What Did Megan Thee Stallion Say About Nicki Minaj On ‘Hiss?’

The girls are fighting: Megan Thee Stallion’s appearance on the Mean Girls soundtrack has reignited the fiery side of the rapper. On her latest single, “Hiss,” she’s officially taken the gloves off. While Megan has attempted to stay far away from conflict, her detractors don’t have that same sense of peace; thus, a music beef has been brought to the forefront.

On the record, co-produced by LilJuMadeDaBeat, Bankroll Got It, and Shawn “Source” Jarrett, Megan is done playing nice with former friend Nicki Minaj.

What Did Megan Thee Stallion Say About Nicki Minaj On ‘Hiss?’

Well, nearly the end of the song’s first verse, Megan takes an apparent jab at Nicki’s husband Kenneth Petty’s legal matters. “These hoes don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law,” raps Megan, referring to Petty’s past sexual assault allegations and failure to register as a sex offender in the state of California. “I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start / B*tch, you a p*ssy, never finna check me / Every chance you get, bet your weak ass won’t address me / B*tches swear they G, but the G must stand for goofy.”

Shortly after the record was released, Nicki took to Instagram Live to preview a snippet of her response diss track.

But apparently, Nicki isn’t the only person Megan turns her pen on. Fans believe the record contains a slew of sharp jabs aimed at her ex-boyfriend Pardi, Drake, and even DaBaby.

Nicki Minaj And Megan Thee Stallion Have Big-Time Beef After Minaj Responded To Meg’s Apparent Diss On ‘Hiss’

Today (January 26), Megan Thee Stallion released a new single, “Hiss.” Nicki Minaj did not like that.

On the new track, Meg raps, “These hoes don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law / I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start / B*tch, you a p*ssy, never finna check me / Every chance you get, bet your weak ass won’t address me.”

Per Cornell Law School, Megan’s Law is “the federal law that ‘require(s) the release of relevant information to protect the public from sexually violent offenders.’” This has been interpreted as a reference to Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty, who in 2022 was sentenced to a year of house arrest for failing to register as a sex offender.

Minaj caught wind of the new song and didn’t waste time with her retort.

After the song dropped, Minaj hopped on Instagram Live for a broadcast, during which repeatedly played a snippet of an unreleased song featuring lyrics apparently aimed at Meg. Minaj raps, “Bad b*tch, she like six foot, I call her Big Foot / The b*tch fell off, I said, ‘Get up on your good foot.’” The foot lyrics are an apparent reference to Megan getting shot in the foot by Tory Lanez.

During the broadcast, Minaj also made fun of Meg’s rapping skills, saying, “You have three Grammys and you have to learn how to rap on the beat and be comfortable in the music,” then doing a mocking impression of Meg’s flow.

On top of that, Minaj also liked posts about Megan getting shot, and posted a photo of her feet on X (formerly Twitter).

In what has been interpreted as Megan’s response to this, she took to her Instagram Story to share a photo of herself laughing.

Megan Thee Stallion Unleashes Explosive New Single “Hiss”

Prepare for the storm as Megan Thee Stallion, the Grammy-winning “Savage” rapper, just dropped her single “Hiss.” Produced by LilJuMadeDaBeat and Bankroll Got It, the song is a catchy and fun track that audiences are sure to love. With an explosive announcement on Monday (Jan. 22), Megan set the stage for the fiery release. The graphic initially revealed the track’s title, sending fans into a frenzy of anticipation. Moreover, building on the suspense, Megan Thee Stallion took to social media on Wednesday (Jan. 24) with a voiceover that served as a direct warning to the targets of her forthcoming single. “I just wanna kick this s–t off by saying, ‘F–k y’all!’” she proclaimed.

Furthermore, the assertive message continued, “I ain’t gotta clear my name on a motherf–kin’ thang. [Every time] I get mentioned, one of y’all b—h a– n—as get 24 hours of attention. I’m finna get this s–t off my chest and lay it to rest, let’s go!” “Hiss” marks Megan Thee Stallion’s first solo single of 2024, and the title alone teases a continuation of the snake-centric imagery seen in her previous solo release, 2023’s “Cobra.” Known for her bold and dynamic style, the rapper seems poised to deliver another memorable track that blends rock and rap, mirroring the rollicking fusion of genres in “Cobra.”

The 2023 release of “Cobra” marked a significant moment for Megan as her first independent single since parting ways with her former record label, 1501 Certified Entertainment. Now, with “Hiss,” fans can expect another powerful statement from the artist as she continues to assert her independence and dominance in the rap scene. As Megan Thee Stallion has been focusing on securing her bag in multiple ways, people are still finding ways to inject their opinions. Lindsay Lohan’s father for example had something to say about Megan’s ftness journey. In an incredibly unpopular tweet, Lohan’s father compared his daughter’s Planet Fitness campaign to Megan’s.

Moreover, Megan is keeping the content coming. The teaser and Megan’s unapologetic voiceover suggest that “Hiss” will not only be a sonic experience but also a bold declaration. As Megan Thee Stallion lays the groundwork for her 2024 musical journey, the message is clear: she’s ready to confront and conquer, making “Hiss” a highly anticipated chapter in her ongoing musical evolution. Megan Thee Stallion Continues Her Return By Announcing Her New Single ‘Hiss’ And Its Release Date

Last November, Megan Thee Stallion dropped “Cobra,” her first single since reportedly settling her years-long legal battle against her now-former label 1501 Certified Entertainment. Uproxx tapped it as one of “The Best Songs Of 2023,” due to how directly the song confronts her recent traumas (both personal and professional).

Since, Hot Girl Meg has collaborated with Reneé Rapp on Mean Girls track “Not My Fault” and released a NSFW song from the Big Mouth soundtrack, but she just reminded everybody that she’s still firmly in “Act One” of her snake emoji-fueled era.

This morning, January 22, Megan Thee Stallion announced “Hiss.” The single is due out this Friday, January 26, and is available to pre-save here. The “Hiss” cover art (or, one of them) finds Meg appearing completely nonplussed about having a shudder-inducing white snake wrapped around her neck and head.

“Cobra” and “Hiss” are presumably leading up to a Megan Thee Stallion album soon — her first since Traumazine in August 2022 — which is on Uproxx’s list of “Most Anticipated Albums Of 2024.” Aaron Williams previewed what can be expected, as excerpted below.

“New Year, new Stallion. The Hot Girl Coach finds herself in a much better place to begin 2024; she’s put both her legal dispute with her label and the Tory Lanez shooting case in her rearview, and she’s newly independent, meaning she’s the one calling all the shots on her next album. She kicked off her new era with the confessional return to form, ‘Cobra,’ and predicted in September that her next album will contain ‘a lot of rawness, a lot of realness, a lot of sh*t talking,’ while a more recent live stream promised she wouldn’t hold back, answering anyone who has called her out over the past couple of years.”

Now, she is an independent artist who can pretty much do what they want artistically. Furthermore, she has gone through a lot over the last few years, and has a lot to talk about.

Back in the Fall of 2023, Megan came out with a track called “Cobra.” This was subsequently followed up by a remix that contained Canadian metal band Spiritbox. The song detailed her breakup from Pardison Fontaine. Moreover, it even discussed her mental health challenges and how there were times she felt suicidal. Now, however, it appears as though Megan Thee Stallion is ready for her new musical adventure. Below, you can find the release date and cover art for her new single “Hiss.”
