Drake Continues To Troll Kendrick Lamar With Ominous IG Photo

Drake loves to play mind games on social media. He’s dropped plenty of diss tracks throughout his career (two in the last month, actually), but he understands the power of a meme. He’s mercilessly clowned Metro Boomin and Rick Ross on Instagram, but all the focus now seems to be on Kendrick Lamar. It’s easy to see why. Lamar broke his silence to bomb on Drake with two diss tracks in only a couple days. Drizzy has already confirmed a response is coming, but he wants to have fun with his competition in the meantime.

Drake posted a single, ominous image to his Instagram Story on May 3. The image was yellow caution tape. You know, the kind used to surround a crime scene. The Toronto rapper isn’t planning on getting violent with Lamar, but he definitely wants to strike fear in him. This implication of “lyrical homicide” is strong enough to be understood on its own, frankly. That being said, it takes on greater meaning when paired with the film clip Drake posted shortly before.

Drake Teased His Upcoming Diss With Caution Tape

The 6 God loves his film references, and took a line from The Equalizer 2 to convey how he was feeling. “So I’m gonna kill each and every one of you,” the character played by Denzel Washington states. “And the only disappointment in it for me is that I’m only gonna get to do it once.” If Drake plans to do as he says (or as Denzel’s character says), than he’s going to need lots of yellow tape. The scene takes on even greater context when taken as a response to Lamar’s diss “6:16 In L.A.” Lamar claimed that the Toronto rapper had moles in his camp. He went as far as to say that 20% of the people on his payroll want to see him fail.

The Equalizer 2 clip subsequently works on two different levels. The first, and most obvious, is that Drake is the Denzel character who is going to wreak havoc. The second is that Denzel’s character is visiting an old friend to let him know that he’s aware of his betrayal. The friend (played by Pedro Pascal) is actually the person receiving the chilling threat in the scene. It’s telling that Drake uses The Equalizer 2 as the film to communicate his side of things, while he used 10 Things I Hate About You to address Lamar’s “Euphoria” diss. It’s safe to assume we’re going to get more cryptic (or not so cryptic) IG posts until Drake drops.

Lil Kim Claims She’s Going On Tour Soon With A “Special” Big Name

2024 has been a great time for fans of female rappers to see their favorite artists live. The biggest is Nicki Minaj who took off on her Pink Friday 2 tour earlier this year in support of the album of the same name that dropped last year in December. Missy Elliott also recently announced she was going on a star-studded tour, the first ever headlining tour of her career. Elsewhere fans have gotten to see artists like Sexyy Red and JT as they take off across the country. Another legend could be following next, Lil Kim.

She hasn’t officially announced a tour yet. There’s no name, dates, or even a time frame of when shows will be or tickets will go on sale. In fact, from the sound of it Kim isn’t even the headliner on the tour. She recently made the announcement that she was going on tour with somebody. It’s unclear who she’s talking about but she describes them as “special” and “amazing.” In the comments of the video where she makes the announcement fans speculate on who she may be joining on tour. Before Kendrick Lamar vs. Drake became the biggest beef in rap, Megan threw down the gauntlet with her single “HISS.” The track took shots at multiple adversaries who have come out against her over the years, though most fans honed in on just one. Nicki Minaj was singled out as the song’s primary target mostly because of one particularly lethal line about Megan’s Law. When Minaj’s response track was universally panned for lacking any creative comebacks and delivering flat out lies, Megan took a much-deserved victory lap.

But now she seems to be back and gearing up towards releasing new music. She took to Instagram to tease fans with the message “😈🐍🎮 Are you ready to play ?.” The message was attached to two renditions of Megan in classic video game style. She serves up a pair of looks in the likeness of old Playstation fighting games and fans are eating it up. “his eats so bad i’m inspired to change my concert outfit 😭” one of the top comments on the post reads. Pictures of a new chain Lil Durk copped made the rounds earlier this week. It’s a massive star of Islam chain that sports impressive detail in its craftsmanship. Cardi B has been busy on her Instagram Live recently. She made waves after reacting to a controversial viral episode of 20 vs. 1. She had fans trying to find where the line is between the NSFW behavior in her songs and the content of the episode. That speculation doesn’t seem to be going anywhere as she returned to live with an NSFW rant about men. She compared all men to dogs, but she wasn’t just speaking in generalities. She listed some specific reasons why she thinks so.

Kendrick Lamar Continues To Whale On Drake With Stunning Diss “6:16 In LA”

Kendrick Lamar lived up to a “promise” he made to himself on “euphoria” just a couple of days ago. “Back To Back,” I like that record / I’ma get back to that, for the record.” It turns out he really did have something else cooking, as Kendrick Lamar has just dropped “6:16 in LA.” The song was released on his Instagram just about an hour ago, and like “euphoria,” it is sending the internet into a frenzy.

“6:16 in LA” sees K-Dot ride a more laid-back instrumental with some pretty synths, minimal drums and guitar, as well as a soulful vocal loop. As for the disses, Lamar takes aim at the Drake stans like DJ Akademiks, “Yeah, somebody’s lyin’, I could see the vibes on Ak’ / Even he lookin’ compromised, let’s peel the layers back.” He also suggests that people over at OVO are working for him and praying on Drake’s downfall in this beef. “Have you ever thought that OVO was workin’ for me?… Everyone inside your team is whispering that you deserve it / Can’t “Toosie Slide” up out of this one, it’s just gon’ resurface.”

Drake Seemingly Responds To Kendrick Lamar Mocking Toronto Slang

Drake and Kendrick Lamar are currently in the midst of a huge rap feud that has the entire music world paying attention. Overall, this has been brewing ever since Kendrick dropped his “Control” verse all the way back in 2013. When Kendrick dropped “Like That,” it became clear that he wanted to engage in a real feud. Subsequently, Drake came through with “Push Ups” and continued to poke the bear with “Taylor Made Freestyle.” On Tuesday, Kendrick delivered a banger with “Euphoria,” and now, it seems like he is winning, even if by a slim margin.

Near the end of Kendrick’s diss track, he delivers a mockery of the Toronto accent and some of the slang that comes with it. One word in particular was used, “crodi.” This is a word you will hear a lot in Toronto, and Kendrick used it in a manner that felt at least a little bit demeaning. Well, it seems as though Drake has issued a response to the use of the word. In the tweet below, you can see a screengrab from his Instagram story, in which Adonis can be seen looking in the mirror. Drake followed this up with the caption “Mirror time crodi…”

Drake Vs. Kendrick Lamar Continues

Only time will tell when Drake will deliver his response to Kendrick. If one thing is for certain, it is that we will be getting a clapback. DJ Akademiks has confirmed as such. FKA Twigs Testifies To Congress About Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence is one of the hottest issues right now not just in music, but in all creative mediums. Last month, dozens of artists across the music industry signed a joint letter calling for AI to be regulated. Artists are worried about the likeness being stolen by Ai platforms and recreated without their permission. There’s already been a couple of high-profile incidents surrounding artificial intelligence. Last year, an artificially generated Drake and The Weeknd song was ruled eligible for the Grammys. The decision was immediately controversial and led to them overturning it a week later. Earlier this week, there was a hearing in congress to discuss potentially regulating Artificial Intelligence going forward. R&B darling FKA Twigs was present at the hearing where she testified in favor of regulating the inevitable future of AI.

Afterward she took to Instagram to make a post about the experience. “today i spoke infront of congress to senator coons, tillis, blackburn, hirono, klobuchar, welch and blumenthal about the importance of legislation to protect artists voice and likeness, art and intellectual property from the misuse of deepfakes and ai. i am passionate about exploring new technologies with the guise of expanding my art further and exploring new ways to express myself and reach fans, however it is imperative that at this dawn of great technological growth legislation is put in place to ensure that an artists likeness is controlled by the artist themselves” her caption read. Gunna And Tyla Spotted Partying In Johannesburg

Tyla had a massive breakout in 2023. Her song “Water” dropped over the summer and slowly crept all the way up the charts. Gunna had a pretty big 2023 in his own right. He dropped his new album a gift & a curse which soared to number 3 on the Billboard 200. It spawned the track “fukumean” which became one of the biggest rap hits of 2023 and one of the biggest hits of the year period. Now the two musical superstars of last year are spending some time together. Cameras caught the pair partying together in Johannesburg earlier this week. Most recently she jumped on her Instagram live and while there she shared her reaction to a controversial episode of the YouTube show 20 vs. 1. The shows format focuses on just one guy facing up against 20 girls in a variety of social challenges. In a recent episode they had a particularly NSFW incident that caught the attention of a lot of people online. Eventually the buzz got loud enough that it reached Cardi.

In the clip, she seems to take issue with the actions at hand. In the same kind of rambling, hilarious tone that fans have become accustomed to she explains why she can’t stand by the actions in the video. “I want better for you” she says specifically of J.P, the rapper who plays the roll of the 1 in the video.
