Bobby Shmurda Reacts To Being Mentioned In Uncle Murda’s “Rap Up 2022”

2022 came to a close rather quickly. We’re already four days into 2023 and are patiently awaiting some highly-anticipated music releases this year.

However, 2022 didn’t end without a bombshell from Uncle Murda. Sticking to tradition, the New York rapper dropped off his annual “Rap Up” song on New Year’s Eve.

Sprawling across the track’s 15-minute runtime, the 42-year-old doesn’t hold back when addressing the various events that transpired over the course of the past 12 months in both hip-hop and pop culture.

One of the many artists he mentions is Bobby Shmurda. Namely, he addresses the beef between the “Hot N*gga” rapper and NBA YoungBoy earlier last year.

“NBA Youngboy had Rich The Kid shook / Over a little picture with Lil Durk that he took / Hope he know Bobby Shmurda and Rich The Kid different / Bobby will really boom you, n*gga, watch who you mention,” he raps within the first verse.

The Past Beef

It all began in November when Rowdy Rebel decided to speak out against the tragic murder of King Von. Specifically, he shares his thoughts on Lul Tum, the alleged killer and affiliate of both Quando Rondo and YoungBoy. “When King Von died, that Lul Tim n*gga, he didn’t have to get out of the car and start squeezing right away. You already got yours drawn,” says the “Computers” rapper.

“His mind off the rip went to kill. How you went to kill? How much hate you have already to kill this man?” he questions afterwards.

The Baton Rouge native subsequently replied in an Instagram Story. “I see why n*ggas irrelevant today “Be trying to make all the sense thinking what they saying real but sounding stupid asf[.]” Just mind yo businesses And stop the violence,” he says, before signing off as “Quando[‘s] big brother.”

The “Hot N*gga” rapper later shared his own two cents, seemingly dissing YoungBoy and Rondo in the process.

“Stop telling me about your brother’s shooters and your brother’s this – what the f*ck do you do? Huh? When are you finally gonna do something?” he questions.

Shmurda’s Reaction

Regardless of the past beef, Shmurda has since shared his thoughts on being mentioned in Murda’s year-end song. Evidently, he finds it humorous and simultaneously insists he’s a changed man. In an Instagram Live video, he reacts to hearing Murda dropping his name in the track for the first time. “Murda, I’m a changed man. I’m a changed man. I’m different, man. I’m tryna change, Murda. I ain’t tryna boom nobody no more,’ he pleads during the video.

It’s now been nearly seven months since Lil Tjay was shot while in New Jersey in June of last year. Throughout his recovery, he is certainly proving to be resilient.

When the reports first began to circulate, his condition was initially unclear. However, he has thankfully since recovered and subsequently released some new music as well.

The “Run It Up” rapper recently returned to the state of New Jersey for a performance.

On Friday (December 30), the 21-year-old took to his Instagram account to share some photos of himself on stage. In the last photo, he’s performing while shirtless. There are noticeably several gunshot wounds on the front of his body. “BACK IN JERSEY,” he writes in the post’s caption, along with a couple of hand emojis making a heart shape.

His first music release following the incident came in the form of “Beat the Odds.” The single finds the Bronx native addressing the difficulties of recovering from his injuries. Furthermore, the video shows him writing and recording the song while recovering in a hospital bed.

In November, the Bronx native dropped another single, “Give What You Want.” The track is a soulful performance and continues his streak as one of the most diverse artists in the game right now.

The alleged suspect was arrested for attempted murder and armed robbery the same day of the shooting. Mohamed Konate is reportedly responsible for shooting Tjay and two others while sitting in a car outside of a Chipotle restaurant.

While it’s difficult to see his wounds, it’s certainly good to see that the 21-year-old has recovered enough to be on stage again.

Westside Gunn & Benny The Butcher Throw Shots At B.Dot After Exclusion From Best Rappers Of 2022 List

Now that 2022 has officially come to a close, many have finalized their lists containing their favorite things of the year. Most popularly in the music industry, fans and media figures alike tend to share their lists of their favorite songs, albums and artists over the past 365 days.

Of course, hip-hop is one of, if not the most competitive genre. Everyone’s year-end lists surrounding rappers and hip-hop albums usually stir up some heated discussion online.

2022 is no different. One media figure who has become notorious for sharing his year-end lists is hip-hop journalist, B.Dot Miller. On December 23, the Rap Radar co-host took to his Twitter account to share his list of the best rappers of the year.

As per usual, he bases his list on skill, performance and presence. For 2022, he has Pusha T, Gucci Mane and J. Cole as the top three, in that order. Kendrick follows in the fourth spot, JID is fifth, then 21 Savage at sixth. The seventh to tenth spots belong to Kodak Black, Drake, Ransom and Lil Wayne, in that order.

The Griselda camp had an incredibly busy year yet again, collectively dropping several projects. Regardless, none of them are present on B.Dot’s list. Westside Gunn evidently isn’t happy about it.

He and some of the other Griselda crew members, including Stove God Cooks and Rome Streetz, recently sat down for an interview with B.Dot and Elliott Wilson for an episode of their Rap Radar podcast. However, this was clearly before Miller released his list.

“This was a great interview but that was some weeks ago, now it’s F*CK @bdotTM bc he just don’t get it & I wasted 2hrs of my time[.] its @GriseldaRecords ALL YEAR[.] S/O to my guy @ElliottWilson he still good he rode thru the hood w/me in the Bach,” writes the “327” rapper.

“This THURSDAY let’s start my Finale yr with a @RapRadar interview with @ElliottWilson and a few good men @BoldyJames @Stovegodcooks & @Rome_Streetz the ALMIGHTY GXFR @GriseldaRecords,” the Buffalo native writes in another tweet afterwards. In the promo picture of the group, Gunn scratches out B.Dot’s face and writes “Chump” above him.

Furthermore, Benny The Butcher is also taking exception to being left off the list. A fan replied to the Rap Radar co-host’s list asking Benny if they were left off because of a bar from Conway the Machine that mentioned B.Dot. “If so, that’s mad corny. I thought it was harmless,” the fan writes.

The bar in question is seemingly from Benny and Conway’s collaborative track from earlier this year, “Tyson vs. Ali.” The 40-year-old raps, “Tell B.Dot I said, f his list.”

The “Johnny P’s Caddy” rapper replies, insisting that this is the case. “Def tht and I had a brush in with 2 of his rap friends lol,” he says.

Additionally, Benny replied to another comment about the group’s absence when the list was originally posted in December. “F*ck smokin crack he gotta be Eatin it,” he says.

The full Griselda interview with Rap Radar is set to release this Thursday (January 5).

What are your thoughts on B.Dot’s list? Should at least a few of the Griselda members have been on the list? Comment your thoughts below. Finally, make sure to stay tuned to HNHH for all of the latest updates.

Logic & Dwight From “The Office” Spotted In The Studio Together

Logic is certainly no stranger to a fun studio session. Fans consistently get a look into his life and recording process through his YouTube series, Just Another Day.

However, a recent Instagram post shows him in the studio with a rather unexpected collaborator – none other than actor, Rainn Wilson.

The “Everyday” rapper took to his account on Saturday (December 31) to share footage of the surprising duo making music together. “My man is making beats right now and he’s really snapping,” says the 32-year-old. He subsequently shows the actor using an MPC beat-making machine. “Look who stopped by to cook some beets,” he writes in the post’s caption.

Of course, Wilson is best known for playing Dwight Schrute in the comedy series, The Office.

Logic is a documented fan of movies and TV shows. He has even teased about his involvement in various films over the years. In 2018, it was announced that he was set to star in a film produced by J.J. Abrams. However, it’s still yet to see a release and has reportedly been scrapped.

Further showing his passion for motion pictures, the video for his collaboration with Marshmello, “Everyday,” is actually a 10-minute long short film.

Earlier this year, the Maryland native dropped his seventh studio album, Vinyl Days. The monstrous 30-track project shows off his love for old-school boom-bap. Additionally, it finds him spitting verses with a wide array of guests including Wiz Khalifa, RZA and Action Bronson. Furthermore, it features skits from some pop culture figures like J.J. Abrams, Aaron Judge and Anthony Fantano.

It’s certainly not hard to imagine Dwight Schrute delivering an entertaining skit or an intro on a Logic track. We can only hope that we’ll get to hear what they’re making soon.

What do you hope Logic and Rainn Wilson are cooking up? Comment down below. Finally, make sure to stay tuned to HNHH for the latest music and pop culture updates.

Alleged XXXTENTACION Murderer Says Drake Needs To Testify In Trial

It’s been nearly five years since XXXTENTACION was murdered in Florida at just 20 years old. However, his legacy lives on because of his expressive music that continues to touch his fanbase. However, the Florida native did have a rather controversial past with violent accusations.

The suspect in his murder, Dedrick Williams, has pleaded not guilty. Now, he’s calling on some big names to testify due to their alleged involvement.

Just a couple of weeks ago, Williams’ attorney listed a bunch of high-profile people as potential witnesses in the case. Joe Budden, 6ix9ine, Quavo, Takeoff (R.I.P.) and Drake are on this list.

New reports from AllHipHop indicate that the alleged murderer really wants Drake to testify at the trial. “The testimony of the said Aubrey Drake Graham is material to the case, and it is necessary to take the deposition of the said Aubrey Drake Graham to prevent the failure of justice,” says the document.

Drizzy and the “SAD!” rapper had a documented beef that began in 2017. Upon the Toronto star releasing his More Life project that year, the Florida native took exception to one of its tracks, “KMT.” X publicly claimed that Drake was stealing his flow and cadence on the song. The track that he’s allegedly ripping off is X’s mega-hit, “Look At Me!”

Williams and his attorney allegedly believe that Drizzy’s talking about the murder in one of his most recent songs, “On BS,” is him talking about the murder. “Damn, maybe I should do a twenty, maybe I should break that twenty, do a ten / Maybe I should break that ten, do a five, then if it gets live, do a five again / If he held his tongue on that live, he’d be alive again,” he raps in the second verse.

Additionally, Williams and his legal team also want DJ Akademiks to testify in the trial. His attorney claims that the media personality consistently makes comments about the case while streaming.

“Mr. Allen, who goes by the stage name ‘DJ Akademiks’ posted his podcast on December 21, where he openly discusses the case, acknowledges being served and states, ‘I am not showing up to court to talk to y’all n****s’. It is clear that nothing short of a court order will ensure Mr. Allen’s participation in a deposition,” the document reads elsewhere.

Ab-Soul Calls His Latest Album, “HERBERT” Top 5 Of The Year

As 2022 quickly comes to a close, fans and artists alike are continuing to share their favorite music of the year.

Ab-Soul’s latest offering, HERBERT, has only been out for a couple of weeks. Regardless, the L.A. native thinks it’s a top-five album of the year.

Elliott Wilson and Ab-Soul attend backstage at Irving Plaza on October 6, 2014 in New York City. (Photo by Johnny Nunez/WireImage)

He took to his Twitter account on Friday (December 30) to share his thoughts on his own fifth studio album. “ALSO. My album IS top 5 of da year. F*cc all dat humble sh*t. Dead homies,” he writes in his remark. Evidently, being humble isn’t in the “Illuminate” rapper’s New Year’s resolutions. However, the argument is definitely a fair one, as the album has garnered a positive reception.

The project serves as the TDE rapper’s first album in six years, following 2016’s Do What Thou Wilt. Throughout HERBERT‘s 18-song tracklist, the 35-year-old explicitly addresses the state of his mental health and his battles with depression.

As part of the rollout for the album, Ab-Soul sat down with Charlamagne Tha God for an intimate interview. During the pair’s talk, which lasted for over an hour, Soulo opens up about a suicide attempt.

“I pretty much finished the album before I did what I did. I jumped off a freeway overpass, man. It was about 50 feet. I think a car broke my fall. [I] walked from my mom’s house to the bridge and jumped off on the freeway overpass. Imagine, like, you’re walking and you blink and then you’re further. You blink and then you’re further, you blink and then I’m on a fence,” he details.

“My jaw is f*cked up. I got a lotta work to do still. I’m about 85% on my foot. My foot is completely reconstructed, all the way to my pelvis, my femur, everything, was affected except my knee. If my knee would’ve been affected, I might not be walking,” he says after stating that he wasn’t in control while it was happening.

HERBERT boasts features from the likes of Joey Bada$$, Jhené Aiko, Russ, Big Sean and others. Furthermore, it evidently showcases Soul getting deeply introspective.

Considering it was released so late into the year, it will certainly be interesting to see how many year-end lists it makes its way onto.

What are your thoughts on HERBERT? Is it cracking your year-end list? Comment down below. Finally, make sure to stay tuned to HNHH for all of the latest updates in music and pop culture.

Westside Gunn Announces Plans To Retire From Rap – Again

Westside Gunn is no stranger to teasing his retirement. In 2019, he announced that 2021 would be his last year rapping, after confirming that he still planned to release his collaborative project with Madlib.

However, after a monumental year in 2020, it didn’t appear as though the Buffalo native would be slowing down anytime soon. In the first month of 2021, he backtracked on his previous claims.

On Friday (December 30), the Griselda frontman took to his Twitter account to get a lot off of his chest.

“23′ def my last year doing this sh*t, I don’t have nothing else 2prove, I put my team on, I put my city on, I worked w/everybody I ever wanted to work with, plus MFs still don’t even understand 1-10, FLYGOD, Awesome GOD, or Pray for Paris (mind u Virgil did the cover),” he wrote in the first tweet in a string of others.

After flexing all of the artists he’s worked with over the past few years, including Kanye, Tyler, The Creator and Lil Wayne, he goes on to explain his reasoning. “I know I say I’m a retire all the time so ppl might be like he always say this, seriously I been thru so much with this sh*t behind closed doors y’all would never know, it’s brought more pain than joy[.] I’m just so G that I make it look super easy but I fight these devils everyday,” he writes.

“& I’m tweeting all of this bc I don’t wanna give no more P*ssy ass blogs my time[.] If I’m gonna say something from now on I’m a just make the content and drop it myself UNLESS I really respect you…my supporters already know wat I have going on and I’ll trust the to spread the ART,” he later continues.

Afterwards, the “327” rapper promised to make his alleged final year as an artist a busy one. “Yes I know ppl want GUNNLIB in 23′[.] Yes I do wanna make Awesome GOD a trilogy, Yes WWCD 2 is ontop of my list[.] there’s no way I’ll hang it up without a project with my family, YES StoveGOD will be dropping, YES MICHELLE records will be dropping,” writes the Buffalo native.

The announcement comes on the heels of yet another overwhelmingly active year from the 40-year-old. In July, he dropped the 10-track Peace “Fly” God. Additionally, the tenth and final instalment of his notorious HWH mixtape series arrived in October. The project boasts a stacked line-up of features including A$AP Rocky, Black Star, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon and more.

Roddy Ricch Goes Off On Paparazzi

2022 has been a rather redeeming year for Roddy Ricch. After last year’s LIVE LIFE FAST didn’t exactly live up to expectations, he took a brief break from dropping music.

Additionally, the world was witness to him deleting his Twitter account following a snippet receiving widespread criticism earlier this year. On Thursday (December 29), however, the Compton native made headlines for getting into a heated exchange with some paparazzi.

The incident occurred while the “Down Below” rapper was out in L.A., appearing to be loading a baby seat into the trunk of his car. After his security guard warns the paparazzi to back up, he proceeds to cross the street. Roddy doesn’t hesitate to flash him the finger as he’s doing so. After all, he does continue to film the 24-year-old, who evidently isn’t happy upon realizing this. The Compton native subsequently decides to approach the cameraman.

He repeatedly tells the paparazzi to turn his camera off and stop recording. “Turn that off, ’cause I wanna talk to you like a man,” he pleads.

“You was the first dude that walked up on me. You walked up on me, bro. Don’t walk up on me. This is real life, don’t walk up on me. I’m handling my personal business, you walking up on me. This ain’t that bro, I’m living real life,” Roddy states. He ends by telling the cameraman, “Leave me the f*ck alone.”

After a string of impressive mixtapes, including his Feed Tha Streets series, the Compton native dropped his debut album Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial in December 2019. Of course, this was backed by his biggest single to date in the megahit, “The Box.”

Last month, he returned to drop off the third instalment of his infamous series, Feed Tha Streets III. Although it does follow a similar formula to past Roddy projects, as a whole, it showcases his confidence and effortlessly melodic flow.

Plastic Surgeon In 50 Cent Penis Enhancement Case Says He Should Be Suing The Shade Room Instead

The legal battle between 50 Cent and Medical Spa owner Angela Kogan is still heating up. The Queens native continues to deny receiving a penis enhancement.

A new update in the case indicates that part of the surgeon’s defence states that 50 should really be suing The Shade Room.

50 Cent performs on day 1 of Parklife Festival at Heaton Park on June 11, 2022 in Manchester, England. (Photo by Burak Cingi/Redferns)

This all began when the “In Da Club” rapper sued Kogan back in September. The 47-year-old claims that the owner of Medical Spa made false claims about him receiving a penis enlargement procedure.

Furthermore, Kogan claims that the Power producer posed for a photo with her in exchange for services at the spa. However, 50 alleges that this doesn’t include anything to do with penis enlargement. He’s suing her for invasion of privacy, false endorsement, unauthorized misappropriation, false advertising, conversion and unjust enrichment.

In November, he even took to his Instagram account to maintain his side of the story. “yeah my d_ck is a BIG DEAL set for trial in july no enhancement necessary, these fools put them selves out of business,” he writes in the caption.

Evidently, neither Fif or Kogan are backing down. In October, she requested that the case be dismissed. Now, the business owner is saying the 47-year-old shouldn’t even be suing her in the first place.

According to documents obtained by AllHipHop, however, Kogan’s attorneys submitted the affirmative defenses on Thursday (December 30). They argue that the “In Da Club” rapper should be going after The Shade Room instead. The website allegedly posted the photo of Kogan and Fif together, accompanied by an article about penis enlargement surgery.

“The Shade Room is the author of the Article, and pulled the Photo from Kogan’s social media without Kogan’s permission or consent. The Shade Room is the publisher of the Article, and Plaintiff has improperly applied the actions of The Shade Room to Defendant,” says the surgeon’s lawyers in a statement.

If a settlement isn’t reached, the case is still set to head to trial in July 2023.

What do you think about the ongoing battle? Comment your thoughts down below. Finally, make sure to stay tuned to HNHH for the latest updates.

Math Hoffa Lists His Top Rap Groups Of All Time

The argument surrounding who’s the greatest rap group of all time is certainly a complicated one. There’s a rather long list of legendary groups within hip-hop who are worthy of a mention.

On Tuesday (December 27), battle rapper Math Hoffa took to his Instagram account to share his own personal list. His top five consists of Wu-Tang Clan, The LOX, G-Unit, A Tribe Called Quest and Outkast in that order.

Numbers six to ten in his mind are the Fugees, Run-D.M.C., Onyx, Three 6 Mafia and Goodie Mob. He subsequently ranks Camp Lo eleventh, Dipset at twelfth and gives the thirteenth spot to Das EFX. Obviously, there are a couple of notable exclusions.

“These list[s] get tricky huh? Lol no bias… if you feel we left anyone out, place in the comments below,” the New York native writes in the post’s caption.

Later in the day, he shared a revised list, tweaking it slightly. These are seemingly based on some comments he was receiving. His top two remain the same, but he replaces G-Unit with Mobb Deep in the third spot and slots G-Unit down at seven. Run-D.M.C. moves down to eighth, followed by N.W.A. at ninth and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony at number 10. Although he adds in four more spots, going up to 17, he still has Dipset last.

Of course, Hoffa’s initial list has stirred up some healthy debates on social media. “Math Hoffa GOAT list for hip hop groups is SEWER WATER[!] Outkast 5?? No NWA??? No Public Enemy??!! Give this man Donkey of The Day @cthagod,” writes one Twitter user.

“Math Hoffa’s “greatest groups” ever is laughable. It’s why people have to start saying “FAVORITE”…saying “greatest” opens it up to critique and we’re gonna laugh out the building. that list is ass,” another user writes in response.

Evidently, it seems as though any list will spark debates, considering everyone has their own biases.

Who are your top three hip-hop groups of all time? Comment them down below. Finally, make sure to stay tuned to HNHH for the latest updates and news.
