Megan Thee Stallion To Host The 2024 VMAs

Megan Thee Stallion continues to keep winning in 2024, as she will be the host of the 2024 MTV VMAs. The network dropped this bombshell on their social media pages just minutes ago with the caption, “@THEESTALLION IS HOSTING THEE 2024 #VMAs! 🔥 Trust us, you won’t want to miss the show! September 11 on @mtv! 👩‍🚀”. For those wondering what time you can start watching, it will air at 8 p.m. ET. The Houston, Texas rapper will be a busy bee that night, as she is also up for five categories. Those include “Best Collaboration”, “Best Hip-Hop”, “Best Direction”, “Best Visual Effects”, and “Best Art Direction”. Overall, fans seem to be pretty juiced about the news.

“I ain’t watch the VMAs in years. I’m bout to throw a whole watch party 😂”, one IG user claims. “The V M Ahs😍”, another cleverly writes. Of course, there was also some back-and-forth shots from the Hotties and Nicki Minaj’s Barbz. “The barbs are angry 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂”. “They couldn’t get Nicki Minaj so they had to settle and down grade for Megan”.

Megan Thee Stallion Notches Another Feather In Her Cap

As we said earlier, Megan has just been on absolute tear overall. Some of her biggest accomplishments include dropping her comeback album MEGAN, going on the Hot Girl Summer Tour, and even her catchy Amazon jingle for this year’s Prime Day. Those reasons alone make sense as to why MTV selected her to host the long-running award show. But she’s also run things on other popular programs such as Saturday Night Live and The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

Keke Palmer Announced As Host Of This Years Soul Train Awards

Keke Palmer is right in the middle of a firestorm of news that has been following her for months. Much of it has been drama revolving around her relationship which started earlier this year. She had a rather innocuous interaction between Palmer and Usher during one of the R&B singer’s Las Vegas shows. But it turned into a full blown controversy when her boyfriend Darius Jackson commented on the matter online.

But later this month, Palmer is taking a break from the genre to serve as the host of this year’s Soul Train awards. “Keke Palmer is a globally recognized multihyphenate talent who embodies confidence and positivity, and is one of the most engaging and lovable personalities working in entertainment today,” their announcement statement began. “We can’t wait to have her host the Soul Train Awards house party. BET gave Keke her first talk show, where she made history as the youngest talk show host in television, and today we are honored to have her back on the Soul Train Awards stage,” they continued. Palmer is also set to perform at the show alongside artists like Coco Jones, Fridayy, BJ The Chicago Kid, Muni Long, and more. Check out the full announcement below.

Keke Palmer Takes On Hosting Duties

The drama between Keke Palmer and Darius Jackson was re-ignited a few days ago. Last week, she filed official motions in court to officially get a restraining order against Jackson and secure custody of their children. She was very quickly granted temporary victories in both. But Palmer will still have to return to court in December to fight the full legal battle. Unsurprisingly, the drama sparked plenty of comments and observations from many in the celebrity world. Two of the most notable people to weigh in were Jackson’s brother and Palmer’s mother.

Fans can tune into this year’s award show on November 26 when it airs on BET. What do you think of Keke Palmer being tapped to host the award show? Let us know in the comment section below.

Trevor Noah Reflects On Nerves Before Hosting Grammys For 3rd Time

Trevor Noah is set to return as the host of the 65th Annual Grammy Awards, marking his third time hosting the event. Regardless of his experience, he says that he’s still nervous to be taking the stage in front of such a star-studded crowd.

“The nerves come in because you’re standing in front of not just some of the best, but some of the biggest performers in the world,” Noah recently told the Associated Press. “Nerves are part of what I do.”

Noah also reflected on the event marking his third time as host.

“Every year, I notice that I develop a different rapport with the people in the room,” he further said. “That opens you up to a few more jokes and a few more conversations in a way where people understand the context of who you are in relations to them. It means you get to have a little bit of fun without anybody feeling like you’re dunking on them.”

The former host of The Daily Show also noted that he’s excited to see the performers at the ceremony. They include Bad Bunny, Mary J. Blige, Sam Smith, Lizzo, Steve Lacy, as well as Brandi Carlile.

“We love having Trevor because he’s so darn good at it,” said Harvey Mason jr, the CEO of the Recording Academy. Afterward, he described him as “personable” and “funny.”

As for the awards themselves, Beyoncé leads the way with nine nominations. She’s up for record and song of the year nods for her hit “Break My Soul.” Kendrick Lamar ranks second in total nominations with eight.

The Grammys will be airing live from Crypto.com Arena on Sunday on CBS and Paramount+.
