Cardi B Cries About Offset

If Serayah and Joey Bada$$ have broken up, then winter 2023 has truly become the season of breakups. Cardi B was reduced to tears during an Instagram Live session in which she discussed her relationship with Offset and the recent scenes from the rapper’s birthday party. “He likes to play games with me. He knows that I’m at my house because he knows I am not doing my most. I’ve been sparing you, b-tch a– n-gga. Your b-tch a– album is sh-t. Joey Badass & Serayah Are Boo’d Up In Style For New York Fashion Week

Joey Bada$$ and Serayah are quite the dynamic duo these days, becoming one of the most wholesome and beloved romantic presences in celebrity pop culture and social media. What’s more is that both can pull off some incredibly stylish fits, as they recently proved for New York Fashion Week. Moreover, as the two made their way around the city, multiple photos show the immaculately matched leather looks they rocked. The New York MC wore a gray shirt underneath his dark brown jacket and pants, pulling it all together with dress shoes and big chains. On the other hand, the actress and singer wore a lighter-brown skirt and jacket to match.

Of course, this is far from the first time Joey Badass and Serayah have impressed onlookers with their style. Actually, it’s kind of wild to think that the couple started off denying relationship rumors, and now get so much love on social media. Sometimes, as much as you try to deny things as a public figure, people’s common and sixth senses ring too true. Regardless, it’s heartening that things worked out well for them.

Serayah & Joey Badass Stun At NYFW

Meanwhile, both are hard at work on their careers, with the Pro Era rapper recently reflecting on how meeting with Jay-Z changed his course for the better at the age of 17. “Get the f**k outta here,” Joey Badass said at the time. “Yo, I’m 17, and I already accomplished my wildest dream. [The $1M] came the year after. I remember going up in that elevator like, ‘If I’m meeting with Jay right now, I can do anything.’” In addition, he also explained how Hov’s book DECODED inspired him to become more independent as an artist and set his goals more clearly.

Whereas Joey looked back recently, his boo made a step forward, releasing the EP Flutter last month. Maybe we’ll see direct collabs between the two artists in the future, which would be a very exciting and fitting opportunity. If not, at least we can always count on them to delight fans by showing them that love is more than a feeling. For more news and the latest updates on Joey Badass and Serayah, stay posted on HNHH.

Joey Bada$$ And Statik Selektah’s Best Songs

This past Friday, Statik Selektah released his 10th studio album, Round Trip. The Massachusetts producer’s albums tend to boast impressive guest features and collaborations from both mainstream and underground hip hop’s most notable names. “Life & Times” ft. Joey Badass stands as an immediate highlight of the project. Their history together dates back to Joey’s come-up in the early 2010s. Oftentimes, Statik serves as Joey Badass’ tour DJ but their chemistry also bleeds deep into their respective catalogs. And each time Joey Badass and Statik Selektah connect, they uphold the same high standard they developed over a decade ago.

While Joey has appeared on every Statik Selektah album since 2013’s Extended Play, Statik’s also contributed production to each of Joey Bada$$’s projects from the beginning including 1999 and Summer Knights. From there, Statik also lent his talents to the Pro Era crew and later, produced multiple songs on Joey Bada$$’s landmark debut album, 2015’s B4.DA.$$. As evidenced by Round Trip and Joey Bada$$’s 2022 album, 2000, they continue to work closely with one another.

In honor of their latest collaboration, we’ve compiled a list of Joey Badass and Statik Selektah’s best songs together. Some are tracks that solely feature vocals from Joey Bada$$ while others include the assistance of other revered MCs.

7. “Beautiful Life” (2015)

2015 was a prolific year for both Joey Badass and Statik Selektah. The Brooklyn rapper released his highly-anticipated debut, B4.DA.$$, and Statik Selektah released his Lucky 7 album, which the two both worked on together. Joey Bada$$ appears on three different songs on Lucky 7, contributing a solo track and a collaboration with Big K.R.I.T. However, the album’s lead single, “Beautiful Life” is one of the most exciting moments on Statik’s 2015 opus. The song samples Chaka Khan’s “Fate” from 1981 and is more upbeat than the average Statik beat. The instrumental is perfect for Action Bronson and Joey Bada$$ to toast to their accomplishments and celebrate their successes. The song’s triumphant vibe is accurately captured in the song’s music video, shot on a boat in Croatia.

6. “Slum Villain” (2014)

“Slum Villain” is one of two strong features that Joey Bada$$ contributes to Statik Selektah’s 2014 album, What Goes Around. The album’s production leans heavily on its jazz influence, which can be heard on tracks like “Slum Villain.” Joey has the song to himself and glides over the jazzy instrumental while Statik provides his signature scratches toward the end.

5. “Carry On” (2014)

Carry On” is the other song from What Goes Around that features Joey Bada$$. This time, Statik and Joey are joined by Freddie Gibbs. Much like “Slum Villain,” the instrumental is jazz-influenced and features a saxophone that provides the main melody. Joey sets things off with his skillful wordplay while Freddie incorporates different flows as he floats over the instrumental. Both verses are so strong that neither rapper gets outshined.

4. “Keep It Moving” (2020)

Statik Selektah’s 2020 album, The Balancing Act, featured multiple Joey Bada$$ features, both of which are arguably the album’s best moments. The album’s lead single “Keep It Moving” is a definitive highlight, featuring Joey alongside Nas and Gary Clark Jr. The two rappers go back and forth, showing that Joey is deserving of legend status while Nas proves that his skills transcend age. The instrumental is euphoric as Gary Clark Jr. provides a beautiful melody over the beat that continuously progresses throughout the duration of the song.

3. “Bird’s Eye View” (2013)

Joey Bada$$ had proven his ability to hang with the legends long before “Keep It Moving.” His first appearance on a Statik Selektah album was 2013’s “Bird’s Eye View.” Over a soulful instrumental from Statik, each rapper picks up where the previous one left off in their verse. Raekwon starts things off with his slick flow and Joey Bada$$ comes through with his choppy wordplay before Black Thought delivers a jaw-dropping verse for two minutes straight. While Black Thought’s verse takes up the majority of the song, “Bird’s Eye View” is a memorable collaboration between multiple hip-hop generations.

2. “Curry Chicken” (2015)

A B4.DA.$$ highlight, “Curry Chicken” is a taste of home. The song is about Joey working to get his career going, putting in work on tour but always making time to come home for the holidays. He raps about the path he has taken and making his family proud. The Statik Selektah beat has a vintage sound to it and Joey shines lyrically.

1. “Save The Children” (2015)

The opening song on B4.DA.$$, “Save The Children” is the perfect introduction. Over a glorious instrumental produced by Statik Selektah, Joey Bada$$ is at his most charismatic. The horns on the beat and record scratches combine the retro sounds of Joey and Statik, building on already-strong chemistry.

Joey Badass Albums & Mixtapes, Ranked

Throughout this past decade, Joey Badass (stylized “Joey Bada$$”) has built himself one of hip hop’s strongest discographies. He is considered one of the best rappers of the 2010s and is well-deserving of that title. Joey has a music catalog to prove that he is one of the best and has cosigns from many different hip hop legends. He came up as a member of Pro Era alongside Capital STEEZ, Kirk Knight, CJ Fly, Nyck Caution, and others. So far, Joey Badass has released only three studio albums, two mixtapes, and an EP. He has consistently put out great songs with a “quality over quantity” approach.

This list ranks Joey Badass’s studio albums and mixtapes from worst to best. This list excludes Pro Era albums, mixtapes, and the Beast Coast album. Because Joey is so consistent, placing albums at the bottom is challenging, which speaks to just how strong his catalog is. Look at the list below, which starts at No. 5 and works its way up to Joey Badass’s best album.

5. 2000 (2022)

Last year marked the tenth anniversary of Joey’s debut mixtape, 1999, a very impactful project now considered a classic. Following a five-year gap between albums, Joey Badass released his third studio album, 2000, commemorating a decade of success. It is a stellar project but does not quite match the quality of his other albums in terms of both songwriting and production. Though 2000 does not stack up to his better albums, it has many standout songs. What makes it a unique album is that it comes from the perspective of Joey as an OG in the game. He may have only been 27 when the album was released, but it shows just how long Joey and Pro Era have existed in the scene. Essential Tracks: “Make Me Feel,” “Brand New 911,” ”Zipcodes,” “Head High,” “Survivors Guilt”

4. Summer Knights (2013)

Joey Badass’s second mixtape, 2013’s Summer Knights, is easily his most underrated project. While many view it as inferior to 1999, some of the best Joey Badass songs are on Summer Knights. “Hillary Swank” still remains one of Joey’s best songs. The mixtape doubles down on the throwback ‘90s sound he built his style around. It also included more original production, allowing Joey to find his voice.

He showcased new flows and cadences on the album that would become his signature. Summer Knights is also a significantly more personal project than 1999, following the death of Joey’s close friend and groupmate Capital STEEZ. Songs like “LongLiveSteelo” show a level of vulnerability that Joey had never tapped into previously. Summer Knights is a great mixtape, but its lengthy runtime and particular production choices place it at No. 4. Essential Tracks: “Hillary Swank,” “My Yout,” “Death of YOLO,” “95 Til Infinity,” “Unorthodox”

3. 1999 (2012)

When Joey Bada$$ released his debut mixtape 1999, he was only 17 years old and was still a student at Edward R. Murrow High School in Brooklyn. With this mixtape, Joey and his fellow Pro Era groupmates helped reintroduce the classic boom-bap sound of the 1990s to a new generation. He built his sound around the sounds of the throwback style of instrumentals he chose. Some of these beats were original, while others were just some of Joey’s favorites.

Because not every sound is original and Joey hadn’t found his style yet, 1999 ranks third on this list. Joey managed to sound unique over a preexisting style while clearly emulating his influences, making for a quality mixtape. 1999 is now an all-time classic release and fan favorite that still gets brought up in hip hop discussions today. Essential Tracks: “Waves,” “Survival Tactics,” “Killuminati,” “Hardknock,” “World Domination”

2. ALL-AMERIKKKAN BADA$$ (2017)

Joey Badass’s second studio album, 2017’s ALL-AMERIKKKAN BADA$$, marked a significant change in sound and content for Joey. The production was more polished and musical, departing from the boom-bap-inspired sound many still pigeonhole Joey into. The songs on the album included live instrumentation and featured Joey at his most politically charged. The album’s central themes tackled Black oppression, both the past and present.

Even with the album’s serious messaging, Joey finds balance. There are politically-charged songs like “Babylon” and warm, celebratory tracks with catchy choruses like “Temptation.” Essential Tracks: “Temptation,” “Devastated,” “Rockabye Baby,” “Babylon,” “Legendary.”

1. B4.DA.$$ (2015)

Joey Badass’s first two mixtapes were amazing on their own, but they showed signs of potential that had yet to be unlocked. The mixtapes slowly led up to his highly-anticipated debut album, 2015’s B4.DA.$$, which is easily his best work. The album is phenomenal from top to bottom, balancing different moods and styles while sticking to a cohesive sound. A lot of the best Joey Badass songs are on this album. From the explosive “No. 99” to the nostalgic “Curry Chicken,” Joey showcases his versatility while remaining true to his sound.

B4.DA.$$ is a culmination of all of the best qualities of Joey’s previous releases and is undoubtedly his best album. It is a classic hip hop album and ranks high in his catalog and among the best rap albums of the 2010s. Essential Tracks: “Save The Children,” “Paper Trail$,” “Big Dusty,” “Hazeus View,” “Christ Conscious.”

Overall, Joey Badass has made some quality albums throughout the years, each with amazing songs. He has no bad records but has evolved so much over the years that some albums are more refined. The ranking of Joey’s catalog comes down to whether one prefers a more raw or refined style of rapping and production. Joey Badass started rapping at 17, and now over a decade into his career, he is still only 28 years old and continues to put out great albums. Hopefully, he does not take too long to release more music.

Joey Bada$$ On Serayah Dating Rumors

A recently buzzing rumored relationship just got a stop sign from one of its alleged subjects. During a recent interview with Complex, Joey Bada$$ responded to rumors that he and singer and actress Serayah were dating. Moreover, the Wu-Tang: An American Saga costars sparked dating claims when they were boo’d up for an Instagram post. Not only that, but said picture seemed to promote Joey’s upcoming music video for his track “Show Me,” in which they starred as a couple. From what he told the publication, however, it was all part of the plan.

“We’re not [together],” the 1999 MC revealed. “Well, honestly, it wasn’t anything that wasn’t anticipated at first, but when we got back all the assets, like the photos, you know, I started to kind of like, ‘Oh, there’s something that could be done with these. This could tell the story.’ So that’s kinda what I wanted to do. I knew it was gonna catch people by surprise a little bit. That was the hardest part, was kinda waiting 48 hours, to like, you know I mean? They was wilin.’”

Joey Bada$$ Denies He’s Dating Serayah

Elsewhere, he also spoke to xoNecole about his relationship with the California native, and also dished out some dismissals of fan theories. “Serayah and I — I’m trying to think, when did we cross paths?” the 28-year-old began. “We have some mutual friends. I think we found ourselves at a few, like, at the same events. And we just became really cool, you know? We got a pretty cool friendship, and I think she’s gorgeous. I think she’s talented. She was in the studio with me one time and she heard the song, and I know that she really liked the song.

“When it came to shooting the video, I just kind of proposed the idea to her and she was down, you know what I’m saying?” Jozif Badmon went on. “Shout out to Serayah because she really came through for me and she killed it. She killed it. I’m single, to to clear all the confusion on that up. I don’t know; things could happen. Or have those things happened? Not necessarily. It’s not anybody’s business, but for those who are wondering, yes, I am single. The speculation and everything could die now.” Regardless of his testimony, stick around on HNHH for the latest news and updates on Joey Bada$$ and Serayah.

Who Is Serayah?

Over the weekend, Joey Bada$$ might’ve let us in on a little secret.  The Brooklyn rapper took to Instagram to show us a snap of him and possibly the new woman in his life.  In the photo, you can see Joey dressed to the nines in a black and white suit with his durag to complete his fit.  He is gazing into the eyes of his date, who is none other than Serayah as she wears a red dress giving him her whole attention.

The two look as if they are out on a date as they sit in a booth in front of utensils, napkins, and wine glasses.  After the “Love Is Only a Feeling” rapper made his post on Instagram, Serayah put her own post up of the couple with a black heart as the caption.  The 27-year-old singer has seen a lot of success since hitting the big screen and making music.  She’s not a household name like Keke Palmer or Tinashe, but Serayah is just as talented.

Here’s five things to know about Serayah, in case you didn’t know.

She Dated Jacob Lattimore

Serayah was in a very public relationship with fellow actor Jacob Lattimore.  Lattimore plays Emmett on Showtime’s hit series, The Chi.  As, she has been seen with Joey Bada$$ lately, Serayah confirmed her breakup with Lattimore in a statement.

”Me and Jacob are no longer together. —Sadly we just grew apart and I love and respect his journey moving foward.”

She also confirmed it over Instagram Live as fans kept asking her questions regarding the relationship.  Lattimore and Seryah met in 2016 at the BET Awards.  They finally made it official to the world in March of 2019 when Lattimore posted a picture of the two of them on Instagram.  Serayah confirmed the relationship to Cardi B a few months later at a Fashion Nova event.  Both have shared scenes in shows such as Empire, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, and The Chi.

BET even interviewed the couple for an episode of their series, “Millennial Love Stories”, where Lattimore went in detail how they met.  The actor credits mutual friend, Shameik Moore, for getting them together.  -In the same interview, Serayah describes being impressed during their first date as Lattimore went with the Empire actress to the nail salon.  After six years, it looks like Serayah has moved on.

Serayah is an Actress

Seryah has been acting since 2015, landing her first major role in the hit series, Empire.  She played Tiana Brown for six seasons.  During that time, she also landed movie roles in Lucky Girl, Burning Sands, and other movies that were set for television.  50 Cent picked up Serayah for his hit STARZ series, BMF after Empire ended.  She plays Meech’s baby’s mother. This year, she has a recurring role on Wu-Tang: An American Saga.

Yes, She Sings Too

Not only is she an actress, but she is a singer as well.  Serayah has released seven singles, four from her EP, Addicted.  She released Addicted in 2018 and followed it up with Ray’’.  Serayah also contributed to the original soundtrack for the series, Empire.  In 2015, the song “Drip Drop”, featuring herself and Yazz.  The song reached number 37 on the Billboard Hip Hop/R&B charts.

Last month, the 27-year-old released her new single, “Love or Die” featuring Village Boy Prince.  It is expected to be on her upcoming EP, though a date has not been announced yet.  The BMF actress also spends her time starring in music videos as well.  Serayah has appeared in “Undecided” by Chris Brown, Ne-Yo’s “Don’t Love Me”, Diddy & Bryson Tiller’s “Gotta Move On”, and Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood”.  Joey Bada$$ is set to make a new short film starring Serayah for his song, “Show Me”.  The video for the song is out now.

Friends with Taylor Swift

As I mentioned above, Serayah was in Taylor Swift’s music video for “Bad Blood”.  Even before the video, the two hit it off as Swift wanted to meet the Empire actress.  Swift contacted Serayah before the video shoot to discuss what would be going on and also to thank her for being involved.  Ultimately, Serayah became apart of the “Anti-Hero” singer’s “Girl Group”.  The group includes GiGi Hadid, Martha Hunt, Hailee Steinfeld, Selena Gomez, and Mariska Hargitay to name a few.

Around the time of the release of the video “Bad Blood”, Serayah told People that they are all just girls hanging out.

”We all hang out.  We get together and we go eat and go to late-night cafes.  I think people think it’s this celebrity gathering, but it’s just a bunch of girls, hanging out”.

Serayah applauds Swift for encouraging her to always use her voice and always remembers her for giving her a NARS red lip pencil to use, in which she always gets compliments when she wears it.

Serayah’s Drink of Choice is Tequila

After taking Tequila shots with Taylor Swift, Serayah ultimately became a tequila fan.  She never drank tequila until then and now she’s the ambassador for DeLeon Tequila.  It’s also her go-to drink!  This past Christmas, she teamed up with the brand to deliver a new DeLeon Cranberry Margarita.  The singer also hosted a Thanksgiving event called friendsgiving with DeLeon last year at TAO restaurant in Los Angeles.  She’s even made friends with the owner of the agave spirit as well, none other than Diddy himself.

Let us know if you think Serayah and Joey Bada$$ are a real thing in the comments down below.

Joey Bada$$ Teases Serayah Relationship In Upcoming Music Video

This week, Empire actress Serayah revealed a few juicy things about her relationship life. For starters, she confirmed that her relationship with fellow actor Jacob Latimore was over. First getting together in 2016, Serayah and Latimore’s relationship was a favorite among fans. “Me and Jacob are no longer together.— Sadly we just grew apart and I love and respect his journey moving forward,” she said.

However, it seems she quickly transitioned to a new boo shortly while simultaneously announcing her breakup. Both Joey Bada$$ and Serayah each posted photos with each other on Instagram recently. Each succinctly captioning their posts with a heart, fans concluded that the rapper and actress could now be an item. Then, after going public with their new fling, Joey announced a new music video on the way. Set to drop on March 1, Joey plans to deliver the third music video for his 2022 album 2000. But, what makes the impending release of the “Show Me” video even more enticing is that his co-star is his brand new girlfriend.

Joey Bada$$ & Serayah On Screen

Joey posted the trailer for the “Show Me” music video on Feb. 28. Lasting less than 30 seconds, the clip shows Joey and Serayah fiddling with a camcorder while unpacking moving boxes. Asking him to show her how to use it, the clip ends at that point and fans will not be able to see the rest until March 1. The song samples “Show Me How,” a 2018 song from the Canadian band Men I Trust. One of the most enjoyable tracks on 2000, “Show Me” undoubtedly deserves the visual treatment.

With this video on the way, it likely solidifies the Joey Bada$$ and Serayah couple rumors even more. There’s no telling how long the two have been dating though. If they’ve been together since the video first began filming, it could be weeks by now. Considering this, the rollout of their romance on social media was timed perfectly. Revealing their relationship and then a video they collaborated on shortly after effectively manufactured buzz around the two stars. Now, we just have to wait and see how they perform in the new music video.
