Madonna Out In Public Days After Hospital Health Scare

Only two weeks after being hospitalized, Madonna is back out on the streets of New York City. The pop legend was spotted with one of her friends on the Upper East Side, walking along East 80th Street and Lexington Avenue. According to the news outlet Page Six, she had on giant sunglasses, Nike shoes, and a wide-brimmed hat. She looked cheerful with her friend and seemed to be walking just fine (albeit taking her sweet time with it all).

This comes after Madonna’s June 24th hospitalization stemming from a bacterial infection. She was found unresponsive and rushed to the ICU for immediate treatment. After only a few days in the ICU, she was discharged and recovered at home, most likely with antibiotics and plenty of rest. Now, two weeks later, she’s back to enjoying life before she presumably goes off to do her twelfth solo tour. (Which might be on delay due to this abrupt health crisis.)

Above, podcaster Lauren Conlin snapped pictures of Madonna walking the NYC streets. “Guess who we just saw out and about today, looking great,” Conlin says to the camera. The video pans to two photos of Madonna leaning against a light pole, waiting to cross the street in the Big Apple. And while she’s out walking again, which is terrific news, she has yet to release a statement about the health scare or what this means for her upcoming tour.

Allegedly, Madonna had been feeling a low-grade fever for almost a month but did not alert medical professionals of this. She didn’t see a doctor because she didn’t want to have a reason to delay — or cancel — the Celebration tour. The pop star was going to kick things off on July 15th in Vancouver, BC. There are no updates from her or her manager, Guy Oseary. (Other than an expectation to return to full health via Oseary back in June.) It’s unclear whether she’ll be healthy enough to perform in five days’ time.

Earlier this week we got some scary details about a recent hospitalization Madonna had. She was reportedly found unresponsive over the weekend and taken to the hospital. While she has left the hospital since and is recovering reports are still emerging about the situation. Initial reports cited a bacterial infection as the primary cause of her hospitalization. Now new details are emerging.

According to TMZ, Madonna was “kicking and screaming” at the idea she may have to delay her tour. She was allegedly so focused on work for her upcoming Celebration tour that she didn’t go to the doctor. That was despite reportedly having a low fever for over a month before her hospitalization. Her upcoming tour is intended as a celebration of her four-decade musical career. It’s scheduled to start in Vancouver on July 15th. While no update has been made at the moment, it’s unclear if Madonna will be fit to perform.

Madonna’s Hospitalization Details

While Madonna clearly still wants the tour to go on as planned, that seems to be still up in the air. Just a few weeks ago she was part of a new song called “Popular.” The track is for the soundtrack of The Weeknd and Euphoria creator Sam Levinson’s new show The Idol. The Weeknd has been releasing new music in conjunction with the show’s new episodes airing every week. Her song “Popular” also features a short verse from Playboi Carti and is handed predominately by The Weeknd himself.

Earlier this month, Madonna was part of another new song. “VULGAR” saw the pop legend leaning into her controversial side alongside pop star Sam Smith. Just last night the song got the first of what is expected to be a number of official remixes. Much of the new material Madonna has released this year has been remixes of her classic work. Moreover, reports from TMZ now indicate that the pop star returned home and is in recovery following her stint in the intensive care unit (ICU) over a “serious bacterial infection.” Not only that, but reports on Thursday (June 29) from the BBC and CNN cited a source claiming that she is “in the clear.” However, this news left many fans wondering whether this will affect her upcoming tour, scheduled to begin this July. Furthermore, her longtime manager Guy Oseary shared a message on Wednesday (June 28) informing fans of the situation.

“On Saturday June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which led to a several day stay in the ICU,” he wrote. “Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected. At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour. Spinabenz Claims Jail Guard In Duval County Beat Him To The Point Of Hospitalization

Recently, authorities sentenced Jacksonville, Florida rapper Spinabenz to six months in jail. However, now the other side of law enforcement faces some accusations after a Duval County jail guard apparently left him hospitalized after a beating during the first two weeks of his stint behind bars. Moreover, he had previously been cleared of gun possession charges back in October, but continues to struggle with other legal issues. In this case, the rapper took to Instagram to share his testimony, alleging that he sustained significant neck and back injuries. Not only that, but he apparently is now in a neck brace, and he aims to hold Sergeant Rivera of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office accountable.

“I was beaten in Duval County PTDF yesterday unwarranted & unprovoked by JSO Sargent Riviera,” Spinabenz claimed. “Force was so excessive I had to be taken to the hospital. X-rays and MRI revealed I have both neck and back injuries. I am in a neck brace as a result of my injuries. They placed me in administrative confinement and turned off my access to tablets so no one can see me!!!”

According to TMZ, Jones was briefly hospitalized after suffering an adverse reaction to food at his Los Angeles home. Jones called 911 after suffering a reaction and was accompanied to the hospital by paramedics for further testing. However, he was reportedly given the all-clear soon after arriving and was discharged on Saturday evening.

Furthermore, representatives for the 28-time Grammy winner told TMZ that the legendary producer never lost consciousness. Additionally, they said that Jones was in “great spirits” by the time he was discharged. Jones turned 90 this past March and his advanced age was part of the reason that additional care needed to be taken in this case. As famed actor/singer Jamie Foxx remains hospitalized after almost a month, his family and close friends are asking the public to keep him in their prayers.

According to a report from TMZ, Foxx remains in the hospital after suffering a “medical emergency” more than three weeks ago, with his inner circle saying that the 55-year-old needs all of the positive energy he can get from well-wishers.

Corrine Foxx, Jaime’s daughter, first announced his hospitalization on April 12, saying that he experienced a “medical complication” but did not specify the nature of the ailment.

“From the Foxx Family. We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday,” she said in a statement. “Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.”

Corrine added, “We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time. Much love, the Foxx Family.”

Jamie Foxx was in the middle of filming the action-comedy movie Back in Action in Atlanta at the time he was hospitalized.

The forthcoming film, directed by Seth Gordon and also starring Cameron Diaz, Glenn Close, and Kyle Chandler, is set to be released on Netflix in 2024. Due to Jamie Foxx’s absence, TMZ reported a stunt double and body double had been seen filling in for him.
