Bobby Shmurda Reacts To Being Mentioned In Uncle Murda’s “Rap Up 2022”

2022 came to a close rather quickly. We’re already four days into 2023 and are patiently awaiting some highly-anticipated music releases this year.

However, 2022 didn’t end without a bombshell from Uncle Murda. Sticking to tradition, the New York rapper dropped off his annual “Rap Up” song on New Year’s Eve.

Sprawling across the track’s 15-minute runtime, the 42-year-old doesn’t hold back when addressing the various events that transpired over the course of the past 12 months in both hip-hop and pop culture.

One of the many artists he mentions is Bobby Shmurda. Namely, he addresses the beef between the “Hot N*gga” rapper and NBA YoungBoy earlier last year.

“NBA Youngboy had Rich The Kid shook / Over a little picture with Lil Durk that he took / Hope he know Bobby Shmurda and Rich The Kid different / Bobby will really boom you, n*gga, watch who you mention,” he raps within the first verse.

The Past Beef

It all began in November when Rowdy Rebel decided to speak out against the tragic murder of King Von. Specifically, he shares his thoughts on Lul Tum, the alleged killer and affiliate of both Quando Rondo and YoungBoy. “When King Von died, that Lul Tim n*gga, he didn’t have to get out of the car and start squeezing right away. You already got yours drawn,” says the “Computers” rapper.

“His mind off the rip went to kill. How you went to kill? How much hate you have already to kill this man?” he questions afterwards.

The Baton Rouge native subsequently replied in an Instagram Story. “I see why n*ggas irrelevant today “Be trying to make all the sense thinking what they saying real but sounding stupid asf[.]” Just mind yo businesses And stop the violence,” he says, before signing off as “Quando[‘s] big brother.”

The “Hot N*gga” rapper later shared his own two cents, seemingly dissing YoungBoy and Rondo in the process.

“Stop telling me about your brother’s shooters and your brother’s this – what the f*ck do you do? Huh? When are you finally gonna do something?” he questions.

Shmurda’s Reaction

Regardless of the past beef, Shmurda has since shared his thoughts on being mentioned in Murda’s year-end song. Evidently, he finds it humorous and simultaneously insists he’s a changed man. In an Instagram Live video, he reacts to hearing Murda dropping his name in the track for the first time. “Murda, I’m a changed man. I’m a changed man. I’m different, man. I’m tryna change, Murda. I ain’t tryna boom nobody no more,’ he pleads during the video.

Freddie Gibbs Responds To Uncle Murda Calling Him Out In 2022 Rap Up

Freddie Gibbs

Uncle Murda recently released his 2022 Rap-Up, and took some shots at Freddie Gibbs regarding his beef with Benny The Butcher which led to him getting beat up at a barbeque restaurant in Buffalo, NY.

In the Rap Up, Uncle Murda rapped: “Let’s talk about Freddie Gibbs like really wassup with him? / Niggas robbed him in Buffalo and he got beat up again / He be out here looking like a cold-blooded sucker.”

It didn’t take long before Gibbs responded to Uncle Murda on Twitter, saying that the Rap Up rapper was “friendly as a box of puppies” every time they saw each other.

Uncle Murda was referencing an incident that took place last year where Freddie Gibbs was beaten up by members of Benny The Butchers entourage at a barbeque restaurant in Buffalo, New York. A fan of the Gary, Indiana artist saw the whole thing go down and even said that Benny’s people took Freddie’s chain during the attack.

Benny even went on to brag about the incident on Instagram live and showed the chain his goons snatched from Gibbs. Gibbs was on tour during the incident, and pictures were shortly released which showed his swollen eye.

Elsewhere in the Rap Up, Uncle Murda took shots at Kanye who he also named “Donkey Of The Year.” In the Rap Up, Uncle Murda rapped:

Let’s talk about Kanye being antisemitic, the adidas deal that made him a billionaire got deaded / Now he only worth ’bout four, five hundred M’s / He lost his momma, Pete Davidson started fucking Kim / He be dressing dusty now, he don’t even look rich / He been looking stressed since that white boy took his bitch.”

He added: “You already know JAY-Z be ignoring him, he violated George Floyd, Black people ain’t supporting him / He was on ‘Drink Champs’ sounding like a fucking clown / N.O.R.E. and them had to go and take the interview down / He defended the cop that had George Floyd on the ground, he say dumb shit whenever there’s a camera around / And it’s like he say this shit without no hesitation, his friends need to make sure he taking his medication.”

Freddie Gibbs Responds To Uncle Murda’s “Rap-Up 2022”

Freddie Gibbs offered a response to Uncle Murda’s “Rap Up 2022,” which mentioned the Gary, IN rapper’s altercation in Buffalo.

On New Year’s Day, Uncle Murda kept the annual tradition alive with “Rap-Up 2022.” The G-Unit rapper basically recaps the biggest headlines of the year with his own commentary. Uncle Murda name-dropped Will Smith, Kanye West, Megan Thee Stallion, Tory Lanez, and more. While most people didn’t respond to Uncle Murda’s diss, Freddie Gibbs fired back on Twitter.

In the song, Murda summarizes Freddie Gibbs’ altercation in Buffalo. “Let’s talk about Freddie Gibbs, like really, wassup with him?/ N***as robbed him in Buffalo and he got beat up again,” Murda raps. “He be out here lookin’ like a cold-blooded sucka.”

Following the song’s release, Gibbs said that Murda has always been cordial in their interactions. “Uncle Murda be friendly as a box of puppies every time I see him,” he wrote on Twitter. Then, Gibbs took aim at Murda’s career of being a hypeman for 50 Cent.

“I could never be a hype man for a n***a,” he wrote. “Fuck these wee wee holding ass n***as. RIP Gangsta Boo.”

This certainly isn’t the first time Murda mentioned Gibbs. On “Rap-Up 2021,” Murda ripped Freddie Gibbs over his altercation with Jim Jones and Akademiks’ claims that his family is a district attorney. Murda also dissed Gibbs over his Grammy nomination, claiming the rapper didn’t deserve the honor.

In response, Gibbs said that New York City “should be ashamed of y’all non-rapping n***az” before stating that he’d return to the Big Apple for the Space Rabbit tour. Though his shows in New York went down without issues, he ended up getting ran down on in Buffalo a day later.

Besides his recent spat with Uncle Murda, Freddie Gibbs is riding high off of the release of $oul $old Seprartately.
