her time starring in music videos as well. Serayah has appeared in “Undecided” by Chris Brown, Ne-Yo’s “Don’t Love Me”, Diddy & Bryson Tiller’s “Gotta Move On”, and Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood”. As I mentioned above, Serayah was in Taylor Swift’s music video for “Bad Blood”. Even before the video, the two hit it off as Swift wanted to meet the Empire actress. Swift contacted Serayah before the video shoot to discuss what would be going on and also to thank her for being involved. Ultimately, Serayah became apart of the “Anti-Hero” singer’s “Girl Group”. The group includes GiGi Hadid, Martha Hunt, Hailee Steinfeld, Selena Gomez, and Mariska Hargitay to name a few.
Around the time of the release of the video “Bad Blood”, Serayah told People that they are all just girls hanging out.
”We all hang out. We get together and we go eat and go to late-night cafes. I think people think it’s this celebrity gathering, but it’s just a bunch of girls, hanging out”.

This past Christmas, she teamed up with the brand to deliver a new DeLeon Cranberry Margarita. Joey Bada$$ and Serayah just possibly announced a relationship with a new picture Joey posted to Instagram. Moreover, this caught many fans in the comments by surprise, as she was dating actor and artist Jacob Latimore. While some simply lamented their breakup, others had some more interesting theories as to what the post could mean. Furthermore, Serayah starred in various popular TV series, including Empire, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, and most notably Black Mafia Family. As such, some people wondered whether this was the result of another media project of if they’re really serious about their fling.
“This better be a scene from BMF… that’s all I know,” one user commented on the New York MC’s post. However, maybe that theory isn’t all that unfounded, considering the multi-hyphenate career of the “Paper Trail$” artist. We’ve heard impressive work from Logic over the years, but none finds the 33-year-old sounding as confident as his latest release, College Park. The 17-track effort is his first work as an officially independent artist, marking an exciting new beginning for his career. It tells the story of the year he spent living in Big Lenbo’s basement, chronicling plenty of hilarious misadventures and thoughtful emotions.
Plenty of guest features appear throughout the tracklist, including Lucy Rose on the previously released “Wake Up.” Another comes from Joey Bada$$, who shows out on the second verse of “Shimmy” after Logic drops impressive bars of his own. It marks the first time the two lyricists linked up, and after already finding so much success, it certainly won’t be the last.
Over production by 6ix and Soundtrakk, the Maryland native sets the mood with a catchy chorus before getting braggadocios on the first verse. “F*ck how you feel, I’m breakin’ the seal / Just got out my deal, I’m keepin’ it real,” he begins, obviously happy to have parted ways with his old label. “A quarter million, that’s my automobile / That thing in the glove, I need it concealed,” Logic goes on.
For his part, Bada$$ follows Young Sinatra with bars about going from EBT to BET and spreading love “the Brooklyn way” before sending a shoutout to the late Biggie Smalls. “Tell me who want war? Watch me turn ’em to a memory / I am not the one, I’m just the one that they pretend to be,” he later asserts, reminding listeners of his influence.

Despite previously retiring from rapping, this New Music Friday finds Logic making a triumphant return on his first independently released album. College Park arrived on DSPs at midnight on Friday (February 24), running over an hour in length and boasting several impressive collaborative efforts. The 33-year-old shared “Wake Up” featuring Lucy Rose as a single prior to his project, as well as “Highlife.”
Closer to College Park‘s debut, the lyricist also delivered “Lightsabers” in tandem with C Dot Castro. In the upbeat song’s accompanying music video, Logic gets his bars off for the camera while standing in the midst of flowing lava, rising buildings, and beautifully decorated rooms. Fans of the song’s guest feature will be happy to know that it’s not C’s only appearance on the album.
Logic tapped Castro to join him twice more, first on “Gaithersburg Freestyle” and later on 38.9897 °N 76.9378 °W. Both tracks also boast bars from Big Lenbo, and the former additionally finds Fat Trel and ADÉ showing out. Other noteworthy names on the tracklist include RZA, Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane, and Joey Bada$$.
As Hypebeast notes, College Park‘s title is a tribute to the town in Maryland where the Grammy-nominated artist slept in Lenbo’s basement for a year. Throughout the tracklist, Logic paints a sonic picture of what that time was like for him, markedly reflecting on his personal growth.
