It may only be a few days after Christmas, but for some of hip-hop’s elite, there’s no such thing as a vacation. J. Cole, who spent the year on an absolute tear of surprise live appearances and scene-stealing feature verses, continued his campaign at Lil Baby’s hometown show in Atlanta on Wednesday night (December 27), popping out to surprise the concertgoers with a performance of his 2014 Forest Hills Drive fan favorite, “No Role Modelz” and his Revenge Of The Dreamers III standout, “Middle Child.”

Cole’s string of surprise performances included coming out in Montreal to surprise fans at Drake’s It’s All A Blur tour as 21 Savage’s replacement. Then, he did the same thing for fans at 50 Cent’s Final Lap tour in Brooklyn. He also joined Lil Durk during his iHeartRadio Festival performance in Las Vegas to perform their collaboration “All My Life” for the first time. The next surprise came with “Pretty Little Fears” collaborator 6lack in LA, after which Cole circled back around to reconnect with Drake for the announcement of their Big As The What? tour, extending the It’s All A Blur tour in 2024.

Along the way, he dropped verses with K-pop star J-Hope, Summer Walker, his own Dreamville artist Bas, the surprising collaborators Gucci Mane and Lil Yachty, multiple tracks with Drake (including his first-ever No. 1), and Nicki Minaj. He’s had a busy year, and he STILL has yet to release his long-awaited album, The Fall-Off.

Lil Baby Brings Out J. Cole And Quavo At Birthday Concert, Shows Off Collection Of White Cars

Lil Baby recently celebrated his birthday in style. The rapper put together his own birthday show in his native city of Atlanta and fans showed out to celebrate with him. Baby had some surprises for his fans as well and you can see it in recently shared videos from the event. During the show, Baby brought out both J. Cole and Quavo to perform alongside him during the show. In the comments of a repost of the video, fans wonder why the crowd didn’t get more hype for the two high-profile guests.

In another recent video shared online, Lil Baby shows off part of his collection of cars. “When I say I CBFW this what i mean. PS this is just my white setup,” he captioned the video. In the clip, he shows off a series of white cars, but it’s one particular vehicle with blue rims that stopped fans in their tracks. “Blue rims on a black And white car is nasty work,” one comment reads. “Blue rims on a white car is wild territory,” another comment agrees. Check out the videos of Baby’s birthday performance and car collection below.

Lil Baby’s Birthday Show

Earlier this month, Lil Baby shared two new singles called “Crazy” and “350.” Both songs are off to a strong start, with “Crazy” in particular performing extra well racking up 5.5 million streams in just a few weeks. The song hit the Hot 100 this week debuting at number 83 on the chart.

But not everybody has been a big fan of the new songs. Streamer Kai Cenat in particular had some harsh words for one of the songs. He absolutely trashed the track “350” shortly after the pair of new songs released. The video of his first reaction to the song went viral shortly after its release. What do you think of Lil Baby’s collection of white cars? Do you think the crowd at his birthday show should be more excited for J. Cole and Quavo? Let us know in the comment section below.

Nicki Minaj Salutes J. Cole For Out-Rapping Her On “Let Me Calm Down” Off “Pink Friday 2”

During Nicki Minaj’s recent interview with Joe Budden, they spoke about her love for female rappers, her new album Pink Friday 2, and so much more. However, one of the most compelling and, for hip-hop fans, fulfilling parts of their talk came when she put her promo aside to give props to a truly excellent verse on the project. Moreover, Roman shouted out J. Cole for having, in her opinion, the better verse on their collaboration, “Let Me Calm Down.” The track is an easy standout on this new LP, and one that both MCs do a great job of attacking. In fact, it’s funny how Budden tried to even the playing field, but the Trinidadian superstar still admitted that she got trounced.

“Boy, [you were] bold for even calling Jermaine Cole, ’cause he’s been on a rampage,” Joe Budden told Nicki Minaj. “He’s been tearing n***as up, he been tearing n***as up. He didn’t do it to you, though!” which caused her to laugh. “Yes, he did,” the 41-year-old conceded. “Yes the f**k he did. I’m just telling you that he did. Abso-f***ing-lutely. I want the person to be the best, I want the person to give me the best verse. Like, that made me know that he respected me and cared about my project.”

Nicki Minaj Declares J. Cole Had The Better Verse On “Let Me Calm Down”: Watch

Previously, Nicki Minaj expressed heartfelt gratitude and happiness concerning this team-up on Twitter. “This man J. Cole had a 2 hour talk with me. 2. Two!!!!” she wrote. “Didn’t realize I was sitting on a therapist couch but ummm 2 days later I heard this verse & couldn’t stop crying. The end. In a world where we know EXACTLY how & WHEN to tear each other apart, there are still Kings & Queens who know how to put ppl back together. Patch them up. Heal them. Empower them. Understand them. Listen to them. Make them do the most beautiful thing a human being can do. Smile.

“After having #papabear I couldn’t wait for the day he’d smile @ me,” she continued. “First smile? It was one day when I blew a kiss @ him. I said ‘papa mmuuuaahhhhh!!!!’ then? Time froze. Froze. He smiled? He smiled. At Me? Looking directly in my eyes? Yes. Me? Held back the tears & just kept doing a billion more times. I cried later. I’ve been trying to make him smile every day since… lol he actually makes me crack up laughing all the time. No idea where he got all that personality from but y’all pray for me. Anyway, Cole… It’s been a long time coming, but the barbz welcome you with open arms to #GagCity. We appreciate you. We hope you stay.” For more news and updates on Nicki Minaj and J. J. Cole’s “No Role Modelz” Hits Massive Spotify Accomplishment

J. Cole hasn’t dropped that much new solo material as of late, although his feature run has been absolutely legendary. Still, that doesn’t mean that his beloved work fell off people’s rotation at all; if anything, you could say it’s stronger than ever. Moreover, arguably the rapper’s biggest hit, “No Role Modelz,” just accomplished something stunning and garnered over two billion streams on Spotify recently. Few rap hits can claim this title, and fewer still are such balanced offerings of style, substance, and singularity. The Dreamville boss should feel very proud of this, even if he’s always found inspiration in artistic growth rather than commercial metrics.

Furthermore, if you want proof of J. Cole’s skills, look no further than another titan of the game: Nicki Minaj. Her praise for his contribution to Pink Friday 2 was quite wholesome and indicative of his status. “This man J. Cole had a 2 hour talk with me,” she wrote. “2. Two!!!! Didn’t realize I was sitting on a therapist couch but ummm 2 days later I heard this verse & couldn’t stop crying. The end. In a world where we know EXACTLY how & WHEN to tear each other apart, there are still Kings & Queens who know how to put ppl back together. Patch them up. Heal them. Empower them. Understand them. Listen to them. Make them do the most beautiful thing a human being can do. Smile.”

J. Cole’s “No Role Modelz” Enters The Two-Billion Streams Club

In other news, the North Carolina MC also recently received 23 new certifications from the RIAA, so this milestone is contributing to a wild streak of success in many different lanes in 2023. What’s more is that these new plaques ranged across his entire discography. That’s proof that J. Cole is still atop the game, whether it’s about the weight of his catalog or his current success. We can’t wait to see what he’ll do next, even if it might be his last full-length project for some time.

Meanwhile, do you think that “No Role Modelz” is one of Cole’s best-ever songs? Are you going to see him and Drake on tour later in 2024? However you may feel, let us know in the comments section down below. Also, stay posted on HNHH for the latest news and more updates on J. Cole.

NBA YoungBoy Blasts Reporter For J. Cole Collab Question During Interview

NBA YoungBoy is notorious for being in his fair share of rap beefs, whether they’re more serious or just from MC to MC. Moreover, one of his most recent exploits was with J. Cole, as they had a bit of a back and forth with alleged subliminal disses and straight-up callouts from his end. However, it seemed like things would quiet down a little on that front after a recent interview YB did with “Lizzie Pure,” also known as Lizabeth Korn. In it, she asked him about Cole’s line on his Drake collab “First Person Shooter” about still wanting to do a song with him.

Furthermore, YoungBoy said that if the Dreamville MC makes his way up to Gravedigger Mountain in Utah, he’s down. Now, though, it seems like there was a misunderstanding, because his Instagram account left a couple of comments (since deleted) on Lizzie’s IG post about her talk with him. In it, the Baton Rouge rapper suggests that he didn’t approve of certain clips coming out and called her a “clout chaser.” It’s a bit unclear what he’s specifically mad about and who he’s talking about in one of the comments, but that’s what we can devise from this.

YoungBoy Goes Off On Interviewer: Read

“Go report this h*e page,” YoungBoy expressed in Lizzie Pure’s comments section. “this b***h unprofessional and clout chasing. You a dog a** b***h ain’t nobody approved none of this you doing. You tried that bulls**t a** clip with [J. Cole] saying he’ll be able to remove anything if he wanted it out then released it. ‘Dead b***h walking.’” Again, who the “he” is in this comment could be the 24-year-old, Cole, or someone else. Just goes to show that he can’t escape beef often.

Meanwhile, the Richest Opp hitmaker recently broke up the negativity with some holiday cheer. He recently dressed up as Santa Claus and took the kids sledding in Utah, which was odd but wholesome to see. Hopefully more moments like this prop up rather than more media feuds. Bas & J. Cole Are Far From “Home Alone” On Our New Fire Emoji Playlist Update

Hip-hop never slows down, even amid the holiday season, and our new Fire Emoji playlist update rounded up the best of the best when it comes to new releases this week. First up we have Nicki Minaj, whose new album Pink Friday 2 is dominating thanks to fun tracks like “Everybody” with Lil Uzi Vert. In addition, she just dropped a Gag City Deluxe version featuring a “Beep Beep” remix with 50 Cent and a new song, “Love Me Enough,” with Monica and Keyshia Cole. As such, the Barbz are helping us close our 2023 with style and energy, and they’ll probably carry that energy into 2024.

Another deluxe version on Fire Emoji this week came from A$AP Twelvyy, who dropped an expanded version of his album Kid$ Gotta Eat. As far as standouts, look no further than “Yams Day,” honoring the late and great A$AP Yams. Not only that, but featured guests on this track comprise of A$AP Rocky, A$AP Ferg, and A$AP ANT, so it’s truly a heartening family affair. However, when it comes to brand-new releases this week, none stand taller than Bas’ new album, We Only Talk About Real S**t When We’re F***ed Up. His J. Cole collab “Home Alone”– one of three on the project– is a particularly emotive and skillful highlight.

HNHH Fire Emoji Playlist: Stream

Furthermore, our Fire Emoji update also rounded up some hot singles this week, like Lil Baby’s dual release: “Cr*zy” and “350.” They’re both dramatic and dense cuts flow-wise that set the Atlanta MC up for a proper comeback. Also, we have to mention the excellent collaboration “MiNt cHoCoLaTe” from the 1999 WRITE THE FUTURE collective, BADBADNOTGOOD, Westside Gunn, and Conway The Machine. It’s a gorgeous record with extravagant verses, hypnotizing flute melodies, and measured percussion.

Elsewhere, we also have the blistering new single from Luh Tyler and Latto, “The Grinch Freestyle,” plus Fivio Foreign’s new Jersey club flip with New York drill trio 41 (Kyle Richh, Jenn Carter, and Tata), “Get Deady (Offa Pill).” One of the most underrated picks here is “NIGHT WE MET,” a woozy and romantic cut from Portion and Veronica Elizabeth. Finally, we have to shout out Chow Lee’s rapid, ethereal, but nonetheless exciting “swag it!” Let us know in your comments what your favorite Fire Emoji inclusion was this week, and what else we missed, too. Check out the playlist above and come back to HNHH for more great music releases around the clock.

NBA YoungBoy On Whether He’s Open To J. Cole Collab

In the latest twist of the ongoing saga surrounding NBA YoungBoy, the Baton Rouge rapper said he’s down to collaborate with J. Cole. But, there’s one peculiar condition. J. Cole must meet him at “Gravedigger Mountain.” For those who may not know, “Gravedigger Mountain” is a term that NBA YoungBoy made up. The word can be traced back to a beef between him and Joe Budden. Budden called NBA YoungBoy’s music “trash.” However, in a social media rant, YoungBoy, who has been under house arrest since 2021, responded to Budden’s critical comments by inviting him to “Gravedigger Mountain” for a face-to-face conversation.

However, the authenticity of “Gravedigger Mountain” has come under scrutiny, notably from DJ Akademiks. The outspoken commentator started speaking on the crime statistics of YoungBoy’s neighborhood, challenging the existence of any actual “graves being dug” on the mountain. Akademiks dismissed it as a metaphorical fantasy, claiming there were no cemeteries in the vicinity and no recorded incidents of graves being dug. Despite the skepticism, YoungBoy’s insistence on this unique condition for a collaboration with J. Cole adds a layer of intrigue to the narrative.

“‘Gravedigger Mountain?’” Akademiks said. “Bro, you know I looked up the f*cking crime stats– I know where YoungBoy live at. Everybody knows it right. Nobody’s ever gotten murdered there ever in life. What graves are being dug there?” Moreover, social media of course chimed in with their two cents. “I wouldn’t dare step foot in that hell of a place😭,” one person commented. “Bro tryna set him up,” said another. Moreover, whether J. Cole will accept this invitation remains uncertain.

“Everyone think he tryn jus kill da man, y’all think he think he’d get away w that shi? He really sayin if bro brave enough to come see me we can work sum out, cuz he know hell ye that collab would be big,” another person added to the speculation. However, as fans eagerly await J. Cole’s response, the mystery of what NBA Youngboy’s definition of “Gravedigger Mountain” is continues to grow. NBA YoungBoy, confined to house arrest and facing legal challenges, is making it clear that his creative spirit knows no bounds.
